Some more information about Wednesday season 2 from the leaker. I'm 100% believing them, as many things they mentioned got confirmed recently, like Enid's hair being different and more similar to Emma's, Enid not having scars, etc. Again, don't read if you don't want to potentially be spoiled for season 2.
1- A main character will die (I'm certain it can't be Enid or nobody will continue watching the show, so I guess Tyler, Bianca or Eugene? Obviously none of the Addams can die and there is no much main characters, so...)
2- Pugsley will go to Nevermore. He has powers (we don't know what yet)
3- Maxim has magnetism-esque powers
4- Morticia and Wednesday will be close
5- Enid has a few scenes with Pugsley
6- Pugsley will become close friend with Eugene (always knew they'd get along!)
7- There's a lot of flashbacks of young Wednesday, Pugsley, Grandmama and Barry
8- Ajax breaks up with Enid in episode 1
9- Larissa was indeed supposed to have impersonated Lurch at the end of season one, like a lot of people guessed, but the idea was sadly dropped. Gwendolyn and Christina won't be back this season. Though Christina will be 'there' through flashbacks/photos of season 1
10- Esther and Enid gets closer. Esther spoils Enid with gifts (bye bye all the amazing ideas and fanfics where Esther is a real bitch and Wednesday has to confort Enid)
11- Tyler will have a lot of scenes.
12- There's a 'scary' murder scene. This season will be way more gory than season one and definitely not for kids.
13- Bianca's mom has a fight with Morticia and is planning something bad. Probably something related to the cult she mentionned in season 1.
Also, the 2 years time jump has never been mentionned by the leaker or any official source. So calm down everybody. I really doubt this info is true. It wouldn't make any sense, especially for the stalker storyline and characters arcs. That's all for today! Again, nothing confirmed, but a lot of stuff the leaker mentionned months ago got confirmed recently... and they said they are sharing this to 'get revenge' or something because Netflix messed up with their contract or something. So I personally do believe everything they said, especially with the teaser we got that confirmed a lot.

Jim and Oluwande got the worst end of the deal. I'd even say they regressed as both characters and partners and anything they had built up in s1 was almost completely stripped away from them. The way they're portrayed together and apart in s2 is not only unlike the characters we saw in s1, but their rich storyline was reduced to extreme side characters used only as plot devices in a way they absolutely did not have to be used. I LOVED them in s1, and I was so disappointed by what s2 did to them and their potential growth, which I think applies to pretty much everything in s2, not only them.
Mind if I piggyback of this ask to go into all my critiques of the handling of Jim/Olu in Season 2? Thanks!
OFMD Critique: Tealoranges, Dropped Storylines, and Wasted Potential
God, the issues I have with the writing of Season 2 extend in so many directions. Jim's character, I felt, was well-handled for at least the first two episodes but then slowly starts skewing wrong as early as episode 3 (I am still chewing glass over the way their reunion scene with Oluwande was written- or, rather, NOT written). Episode 4 was good, but everything after that? Someone said that Jim in the back half of the season feels more like Vico than Jim, and though I do love and appreciate Vico, it's completely true. Jim doesn't feel like the same character we've come to know, whether from Season 1 or even what is set up in early season 2.
And yet, I STILL feel like they're written better than Olu, if you can believe it? So, I haven't talked about this much, but I feel like Olu is done dirty from almost the moment he is introduced in Season 2. At least Jim (through editing alone, but hey, we'll give the show the smallest benefit of the doubt) gets an acknowledgement that they miss Olu during that flashback sequences while they talk to Archie- Olu doesn't even get that. I read about a deleted scene that would have had Pete and Olu desperate to reunite with Lucius and Jim in episode 1 and I feel like that was DESPERATELY needed to make the Season 1 finale -> Season 2 jump make any sort of sense. I like Zheng, but for the love of God, her romance with Olu (which I had my own issues with for the disservice it does both their characters) is not worth destroying the tealoranges build up from Season 1. Just cut something from the first episode or one of the Zheng/Olu scenes from the second episode to make it make sense.
Then, moving onto later in the season- I've posted about how Olu and Jim deserved the grand, epic reunion otherwise 1x10 and everything set up with them in Season 1 doesn't make sense. Could the writers of the show have possibly redistributed some of the glorious cinematography from Ed and Stede over to Jim and Olu? All I need is one shot of their reunion (a proper, emotional one, not played for laughs or friendship or whatever) framed by the sun to parallel Ed and Stede's being framed by the moon and I would have been happy on that front.
And then later in the season...I was down for the poly elements if they could have been executed better. Fanfics have shown that the Archie plot could have been executed well. But the fact that Zheng is straight up NOT MENTIONED until 2x7 by Olu? And then Jim says that he's been pining for her the whole time? I'm sorry, but it doesn't compute. Show, don't tell. There's a reason why I'm down for Jim/Archie/Olu (if executed well), but can't see Zheng/Olu at all.
But of course, 2x7 comes along and we get the "family who fucked" line. And the implication that Olu could have ever left the Revenge without Jim, when in Season 1 he became a wreck because Jim left for A FEW DAYS, much less was FORCEFULLY SEPARATED from him for MONTHS. Then in the finale, at the lupete wedding, they were separated out, him with Zheng and them with Archie, and, well, at that point...I was tired. I'm not gonna lie. Because this wasn't questionable or problematic writing, it just fundamentally DIDN'T MAKE SENSE.
And this is just on a romantic relationship POV. I hated seeing Olu lose his leadership arc from Season 1 and his loyalty to Jim and his nuanced emotional level-headedness/sense of logic. Season 1 really felt like it was slowly building up the idea that the ideal Captain was neither Stede nor Blackbeard but someone a bit more rational, a bit more grounded, a bit more communicative with his crew- someone like Olu. And he gets shoved into the back in Season 2 and reduced to the guy who can't sort scrolls or know that the BOATS ON A MAP MATTER. He gets no influence on plot or major decisions when he was often the voice of reason in Season 1 (we all remember Lucius being a romantic voice of reason in Season 1, but rarely remember that Olu was a major supporting deciding factor in a number of decisions made on the Revenge).
And as for Jim, I wanted more exploration or even just acknowledgement of their trauma post episode-4. I wanted an actual organic continuation of their character arc post-vengeance quest and post-Blackbeard, not just them getting defined by "funny knife thrower with a girlfriend and an ex-boyfriend who they want to get with his crush." They were so much more than that, and it killed me to see the two people who were basically main character 3 and 4 in Season 1 get shoved aside for unneeded subplots about Ricky and Zheng or Gentlebeard's three separate breakups when Jim and Olu's plotline had so much more potential than any of that. They weren't just star-crossed lovers- they were a slow burn ship built of absolutely interesting, complicated, and well-developed characters who brought out the best in each other with a DEVASTATING midpoint to their arc and it honestly would have made a better season not just for them as characters, but for the show overall if someone had just realized that the parallels between a couple that fights and claws to stay together no matter what (tealoranges) and a main ship that was still figuring itself out (Gentlebeard) would have SLAPPED.
(I am now picturing a version of this season where instead of the Izzy fakeout death/Gentlebeard reunion in the beginning of the first episode, we get an Olu/Jim reunion in episode 3 to parallel whatever reunion the writers wanted to slap together for Stede/Ed. I would have actively cried over the Olu/Jim reunion and it would have drastically improved the season.)

idk about anyone else but I would’ve LOVED to see at least one substantial interaction between angel and dawn, or even angelus and dawn. because I feel like we all forget that angel had a little sister, who looked to be around dawn’s age (considering dawn would’ve been 10-13 years old during seasons 1-3). and he murdered her.
I imagine him being extremely awkward around dawn, unsure of what to do or how to behave, with moments of awkward but genuine tenderness that really show how much he would have loved his sister when he was alive. he probably would feel unsafe around her, and guilty, seeing her as an everyday reminder of what he did and feeling like a danger to her even though he knows he would never hurt her, not wanting to get close to her or touch her. buffy would likely bring this up, making it a plot point for an episode that ended in angel and dawn having an emotional reconciliation, wherein perhaps she tells him that he’s not that person anymore, and she doesn’t see him that way or feel threatened by him. which would then hit really hard when he turns into angelus, making her kind of hate him in season 3 which would explain the way she speaks about him from season 5 onwards… UGH it’s just so good
it’s just fascinating to me, and shocking that we never got any kind of flashback to delve into this (I get it would’ve been hard because michelle trachtenberg certainly does not look 10 or 12, but still). because every character in the buffyverse who was around from seasons 1-4 remembers everything completely differently to what we see on screen. as far as they’re concerned, dawn was there, deeply entrenched in all their lives. I think since reading “green smoke and empty mirrors” (by apprenticebard on ao3, best fanfic ever written istg everyone go read it right now) I’ve thought about this much more. thinking of making a fic about dawn and angel one day, because the potential is INSANE

Not sure if this makes sense, but is there anything regarding Klaine that your opinion has significantly changed on since the show ended/you last analyzed the show?
It makes absolute sense, Nonny! And it's a great question!
It's interesting because I'm not sure that opinions have necessarily changed, but the context in which I have opinions has changed? Which - is a thought that probably doesn't make much sense but...
I've been thinking about it. My relationship with the show has gone through phases. When I first watched the show, I didn't think much of it, because I didn't like it all that much. And then falling in love with the characters and intaking everything, and I feel like during that time, especially since the show was still airing, you had gut reactions and instant feelings and you had to defend those feelings because other people would come at you and it was intense, etc, etc, etc.
And then after the wash of feels, getting into meta. And let me tell you, Nonny, doing deep analysis of a thing -- it fundamentally changes how you are with that thing. I feel as though I took Glee apart and put it back together again and looked at just about every angle and it kind of solidifies how you feel about it? And, that's not to say I'm not open to new takes or hearing new people talk about it -- but it is fascinating watching people get to the same conclusion on things you've had figured out ages ago.
I think if I were ever to go back and do meta again on the show, though, one thing I'd do is make sure I'm addressing a bigger context? I was so narrowly focused when I did the Kurt-meta, that I think I sometimes missed things. That it was important, sometimes, to branch out and talk about -- not just Blaine (Which I often did) but the Rachel or Santana or Mercedes or whatever, and I didn't dig in to the greater context sometimes as I should.
But anyway, I think I'm in a different stage now? I feel like when you have such an intense relationship with something, it kind of stays with you. Like, Glee feels like it's a part of me, a part of my make up. But there's very much a distance to it now. And I'm okay with that. I've made my peace with a lot of things. I've made my peace that the show was incredibly imperfect, but still very much had value. And it feels weird to watch new people play with the show in ways that are unfamiliar to me, but I've made my peace with that, too, and respect that just a new group of people are going to interact with it differently than those of us who went through fandom when it was on the air.
And, I know you were looking for more specific things tied to, say, plot points, I'm sorry I went down a self reflective, indulgent, rabbit hole.
I don't know that my opinions really have changed all that much in the past decade. I think the meta and fanfic have given me the ability to deal with the show's misgivings. I appreciate Season 4 and 6 more than I used to, and have cool, ever so slightly on Season 5. (Nothing you say will get me to like Season 3 more - it's still terrible.) I think overall, the show just was never as good as its potential.
But mean, admittedly, it's really been a long, long time since I've sat and just watched through it. It has to have been years since I sat and just watched through the show, and really outside of doing music meta for Season 1, I haven't really watched a full episode in a long, long time. I have seen clips of things here and there for fic purposes.
So, Idk -- I think I've needed some distance, to allow me to really enjoy other things. But I also think I'm in a place where I'm open to doing a rewatch and seeing how I feel about it.
Idk, Nonny, that's kind of where I'm at!

Holy shit, it's done. My 3 year fanfic project is DONE. HOoooly shit. Fuck. Like, what do I even do with myself? It's done! I don't even know what I'm going to do next. Not commit myself to another big project for at minimum six months, I know that much, but.
All the ideas I've been sorta putting in the backlog or only dabbling in because I've only got so much bandwidth and it was all tied up in the KH fic - they're all on the table now.
How do I decide what to work on? I've got all these things to choose from now:
More animatics. I've proved to myself I can do them so now every idea I've ever had is up for grabs.
Mega Man Legends stuff. What does that mean? I don't know but there's not enough of it on the internet I've decided.
My DBQ2 "builder ascends" series re-write/AU thing. Could work on that.
That thing where I was drafting an outline for a theoretical Danny Phantom reboot? Like I don't want to actually right it as a series. But it might be fun to write a theoretical episode list?
TMNT stuff. No seriously SO MUCH TMNT stuff
I've been wanting to do a Rise re-watch specifically looking at and listing out the magic that appears in the show, to see if I can get a grasp on the ridiculously squishy magic system. I'd write out my thoughts episode-by-episode on that.
I've got an idea for a sort of "missing episode" Rise one-shot nestled inside the 4-part finale, featuring the turtles (trying to) learn from Karai.
Do more with the TMNT 2012 Mikey changes the timeline idea I've messed with a bit maybe. This one I feel weird about because it originates from someone else, but I have no way to get in contact with them and ask if they're okay with me taking off from their idea...
Sometimes I just want to sit down and synthesize my thoughts on all the 2012 characters, and interesting moments/traits dropped in and then forgotten about by the show, and how I imagine they could have been incorporated into clearer series-long arcs.
Especially for April. I have a lot of thoughts about 2012 April's potential, as I'm sure many do. I could write out all my thoughts and plot points and everything I want for her.
Also OC stuff. I've been having fun already over on my side-blog making a bunch of headcanons about the 2012 Foot Clan, which includes tentatively drafting characters to fill out the ranks. I can do more with that.
Also my 2012 mutant OC, and associated characters. I have a full-on story in my head to merge her with canon that might be fun to actually put out there.
Same with my Rise OC! Though that's admittedly less well developed. But just, in general, indulging the dreams of my teenage self and writing stories with all my OCs in it. You're never too old to live your dreams.
And there's! Probably more I'll come up with! My creative bandwidth is no longer constrained by this one project taking up more than half of it and the freedom is both exhilarating and daunting what do I do with myself???
Holy shit.

9 people you would like to get to know better
Thank you @lady-guts for tagging me! <333
1. 3 ships: Let's go with ones not (anymore) present on my tumblr: Thoman/Jimmy from Downton Abbey
Tumblr media
They were my first tumblr fandom and what got me into reading fanfiction for good. Some of the most memorable fics I've read are Thommy ones. So much wasted potential!
Mickey/Ian from Shameless US
Tumblr media
It's been some years and I never caught up with their storyline in the final seasons but they had quite the hold on me.
Christian/Syed from Eastenders
Tumblr media
I loved them so much. There might be some videos floating around YouTube with subs I (probably badly) translated into German if copyright strikes didn't get to them. But I hated their ending so much that some years later I was surprised to find out they hadn't actually died in some gruesome way which so many soap characters do but just moved to the US.
2. first ever ship: I couldn't say, there've been too many, and what constitutes as a proper ship? Perhaps one of the many soap opera couples I was obsessed with but even then I couldn't tell anymore which came first.
3. last song:
youtube
I came across it in my YouTube recommendations this evening and I quite like it, though it mainly caught my attention due to the very apparent debuccalization of s.
4. last movie: Two and One with Paolo Pangilinan from Gaya Sa Pelikula. Plotwise it fits the synopsis but also wasn't quite what I had imagined. I liked it but I haven't really dwelled on it and formed a proper opinion (yet).
5. currently reading: Nothing to be honest, not even fanfic. I have two books lying around with the intention of continuing to read them. I just about manage to keep up with fanfic updates, never mind starting new stories.
6. currently watching: I started rewatching (parts) of The Eclipse this evening. I am mainly after the Ayan/Akk scenes. I am also keeping up with Only Friends and My Personal Weatherman. And last week I started Okaeri Mone and, while I have only made a tiny dent in its 120 episodes so far, I am finding it to be utterly delightful and comforting in a way only Japan manages.
7. currently consuming: Food? Nothing. Last thing I had was a bar of my favourite chocolate.
8. currently craving: Murder. Bloodshed. Revenge. My asshole neighbour slammed his door as loudly as possible at 1 o'clock and I am out for blood. Or maybe I will destroy his door. Then he can't slam it either. Sleep would also be nice. But now I am too angry for that and plotting revenge. tagging @sorry-bonebag – Let's pretend you are 9 people in a trenchcoat. Always delighted to get tagged but tagging other people is excruciating, what if they find it annyoing?!

miraculous movie
disclaimer: i've only watched through season 3 of the series, with occasional episodes of 4 and 5.
POSTIVES:
Gabriel's character!! The reveal between him and Adrien and the utter devastation of finding out that you've been hurting your son for however long!
the animation is not just better than the show but actually good!
alya. ofc she's not gonna get as much time as the show, and she really could've gotten more, but the fact that she shows up and immediately attaches herself to the most diastrous person she can find so that she can be entertained is so real but also seeing that montage of her genuinely cheering marinette on was adorable. also. "we were made for each other". i do kinda ship them okay.
a coherent plot, with a specific ending. i also like how they didn't have marinette discover miraculous cure until the end. makes you kinda wonder how many people died and then came back though. rip gabriel when he watches the news about that.
NEGATIVES:
god this was a musical? why? the songs werent good (besides maybe you are ladybug) or memorable and they could've used that time for other stuff
like a third adrien and marinette scene. though i don't hate the lack of adrinette as much as others (adrinette inherently develops when ladynoir develops, since theyre the same people, so what if marinette's crush starts out pretty superficial, so does adrien's, it's okay if they mostly become closer as ladynoir) they still could've gotten more time
plagg
NEUTRALS:
marinette and adrien's relationship was just kinda okay in the movie. def better in the series, but the series has a lot more time so that's kinda understandable, still. i feel no specific way about them being a romantic couple
im going to be real, i won't likely watch all of the rest of miraculous, tho if something big happens ill keep watching those episodes.
miraculous had so much potential and realized part of it in the series, and a different part in the movies. but lets be real. the quality of the series and the quality of the movie both pale in comparison to the quality of good miraculous ladybug fanfics, of which there are a lot. the fandom is keeping this idea interesting and relevant, not the show or the movie. i love you miraculous fandom fr

Even a fanfic season of Enterprise is better than a 9/11 season
by Ames
Tumblr media
After the deplorable nationalist nightmare that was season 3 of Enterprise, pretty much anything would be an improvement. And the final season of the Trek prequel series was… fine, I guess? Under the eye of the late showrunner Manny Coto, the show got back to its roots. A lot. Sometimes too much. But it’s a prequel series after all and that was sort of its expectation, so ya know what, your hosts at A Star to Steer Her By can sort of forgive it.
Much of season 4 feels a little like fanfic, much of the season was made up of two- and three-parters, and the whole thing fizzled to a finale that most fans utterly deplore, but still. Better than season 3. So what did your SSHB hosts think of these last twenty-something episodes? Grab your ushaan-tor and find out below and on this week’s podcast episode (jump to 1:15:34 for season chatter) featuring bonus picks from guest star Liz! En garde!
Top Three Episodes
It was especially hard to come up with good episodes this season, partly because they all ran together in multi-episode arcs that were hard to pick apart, and partly because so much of it was very meh. So what rose to the challenge?
Tumblr media
“Borderland”: Caitlin The first three-part romp starts off with the potential to build to something decent (though you’ll see shortly that that doesn’t exactly come to pass). But the Enterprise folks knew enough about how to win our hearts: involve Brent Spiner! We’re really easy to please in that regard, and meeting a new Soong who loves to ham things up is enough to bring this episode to the tops list.
Tumblr media
“Cold Station 12”: Ames And Brent is even better in the second part of the Augments journey, so we’re seeing a little more representation of that arc here. Watching Soong reunite with his loser son Smike is touching enough on its own, but then he also grapples with his own ethics when he sees the delight that his other loser son Malik takes in torturing people. Just what is a mad scientist to do?
Tumblr media
“The Aenar”: Ames In a season that mostly scrapes by as “fine,” there aren’t a ton of standouts, so when the Aenar show up, at least they’re something original and interesting. This newly contacted race of blind telepaths who live under the ice proves engaging enough in an otherwise confounding three-parter. More of these guys and less of the Romulans, I say, which is normally sacrilege on this podcast.
Tumblr media
“United”: Chris, Jake You’ll notice that Chris and Jake overlap entirely in their tops picks this season, which seems like some kind of conspiracy to me. They’re getting along as well as Vulcans and Andorians and Tellarites in the middle of this confusing plot about Romulan nonsense, so that’s something. And as usual, Shran proves to be an utter delight even if his fight to the death with Archer ends in a cop out.
Tumblr media
“In a Mirror, Darkly”: Chris, Jake Chris has been bigging up this mirror universe claptrap literally since the start of this podcast eight years ago, and it turns out to be the campy nerdfest we all expected it to be. It’s definitely the most we’ve enjoyed the mirror universe since “Mirror, Mirror.” Even the title sequence gets in on the game! So if you like fun romps that are full of little easter eggs, this episode may be for you! (Chris is going to LOVE Lower Decks.)
Tumblr media
“Observer Effect”: Ames, Caitlin This one’s actually a super simple concept executed surprisingly well! It just goes to show that bottle episodes can be some of the best episodes because, rather than going all out on bells and whistles, the focus is more on characters, pacing, and filming technique, all of which “Observer Effect” excels at! The slow build of suspense is masterful, and every actor gets to play an Organian at one point or another. Fun!
Tumblr media
“Terra Prime”: Caitlin, Chris, Jake Many fans argue that this is where the whole series should have ended, and we’re inclined to agree. Sure, there’s a lot of fat to trim off of the two-parter that “Demons” and “Terra Prime” comprise, but who can say no to watching Peter Weller’s performance as the irredeemably xenophobic Paxton? We also appreciated some lovely work from Connor Trinneer and Jolene Blalock with their doomed baby thing.
Bottom Three Episodes
You’re going to see a couple of episodes with full sweeps from your hosts in the Bottoms list because, boy, were there some bad eggs this season. Not to mention that most of the two- and three-parters were unfortunately uneven as hell.
Tumblr media
“The Augments”: Jake Remember how the Augments arc started out with such potential? Well it doesn’t quite stick the landing in the final installment of that arc, which just became repetitive and full of more teenage angst. Sorry, but Malik just plain isn’t that interesting a character, let alone a villain. The whole batch of augmented kids start to feel too much like a drama on the CW, with not enough substance to carry three episodes.
Tumblr media
“Divergence”: Chris The main dumpster fire of the Klingon plot is the fully unnecessary retconning of why Klingon foreheads in The Original Series are smooth but in other series are ridged. It’s the answer to the question no one asked, and frankly makes us feel dumber for learning. Even Trip shimmying through space on a wire or some actual ethical character work from Phlox (for a damn change!) can’t save this awful premise.
Tumblr media
“Affliction”: Ames, Caitlin We’re not even done shitting on the Klingon augment virus two-parter, as both are represented on the bad list! We start the whole thing off with some preposterous set up which includes the utter retcon that Reed is an unwilling pawn of Section 31, which we’ve been frankly over since that catastrophe “Extreme Measures” in Deep Space Nine. And don’t worry: Paramount is going to force feed us more.
Tumblr media
“These Are the Voyages…”: Ames, Caitlin, Chris, Jake As promised, you have TWO episodes with sweeps, and this is one of them. Frequently voted as the worst of all Star Trek, the series finale is a slap in the face to any actual Enterprise fans out there (if there were any to begin with). But for Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis to basically take over the show just after it’s been canceled is rude as hell and does a disservice to the characters we’ve been following.
Tumblr media
“Bound”: Ames, Caitlin, Chris, Jake But I’ve saved this one for last because it’s so insulting. All the men on the Enterprise end up entranced by some Orion slave girls sexing up the place, which isn’t cringey enough on its own somehow that we’re forced to watch a full music video of them writhing around. But it’s okay after all! The writers have subverted the situation by making them empowered slave girls! Who just really like being slaves! What?
So long, NX-01! That’s all from the abruptly canceled Enterprise. We’ll never know if this show could have bounced back from some more mediocre ideas, generally unoriginal plots, and more Archer yelling at crewmen than we were expecting. There’s nothing left to do but check out our full series Top Five Star Trek ENT Episodes and Bottom Five Star Trek ENT Episodes blogposts. Keep following along here and on SoundCloud as the podcast prepares to move into less charted territory! Bounce a signal off Echo 1 over on Facebook and Twitter, and don’t give cheese to Porthos!

Date Night
(A Black Hat production for BBC Radio 4)
“DATE NIGHT, noun: A pre-arranged occasion when a couple who have been together for a long time commit to a regular night out in order to keep their relationship alive.”
The series follows a collection of couples who are desperately trying to keep their relationship functioning by creating a weekly date night intervention. For some, the relationship is already broken, for others it’s their pre-emptive strike in the hope of new-found longevity. More often than not, the stakes are high, involving children, careers and homes.

MW:   Yeah, you never had a Christmas card from the Chinese-
CT:     -Terry?
MW:   Yeah?
CT:     Are you going to comment on my appearance?
MW:   Oh, yeah, yeah. Uh… yeah, yeah, you look nice.
CT:     And what is you’re actually commenting on?
MW:   Oh. Urm…
CT:     Terry. Terry, there’s no point you looking at my shoes.
MW:   Well, I’m not, I’m just giving ‘em- Just trying to get back so I can take it in!
CT:     Don’t you know what is different about me?
MW:   Are you wearing different shoes?
CT:     Oh god, Terry-
MW:   -No, okay, no! Hold on, just give me a chance. Um…
CT:     Terry-
MW:   -Have you done something with your eyebrows? Are they higher?
CT:     How can my eyebrows be higher, Terry?
MW:   I don’t know, you might have had ‘em-
CT:     -How can my eyebrows be higher?
MW:   Because you might have had ‘em, you know… Threaded, whatever you do-
CT:     -No-
MW:   -and then had ‘em sewn back on, I don’t… I don’t know.
CT:     No, I haven’t had them threaded.
MW:   Okay, um…
CT:     And even if I had had them threaded, Terry, I usually have them threaded so that wouldn’t be something that’s different. I’m asking you what’s different about me today, for…
MW:   -Terri, please don’t say you’ve done your boobs.
CT:     What is the matter with you?
MW:   Well-
CT:     -Do you think I’ve just gone out, and quickly got a boob job?
MW:   Well, I just-
CT:     -What are you talking about? I be bandaged up!-
MW:   -that top is very tight and I’m just thinking, I don’t…
CT:     What, you think I’ve had my boobs done and I decided, in my recovery, to come out for a chicken korma?
MW:   Okay, alright, it’s not that. Am I getting close-
CT:     -….’sake.-
MW:   -am I in the right ball park? Is it in the chest area?
CT:     No, you’re not even in the right part of the body.
MW:   Oh, okay.
CT:     Oh, Terry, for god’s sake.
MW:   Well, no, that makes it a lot easier, I know what it is! You’ve done your hair, ain’t ya’?
CT:     Terry, for goodness sake! Look at my face and tell me what is different.
MW:   I’m looking, I am looking. Okay, um…
CT:     Are you pulling my leg? You must be.
MW:   Well give me a clue, at least!
CT:     The clue, is that I’m wearing glasses.
MW:   Oh, yeah, I thought-
CT:     -my god-
MW:   -I thought-
CT:     -thought what?
MW:   Your eyes looked bigger.
CT:     You thought my eyes looked bigger-
MW:   -yeah, well that-
CT:     -but you didn’t notice the glasses?
MW:   To be honest, I did clock ‘em, but then I thought-
CT:     -oh my-
MW:   -she can’t be talking about them, that’s way too obvious.
CT:     Oh really?
MW:   They’re brilliant, they suit ya’-
CT:     -But you didn’t think to comment?-
MW:   -Yeah, I like ‘em. They’re nice – sophisticated!
CT:     Yeah, they are, aren’t they?-
MW:   -Yeah.-
CT:     -And you know what they’re doing?
MW:   What?
CT:     They’re helping me see more clearly.
MW:   Oh, right.
CT:     Yeah, I’m seeing everything, crystal sharp, Terry.
MW:   Well that could be the glasses.
CT:     [groans]
MW:   It could be one of those, um…
CT:     Oh god.
MW:   You know, those optical illusions.
CT:     Terry, are you listening to me?
MW:   Yeah, I’m listening, yeah. What?
CT:     Our relationship, Terry.
MW:   Yeah.
CT:     Well, I’m seeing it. More clearly.
MW:   Oh.

the dd fanfic writers slowly fading is SO SAD to watch. like in january i used to refresh the mattfoggy tag on ao3 like 3 times a day and there would be several new fics every time, now there’s only like 1 fic every two days :(
I KNOW RIGHT!! I watched season 1 of Daredevil when it first came out but dropped off between seasons because there were other marvel things I was more interested in but the fact is that the fandom was active for way longer back then! Even though there was a "Daredevil Renaissance" it was incredibly short-lived and it sucks
actually, I've had this rant prepared for a long time so I'm sorry anon but I'm going to take your ask and run with it. So one of the bigger topics of discussion in fan studies is the shelf life of fandoms. Generally speaking, the fandoms that last the longest are serialized works. The best examples are tv shows: star trek, superwholock, x-files, etc. Why is this? the generally accepted answer is that there is a perfect balance of content and no content. You watch the episode and then you think about it for a week until the next one airs and the cycle repeats. You go see a movie, you'll think about it for a week maybe watch it again but eventually, you run out of things to think about. The formula for fandom is frustration+passion, enough time without content is going to increase frustration and diminish passion. This is why Harry Potter still has a thriving fanbase, the books were a series and the movies were a series, there's a lot of passion in the potential and the nostalgia and a fuck ton of frustration. So now that tv is less serialization and more binging, there's way too much content with no time to process it, audiences can find neither frustration nor passion, they simply binge.
okay but Daredevil was originally released as a binging series why did the fandom have such a short shelf life the second time around? Well for one, it's a good show and there was a lot of time between seasons. but two, the original fanbase probably watched marvel movies but they didn't have the mcu mindset yet. The mcu is serialized, it releases things with enough time between to process it but not so much time that you forget it exists, this should be the perfect Petri dish for fandom, right? My working theory is that the mcu is trying to have the best of both worlds with transformative and affirmational fans. There's plenty of merch to collect and trivia to memorize, but there are also lots of character moments and missing scenes to expand on in fic. I mean they even try to queerbait fans, they don't do it well, but they try. The mcu is trying to create the fandom of tv shows and movie franchises and they have, but the fandom model they really should be replicating is comics. Comics fans usually just have their one character or team and then are loosely aware of other things happening in the larger universe for whenever there's a company-wide event (which use to be few and far between but that's a different rant). Because comics are serialized and the big favorite characters were always going to have a book, transformative comic fans were small but consistent. But because the mcu are movie adaptations, they simply can't function like comic fandom. If you're watching the mcu, your fav may show up in a movie for a minute and that'll jump-start the fandom, but it doesn't change the fact that they haven't had a story or development since their last thing.
The mcu is huge, but it is migratory within itself (a largely unique and unstudied phenomenon in fan studies). Mcu fans engage with the mcu like it's a tv show, always waiting for the next episode or season, but because they're really so unconnected, so are the fan works. (this is not a dig at phase 4, this is a dig at the mcu as a whole because it can't tell a complete story like a tv show or film franchise without having one director and a start and an END point. It wants to be a film franchise and a comic book run, but it can't be both.) There's too much content demand of the audience and it's weird that it's all connected. It's weird that I have to watch the iron man movies to understand what's going on in the spider-man movies, that's not how it is in the comics, you just read the spider-man comics and maybe Tony Stark shows up and there will be a little foot note directing you towards the important iron man issues, but you frankly don't need to read them. There's too much content and fans can't possibly be invested in all of it. It's like if you were watching Supernatural and after season 3 we had to watch a prequel about Cas and it's only until two season of that, that Dean gets brought back, you probably wouldn't remember why you cared about Dean in the first place. Like audiences can only reasonably be invested in a team of 3 to 7 heroes, you could maybe push it to 9 or 10, but frankly, 5 is the sweet spot. Having over a dozen heroes that all have dynamics and stories is too much for me as a fan to keep up with and frankly it's too much for directors and writers to keep up with. There's so much happening all the time and there are wildly conflicting tones and fans are expected to not only watch it but remember it!
The Daredevil renaissance was over the minute the thor love and thunder trailer dropped because mcu fans are not behaving like comic book fans—picking and choosing a fav to stick with—but like tv fans. Mcu stans are fans of marvel movies first and their fav second. But like if you're a Daredevil fan—someone who likes gritty street-level heroes that are very grounding in personal drama—I wouldn't recommend high-concept sci-fi like thor or wandavison, I'd maybe tell you to watch falcon and the winter soldier, spy movies are kinda like detective crime thrillers, but there's nothing to keep you engaged with everything at least not in a transformative way. Like this method of producing content is great for people that want to watch movies once or twice and move on, but if you're someone that likes analysis and creation, you going to get burned out fast.
the problem is that there is too much content and not enough at the same time. The release schedule for phases five and six is terrifying, that's way too many movies at once. Even if by some miracle they are all high quality in every aspect, fans will not have enough time to thoughtfully think about it, discuss it, make fan works, and make decide what they want next, etc because the next thing will already be there. Like it's not marvel's job to cultivate a fandom, they want as much money as possible so more projects mean more ticket sales because people aren't seeing these movies twice in theaters. It's a cash cow and a terrible way to make art and it's disrespectful to the comics and all the creatives involved in the project. But hey that's capitalism baby. If you are really taken with a movie or show and you want to make a fan work for it, you'll have to do it fast for people to see it because they're only checking the tag for a week max. On the other hand, there's not enough content. There is a huge Moon Knight fan base and they're probably not going to get more content till phase seven. The show was good, but not cult classic good, no one will be around to watch the next season unless they give Moon Knight a cameo in one of the next movies. But at some point that gimmick is going to get old especially if it's like the Matt Murdock cameo in no way home because like...he didn't do anything, he wasn't important to the plot, there's nothing new to work with here.
like listen, Matt's going to get some more fics once She-Hulk airs and once Echo airs and he gets his own show, and freshmen year happens. Wait a second we're back at the too much content problem. All these projects are happening at the same time people are going to have so much Matt, but unless he's got a compelling story that runs through all those shows and changes him as a character, he's just another set piece no different than the glowing sky beam. All these projects have different writers and directors, mcu matt won't be Netflix matt (like god come on, that "I'm a really good lawyer" line was fun at the moment but when has matt ever said something like that in the show?) Comic fans understand that your fav is going to go do a team-up with another character and it's probably going to be out of character because it's a different author, hell sometimes your fav just has a terrible run and you IGNORE IT. You pick and choose canon with comic fandom especially when you're writing fic and you only want the storylines that respect the character and tell meaningful stories. Mcu fans haven't figured out how to do that because they have to watch everything and like everything or otherwise they've waste years of their life on this franchise. And it's like...yeah you have, these movies are military ads with a CGI coat of paint, but like sometimes a bad movie is just a bad movie and you either write a fix-it fic or you ignore it. Disrespectfully I ignore the entire comic civil war arc because I hate it and it's boring and spits in the face of a lot of growth and characterization (also Nick Fury makes Susan and Johnny Storm go undercover as husband and wife and it's like what the fuck marvel)
and so yeah. Bascially my point is that the mcu is trying to be both a comic franchise and a movie franchise but it is impossible with the constraints of the mediums and they should just commit to making good content even if it means that there's less of it. They need to find a way to assure fans that not everything needs to connect in a big cosmic plan, but it can still connect in a shared universe that feels lived in. Like I don't need Ms. Marvel to team up with Thor and Jessica Jones to fight Galaticus. like just let there be different levels of heroes and fans should just pick their favorite and stick with that. This as much content as fast as possible model may be good for making money in the short term but this will likely exhaust fans, affirmative and transformative alike, and will probably mean an unresponsive fan base in the future and this will result in fewer fans that they have to squeeze more and more money out of with no new fans coming in because you have to watch almost two decades of content (oh wow they're closer to the comic industry than I thought lmao)
yeah these fandoms have an incredibly short shelf life because Marvel doesn't take risks with their storytelling, there is no frustration or passion, only bright colors and flashing lights. Fans don't have time to develop complete thoughts about a work that goes past "I liked it" or "I didn't like it" much less develop their own creative work in response to it. the reason the Daredevil renaissance was so fun was that not only were people discovering this character for the first time, they were going back to old fanworks as well as making their own. Read old fanworks more often, I promise they're still good. That original Daredevil fanbase had lots of content stretched out for a long period of time, they had time to sit with it and think about it and analyze and create about it. But the mcu fanbase does not allow that because there's always the shiny new toy and as a fan creative, it's discouraging knowing that if I just got this fic out a month earlier people would have cared. So you stop posting because suddenly there's no passion, only frustration.

The Owl House and pacing, a perspective from a fanfic writer that works with a large cast
I’ve seen a bunch of complains about the way The Owl House is paced lately. People claiming that it’s bad writing, and rushed, and whatnot. But from how I see it, you’re complaining for all the wrong reasons, and to the wrong people.
TL;DR: this is an overlaying issue with Disney and the industry that doesn’t allow long shows anymore, essentially forcing writers to pick between good pacing and complex stories being told with large casts.
For context: the fandom I wrote for before I got into The Owl House had a pretty small main cast. There were a few reoccurring characters, but most of them only showed up like five total times over the course of four seasons or had little personality, so my main cast I was writing about always consisted of my main five characters, with occasional cameos here and there. All characters were living together and experienced the adventure from the same perspective. There was one overarching storyline and not multiple. The interpersonal relationships still varied, though, for obvious reasons.
Now think about how large The Owl House cast is, and why that’d send them running into issues. Or don’t, because I have a whole-ass in depth analysis under the cut because this got unreasonably long.
(Also I’d appreciate a reblog, I spent… an unreasonable amount of time on this, lol)
The Owl House is different. There’s the main characters: Luz, Eda, King, maybe Hooty, technically (someone recently pointed out that he’s technically the titular character of the show and I’m still processing that, lol).
But they also have a HUGE additional cast to work with. There’s Lilith, Eda’s sister, and the main antagonist of season one, who has a lot to her character and gets a ton of screen time. There’s Amity, and there’s Willow and Gus, Luz’s friends. They’re all very fleshed out characters, and got a bunch of screen time and development, despite “only” being reoccurring characters and not the main characters.
Then there’s characters that have played a fairly minor role so far. There’s Belos, the big bad villain, who we will likely learn a lot more about this season. There’s the Golden Guard, the new main antagonist our cast deals with personally, who we’re just starting to learn more about. There’s Camila, Luz’s mom, who, despite only showing up a couple of times in the show so far, is very relevant to Luz and how the plot will ultimately turn out. There’s Edric and Emira, Amity’s siblings, who despite only showing up a few times as well seem to have a very worked out personality and background and also have a story that is (at least to some extent) going to be told according to the AMA.
There is at least one more seemingly important character whose role in the bigger story is hard to tell at this point, Raine, but according to the description of the episode, they’re probably going to influence the story a bunch.
There’s Alador and Odalia, who are responsible for a lot of their children’s toxic behaviors, and seem to have bigger plans that will probably be relevant later on.
The characters that are only focused on for an episode or two (like Matt and the troublemaker kids) all have very worked out personalities and even short arcs.
And heck, even characters like Boscha, who is extremely minor and seems like a very one-dimensional bully for the most part, get their moments that hint at there being more to them. We know Boscha has a clingy mom, that apparently has a rivalry with Odalia and works with Amity’s parents. The scene at the beginning of Wing It Like Witches tells us a lot about her general mindset and how she’s embraced that winning at whatever cost is the only thing that matters.
This leaves us with: 3-4 main characters
3 friends with fleshed out stories
Lilith, who is probably the most relevant aside from the main cast
Belos, the main antagonist, and the Golden Guard, currently starting to become a lot more relevant
A whole handful of minor reoccurring characters that have the potential to become bigger characters at any point in time
A handful of minor reoccurring characters that mainly seem to be there to further the story, but still get to have distinctive personalities and motivations (looking p.e. at the troublemaker kids)
That is AT LEAST 9 pretty major, relevant characters whose stories have to be tackled in the same show, in addition to the people that joined in season two and a huge supporting cast of well-developed characters that clearly also have stories of their own, even if not all of them will get told.
On top of that, the Owl House lives from exploring different relationships and different storylines. There’s the overarching story of how flawed the system is that will likely end with them overthrowing Belos, but there’s so much more.
Eda and the curse. Eda becoming a better mentor for Luz. Eda coming to terms with the loss of her magic.
Luz learning to cast magic with glyphs. Making friends for the first time. Slowly falling in love with Amity. Fighting to be able to learn whatever kind of magic she wants to. Learning that she’s not a burden to people. Struggling with her relationship with her mom, and trying to restore the portal so she can get back to her. Figuring out her future and what she really wants.
Lilith trying to cure Eda, and now in season two coming to terms with the loss of her magic and fixing her relationship with her sister. Lilith learning to ask for help.
Willow switching tracks. Willow growing more confident.
Amity becoming a better person, fixing her relationship with Willow, standing up to her parents, falling in love with Luz. Starting to fix her relationship with her siblings.
King finding out where he came from.
Hints at Gus struggling with decision making and stressing himself out less. Gus learning to be more selfless. Struggling with his magic track and being the youngest in his grade.
The newly introduced plot point with the Golden Guard. The plot point about the rebellion that will get introduced next episode.
The mystery with the letters.
And I’m like 90% sure I’ve forgotten something.
That is… a lot of different plots and relationships that are in some way important to the story.
In comparison, as stated, the last show I wrote for focused mostly on the same five characters and their relationships with each other, and one overarching plotline aside from some minor interpersonal relationships with two people’s family members that weren’t even introduced for several seasons. The first season fully focused on establishing the bond within this found family with exactly 1 important reoccurring character, an antagonist that had little personality and got a total of one line of backstory before he died.
If you have 90% of a season to develop 5 characters who live together, that’s a lot easier to do than developing twice the amount of important characters + introducing reoccurring characters season one of The Owl House has—the majority of which have separate lives and do not live together and thus can’t be focused on at the same time.
I’ve seen a bunch of people complain recently that the pacing of The Owl House is off, that the writing is bad, that the show is rushed, etc. etc.
And I get those complains. Believe me, as a viewer and also as an author that takes a lot of time to develop each character and their issues individually, I 100% get it.
But as an author that’s currently learning how hard it is to tackle a cast of the size that The Owl House has, I’ve also come to a whole different understanding from the perspective of the writers on the show.
For context, Locked Out focuses on a couple of serious themes, in the same way that the show does. It has 4 main plotlines: Amity Camila and Luz, Edric and Emira, Eda and Lilith, Willow and the Grudgby Squad (as well as a Gus arc that ties into the last one while also being its own thing, we’re getting to that part). So far, it prominently features: Luz, Amity, Camila, Eda, Emira, Edric, Willow and Gus, and to a lesser extent King, Lilith and Boscha, Skara and Amelia in relation to the separate plots.
That’s eight main characters across five different households. And then there’s the reoccurring characters that will have a larger role later on that I’ve not even had the opportunity to bring into the story yet/feature in a more prominent way. The cast is still growing.
And heck, I have all the time in the world to write this thing, because I don’t have an episode limit, or a deadline, or a limited amount of money to produce it.
For Locked Out, it took me 120k to get through a single week of plot at a very high level of character development, with about as many important characters as TOH has in season 1, and with an equally high number of reoccurring characters, some minor, some major. I think you can compare it to the show pretty well. I’d say, if I were to split Locked Out into episodes, I’d set one episode at about 10k. That would be 12 episodes. 12 episodes to get through a single week. Heck, even if I said 20k words were to be one episode, which I’m pretty sure is too much realistically, that would still be 6 episodes for one week.
And TOH covers more than three months.
That would be at least 72 total episodes to get through the three months of summer camp. And we’re currently progressing past that point.
72 episodes.
Let that sit for a while o.o
Everything that’s happened in season one (which as we know now was about 2 months) would have happened in 48 episodes rather than 19. Pacing-wise, everything would happen at less than 0.5x the speed. The first four episodes of season two would’ve been 24 episodes, assuming we hadn’t skipped a week and a half and had instead shown the immediate aftermath of the petrification ceremony, too.
And I’d love if we could have that, and if we could actually develop the characters and their relationships that thoroughly.
But the sad fact is that shows like The Owl House do not get the amount of episodes that would be required to develop every single aspect of the show to its fullest potential. Disney rarely greenlits shows of 150 episodes anymore. They used to, once, (Phineas&Ferb for example had 130+ episodes—you could tell one hell of a story in that many episodes), but that’s not a thing anymore. And the writers know that going into a show. They know the chances their story will be told in that way are very low.
And thus, the writers, especially ones working with large casts, have to make a choice: cut characters they love, and plots that are important to them, because they know they won’t get the amount of episodes required to do everything perfectly, OR include most of what they want to do, but at the cost of the pacing being off and everything seemingly happening too fast.
The Owl House crew went with the second option. The biggest issue the show has isn’t bad writing. The show’s biggest issue is that its cast and the story the crew members want to tell are too big for the amount of episodes they’ve been given (especially now that Disney decided to cut season 3 down into just three 44 minute specials).
And that’s on Disney, and Disney alone.
The crew is making the most of the amount of episodes they have, and unfortunately the lack of time forces them to rush things, and to sometimes sideline characters to focus on others.
Lilith got a bunch of screen time in the first four episodes. I’m sad to see her go, but she’s basically guaranteed to be back by season 2B. And there’s other people that have gotten way less focus than her so far. We‘ve seen basically nothing of Willow and Gus for the first few episodes, and I’m super happy Gus finally got some focus! We haven’t been inside Hexside all season except to see Luz expelled! And episode seven is even going to introduce a new character. Sometimes there’s parts of the story that certain characters don’t have a place in. And it sucks if they’re characters you like. But Lilith has to go for a bit so other characters can get the same amount of spotlight she did. At the end of the day, Lilith is not part of the main cast. She’s a very important reoccurring character, yes, but so are Amity, Willow and Gus. The main characters are Eda, Luz and King, and they’re the only ones that will always be around. And heck, even Eda got sidelined for a bit in the last two episodes, because we needed to focus on other characters. If not even the main characters are always around because we need some spotlight time for other characters, you can’t expect any more minor reoccurring cast member to be.
God, I wish they’d be given more time and more episodes to bring every part of the plot to its full potential, but they don’t have those, so they sometimes have to take shortcuts that unfortunately cheapen the story here and there. It’s the only way they can hope to tell their story to the end at all. And that makes me hella sad because it’s so obvious that they have an incredible story to tell, and that there’s so much more to so many of the characters we just don’t have the time to focus on.
The thing is: I liked the episode with Gwendolyn. It sends an important message that will hopefully get some parents who watch with their children thinking, and I’ve seen a couple of people talk about how close to home it hit for them. I have also seen a couple of people complain about that being too fast—and also just in general about things in the show getting sorted out too fast. And I get it. At least with this particular episode, I 100% get it.
(I’ve also seen some people complain that “Amity stood up to her parents too fast in Escaping Expulsion”, but I vehemently disagree with that. We’ve been building towards that moment since season one, with her doing more and more things that were technically defying her parents. I don’t see how this was rushed.)
Just… please don’t blame the writers. Dana even said that Keeping Up A-Fearances is one of the episodes that hit very close to home for her in the recent stream iirc? So I highly doubt this was rushed on purpose, or because the whole thing is “bad writing” when the entire writing quality of the show says otherwise.
A lot of shows in general have the issue that they have to be written season by season rather than as a full story these days, because there’s always a chance that they won’t get a next season. How large scale the story they want to tell actually is doesn’t matter if there’s a solid chance they won’t get to do any of it.
From a viewer perspective, I get being frustrated at the pacing being off. But from a writer perspective, the chances are very high that this is a choice they had to make, rather than one they wanted to make. And I don’t think you can truly see this if you’ve never worked with a fleshed out cast that large—Locked Out was really eye-opening for me in that regard.
This isn’t simply a case of bad writing/bad pacing by choice. It’s forced. They’re forced to rush through their plots because otherwise they won’t get the chance to tell certain parts of the story at all. And the saddest thing about this is really that those 72+ episodes to flesh out these plot points further wouldn’t have been an impossible thing to get, at a time.
Go for Disney’s head. Yell at the industry for being what it is today, for constantly axing shows before even giving them a real chance. But this isn’t on the crew.

Season 4 Episode Batch 2
Who’s up for round two???
So as I mentioned in this post, I’ve got summaries for all the episodes in my hypothetical season 4 for Big Hero 6: The Series--got the first batch done, now it’s on to the second batch, which leads us up to the mid-season finale. \.o./
4.7 – Mesquite Makes Good Barbecue – Mizquito makes another appearance, causing mayhem at the mall to disguise her true target, several federal buildings.  She’s not alone this time, enlisting the help of Vaquero Kozo to distract Big Hero Three.
4.8 – The Return of Captain Cutie – Karmi gets writer’s block and asks Hiro for help, to Hiro’s chagrin and Fred’s glee.  They talk and bond over the new fanfic, which reviewers call her best yet.
4.9 – Unplugged – The San Fransokyan Big Heroes attempt to get the mascots back with the help of High Voltage, only for Hardlight, an upgraded Mel, Bakemono and Yokai to intervene.
4.10 – Tantei Noir – Megan investigates the jailbreak and tries to determine what the end game is, much to her father’s chagrin.  She and Hiro investigate Good Luck Alley, where they have a run-in with Yama and Trina, who is trying to recruit Yama.  Meanwhile, a shaken Mel tries to surrender to Cruz, only to be stopped by Bakemono.
4.11 – Viva la Villain – Jose Arango is revealed as the villain Goto Bandido as Hiro, Baymax and Fred are visiting, much to Honey Lemon’s devastation.  Big Hero Six has to stop an attempt on the local power plant, assisted by Sheriff Andarin, who tells them that Austinbul takes ‘a much different stance on heroes than where you’re from.’
4.12 – Dark Volt [mid-season finale] – Boss Awesome attempts to contact his family only for the transmission to be intercepted and corrupted.  More villainy.  Baron Von Steamer is captured and gives a cryptic warning.  The villains are revealed to be working for the big bad of the season, Dark Volt, who plans to bring the country to its knees, starting with San Fransokyo.
So as you can see, we have more episodes set in Austinbul, which pleases me, and more episodes focusing on Karmi, High Voltage, and Megan--again I made sure the character appearances were spread out throughout the season and not stacked up one on top of the other, so hopefully we avoid the feeling of being rushed.  Also a way for Boss Awesome to make an appearance even without Stan Lee. ;^;/
And then our big bad of the season, Dark Volt!  The second season really felt like it was trying to set him up as the next big villain, but then season 3 and executive meddling happened, so that potential story arc got canned.  Again though, that’s why we have fanfiction. \.o./

Digiweek 2021 - Day 4: Dark / Light
So if I had to pick a favorite Digimon villain, it would probably be Pinocchimon, however I already posted a pretty in depth analysis of his character during Odaiba week 2016 (here’s a link, if people are interested: https://picodart.tumblr.com/post/148422213160/todays-theme-is-unsung-heroes-and-villains )
One of the prompts for this week however, was heroes turning bad or villains turning good. Now there are several villains that have switched sides in the Digimon anime: Ogremon, Ken, BlackwarGreymon, Oikawa, Beelzemon, Yamaki, Zhuquiaomon, Koichi, Cherubimon etc.
But if had to pick villains who I think genuinely had the POTENTIAL to become good, had things gone differently, but sadly never got the chance, it would be these two goofballs:
Tumblr media
I cant realistically see Devimon, Vamdemon, the Dark Masters or even Etemon becoming good guys, but I could totally see it happening with Arachnemon & Mummymon, when you take several things into consideration.
1. Mummymon really doesn’t seem all that evil. In fact one gets the impression that if Arachnemon (who he is in love with) and Oikawa (who created him and is his boss) weren’t around, the guy really wouldn’t have much of a reason to fight against the Chosen Children in the first place. Pleasing them is literally his whole motivation.
3. As crueland sadistic as Arachnemon can be, she’s still more humorously portrayed than a lot of other villains. And heroes with sadistic personality traits aren’t completely unheard of in anime (Dr. Stein from Soul Eater, Midnight from My Hero Academia, Akeno Himejima from High school DxD, Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom etc.) so her becoming a good guy doesn’t seem completely out of the question.
2. Oikawa, their boss and creator, repents not long after their deaths. Which brings into question how things would have gone for them had they survived to the end of the series.
3. Though in the dub of Digimon Adventure their is a line about Arachnemon and Mummymon being born from the darkness and twisted desires of Oikawaor something (its been awhile since I’ve seen the dub) implying they are inherently evil, this line is more ambiguous in the original, Oikawa hallucinating them mocking him saying they are ugly because that reflects his true form. Its obvious this is just Oikawa losing going through a mental breakdown.
In reality, despite being perfect level Digimon, you could make the argument that they essentially children, having been created by Oikawa not long before the series takes place. When BlackwarGreymon confronts them and Oikawa in episode 46, Oikawa reveals he created them using his DNA, and its implied they they themselves don’t even remember this, nor were they aware of it, meaning they simply remember obeying Oikawa all their lives. Later on Mummymon questions whether that makes them Digimon, Human, or neither, and Arachnemon simply responds “Don’t think too hard about it. even if you do, you won’t get anywhere.
Basically these two have been following orders all their lives, not really thinking much about their own ambitions or what they want out of life.
4. Their deaths. The scene is clearly meant to paint them in a sympathetic light, and is easily the saddest death of a villain that never technically switched sides. Arachnemon is horribly tortured, and Mummymon is forced to watch. then Mummymon becomes so enraged over the woman he loved being killed. He attacks BelialVamdemon, knowing full well that he has no chance of winning. He doesn’t care, he has nothing left to live without her. Even the chosen kids, whom Arachnemon and Mummymon have tried killing several times, are horrified by this, but are too terrified to do anything.
If any Digimon Villains deserved a redemption arc, it was them. I personally am not a fanfic writer, an AU where the Chosen Children save them from BelialVamdemon and then fight alongside them would be a fascinating read. Also, considering how Oikawa dies shortly after, imagine how tragic that would be. How would they react. They mostly saw Oikawa as their “master” rather than their father, but his did create them, and they’ve known him all there lives. Would Oikawa apologize for treating them so dismissively over the years before passing? Would they join Iori in mourning his death? Would they be friends afterwards?
A big part of Iori’s character arc WAS about learning forgiveness and not looking at things in a black and white manner, starting with being the last person to forgive Ken, then the first person to emphasize with BlackWarGreymon, and ended with his connection to Oikawa (He even becomes a defense attorney in the epilogue, one of the few future careers that had some thematic sense) Having him be friends with Arachnemon and Mummymon would be another interesting way to continue that theme. (Also imagine them meeting Iori’s grandfather, and asking about what their former “master” was like as a kid.) I think that idea has a lot of potential

OTP Tag Game
I really needed a distraction today and I saw some other people doing this game and it looked fun. I won't tag people because it's long but please do it and tag me if you want! Rules: pick your 10 favorite ships (can be in random order) and then answer the questions. Choose ships before reading the questions! 1. Romanogers - Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff (MCU) 2. Huntingbird - Bobbi Morse/Lance Hunter (Agents of Shield) 3. Seeley Booth/Temperance Brennan (Bones) 4. Keenler - Elizabeth Keen/Donald Ressler (The Blacklist) 5. Olicity - Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak (Arrow) 6. Jisbon - Theresa Lisbon/Patrick Jane (The Mentalist) 7. Percabeth - Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase (PJO) 8. Hodgela - Angela Montenegro/Jack Hodgins (Bones) 9. Thea Queen/Roy Harper (Arrow) 10. Dousy - Daisy Johnson/Daniel Sousa (Agents of Shield)
1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6? Technically I shipped Jisbon before watching the show because my best friend watched it and would recount the angst of them still not being together to me every week on our walk to school. I think the first episode I watched was actually the first episode they kissed and I was in love but I didn't actually watch the show for many years. But yeah, I shipped them the entire time I was watching the show. I really fell in love with their dynamic though around season 3 or 4. 2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2? Uh Yes. A lot 😅 I've also wrote several Huntingbird fics. @bobbiamorse is my favorite Huntingbird author so everyone should check out their fics! 3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/Tumblr screen saver? No, but to be fair I never have couples as my profile pic or anything. If I had a Blacklist specific blog though, Elizabeth Keen would definitely be my profile pic and Keenler might be my banner 4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be? I would be devastated. Rick Riordan put them (and me) through way too much pain for them to not get a happy ending. No. I refuse to believe that Percabeth isn't endgame. 5. Why is 1 so important? Because they are perfect. Their relationship was underrated but their chemistry was off the charts. They may have never got together in the movies but every single scene they had together was impactful. CAtWS was a phenomenal movie, "I didn't want you to be alone", the 2 years on the run, the 5 years after the snap, "see you in a minute", Steve saying they were her family. All of these moments (and many more) were so small but packed a huge punch. I know people liked their friendship but they literally embodied everything I love in a good OTP. Natasha is also one of the most underrated MCU heroes despite being one of the original 6 Avengers. And Steve Rogers/Captain America is the hero I strive to be. We have similar personalities and he's probably my second fav hero after Nat. So the pair together just meant a lot to me and I love them
6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship? Roy and Thea are a serious ship and didn't get the love they deserved! I know they were both background characters but in general, I think the writers dropped the ball a lot when it came to their potential. The one later season episode where Roy came back was like a balm for my shipper heart and I will stand by that they eventually found each other again and got back together. 7. Out of all of the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry? That’s. This one is tough. Top 3 is definitely Olicity, Dousy, and Romanogers. All 3 of these, I started shipping almost instantly which I think speaks to chemistry. Dousy had less than 10 episodes between meeting and getting together and yet it was one of the most authentic relationships on the show in my opinion. The relationship was shocking but so perfect and natural. Plus, seeing Daisy happy was exactly what I needed from the last season. Romanogers I already discussed but yeah, I think they have a lot of chemistry because every interaction had so much emotional meaning to it. Olicity has to make the list though because they were the first ship I fell in love with purely through a mutual's tumblr posts. Long before I watched the show, I shipped Olicity because every gif made of them (before they were even together in the show) had them displaying so much love for each other. Even the writer's acknowledged that their chemistry is the only reason Felicity became a regular cast member instead of a rare background character. 8. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond? I feel like almost all of them have incredibly strong bonds forged by years of friendship and partnership in highly dangerous scenarios. But for this question, I will say Booth/Brennan, Keenler, and Jisbon have the strongest bonds considering it took 6-8 seasons of them being FBI partners before they finally admitted their feelings. They all exhibit unwavering trust in their partner and a willingness to do almost anything for their protection. Their bond goes far deeper than their romance. (And I totally could have also thrown Romanogers in here but I've said my thoughts on them) 9. How many times have you read/watched 10s fandom? I don't even know how many times I've watched AoS at this point 😂 At least 3ish full rounds and several partial rounds. But I've only watched season 7 twice. 10. Which ship has lasted the longest? I think that award has to go to Angela/Hodgins and Booth/Brennan although they have the unfair advantage of having 12 seasons lol. Angela and Hodgins technically have a season on Booth/Brennan but considering they got less focus, I'm saying their equal. 11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up? 0 unless you count Jane running away in a panic them breaking up but I don't really consider that since they were married a few episodes later. 12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8? Almost definitely Bobbi and Hunter. As much as I love Angela and Hodgins, Bobbi and Hunter are trained spies and have seen a lot of weird crap. 13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason? Did they hide their feelings from themselves? Yes. Hide their relationship from others? No. They kissed and got thrown in a lake for the best underwater kiss ever. 14. Is 4 still together? This question is rude and I take personal offense to it. 😭😭😭 Listen, Keenler is together in my heart but unfortunately, the writer's are cruel, evil people who wanted to make fans hate their show by killing off the main character. I have refused to watch the current season because of this. #ElizabethKeenDeservedBetter 15. Is 10 canon? Yup! Only two ships on this list aren't canon but luckily, Dousy is one of them and they are kicking butt in space on the SWORD team 16. If all 10 ships were out into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win? This is way too hard considering most of them are some type of superhero/spy/FBI agent. I would guess that Romanogers, Huntingbird, and
Percabeth would make it the longest but who would win among them is totally up in the air. 17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship? Um yeah, Oliver and Felicity 😂 Like yes others tried to use the other for pain purposes but no one was better at sabotaging their relationship as themselves. See Seasons 3, 4, 5 and bits of others for prime examples. 18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond? ALL OF THEM! There is not one ship on this list that I don't firmly believe belong together and were good for each other. I wouldn't consider them OTPs if I wasn't ready to go to battle for them 19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s Tumblr page? From time to time, yes. Unfortunately, Bones has not been airing new eps since 2017 so their isn't new (canon) content to fill my soul but Bones is my comfort show so whenever I need a pick me up, I will go through the tag. 20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink? Unfortunately probably Thea/Roy. I think technically they weren't even back together when the show ended. Which means they've already been apart for years so as much as my shipper heart loves to believe that Thea went back for Roy like people suggested, I would be okay with that never happening if it meant my other ships got their happy endings (which several did not. grrr)
This was extremely fun and just the distraction I needed. I told myself I wouldn't let this get too long but with 20 questions, it was kind of unavoidable.

ZFAW Fan Content Creator Interviews: HayleyNFoster
Hey everyone! We hope you’re all excited for ZFAW, and to honor (ha!) ZFAW’s commitment to supporting and celebrating fan content creators in the Zutara fandom, we’re going to be rolling out a series of interviews with well-known and widely-beloved content creators over the next few weeks. We’ve got artists and fanfiction authors, some names you recognize as well as a few phenomenal up-and-coming talents, and we can’t wait for you to meet them all!
For the second interview in this cycle, we have our best propaganda creator and this fandom’s hottest new artist/undisputed queen of the animatic, @hayleynfoster!
1. Tell us about how you came to ship Zutara. What does this ship mean to you?
When I was around 14 or 15 and caught Avatar: The Last Airbender on television, I was drawn in by the art style, the humor, and the wonderful characters. I caught the episodes out of order, and the first one I saw and wasn’t prepared to be sucked in by was The Waterbending Scroll. It intrigued me at that age, and the line “I’ll save you from the pirates” combined with the tension between Katara and Zuko in that whole scene was electrifying. I remember my teenage self thinking these two have so much chemistry! And when I saw a commercial on Nickelodeon that featured fanart submitted by fellow Avatar fans, I realized that I could do that to! So I set about making Zutara fanart for myself. I stumbled onto Youtube, practically in its infancy, and discovered that people set clips of Zuko and Katara set to music (And this was still in season 1 days… so people who made these amvs were the real mvps because they were able to make compelling narratives in their amvs with like practically nothing to work with!). The AMVs really spurred my interest in this couple, I remember distinctly one Zutara AMV using the Dido song White Flag utterly capturing my imagination. I found fandom shortly after, getting into deviantart and forums. But the ship really began to mean something to me when, as I was working on my drawings in the computer lab at school, a buoyant presence hovered over my shoulder noticing my Zutara art on the computer screen. The girl was someone I had never really talked to and had only seen from afar but she immediately started excitedly saying she shipped Zuko and Katara too! In this simple shared obsession, I made one of the best friends I’ve ever had and we’re still friends to this day. We would theorize and fangirl over Avatar like it was nobody’s business; we poured over bootleg San Diego Comic Con footage that showed spoilers for season 2 before it aired; we lost our freaking minds when we finally saw The Crossroads of Destiny. We had watch parties every week as Season 3 of A:TLA aired, and comforted each other when the show ended as it did (much ranting was shared). Those are some of my happiest memories from high school… all because this one pairing from this wonderful show. Even though Zutara didn’t happen, we still chat every now and then about it. Zutara will probably be a lifelong obsession, always bubbling under the surface. And without it, I would have never realized that animation was a viable career path. It really did inspire everything including the work I’m doing to this day in the animation industry. I owe a lot to this ship and to Avatar: the Last Airbender.
2. What inspires you to create zutara fanworks?
The resurgence of Avatar: The Last Airbender this year really helped sort of spark that dormant love I had for Zutara. The show’s ending still disappointed me on the rewatch, but Zuko and Katara’s relationship arc was as captivating as ever, so I turned to some fanfiction and looking at people’s pretty Zutara art and AMVs to just revel in fanon instead of getting to hung up on the actual ending of the show. But then I realized, with quarantine and my work load being pretty light, I had time to actually make all new Zutara art for myself, art I was never fully capable of making as a kid, but now could do with my 7 years of industry experience and just… life experience. And I was inspired to do some corrective animatics to satisfy my own desire for a different ending. I just really like exploring these two characters, doing different and interesting things with them, and frankly I’m inspired to make cute, fluffy, romantic art simply by virtue of living in a really sad and depressing world. Things are so crazy right now, creating art about two characters I love being in love, is comforting. And it helps to have inspiring music and amazing Zutara amvs to just sort of stir up my emotions and imagery in my head to make into animatics and art.
3. Be selfish - if you could request one fanwork based on your own art/fanfic, what would it be? What would you absolutely love to see someone create?
Ohhhh… Well, It’s always nice to have people write fanfiction that puts words to my animatics. I am not that great at coming up with dialog myself, so I’ve just chosen to indulge in visuals and emotions for my boards. But when I read things like RideBoldlyRide’s take on my Reunion Animatic, it makes me pretty giddy. (They finally have voices!) :) And this is the MOST selfish thing I could request, but I’m not shy about saying how much I love well done amvs, so I will literally kill for someone to make Zutara AMVs to songs I like… Like, most of AURORA’s songs but especially Exist for Love, Sunseeker by The Naked and Famous, Promises or Take Me by Aly & AJ, Adore You by Harry Styles, Human Enough by ONR, Never Let Me Go by Florence + The Machine, and/or Almost (Sweet Music) by Hozier just… I can see the AMVs so clearly to any of these songs in my head, but I don’t have the tools or skill set at my disposal to make a compelling fan video. When I was in high school, I originally thought I wanted to go into video editing simply because I loved making very crappy AMVs (they were so bad you guys), but I figured out being a storyboard artist was more in my wheelhouse. haha
4. Any words for people who are new to the fandom and/or nervous about sharing their work for the first time?
If you’re new to the Zutara fandom, just have a good time! Don’t waste too much time arguing with people over your shipping preferences. I wasted so much of my teen years having pointless shipping wars with people on DeviantArt, and I’m just so much happier nowadays because I’m just making Zutara art in my little corner of the internet, and honestly, in the politest of ways, I don’t give a shit if people don’t like my art or Zutara. haha I think that’s sort of a key thing for people thinking of posting creative works here in the fandom, just make art for yourself, satisfy your own desires for the pairing, get your creative sparks flying, and create just for the joy of creating. It’s always nice to get comments and such, but simply making the art should be what spurs you on, not the external validation. And have a good time, don’t worry too much - I say as someone who worries about EVERYTHING. But honestly, making art for A:TLA is some of the most relaxed I’ve been because I make it just for me. I’m lucky others seem to like it too!
5. What’s an idea for a fanwork that you have but haven't gotten around to making?
I have an idea for a second generation storyline with my Zutara kids that involves Kya (the eldest firebending daughter) falling in love with an airbender boy (tentatively named Gora in my headcanon who’s a bit of a rabble rouser and one of Aang’s kids he had with a Kyoshi Warrior), and then they start a socialist revolution in the Fire Nation in order to dismantle all of the hierarchical societies across the Avatar world… Together Kya and Gora Fan the Flames of revolution… ehhhhh... Get it?? Oh! Oh, and then Katara, who had put in legit liberal reforms in her time as Fire Lady listens to her daughter after resisting in the first part of the story, but then realizes she can actually play a part in the dissolution of the royalty and is also active in the revolution realizing that moderate liberal reforms are no substitute for a society free of serving royalty (which she had always been uncomfortable with but had rationalized with herself that she was doing good in her capacity as Fire Lady.) I just feel like there’s a lot of cool potential for discussing these ideas and also having some aspirational change in the Avatar world. lol For aesthetics and just happy fluffy times, I can indulge in Fire Lady and Fire Lord Zuko stuff, but really at the end of the day, I take issue with the structures in a society that have to exist for monarchies to exist. Soooo, I kind of want to do my own corrective story for that… if I ever have the time or guts. On a less ambitious note, I would love to do a Zutara sparring animatic to practice doing action, but I need a good story; I am not good at doing fights just for fighting’s sake. Those are just some things I have rattling around in my head.
6. Are you participating in ZFAW? If so want to give us a hint as to your plans?
Yes! The most I can say is I have one animatic almost finished and one that’s still being thumbnailed. The rest are probably going to be comics or emotive single pieces based on the fanfics I really like right now. :)

rating my old wattpad drafts/stories
This is just gonna be one long self callout post but I do think it's gonna be funny
"Persona 5 oneshots" (published) - actually pretty decent for what it is but there's only three published parts. fortunately the published ones are actually better than the three unpublished drafts oof- 7/10
"🥺ruv" (draft) - I don't want to talk about this and also I put way too much effort into attempting Russian dialogue 1/10
"The Queen {Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor x Reader}" (published) - out of every fic I've ever written and across every fanfiction platform I've used, this is the most successful fic. I've held the number one spot in several tags and still hold high spots 1000/10
"ni no kuni ii revenant kingdom oneshots" (published) - 10/10 only because I could not for the life of me find any nnk2 fanfiction out there so I wrote my own (it's not good though, although I am using it as a fandomswap AU with bnha)
"The Contract" (draft) - it had potential when it was just a concept but execution was terrible. It took a turn for the worse and now has the same vibes as being sold to one direction. the plot was sign this contract and you marry loki and teach him earth etiquette so he doesn't go on an alien murder rampage again 0/10
"Loki x reader bumbles" (draft) - what the fuck is a bumble? it ended up splitting into three different fics all at once and they were all bad. One was overworked maid reader is assigned as loki's personal caretaker, one was Tony stark's little sister babysits loki on the regular while the avengers are out Doing Thingsᵀᴹ (that one was titled trash gremlin), and the other was Loki finds out his lover lied to him about her past and gets mad at her and she breaks down and goes into a coma for hundreds of years and when she reawakens Asgard is destroyed and Loki's dead 2/10
"multifandom oneshots requests only" (unpublished) - it ruined my life -1000/10
"a foreign trickster" (draft) - 9/10 on potential I might come back to this one and try to fix it. it's a post-game persona 5 fic about a half-Japanese girl moving to Japan from America except she was a part of a group similar to the phantom thieves and the metaverse reappears when she arrives maybe 4/10 overall
"My Best Friend" (published) - glorious although maybe not the best quality. It's a Brian May x childhood friend reader fic and for most of the beginning every other chapter is a childhood memory 9/10
"You digifucked up" (draft) - I don't wanna talk about it 0/10
"hfjavnbchvxgyjgmbnas" (draft) - I have no idea what this was supposed to be but it ended up as a three paragraph disgrace of a roy mustang fic 0/10
"Is orochimaru babie" (draft) - one point for each chapter none of them were good and the only actual substance was a breakdown fic 2/10
"Naruto x reader oneshots" (published) - pretty okay, has a decent amount of reads and comments 5/10
"Me, having watched five episodes: hnnngh fanfic" (draft) - 10/10 for nostalgia, first bnha fic I ever wrote. Is actually a great idea and is in the works to be reworked and posted here on tumblr as a cyo multichap like a 6/10 overall
"Peter Parker x Avenger Reader" (draft) - no <3 it was about Peter and his girlfriend both mutually breaking up with each other because they're both tony's underlings and they slowly fall for each other's superhero alter egos 0/10
"Yoosungi~" (draft) - I started writing a yoosung fic where reader was his best friend at school and was mad that he was obsessing over mc being 'just like rika uwu' and then it slowly turned into reader unfriending him and moving in with seven and then dating seven I don't know what happened there 0/10
"Land" (unpublished) - first noncon fic I ever wrote but I don't wanna get into it. Also the title was originally a keysmash but it autocorrected to land and I kept it 1/10
"Nigihayami Kohakunushi x reader" (draft) - wow conceited much? -10/10
"Howl & Sophie but not bc fight" (draft) - I was jealous of an anime girl and needed a fix-it fic 0/10
"Akiba's Beat" (draft) - ongoing pet project of mine. one of those fics that is for me and me only. gets a good rating because I love it. nearing 700 chapters and it's like seventeen different stories going on at once but I am in love with basically everyone in that game (bar mippity mop and saki) 10000000/10
"Toxin" (draft) - the only oc insert fic I've ever written and it was partially for a friend but also it's like four paragraphs of my oc waking up in orochimaru's lab with amnesia and meeting my friend's oc 0/10
"Queen Texts" (published) - gets fairly good interaction for some reason. I only wrote it to jump on the "group chat text fic" bandwagon I don't understand the hype also none of the jokes were funny ?? 6/10
"BNHA oneshots" (draft) - by 'oneshots' I guess I meant half a kaminari fic and a decent start to a decent shigaraki fic, might circle back to that one actually idk 0/10
"double-edged sword" (draft) - good concept? the first crossover fic I ever attempted. I got impatient after writing the first chapter though so the second chapter is a massive time skip to the juicer parts of the story thank god no one else has ever seen this 5/10
"more persona 5 bullshit" (draft) - the concept was ok and the execution was okay but it was also kinda ??? reader was Akira's sister and hooked up with Yusuke and Akira got mad and then reader 'woke a persona' except not she was just a floating jester who had some power pertaining to confidants' tarot cards or something 3/10
"No Secrets Spilled" (draft) - another persona 5 fic I had an obsession I'm aware. I have no idea what the fuck was happening it was about a reader who's super good at keeping secrets, one of those secrets being she's the sidekick to a cyber criminal being hunted by the phantom thieves 2/10
"Coaster Crazy" (draft) - a Joe mazzello fic about aspiring actress reader getting cast as his love interest in a film called coaster crazy. I liked it but I gave up on it because it was too much effort trying to come up with a 'script' for a 'film' 5/10
"Queenies: Rated M for Mature" (unpublished) - was a collaboration with some friends who turned out to be a bunch backstabbing motherfuckers -10/10 bad memories
"sky rim one shots?" (meant to be read in the same tone as bill wurtz saying majapahit) (draft) - it is simply one draft that was barely even a start to a fic. an elf banished from the silver crescents comes to Delvin to join the guild. she was banished because she kept wasting her earnings trying to find her best friend (lover) Nir for years and years and years. Turns out Nir changed his name to Niruin when his father disowned him 4/10
"the rfa is one big party" (draft) - gives off vibes like a fic from 2011. it's equal parts zen x jaehee, seven x yoosung, reader x jumin, except it's like a gazillion chapters of buildup (all through 'texts') that slowly leads to everyone living together and that's literally as far as I got 1/10
"BoRhap Cast/Queen Trioshots" (unpublished) - trioshots are not a real thing I don't think I'm pretty sure I made that up but they should be (only just now realizing they are a thing but they're called trilogies) they should be more common in fanfiction I think anyway they were pretty bad it would be 5/10 but I'm subtracting points for a particularly sad trioshot about roger's girlfriend reader being cheated on and then realizing her best friend John is the perfect man for her so 1/10
"akiba's beat x persona 5 crossover fic" (draft) - been there done that and didn't even try to give it a better title. this one was about reader being a hacker and doing basically the same thing Futaba did to try and lure the phantom thieves to violet eden because she was suspicious about the metaverse and delusions being similar 0/10
"Candy Shop fanfiction" (draft) - gonna be straight up with this one: this was fanfiction of a porn game series about a dude named Andy fucking girls made of different types of candy (and one time also fucking his coworker who is the daughter of satan) -10/10 not a good thought
"...even more persona 5 bullshit" (draft) - I really gave up with titles, huh. In which reader is a quiet reserved girl in Akira's class who occasionally skips a day of school and comes back the next day having pulled a stunt like keying a teacher's car or tp-ing the school. anyway ryuji found a secret admirer note (from reader obviously) and found out it was her and tried to ask her out but Ann reminded him they were going to do "charity work" after school but then Y/n followed them into Kamoshida's castle and ended up waking a persona not even for herself, she was just mad Kamoshida hurt Ryuji lmao 0/10
"[redacted] x me" (draft) - not me fantasizing about my hot teacher oop- 0/10 he'd think it's creepy and so do I
"Jareth is a babie" (draft) - the reader was Sarah's niece and she gave her the book for her birthday and then reader wandered into the underground and met jareth and that's where it ended 1/10
"LOLOL" (draft) - back in the days of good ol' RinMaru Games, I used all the necromancer makers and warrior makers and thief makers and based all their designs on MC and then tried to write a yoosung fic that took place almost entirely in the world of lolol 2/10 I miss rinmaru so much
"oh okay" (draft) - literally I just wrote the lead up and the part where you go to the dawnstar sanctuary and see arnbjorn and then go inside to find Cicero except I made the reader character yell responses to everything Cicero said 0/10
"I'm a dangerous man, MC" (draft) - written before I completed Seven's route, and I have never played other story, so I have no idea what I was thinking. Based solely on the fact that seven doesn't shut up about being dangerous, I decided to write some bullshit fic about Saeran hacking the reader's phone to stop contact with her bff seven oh seven and slowly manipulate her into thinking "oh wait is he serious? is he dangerous?" and eventually coercing her into letting him "kidnap" her and they basically run away together and seven is after them the whole time to rescue the reader and idk it was weird 1/10 just because I spent too much time on it
"it's just more jareth" (draft) - three chapters of my venting about the backstabbing motherfuckers from "queenies: rated m for mature" (see above). it was supposed to be a comfort fic where I dump my "friends" and wish for jareth to take me away and then he does and we fall in love but I didn't get very far 1/10
"Cheydinhal" (draft) - another ongoing pet project, slowly growing into a longer and longer sob story. It starts far in the past, when Cicero first moves into the cheydinhal sanctuary after his home in bruma is destroyed. he makes friends with a fellow member of the Black Hand and then one day she disappears (it's called a prison sentence, cicero, she was tried for murder) and then they're separated for years but meet again decades later on the roads of Skyrim. reunited, they fall in love. nazir is confused 1000000/10 my favorite wip
"no thanks" (draft) - ??? like three sentences??? I think it was an OHSHC fic??? 0/10
"Cicero not even oneshots anymore" (draft) - Serana's sister reader falls in love with the jester basically 0/10 not good at all
"Sims 4 boyfriend imagines" (draft) - I lost a bet. the only thing there is vampire au imagines. I wanna hate this but I think about soft Vlad too often 5/10
"My Name Is Me" (draft) - literally what the fuck. this was an original thing and not fanfiction but ??? It's about a kid named Me You what the fuck. Anyway his secret spy uncle dies and it's up to Me and his friends to finish his uncle's last mission idk 0/10
"fanfiction mistakes that piss me off" (draft) - would've been popular in 2008 I think. the entire first chapter is just the word orbs a bunch of times. I also called my general audience "thottie ass hoes" but only specifically if they "don't read a/n 's (author's note)" 0/10
"The Princess {Joe Mazzello x Reader}" (draft) - it was supposed to be a sequel to "The Queen" (mentioned up there somewhere^^) but there's literally nothing there it's a blank document you guys wtf 0/10
"this*has*no*plot" (draft) - another original thing. I didn't get far with it but it's about a beautiful princess with lots of suitors but no will to get married so she sneaks out of her window one night and goes on an adventure except she keeps meeting interesting people who are the main character of their own stories whereas she is a temporary side character in all of their stories. It's meant to seem as if there no movement in the story, just her being a stepping stone in other stories that we do not follow 0/10
"pleas" (draft) - another original thing but I'll be damned if I can tell you what it's about. Time travel? Super powers? A bunch of different characters who all knew this "max" guy at different time periods and he leads them all to a wine cellar hidden in a forest at a certain point in time and then there's like five of "max" but all different ages?? Idk bruv 3/10 for being kinda interesting I guess
here are some notable moments from things that will never see the light of day:
