Every so often I recall the funniest blink-and-you-miss-it moment on Dressrosa, when Luffy picks up Zoro and Law and is about to jump off a plateau. Law is panicking but Zoro is calm and steady, his captain’s arm around his neck in a chokehold, ready to go wherever his captain chooses to take him. (CHAPTER 746) (Ep 682)

Remember how much Zoro hated being hauled around by Luffy pre-timeskip? Pepperidge farm This ZoLu shipper remembers! Zoro used to hit Luffy, yell at him, threaten to cut him for physically manhandling him (usually with a Gomu Gomu no Rocket). Look at this fool now! His damn face is horizontal and he’s just, like, “Cool.” This 180 was so out of character that I remember pausing in my reading out of surprise. Over time, I realized this is just part of a growing pattern of behavior:

Post-timeskip, Zoro got soft.

Okay, yeah, post-timeskip Zoro is more muscular, has a prominent facial scar, doesn’t smile or laugh as much anymore, and spouts these tough-guy one-liners. But when it comes to Luffy, Zoro got sooooo soft.

Pre-timeskip, Zoro scolded Luffy often for being impulsive, for rocketing people around, for blowing their cover, etc. He was mostly on the same wavelength as Luffy, but there were frequent moments of exasperation where he would threaten to cut Luffy (jokingly?) or yell at Luffy for being an idiot.

But post-timeskip? Those two years clearly did a number on our swordsman because compared to before, he is a complete pushover when it comes to his captain.

Luffy is quiet because he senses something is amiss? Zoro immediately notices and asks “What’s wrong” like a worried mother hen.

Luffy needs to get across a frozen lake? Zoro is already stretching.

Luffy is fighting in the coliseum despite being on an undercover mission? Zoro laments not being there fighting alongside him.

Luffy wants to cause a ruckus over Otama/red bean soup? Zoro draws his sword and is ready to tag-team this mess.

Luffy jumps Zoro and nearly suffocates him face-hugger style? Not only does Zoro not reprimand Luffy, he is over the moon smiling like a moron and offering up food.

A lot can be said about WHY Zoro is now so tolerant of Luffy’s antics, way more than before. But setting aside “why,” it’s clear that Zoro is officially Luffy’s number one enabler. He will indulge Luffy’s every whim. He will lay all their enemies at his captain’s feet. He will follow Luffy into disasters and celebrations alike. He will forgive AND defend all of Luffy’s wrongs.

This man is so whipped. This man is so soft for his captain. This man is a fucking marshmallow.

you didn’t know how or why, but somehow, your feet brought you to the same place you and diluc last spoke before he graduated. the night air was cold yet also relaxing for someone like you, who has a lot on their mind.

“hey,” you hear an all too familiar voice behind you. even after all these years, your hearing knows exactly what he sounds like.

“what are you doing here?”

if you could use two words to describe your situation right now, it would be fucking awkward. what are you even supposed to do? the man you loved when you were seventeen is suddenly back, like nothing happened (then again, nothing really happened between the two of you). do you say hi? do you ask him how he’s been for the past seven years? 

do you walk away again, just like that day?

“... how are you lately?” hesitation leaks from his tone.

“fine. you?”

“i’ve been well.”

can this get any worse? it’s just so awkward—you might as well crawl into a hole and die rather than face your (greatest love) stupid first love from back then.

“i… i read your email.” shit. you’re probably going to regret saying that.

“oh? i’m glad.”

seven years. seven years since you both lost contact. seven years ever since diluc ragnvindr crashed into your life. seven years, ever since you two were just having your own fun in the library (though the nostalgia makes it feel like it only happened yesterday).

it has been seven years since you fell in love with him.

you nodded to him, avoiding eye contact. “i was… quite hesitant to open it back then, really. and once i’ve read it, i had no idea what to feel. was i supposed to feel ecstatic because my feelings were actually reciprocated? or was i supposed to hate you because you made me believe in love yet you didn’t even bother trying out long distance?” you said, sighing. “i really did love you, you know. i may have been seventeen and a tad bit dumb, but i knew enough that my feelings were real.” 

“because you will always be my first love.”

it was silent for a moment. “cliche, isn’t it?” you chuckled weakly. why are you even telling him all of this? what a way to let him know that you never really moved on after all this time.

“no, it isn’t cliche,” diluc hesitantly replies.

“really? how so?”

“because.. i marked your email as one of my favorites so that whenever i was missing you, i’d read it” he replies.

 your head perked up when you heard that, and your eyes immediately met his. “you… missed me?”

“why wouldn’t i miss you?”

“i… i  thought you found someone else when you moved… i thought you forgot about me—about everything—and had some sort of life restart abroad,” you stammered. diluc takes a step towards you as your mind starts replaying that day again.

a hand travels to your cheek, cupping it ever so gently. he’s scared to lay a hand on you again. but for diluc, he thinks he might not get any opportunity like this ever again. his thumb grazes over your cheekbone slightly, minding his actions and making sure they don’t make you uncomfortable. and then he whispers:

“do you think that i could ever forget you?” his eyes don’t leave yours even for a second. “do you think that i would allow myself to be happy with someone else? when i have clearly promised you that i will come back for you?”

“after seven long years, (name), you’re still the one my heart calls for, and i don’t think that fact will ever change.”

“are you sure?” you asked him back in a whisper.

“positively.” 

fuck it.

you pulled him in for a kiss. it was gentle and slow as your hands traveled to his nape and pulled him closer. diluc’s hands placed themselves on your waist, and you could feel your heart beating hard. 

and just as diluc hoped, you did welcome him back with open arms.

REC Limited declares financial results, records highest ever annual net profit

The Board of Directors of REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise and leading NBFC under the Ministry of Power, today approved the audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and year ended 31st March, 2024.

Operational and Financial Highlights: Q4 FY24 vs Q4 FY23 (Standalone)

Revenue from operations: ₹ 12,613 crores vs. ₹ 10,113 crores, up 25%

Total income: ₹ 12,643 crores vs. ₹ 10,124 crores, up 25%

Net interest income: ₹ 4,407 crores vs. ₹ 3,409 crore, up 29%

Net Profit: ₹ 4,016 crores vs. ₹ 3,001 crore, up 34%

Total Comprehensive Income: ₹ 5,183 crores vs. ₹ 3,645 crores, up 42%

Yield: 10.03% vs. 9.65%, up 38 basis points

Average cost of funds: 7.14% vs. 7.17%, reduction by 3 basis points

Spread: 2.89% vs. 2.48%, up 41 basis points

Net interest margin: 3.60% vs. 3.29%, up 31 basis points

Market capitalization: ₹ 1,18,757 crore vs. ₹ 30,400, up 290%

Owing to the improving asset quality and effective resolution of stressed assets, and resetting of the lending rates and effective management of finance cost, REC has been able to record its highest ever annual profit after tax of ₹ 14,019 crores. As a result, the Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the year ended 31st March 2024 accelerated by 27% to ₹ 53.11 per share as against ₹ 41.85 per share as at 31st March 2023.

Aided by growth in profits, the Net Worth has grown to ₹ 68,783 crores as on 31st March 2024, registering an increase of 19% YoY.

The loan book has maintained its growth trajectory and has increased by 17% to ₹ 5.09 lakh crores as against ₹ 4.35 lakh crores as at 31st March, 2023. Signifying improving asset quality, the net credit-impaired assets as at 31st March, 2024 have reduced to 0.86% from 1.01% as at 31st March 2023 with Provision Coverage Ratio of 68.45% on NPA assets, as at 31st March, 2024.

Indicating the ample opportunity to support the future growth, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) of the company stands at a comfortable 25.82% as at 31st March, 2024.

Continuing with the tradition to reward its shareholders, the Board of Directors of the Company has declared the final dividend of ₹ 5 per equity share (on face value of ₹ 10/- each) and the total dividend for FY 2023-24 is ₹ 16 per equity share.
