i am a chronic oversharer do i even HAVE lore i haven't posted about??? uhmmmm oh okay!
i was on my schools Rocket Team. we built rockets and entered national comps for them !! it was so much fun and i loved it BUT i vividly remember that one of the rocket club competitions was the same time as one of the school netball tournaments and i was also captain of the team SO it felt like a very cliche oh my god do i pick my sporty persona or my science persona 😖😖 i ended up going to the rocket comp instead and yk, not to flex but absolutely to flex, that's the only netball tournament my school ever lost *hair flip*
but also at that same rocket comp one of our parts malfunctioned as we were setting up for launch and i had to runnnn back to the tent to configure another part as quickly as possible and it was incredibly stressful and i managed it and we won but also i ran back and i tripped and fell and hit my chin really hard on the floor so i was handing over the part like 🥲🚀 hi. here he is. 🤕

How to get into Coding!
Coding is very important now and in the future. Technology relies on coding and in the future you will need to know how to code to get a high-paying job. Many people consider having Computer Science field-related jobs, especially in AI. What if you are interested it in general or as a hobby? What if you don't know what you want to do yet for college?
Pick a language you want to learn: Personally, I started out with HTML and CSS. I recommend if you want to do web design HTML and CSS are good languages to start with. Otherwise, start with JavaScript or Python.
2. Find Resources: Basically you want to look at videos on YouTube, and take classes that have coding like AP CSP, AP CS A (harder class), Digital Information Technology, etc. You can also attend classes outside in the summer like CodeNinjas and use websites like code.org, freeCodeCamp, and Codecademy. Also, ask your friends for help too! You can find communities on Reddit and Discord as well.
3. Start Practicing: Practice slowly by doing small projects like making games for websites and apps. You can work with friends if you are still a beginner or need help. There's also open-source coding you can do!
4. Continue coding: If you don't continue, you will lose your skills. Be sure to always look up news on coding and different coding languages.
5. Certifications: If you are advanced in coding or want to learn more about technology, you can do certifications. This can cost a lot of money depending on what certification you are doing. Some school districts pay for your certification test. But if you take the test and pass, you can put it on your resume, and job recruiters/interviewers will be impressed! This can help with college applications and show initiative if you want a computer science degree. This shows you are a "master" of the language.

Tumblr media
since one of my beloved mutuals asked, here's the story of the 2010 Times Square bombing, AKA the single worst car bomb ever made
Tumblr media
this is faisal shahzad, a pakistani member of the taliban
faisal wants to kill americans, which is a reasonable goal, let's be honest here
to do this, he wants to set off a car bomb in new york city
crucially, however, faisal does not know anything about explosives
this does not deter him, however, as he jams a bunch of random flammable shit in the back half of a car he bought on craigslist and drives it to times square
Tumblr media
this is the diagram the justice department used at his trial, and fucking look at this shit
giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming the wire leads are actually connected instead of trailing off to nowhere like how they appear here, the primary explosive used was entire individual firecrackers packed in a cardboard box. a coffee can, and a pressure cooker
(for reference, an M-88 looks like this:)
Tumblr media
allegedly he followed al qaeda instructions while assembling the bomb, and if this is the best al qaeda could do then it's not surprising that they had to give up on explosives and resort to flying entire planes into buildings
there are multiple gas cans, and i'm telling you right now that gasoline is going to add exactly jack shit to this if your plan is detonating the propane tanks (which incidentally are not connected to anything) because the slow burn of gasoline is going to be completely buried under any kind of pressurized gas explosion
and let's talk about the propane tanks, too, because these are standard steel-walled tanks with no modification and his grand plan is to penetrate that steel with fucking fireworks
to top it all off, the gun locker is full of the wrong kind of fertilizer for a bomb
he used urea-based fertilizer, which has these lovely statements in its data sheet:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and finally, when you put this haphazard mixture of random shit together, you get a lightly toasted SUV and a whopping zero casualties
Tumblr media
so there you have it, the single worst car bomb until the cybertruck explosion in vegas
edit because i just picked this up: faisal also left both his house key and the keys to his getaway car in the vehicle, as if he wasn't incompetent enough

How SSL Certificates are Beneficial for SEO
Tumblr media
Implementing SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificates on your website is crucial for SEO. SSL certificates encrypt data transferred between users and the website, ensuring security and trustworthiness. Here’s how they benefit SEO:
1. Improved Search Engine Ranking
Google Preference: Google prioritizes secure websites (HTTPS) over non-secure ones (HTTP) in search engine rankings. It is more likely that websites having SSL certificates will rank higher.
Enhanced Crawling: Search engines prefer crawling secure sites, which can lead to better indexing of your content.
2. Trust and Credibility
User Trust: SSL certificates display a padlock icon in the browser, indicating to users that the site is secure. This builds trust and credibility, encouraging more visitors.
Brand Image: A secure site enhances your brand’s reputation as a trustworthy entity, which can lead to increased traffic and customer retention.
3. Enhanced Data Security
Data Encryption: SSL certificates encrypt the data transmitted between the user and the website, protecting sensitive information from being intercepted by malicious entities.
Compliance: Many regulatory frameworks require websites to implement SSL for data protection, ensuring compliance with data security standards.
For more information on enhancing your website's security and SEO, check out our SEO services and Digital Marketing services.
4. Reduced Bounce Rate
User Confidence: Visitors are more likely to stay longer on a secure site, reducing the bounce rate. A lower bounce rate positively impacts SEO rankings.
Better User Experience: Secure websites ensure that users feel safe, improving the overall user experience and encouraging repeat visits.
5. Secure Payments
E-commerce Trust: For e-commerce websites, SSL certificates are essential as they protect payment information. This not only builds trust but also ensures secure transactions.
Increased Sales: Secure payment gateways can lead to higher conversion rates, as customers feel more comfortable making purchases.
6. HTTPS as a Ranking Signal
SEO Boost: Google has confirmed that HTTPS is a ranking signal. Implementing SSL certificates gives your website a slight ranking boost, contributing to overall SEO efforts.
Competitive Edge: Websites with SSL certificates gain a competitive edge over non-secure sites, potentially leading to higher visibility and traffic.
7. Prevention of Data Breaches
Secure Communication: SSL certificates ensure that data sent between the user and the website is encrypted and secure, preventing data breaches.
Protection Against Cyber Attacks: By encrypting data, SSL certificates protect your website from various cyber attacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks.
How to Implement SSL Certificates
Choose the Right SSL Certificate:
Select an SSL certificate that suits your website’s needs. Options include single domain, multi-domain, and wildcard SSL certificates.
Install the SSL Certificate:
Follow the installation instructions provided by your SSL certificate provider. This often involves generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and installing the certificate on your server.
Update Internal Links:
Ensure all internal links on your website point to the HTTPS version. This includes updating links in your content, navigation, and sitemaps.
Redirect HTTP to HTTPS:
Implement 301 redirects to ensure visitors and search engines are directed to the HTTPS version of your site.
Update External Links:
Inform any external websites linking to your site about the change to HTTPS, and encourage them to update their links.
Conclusion
SSL certificates are vital for enhancing SEO by improving search engine rankings, building trust and credibility, ensuring data security, reducing bounce rates, and enabling secure payments. Implementing SSL on your website provides a secure environment for your users, fostering trust and contributing to better SEO performance. More Details Here -> Free Microsoft Training & Certs for Students
●~•────── Are Certifications Worth it? ───────•~●
What do ya wanna do & where are you at? Here's my grain of salt:
If you're an intern /new grad level, then even a fundamentals cert can be great to show proactive learning & make you standout with recruitors
If you're switching to a new role or want a promotion, getting certifications seem to be a decent way to meet those qualifications, backed with some professional years of experience
Of course, the TYPE of certification matters a lot. Generally certs that are more challenging to complete, are considered "Expert" or "Professional" level will be more valuable.
Do diligent research into what your field of interest is looking for, and if a cert would be useful. (Read reddit, hackernews, watch yt vids, linkedin, etc)
Certs are not necessary (uhh when it comes to swe. flying a plane is a different story). But if you see it often in job descriptions that you're interested in, consider it! From my impressions, if you're interested in cloud engineering, AWS certs seem pretty valued.
Certs can also be a negative if you have too many with no specialization or experience. Certs are great to enhance ur resume, but make sure to emphasize relevant experience too!
If you have any experience with certifications, please do share your experience!
