LOL this totally depends on the cat.

I lived this (on the couch) with N the Cat. Had a truly awful day at work, did something wrong, was rightfully reprimanded, and cried all weekend at my folly.

N the Cat ignored me.

When I fell on the last stair M the Cat ran to me immediately, meowing and head-butted me until I could get up. N didn't even come to the top of the stairs to see what had happened.

Now that both M and D are gone, N has been much more attentive. I don't know if she learned to read human emotions from M and D, or if my utter grief when they died influenced her, or if she decided 'emotional closeness is nice, and now you are all mine.'

I have a HC that he used to have a old house cat and I thought what if the reason he hasn't killed husk is because he almost resembles his old emotional support cat back when he was still young. Its both amusing and a lil'uncanny to be fair.

Oh and the Primary Color AU, thats just me having applemedia thoughts. Just a somewhat sitcom/domesticate fluff with a pitch of drama and angst. Just a pitch. Not planning to make it too angsty. If anyone's interested (or not. I still do it anyways) I'll explain more abt it, it's pretty simple honestly.

Zevran sighs. Really, he is probably the worst person to explain any of this to a new arrival, and yet somehow he keeps getting dragged into doing just that. He has no answers -- if he did, he wouldn't be here himself.

Here comes the panic. Zevran had felt it back then; feels it even now, on occasion. That nauseating feeling of knowing you are trapped. Helpless. It's never a good feeling. He knows too well he doesn't have anything to say that will not just make it worse. Still, he is compelled to say something.

"Relax, my dear mage. It is not so bad." Comfort has never come easily to the assassin, but he does try to keep his tone even and soothing. "We are all stuck on this island. You are not alone. And the city itself is quite nice, once you get used to it." There's a certain novelty to all the new technology, inventions even the dwarf artificers of Orzammar could never imagine.

"You are free to do as you will, you just can't leave until they let you. Which does happen, from time to time. If you are very lucky, you will not be here long."

"Yes, but I've never heard of Spirale. They could've meant the giant hole, for all I know." Anders replies with a vague gesture at the pit, mildly exasperated and without the energy or will to hide it. The idea of some unexplored island is a more mundane answer than he would've thought, but for a moment it almost reassures him with the idea that he could find someone with clearer answers, maybe another mage whose own magic seemed stifled. He indulges, almost without realizing, in the fantasy of bringing news of this place to the Mage Underground. An entire island without templars. Shadowy kidnappers aside, it's a possibility; the hope is such a rare treat it almost feels perverse.

It comes crashing down in an instant with the worst words Zevran could have said. It might've been better to hear this was just the afterlife. This, out of everything, is the easiest for him to believe.

"Of course I am." Anders spits, dragging his clean hand down his jaw to muffle a string of curses. "What else was I expecting? A surprise party? It's a city-sized prison. Maker-forsaken piece of–"
