friend wanted to see my tumblr, and when i told him i can’t show it to him bc it’s basically my personal diary he went “oh so I can’t see it but a bunch of strangers on tumblr can??” he literally does not get me. no one will get me like the people in my phone get me
#It’s just so different#even though it’s public it still feels secret and safe. i feel comfy sharing a lot more on here than I do in my actual day to day life lol#in my head I’m also just speaking to myself 90% of the time which helps#if a friend off tumblr saw my thoughts I’d feel so weird ab it#esp bc they might get the vagueposting about certain situations and tell mutual friends#no thank u. this is for me. I’m not about to start censoring my thoughts bc someone I know knows my tumblr#u guys literally saw me have LIVE BREAKDOWNS#meanwhile I’ll have the worst fucking day in history and tell no one about it. I’m already cripplingly private but way more so in real life#this is basically a low stress journaling outlet for me. it’s so important for me to maintain the separation#like this is actually my diary & has been so handy for letting out emotions / articulating thoughts / staying on track !!#& I’ve met so many kind people on here who actually get me. which is so hard to find irl bc I’m surrounded by pre-med gunners/overachievers#who are by standard not very good w emotion & can be competitive/judgmental. or at least it’s hard for me to be vulnerable in front of them#and I’m part of that crowd so I reserve my emotions only to a handful of very close friends#it’s nice to hop on here and express negative emotions!! or positive emotions!! just whatever I want and it’s low stress and people get me#I don’t have to worry about judgment or competitiveness etc etc#like everyone on here is so kind & nice & understanding. & just a breath of fresh air from the types I run w. it’s just nice to have this#so idk that’s why I think I’ll always be strict about keeping the worlds separate. it just works#p

Wasn't gonna put in another ask so soon, but I've gotta know; how have Cosmo and Anti-Cosmo swapped courts so many times? What was it like the first (and maybe the last) time(s) it happened?
How? Due to their overwhelming magic of course!! Cosmo was the most powerful baby to be born in Fairyworld at the time. His emotional dysregulations was more than enough to trigger a swap.
Growing up, Anti-Cosmo had to help his counterpart control his outbursts and magic, just to make the swaps stop. He's the reason Cosmo hadn't fully destroyed Fairy World. As a result, these two are closely bonded in ways that no other Fairy or Anti-Fairy tend to be.
It's something their sons have in common.

Blood Blossom Au: before the nightingale sings
---------
for my batdad blood blossom au, the one where Vlad poisoned Danny with blood blossom extract and Danny ran away from him and ended up tumbling into the care of one Pre-Robin Battinson Batman :). A quick oneshot telling the tale of the tragic deaths of the Fentons
TW: Major Character Death Warning
-------
Not all deaths are created equal.
That is a valuable lesson in life to learn. One that Danny learns when he is eleven years old, standing in the pit of his parents’ creation; the culmination of their life’s work. The portal to the other side, the realm of the dead. To the infinite.
He learns that when he’s eleven years old, in a hazmat suit that sags on him, and boots that clunk when he walks because the only ones that fit are his mom’s, and even those are too big. In gloves that he has to clench his fists in because otherwise they fall off. In goggles that slide down his nose even when he’s tightened them the farthest they can go.
He learns that when he’s eleven years old, choking on giggles that harmonize with the laughter of his friends’ who stand at the mouth of the tunnel. Sam’s holding a polaroid in her hand. They’re just being kids.
They’re not laughing when Danny’s hand hits the safety lock — the one with faulty wiring, the only one in the tunnel. The only one he could possibly hit. They’re not laughing when the portal buzzes to life, and the lights inside switch on row by row as the generator begins to rumble and hum.
They’re not laughing when Danny dies. They’re screaming. They’re not screaming when he comes back.
Not all deaths are created equal.
Some are poetic, beautiful. The satisfying close of a book as it comes to an end, of the hardback thumping soft against the pages like the sound of a door closing. A train run its course.
Some are violent; unsatisfying; unfair. The unexpected shattering of an egg as it rolls off the countertop when nobody is looking, the unmistakable crack as it falls to the floor. It is abrupt and messy.
But most are just… unremarkable. Unintentional. Clumsy.
Danny’s family dies one night in late January. He is thirteen years old, barely a month away from fourteen. It is unforeseen. It is preventable. It happens.
It happens like this:
Their water heater breaks one Monday in January. It’s old, sitting in the garage, and has dealt with nearly sixteen years of Fenton-grade chaos and shenanigans. Of parents tossing scraps and junk into the garage as brief storage to come back to later. Of illegal tune-ups on their vehicles that result in something exploding. Of little children running around and knocking things over, playing with poles and sticks they find on the ground, on the shelves. Of being lived and used.
Something had to give.
Jack Fenton notices it immediately when he comes upstairs that very afternoon — his children at school, his wife downstairs — to grab something from the garage. The very same scrap and used material they store like squirrels to use later.
He stops what he’s doing to fix it.
It wasn’t supposed to be permanent.
Despite what many believe, Jack Fenton is not the idiot people make him out to be. He knows what he’s good at, he knows what he’s not. He knows he can be passionate and obsessive and single-minded about things. He knows that he is a scientist, an inventor; an engineer.
He knows that he is not a plumber. That fixing water heaters is not something he knows how to do, not safely. And he loves his family. What he does is only meant to be temporary — a fix meant to only last a few days until they can call someone in who can fix it for them.
So Jack Fenton futzes with the water heater, gives it a temporary stitch to last a short while, and reminds himself to call a plumber later that day to come in and fix it. He turns and leaves the garage with the part he came for — a sheet of metal for his wife to melt down — and disappears back downstairs.
He does not make that call; it slips from his mind.
It is not his fault.
One day passes, then two, then suddenly it is Thursday. The water heater has still not been fixed, the water heater has been forgotten. It is nobody’s fault.
Danny asks his parents at breakfast if he can stay over at Tucker’s house for the night. Just one night. They’re going to study for their math test and then play video games until midnight, but he only tells his parents that first half.
He’s been doing well in school. Really well — better than he has in a while. There’s been a delightful lull in ghost appearances for the last few weeks. The living don’t know why, but Danny does. The Winter Truce always calms the dead down for a while, something about how the Zone cleanses itself twice a mortal year and that fresh wave of ecto clears out the old and brings in the new.
This year Danny got to participate. He’s feeling the effects of it too, and he’s been sleeping consistently well for the first time since the accident.
It’ll never happen again.
His parents agree under the condition that he doesn’t stay up late, and Danny harmlessly lies through his teeth and agrees. He goes and throws overnight clothes into his school backpack, and when he leaves for school with Jazz his parents are already departed into the lab.
The last conversation he has with his sister is in her car on the drive to school. Inane, mindless conversation to fill the air and pass the time. Jazz comments on how relaxed he’s been lately; Danny tells her about the Winter Truce. She listens in rapt attention.
She tells him that she’s glad to see him so well-rested. She thinks her little brother’s been growing up too fast these days. She thinks he’s been too tense. Too caught up with the spinning of the world around him that he forgets about himself sometimes.
When they reach school, before Danny can get out of the car, Jazz looks to her little brother and says; “I love you.”
Her little brother’s cheeks turn an embarrassed shade of red. He makes a scrunched up, grossed-out face, but can’t hide the smile pulling across it. “Don’t be a sap, Jazz. I’ll see you later.” He tells her, yanking his hood up over his head. She hears the bashful, ‘love you too’ before he walks away.
That is the last conversation she ever has with her brother.
Thursday is unremarkable, passing by in its normality as it always does. There’s one, maybe two ghost sightings; shades lurking around in curious infancy that are easily spooked away by the presence of a greater being. Danny doesn’t even have to go ghost.
Thursday evening is even less so. Danny goes to Tucker’s house — Sam has a prior arrangement with her slam poetry club — and the two of them study for an hour before they toss their textbooks aside and reach for the game console.
Danny sleeps in Tucker’s room with one of the extra blankets on his bed, curled across the room in one of the bean bag chairs. It shouldn’t be comfortable, but to Danny it is. He sleeps throughout the night, the portal shut down by his parents before they’d gone to bed.
Early Friday morning, before the sun has even risen yet, before it’s even so much as a concept to grace the horizon, the water heater breaks again. It was supposed to be fixed.
Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. Odorless and scentless, it kills within minutes. It fills the house like a shadow casting over the ground, creeping into the rooms.
Danny’s family die in their sleep; painless and unaware.
It’s not Jack Fenton’s fault. He didn’t mean to.
Nobody wakes up with their alarms.
Danny wakes up to Tucker Foley’s alarm on Friday morning, and he turns his head intangible and shoves it into the beanbag chair like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand. Tucker gets up before him, and throws a pillow at him as he reaches for the alarm.
There’s laughter, messing around. The both of them get dressed, and Danny has breakfast with the Foleys that morning. He takes the bus to school with Tucker, and they meet Sam by their lockers.
To him, everything is as normal as it should be. There are no ghosts for him to fight right now, school is as school does, and he’s on top of all his schoolwork.
He does not see Jazz at all that morning, he doesn’t notice. Their schedules are so different, their routes on different paths, that it’s not uncommon for Danny to not see Jazz until he gets home some days. That’s if there’s no ghost attacks.
At lunch, he gets approached by her friends. Worried creases between their brows, they ask him if he’s seen Jazz. She hasn’t shown up to any of her classes. She’s not answering their texts. It’s unprecedented of her; unheard of.
Danny doesn’t admit to the concern that swells in his gut when they tell him this. He shrugs at them, and says he hasn’t seen her either. But it was probably nothing to worry about; she might just be sick and sleeping it off.
He offers to text her and let them know if he gets a response, and that seems to ease her friends enough that they shuffle away in uncertainty. He keeps his word, and does exactly that. He pulls out his phone and opens her contact, and shoots her a message.
‘Where are you?’
He doesn’t get a response back, Danny is left on sent. He puts his phone in his pocket, and with a sense of unease creeping in the back of his mind, goes on with his day. He gets no response by the time the final bell rings; and he tries not to be worried.
The house is quiet when he opens the door. Unusually quiet. He drops his backpack to the floor, it lands with a hearty thunk, and begins to take off his jacket. “Mom! Dad!” He yells. He hangs it up, and slips his shoes from his feet. “Jazz skipped school today!”
A laughable untruth that would get his sister all riled up normally; she should be able to hear him from the front door if she was in her room. The house just stays dead silent.
He can’t even hear the usual banging and crashing from the lab. His unease returns. He reaches for the intercom that leads directly down to the basement, and presses the button to turn it on. A burst of static, and then he speaks;
“Mom? Dad?”
Danny lets go, and waits for a response. He gets none back. That never happens, not when the house is this quiet. Not when he knows they should’ve heard him.
Something sickly and fearful borns in the pit of his stomach, and begins to snake upward. He heads for the lab. The cool metal of the door is familiar in the grooves of his hand, and he doesn’t even need to think about the code as he punches it in; he simply lets muscle memory guide him. It’s been the same since he was little.
The door hisses as the pressure is released, and he swings the door open. He takes the stairs down two at a time. Something is wrong. His parents aren’t answering him. His feet pound against the metal.
“Mom? Dad?” He calls again, more worried, more frantic. More scared. His voice echoes down the stairwell, and he reaches the bottom before it’s fully faded. The lab is empty. The portal is still shut down.
It was four in the afternoon, they should still be down here.
Danny races back upstairs, fear-raised nausea coiling in his throat. “This isn’t funny you guys!” He yells when he reaches the top, shoving open the door with more force than necessary. His head swims, his voice cracked.
He checks the garage, the car is still there.
“Mom!? Dad!” His voice bellows out throughout the first floor, loud enough that it bounces back at him and rings against his ears. He’s never raised his voice this much — mom would scold him if she heard him. But she doesn’t show up. “Jazmine!”
Finally, he goes upstairs, and he can’t tell if what he’s feeling is anger or terror. Something is very, very wrong.
He swings the door of his parents’ rooms open first, and there they are, with the lights still off and the curtains still drawn. As if they hadn’t left their bed all day. Some of Danny’s fear lifts from his shoulders just by the sight of them, but he’s still trembling. Something is still wrong — the room smells… off. Not good, not bad. Just… off.
He swallows dryly, his throat still thick, and steps into the room. “Mom, dad?” They do not stir. “Didn’t you guys hear me yelling?”
There is only room static. Danny’s heart shrivels in his chest with a tenfold return of terror, he feels ill. He remembers, just now, that they’re not heavy sleepers, and his dad should be snoring like a freight house.
Danny reaches their bedside in seconds, hand outstretching for the covers, “Momma? Dad?”
Not all deaths are created equal.
But many of them are accidental. Unmeditated. Shocking.
Danny Fenton finds his family dead in his childhood home. He runs to his neighbors in hysterics, inconsolable, in tears. Nine-one-one is called, but there is nothing that can be done. They were dead for hours by the time Daniel Fenton returned home.
He sits on the front steps of the neighbor’s house beside FentonWorks, his jeans slowly becoming wet from the snow that was unable to be scraped off, and watches the paramedics cart out his family beneath white sheets. There are police cars blocking off the street, yellow tape blocking off his house, red-blue lights lighting up the block, an ambulance on the scene. He is wrapped in a shock blanket, and he is missing his jacket and his shoes. His tears are freezing onto his face, he can’t feel the chill.
Not all deaths are created equal
But all of them are unforgettable.

*cracks knuckles* Okay lets talk about the elephant in the room: Style going to the support group for those who've suffered loss and telling what appears to be a fake story about losing his pet dog.
I'm going to point out a few things that I think provide a framework for Style's actions here. Not because I think it excuses what he did, but because I think a nuanced read is what the character deserves.
Point 1: An irresistible opportunity
The subs put the "Support Group for Loss" on the image in the notebook, but I'm not sure there's anything to suggest that Style would've known that was what this image represents until he showed up and saw the sign on top of the door.
In episode 2, Bison says, "He plans everything down from years, months, weeks to days" and then tells Kant:
So Style is literally just going to addresses/locations at given days and times, potentially not knowing what to expect. And as much as Fadel is certainly attending this meeting as a response to having that heartbreaking flashback (😭), this is also something he attends regularly and has planned to attend way in advance. So Style has no reason to think Fadel is attending this meeting because of a recent resurfacing of his pain.
What we, the audience, and what the characters know are very different things.
Now, should Style have turned his cute ass right around once he realised what this meeting was? Of course he should. But that wouldn't have been true to Style's character. We've been told by his best friend that he is "crazy" and been shown repeatedly that he lives right up to that description.
Style is impulsive. He's all base instinct and he acts on his desires without thought or contemplation. And by this point he is desperate for a deeper connection with Fadel. He's fascinated, captivated by the mystery that is Fadel and this is an excellent opportunity to finally see behind the wall Fadel so carefully maintains.
When Style sees the sign above the door, Style looks at the notebook (which, again, shows nothing but people sitting in a circle with the words RISE UP) like he's just realising what it means. He then gets this amused, almost rueful look on his face (like he's thinking "am I really going to do this?") before it shifts to determination and he walks through the door.
(My soul for the ability to once again gif something because FUCK Dunk is doing SO MUCH in this show!!)
To Style, this is just too good of an opportunity to give up.
Because let's be real, Fadel is so clearly lying and hiding something:
Fadel is shady as FUCK. He is simultaneously actually a really good cook (Style finally tries his burger so he knows, now), and also has the skills to work at a strip host club, and also can take on 3 guys in a fight, and also can break a man's arm with his thighs. Can you honestly blame Style for losing his mind just a little bit about wanting to get his hands on something, anything, to figure this man out?
Style is being absolutely consistent in his persistence to understand Fadel. This isn't about the car or about finally 'winning' the fight (thank you @airenyah for giving such a detailed framework to understand what Style's been doing until this point) anymore. This is about Style wanting to know Fadel himself.
Point 2: The potential implications of the setting
Now, what might give us a bit of insight as to why Style is this way? I have a theory (albeit one that could prove to be very wrong, but hear me out). I think this whole entire show is set in what could potentially be quite a small town/suburb.
There's a few things that make this theory plausible:
(1) Fadel and Bison are in hiding after Bison blew their previous cover. They're probably on the run from some section of the authorities and so it makes sense to settle in a quiet/out of the way place.
(2) Style seems to be really familiar with the people in the area. Like he grew up there and its the kind of small town where everyone knows everyone and everyone is in everyone else's business.
(3) Style is clearly the darling of the market aunties and uncles.
Style just lost her a sale and potentially a loyal customer, and she's still rooting for him? In episode 2, when Style asks the uncle to let him borrow his cart, it takes nothing but his word for the uncle to give Style his entire cart of produce for his ridiculous scheme.
Style is so clearly someone they all know well and have great affection for, and a very plausible explanation for this is that they all watched him grow up and the entire market (town/village) is fond of him.
And honestly?? Yeah, we see the way Style is actually quite sweet in that careless, guileless, thoughtless way. He goes the extra mile to fix his mistake with Fadel by replacing his car parts for free in episode 1. He helps out by taking orders in episode 2 without being asked and takes it seriously. In episode 3, he tries to drive more business to Fadel's store (bless him, he so clearly does NOT understand how restaurants work, but he MEANS well!!), and can we all acknowledge that it works?? He understands how to appeal to potential customers in the area because he knows the people there. It's not (entirely) his fault that Fadel wasn't remotely prepared for an actual rush crowd and Bison was off getting kinky with Kant and not doing his (fake) job. He is so clear about not judging Fadel's host job and tries his hardest to help him (to absolutely NO effect, but still) when the 3 guys gang up on Fadel.
Style is so loved and more importantly so very loveable.
Point 3: What this could mean for Style's character
So, potentially, Style is someone who grew up in a small town, who has been well loved, potentially spoiled and coddled, but also very much kept within the confines of the narrow viewpoint that a quiet, country town places on you.
It's in the way his dad scolds him as if he was still a child when he's at least in his mid to late 20s. It's in the way Style was so mad at Fadel for scolding him ("thanks for the lecture, dad"), like that hit a sore point for Style. It's in the way no one in the market takes him seriously; they're fond, but he's still a kid in their eyes. It's in the way he has an abundance of free time like he doesn't REALLY need to work at his dad's shop. It's in the way he sees Fadel beat 3 guys up with ease, starts wondering if Fadel is an assassin or a hitman, and is completely unfazed like he doesn't quite have a handle on reality.
It's in the way his best friend is a man who has no qualms about lying to him and putting his life in danger, and how Style seems to have no other friends or people (aside from his dad) in his life.
@wuxian-vs-wangji made a comment to me about Style being desperate for a meaningful connection, and I think she hit the nail on the head. Because along comes Fadel, a mysterious stranger with a suspiciously versatile set of skills who is also very hot and keeps giving Style these wonderfully complex reactions? Who sometimes wants nothing to do with Style, but at other times seems to be at war within himself about desperately wanting him? Who treats Style with anything but apathy?
This is catnip to Style; he never had any hope of resisting this.
Breaking news: Style is a complex and imperfect character...
Here's the thing, though: he was never going to try. The show has been incredibly upfront about who Style is as a person. Regardless of whether I'm correct about why he is this way (ie. that he is very much the product of the environment that didn't know how to handle a kid with Style's personality), episode 3 shouldn't have surprised anyone about Style. He's been incredibly consistent and true to himself.
He wants Fadel and he's "crazy" enough to go all in, no holds barred about it, and the Support Group was the biggest doorway to finally discovering something REAL about Fadel.
And its not just about sex or to prove his superiority anymore. Because if it was just that, then Style would have reacted very differently to their first time.
In this scene, Style is pleased and evidently enjoying himself, but he isn't exuberant. He isn't overcome with joy. If anything, he was more happy and excited when Fadel let him help out in the diner (I mentioned this in the tags in this post too) than he was when Fadel is literally fucking him. He lets Fadel set the pace; barely moves to touch Fadel except to hold him close. Almost like he doesn't want to accidentally mess this up, like he's worried he'll take too much, so he'll take what Fadel gives him and no more (please appreciate @braceletofteeth's amazing tags on this post). For a character that has been so aggressively on the offensive, this is shocking until you realise that sleeping with Fadel - while it's a step in the right direction - isn't Style's end goal anymore.
And he makes that abundantly clear in this episode:
Does Style even fully realise the weight of this desire? I doubt it. But I do believe that Style is in earnest. He doesn't fully understand his own feelings, but he also doesn't really care to either. All he knows is that he wants Fadel, wants his attention and his passion and his focus and his heart.
...but Style is also kind of, sort of, perfect.
Because he's exactly, precisely, breathtakingly exactly what Fadel needs.
Because Fadel is hurt and broken and bleeding inside. Because Fadel is barely holding it all together for Bison's sake, but has already given up hope for any true happiness for himself. Because Fadel can't trust anyone or anything in his life, when he's been used and used and used by the family who should've loved and cared and protected him.
Because it's going to take nothing short of this kind of unwavering, unshakable, uncomplicated determination to give Fadel even a chance of healing and opening his heart to love again.
#saw a post about style being one-dimensional and boring and I nearly had a breakdown because what are you TALKING about???#he's so perfectly messed up and terrible and unfiltered and WONDERFUL in all the wrong and right ways#and others have pointed out there's potentially even MORE to style's backstory because of the “coincidence” of Lilly meeting with#someone with the same name as the dog Style talks about in his story#listen the story telling in this show drives me inSANE in the best way and i'm baffled at some of the takes i'm seeing#can we at least... let his story play out maybe before dismissing or hating on Style?? its literally ONLY episode 3.#anyway yes its me your resident style apologist back to be unnecessarily emotional about style again#the heart killers#the heart killers the series#thk meta#style meta#hui talks thk#hui talks thai bl#style sattawat#fadelstyle#also FUCK ME dunk is just constantly serving every single episode and i've seen so many posts appreciating joong's acting (RIGHTLY SO!)#but not nearly enough love for the frankly INSANE performance dunk has been giving every single episode#i love him i love him I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OKAY T_T#dunk natachai#ALSO (not that this means i can speak for everyone in a similar circumstance)#but as someone who lost my father to cancer as a teenager i DO understand and relate to the FURY Fadel must have felt in ep 3#and i DO think style was wrong to have treated the situation so lightly#but like literally WHAT in this show sets up any expectation for style to have the emotional maturity to do that?#and also this doesn't make him an inherently bad person ACTUALLY#it makes him an idiot and needing to be taught the right way to respond to people who are grieving. but guess what; he's NOT ALONE??#because let me tell you the amount of times i wanted to punch FULL GROWN ADULTS for giving me “well meaning” platitudes at my dad's funeral#...but the thing is they DID mean well. they just didn't realise how hurtful their words were#and life is filled with imperfect people who make mistakes and part of our journey is learning from them and trying our best to be kind

edwin in hell is giving off so much raw emotion that charles probably wasnt used to seeing (though we dont really know the fortitude of edwins emotional walls when its just them two that hes willing to show)
but edwin is usually super calm and collected and prepared on cases, hell is probably the most animated weve seen him in the show so far not that i blame him
so it was probably like super scary for charles to see him genuinely petrified and shaking and crying in fear right🧍🏻♀️
not to mention the fact of seeing someone u love in that state of terror is just awful on its own
#i say that because idk if its just me but seeing someone youve known for a while have an outburst of negative emotion for the first time#its pretty startling. had a friend who was usually like super hapoy and smiley have a bipolar breakdown in my car once n i think abt it alo#obviously not the same thing but u get what i mean right lol#dead boy detective agency#dead boy detectives spoilers#dead boy detectives#dbda#dbdshow#charles rowland#edwin payne

When you know that your brother needs you
So you stay at his side
Even when he doesn't feel like himself
Even if he truly scares you
Because he needs you to help him remember who he is
To protect him when no one else will
To believe in him when he needs it most
And to be someone he can rely on, even if it's hard
You're just a kid, but so is he
And ain the end of the day you need each other
because, as your weird third brother puts it, you are brothers
#like can we talk about the most overlooked pair of tragic siblings in Tragic Siblings: The Show?#i firmly believe that Zym being Ez's emotional support dragon is the only thing saving Ez from having a full breakdown#and that zym knows it damn well xd#like#he is always here to purposefully come nuzzle Ez every time Ez's uncomfortable and/or seems one step from Losing It#and there is only one time when it didn't work (i suppose after being betrayed by one brother you won't want to accept comfort from another#also the way how 'your brother ezran needs you' may wery well be the last thing Zubeia told Zym that he actually heard#at least it's certainly the last such line onscreen#the dragon prince#tdp#tdp zym#tdp ezran

I’m Not The Sun
—
Y'know, when Kon ‘died’, do you think a grieving Tim could have mistaken Danny for his best friend? Do you think that, in a moment of desperation and exhaustion, he might've kidnapped a floating Danny in an attempt to bring Kon home? And when he realized he kidnapped a random civilian, do you think he still kept Danny for a while as a replacement for Kon?
Do you think Danny got tired of being called 'Conner' after the first week but was too distressed himself to correct Tim? Trying to leave or tell the fellow teen his name was Danny was obviously sending the kid into a spiral. He seemed to think Danny was the dead spirit of his best friend. Maybe if he played along, this Conner guy would show back up?
Hopefully, before Tim completes his cloning research. Danny's been doing everything he can to sabotage the equipment, but even with ghost powers on his side, Tim is a smart person. Every time Danny sets him back one step, Tim takes two steps forward. And since he's well outside of his haunt, Danny is starting to feel weak and ill from lack of ectoplasm. He's running out of time.
Do you think Kon would feel upset that his best friend replaced him?
#dpxdc#pondhead blurbs#like#crack can happen#but i just want a gut wrenching story about tim's emotional breakdown#and he's smart but everything he's doing is making everything worse and worse#danny doesn't know he's red robin#he can't leave the nest or where ever tim took him to#he just knows he's getting weaker by the day#using invisibility has never been harder#the one time he tried to sneak out#tim found him in an hour#and spiraled so hard danny panicked and promised not to leave again#well guess what ghost boy?#promises are important to ghosts :)#he physically cannot leave tim now even tho it is causing him harm#tim is just off the rails with grief#he eventually realizes danny isn't kon but keeps calling him such to keep a thread of sanity#and continues with the cloning attempts#danny is just horrified and doesn't know what to do#i'm opening this up for some super angst on danny's side too#like imagine he had a bad reveal and he messed up with this powers#and now tim thinks he's the dead spirit of fucking superboy come to reincarnate into the shell of an empty clone#danny's powers are getting weaker and his control is slipping#so it's not exactly helping his case#queued post

CARRION!Sif Anti/Alt Friend quest
[[This is for a set of alternate friend quests that each trigger from each family member watching Siffrin have a small emotional breakdown, as well as...seeing something else.]]
(You're shaking.)
(...why? This isn't the first time you've done this...and yet...)
(You can barely feel your hunger right now. Just fear. You don't want to hurt them. You don't want to hurt any of them.)
(...everything is wrong. You shouldn't be doing this. You're not...even...)
"Siffrin?"
(You jump. Mirabelle's voice shakes you out of your trance.)
"Sorry, Mirabelle."
"I-it's alright, I know you can get a little sleepy sometimes. So, um, do you have time to help me with these papers?"
(...you have to make her happy.)
(Stop shaking, idiot.)
"...yeah I do."
(Mirabelle beams. You take your seat beside her.)
(Time to take the lead.)
(...you open your mouth.)
(...Huh?)
(Nothing is coming out.)
(Come on. You know you're next line.)
(Just ask. You have to. Ask what the papers are.)
(Why won't you say anything?! You've done this several times already, haven't you? Just say it! Don't have want to make her happy?! Don't you want them to love you?! You-!)
"...Siffrin, are you okay?"
(...you didn't even notice until now, but you're panting. You feel short on breath...and you're sweating badly.)
(You quickly bring your head down.)
(You can feel Mirabelle still staring at you intensely. You can barely look back at you. You can't make her worried. You're supposed to help her. You HAVE to help her. Stick to the script. Stick to the script. Stick to the...)
(...Mirabelle places a hand on your forehead...she's checking for a fever.)
"Okay, it's not a fever, s-so...uhm..."
"...Siffrin, c-could you look at me, please?"
(...you muster what energy you have left and look at her.)
"Siffrin, are you stressed or anxious about anything? O-oh! Was it me, d-did I accidentally make you anxious about these papers and-!"
(NO!)
(Can't make her worried about you!)
(You find your voice has returned.)
"No! It's not you...and I'm just..."
"I'm just...thinking about stuff, haha."
(...is she buying it?)
"...are you thinking about...something really bad?"
(...she did, kind of.)
(She can't know. She can't.)
"...we should talk about your papers."
"I had a suspicion...but they're...bonding papers, right?"
"O-oh! That's...actually a good guess?"
(She isn't as surprised as she usually is.)
"But Siffrin...I don't want to talk about that if... if something is going on with you."
(There's nothing wrong with you.)
"There's nothing wrong with me."
(Liar.)
(You ignore the growling in your stomach.)
(You ignore the uncomfortable feeling of your sweat dripping down your face.)
"...I think this is important for you. We can worry about me later."
(Mirabelle looks concerned.)
"Well, okay then..."
"Well, I-I'm not planning on getting bonded just yet, these are just dating profiles."
(You try to look surprised but your face feels numb.)
"They came from a dating company I asked before The King happened, and I haven't had a chance to properly look through them...and..."
(...you wish she'd stop looking at you so worriedly.)
(...you have to keep it moving.)
"Go on."
(She nods.)
"W-well, since it is someone I'm meant to spend the rest of my life with, I'm thinking I could use another pair of eyes. Your eyes!"
"Or rather, your...uh...one eye."
(She sighs, and only now you notice it seems like she's trying her best not to cry.)
(You're horrible.)
"...Siffrin...I-I don't think I can just-"
(Please.)
"Mirabelle. Please."
"...you're doing this as a distraction from tommorow, right?"
(You can barely hold back your shaking anymore.)
"Please. I need this distraction as well."
"...Let me help you."
(...there's some slight relief in her eyes, but still full of the same concern.)
"...alright Siffrin."
(She gives a small smile.)
"You can help me."
(She pulls out the massive folder of papers from her dress pocket.)
(...Maybe if she told you she was carrying this, you could have carried it for her.)
"O-okay, let's start with this."
(It's the picture of that strong buff man.)
(Tough muscles. Hard to chew probably.)
"...boring."
"Besides, they look like Isabeau."
(She gives a light snicker.)
"They kind of do. Next one-"
(You can't do this. You can't do this you can't do this you can't do this you can't you can't you can't you can't.)
"I'm sorry Mirabelle. I can't talk about this anymore."
(Your breathing is heavy and hard. Your sweating is getting worse. And your stomach won't stop growling.)
"...I...I'm sorry."
(You can't look at her. You can barely focus on anything. It feels like you could explode any second.)
"...I'm worried that...I'm..."
(If you say how you feel, will she hate you?)
(Even so, you can't stop yourself anymore. It feels like the exact opposite of before. All the words are spilling out. You hold back as much as you can. You try your best not to cry. You try your best not to scream or shout.)
(You feel horrible.)
(You feel hungry.)
"...I won't ever be bonded. I won't ever find a partner. I-I'm, I'm a freak. I'm a monster. I'm not worth a single notice. I'm...I can't..."
(It seems like everything is going dark.)
(You can't stop. Your stomach growls.)
"I can't be loved, no matter how many profiles I look through myself and I can't help myself and I'm always hungry and I..."
(...you try to continue but you can barely feel your own voice or mouth of face.)
(Everything feels so...out...of reach...)
(...)
(...you hear a sharp gasp from Mirabelle.)
(You feel everything snap back into view.)
(You're breathing eased up. You've stopped sweating.)
(...what happened?)
"...Siffrin?"
(Slowly, you turn to Mirabelle.)
(...)
(...you made her worried.)
(How could you do this to her.)
(You were supposed to help her.)
(...)
(You're stomach growls. You're hungry...at a time like this.)
(You really are a freak.)
(...you bury your face under your hat.)
(You can't even look at her properly.)
(You...)
(...someone puts a hand on your shoulder.)
(MIRABELLE puts a hand on your shoulder.)
(Even as you look away, you can hear her voice. She's not being afraid. Or angry.)
(She's being kind.)
"Siffrin..."
"...I have something to tell you too."
"The truth is...I don't really want to be bonded. Or...even date anyone at all."
(You already know this.)
"The truth is...I'm been scared too. I've been trying to force myself to change...and I've been worried I'm not strong enough to do it."
(You already know this.)
"And I'm worried that I'm supposed to do these things, because I have to show my faith, and I have to show...I have to show that I can do this."
(You already know this.)
"But...another reason is because...I'm worried. I'm worried that...it's possible I'll be alone, forever."
(...)
"When The King attacked, I was worried I lost all my friends. Everyone I thought I could ever count on...but...I was wrong."
(...)
(You slowly look up at her.)
(She's smiling. She's relieved you're finally looking at her again.)
"Siffrin. I don't know what happened to you. Or why you would think like that...but..."
"...I'm not worried about being alone. I've got you, and Isabeau, and Madame Odile, and Bonnie."
"And...I'm glad I can talk about these things with you. Because you're my friend. And I care about you. And I know you feel the same way."
(...you do.)
"So don't ever feel like you'll be alone when we're around, okay?"
(...you stay silent. You can barely find the words.)
(This time she shouts.)
"Promise me!"
(Woah!) "I promise!"
(She's smiling so widely it's nearly contagious.)
"Good! A-and if you're worried whether you wasted my time or anything dumb like that, I think you've helped me."
"I think...I don't have all the answers I need just yet. But I think...I may not need to change everything about myself."
(Clever. She's always been clever.)
"When I figure it out, I promise, I'll tell you about it."
(...you should say what's on your mind.)
"I'm glad I met you, Mirabelle."
"...me too, Siffrin."
"...I'll see you later, okay?"
(You nod and smile.)
(You're really smiling. You feel refreshed. You feel relieved.)
(...and yet, as she walks away, she looks back and glances at you for just a brief second.)
(She's nervous about something.)
(...but what?)
(...you can feel it again.)
(Your growing hunger.)
(You got a MEMORY OF UNCERTAINTY.)
(You'll always remember this.)
[Whatever happened there, Stardust? Well, in any case...]
[When equipped, Memory of Uncertainty boosts all your Housemaiden's stats by 25...but by giving her your turn, all her stats double temporarily! Woah!]
[Your Housemaiden also learned the skill 'Loyal Loving Barrier'!!!]
['Loyal Loving Barrier' not only absorbs all damage, but gives your family a buff depending on how much damage was absorbed! Just like your other shield, it's only for one turn though!!!]
[Seems like you'll only get this skill when you have this exact same conversation. Though, it's not easy to fake an emotional breakdown, is it, Stardust??]
[If only you had something that could trigger that awful fear when you wanted to…]

i don't think you understand (i'm pretty sure you do but please, allow me) how important it is to me to see caleb getting more and more angry, almost shouting, swearing when talking about trent.
for the person who's emotions usually make him shut down, either from overstimulation or being overwhelmed with trauma; for the person who run away from those who wronged him for a long time; for the person who always allowed the others to make of him and do with him what they wanted quite rarely making his true feelings about certain actions be known.
for this person to go yes, i want him dead. and then he ruined my life. and then, visibly worked up he took my life away. to then yell in genuine anger and i fucking helped.
it means so fucking much to me, so much — caleb confronting his past that affects the position he is in right now and does so audibly, in front of everyone. but the thing is, he now trusts these people, more than he ever trusted anyone ever since he acted upon trent's siccing. he is comfortable with these people enough that after an incredibly emotional meeting with astrid he was loud in his distress.
he was loud enough about the fact that he killed his parents. that he wanted to kill them. that he despises the very fact that he had been stupid enough in his teenage susceptibility that he acted upon his very will and that will never leave him.
because caduceus can talk about destiny and the great destinations of the paths that they all are on. beau could have told him, at the very beginning of their journey together, that he should fix it so that it won't happen to others, and caduceus later on would have repeated the sentiment in a much gentler way.
but fjord tried much gingerly before but finally asked upfront if trent was tied to a chair powerless what would you do?
but veth said i don't care about other people, i care about you and i want to do what you want to do for youself, not for her [astrid] or any other.
caleb caved in and talked about himself.
and the thing is, it's not that caduceus and beau are wrong and fjord with veth were right. it's not about good or bad and this or that.
it's about the fact that caleb is a victim, too. because trent ruined him too. and coming to terms with being a victim is a hard process and he is still on his very way about it but he is better at it.
and that is why it's so important to me.
#may watches the mighty nein#ep 126#my guy was having a full on breakdown#and m9 are much more understanding of his issues now than they ever were before#and it's so nice to see#but i will eat EVERY TIME caleb gets mad#every time#he fucking needs it#[slaps caleb] this bitch can hold up so much emotions and trauma#caleb widogast#the mighty nein#liam o'brien#critical role
