Jet is Not socially ..challenged.. like zuko..BUT after years of having this impenetrable mask + intensely manipulative tendencies as a means of survival, he suffered a sort of burn out. With time he more or less moved past that. Still a bit of benign manipulation, but only in the sense that he has an understanding of people in a way that easily allows him to choose the right phrasing to get his desired response. <- This wouldn’t work with zuko because he’s autistic doesn’t seem to operate using the same social rules as everyone else, so Jet would lean into gratuitous flirting and comments so sincere they almost come off as sarcastic. Attempting to charm zuko by being disarmingly genuine.

Zuko is generally miserable and hard to get along with (at least in the beginning). Jet would be drawn to him because of his scar <- “you’ve had a hard life like me trope. In my au zuko goes to an all boys catholic school, and his family is catholic. Their relationship with religion is complicated at best. it’s more of a performance + Ozai using religion & shame as a means of control. One must imagine God being a surrogate for your father when he cannot reach you. Zuko is a huge dick to Jet at the start, only because Jet lets him get away with it. Zuko’s never been around someone who allows him to take up so much space. Pushing jet away just makes him even more interested. They make me sick.

Jet would .listen to 2010s trap and hip hop, have at least one piercing, and smoke cigarettes

Zuko would listen to 90s emo. I say this because I believe URSA would listen to 90s emo. I have many modern Ursa opinions. Because I can imagine anything….

I have limited knowledge of New York/Jersey BUT☝️I know enough to know jet belongs there (or Chicago perhaps. But east coast ftw)…. He would be chinese + Italian <- inspired by natla jet actor. Adore him.

4: Who gets road rage?

TK. I think of Carlos as largely a calm driver because he has to be able to compartmentalise and handle a vehicle under extreme conditions (that being: dangerous car chases and travelling with distressed people in the back seat). But TK definitely has that New Yorker "HEY BUDDY GET OUT MY LANE!" honking horn thing going on. He learned to drive and then was instantly upset with every other driver.

Sorry @lemonlyman-dotcom because you know I LOVE your TK and music fics, but in my headcanon...it's Carlos! I have a whole thing around this, which I shall explain: Carlos' musical tastes developed in reaction to wanting to bond with and impress his parents, so he'll be into a lot of boomer sophistipop like my main man George, rock, country, jazz and other instrumental stuff and a whole bunch of music I know nothing about because I know sweet FA, tbh. Whereas TK will have developed his musical taste out of rebellion against his parents as a teen. He was really into emo, indie, Eminem, anything his parents would call "noise". I have such a thing for him being into Eminem specifically. Idk I can just see it. Overall I think Carlos' taste will have a grown-up edge and be a bit more eclectic, whereas TK's will be more nostalgic and dramatic (which I also love btw!) ALTHOUGH! I also think TK would enjoy movie scores.

As others have said...TK! He will very brazenly pretend he hasn't broken something, whereas Carlos will over-react when he breaks something and ve very ashamed. Plus, we know TK is instantly in Carlos' lap when he's trying to pretend he isn't up to no good lol.

KATY- imagine this. Two idea✌️

Tasm Peter Parker bc it occurs to me New Yorkers either love or hate spiderman. Aside from the Bugle who else wants to take pictures of spiderman, fans. So I give you Peter sneaking up on r in costume after seeing them with their camera out.

He swung by pretty quickly but they managed a decent photo and thus slow burn ✨️friendship✨️ They both geek out over photography and Peter is lowkey their model (Imagine how estatic you would be to know spiderman of all people loves something just as much as you do). He shows them secluded spots knowing they would never exploit them for money or fame or whatever else.

R actually keeps all of their adventures with Pete a secret. A box of poloroids, prints, and so forth under their bed or smth cliche like that. A bonus to me is if they were in a bet to see who could capture spidey on camera and that's why they were out stalking following him around in the first place.

Prowler Hobie from another dimension. Hear me out, with a spiderperson r who's with our Hobie. Now it's not a love triangle type thing, it's just important to the plot.

R is sent to P Hobie's dimension on a mission from Miguel. Anomaly is captured, it's just another tuesday when out pops P Hobie who is not pleased to see another masked amateur trying to fight crime under the guise as "spiderman". He basically thinks they're a doppleganger until r stupidly says "Hobie?" mid battle.

R's confusion because 'huh it's my dork but emo' and P Hobie is 'my dead lover but not really?' He's quick to catch on to the dimesion hopping bc r does what his r did but in reverse?? He's also smart, that's our pookie.

They talk after calling a truce. R is stupid again bc she doesn't think sharing certain information is bad bc 'my pookie, what could he do wrong' He can do wrong, very wrong. I also excuse it with our Hobie's been off on missions for awhile so she misses him and P Hobie fills the void (NOT HEALTHY BEHAVIOR I CONDONE BUT PEOPLE HAVE FLAWS OK!?).

P Hobie has been working some time travel tech and r was the missing piece to completing it. So imagine r's surprise when on another mission they see him. R then realises what he's trying to do thus we have a spot 2.0 (Aka, trying to stop his r from dying).

They brawl literally in every other dimension but they can never best one another. When r finally gets a handle on the situation their watch breaks and P Hobie's device is dead too so now they both have to beat each other to the necesary tech to get back to where they need to be (...in my version they land in Gotham- the spiderman-dc crossovers have gotten to me).

judging by the new yorker article where matty talked about how when baby hann is backstage, the greenroom turns into a creche and how everything is a super family-friendly environment, i would say it's the exact same for when your baby's there.

she's about seven months old and quite chatty, in that she babbles and makes grabby hands and anyone who so much as even says one word to her. and you decided her first show should be the reading self-titled 10 year anniversary show, complete with her own little self-titled merch onesie that she looks absolutely adorable it. she has a little black bow on her head to match it. in short, you've got your own lil emo baby to match her dad.

matty is of course the first one to see it when you get her ready, instantly cooing at her and admiring her. he hasn't stopped cuddling her honestly and if it weren't for him having to strap her into her baby seat for the car ride, you suspect she would have been attached to him for the entirety of it. apart from matty, george is the first one to see it because he's right there outside, sneaking a quick cig before he has to go in but you've never seen this man put out a cig this fast before as he practically runs towards matty to get a proper look at her. he barely has the patience till matty gets her out of the car seat and hands her over to him. and you watch your tiny tiny baby wrap this giant of a man around her little finger while he bounces her around and compliments her every two seconds like "look at you, all ready to rock and roll aren't you?" and "the cutest member of the band ever!" she giggles when he blows a raspberry on her tummy and tries to grab a few of his shiny necklaces.

all in all, it's uncle george who carries her inside where everyone else is chilling and getting ready for the show. and you know once the rest of them see her, she's going to be passed around from one set of arms to the other like a lil parcel until everyone is done cooing over her and telling her that she's the cutest baby ever. you're also quite happy about the fact that she's wide awake and hopefully, she will be throughout the set even though you only plan on watching the show with her on one of the screens backstage since the lights and loud sounds might be too scary for her just yet. and she's too small to have a fitted pair of headphones 😭

anyway, once all her uncles and aunties are ready for the show, you take a few quick photos--one where she's sat on matty's shoulders, the box nicely visible on her torso, and surrounded by everyone also in black. absolutely adorable <3

Donald Glover Says Goodbye to Childish Gambino at Barclays Center

Beginnings and endings: I was fortunate to see Donald Glover’s rise as Childish Gambino’s CAMP tour rolled into SummerStage back in 2012. At the time, Glover was still on Community and had yet to garner the critical praise he would for his own Emmy-winning series Atlanta. More than a decade later, the multihyphenate returns for a farewell swing as Gambino, announcing that Bando Stone & the New World would be the final album back in April. Now a father of three, he managed to take time away from his family to give a proper send-off to his lovable musical persona.   

On the second night at Barclay’s Center, Glover brought up what he’d touted in an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe: “The live event is what makes it valuable to me.” Opening with welding sparks on the main stage to deflect attention from the B stage, the rapper emerged in a black latex spacesuit, singing “H3@RT$ W3RE M3@NT T0 F7¥,” an oversized helmet covering his face. Background about the tech that surrounded the space was provided as he made his way through the crowd on the floor, an icicle-like lighting installation at the center pulsating with twinkling luminescence.

Fans were hyped from the get-go and hands immediately waved side to side for “Survive,” leaving the multitalented artist to remark, “This might be the best show yet.” The first half of the set was mostly dedicated to more recent material including the KAYTRANADA track “Witchy.” The producer and DJ made a guest appearance walking down the runaway to join Glover, who put his falsetto on display.

Soon the latex coat was shed and a sea of cell phones peppering the arena like stars in the night sky accompanied a song written for people in love “Steps Beach.” Throughout the show, first-time concertgoers and “real fans” were acknowledged accordingly. The upbeat “Feels Like Summer” — setting the vibes for newbies — welcomed all New Yorkers to bask in the dog days of summer.

And those “real fans” erupted in response to a trio from CAMP: “L.E.S.,” “Heartbeat” and “Bonfire.”  In a choose-your-own-adventure moment, the venue selected “III. Urn” over “II. Shadows.” He held back some choice singles to cap off the evening, and the downtempo slow-burn classic “Redbone” had Gambino proclaim, “Love you forever.” And after a brief dip backstage to have the end credits run, a flood of rainbow lasers welcomed Glover back for an encore with the emo opus “Lithonia.” —Sharlene Chiu | @Shar0ck
