A weary sigh falls from your lips. You know what that last text meant.

You lean back against the pillow. It's 2AM and you can't sleep. Just one of those nights following one of those days in the middle of one of those weeks right square in the middle of one of those years. You just can't catch a break. The last thing you need right now is your ex...situationship? You were never official so you're not sure what to call it. The whole ordeal ended months ago, or at least that was the plan. The truth was the two of you were never really over even after you found someone else, someone who stayed. And sure you felt bad that this still happened, you never wanted to be one of those people. And yet here you are. Again.

You could just say no. She never pushed - nudged a little sometimes -but was never outright forceful, never once made you feel like you owed her anything. It was always your choice - and that's why you hated how easily you gave in. She never pushed because she never needed to.

So just do it - just say no.

You could practically see the smirk light up her face in your mind's eye - mischievous, victorious, ravenous.

She knew what your last text meant.

"...fuck."

In what felt like no time at all she was at your door, standing in the frame looking like sex on two legs - baggy jeans just barely hanging from her hips with her boxers peeking out, a baggy tee she'd unevenly cut the sleeves off that revealed the leopard print bra underneath. And that smile - that lethal smile of hers that cuts straight through your inhibitions every. single. time.

"Ya gonna invite me in, huh?"

You roll your eyes. "Pretty sure that's just a formality at this point, B."

"Aww, that's no fun." Her smile sharpens as she steps through the door and into the living room of your apartment. "Soooo, gonna give me the tour?"

She was trying to be coy, or cute, or some other word that starts with 'C'. She was clearly enjoying herself, like it was a game (and maybe it was). You didn't really want to pick at that particular scab, for your own sake.

"Not the first time you've been here, B."

She gently takes your chin between her thumb and forefinger. A chill of exhilaration races down your spine at the contact. The way her bright blue eyes are peering into your soul only intensifies the excitement quickly building throughout your body.

"I looove it when you play hard to get, doll."

...fuck.

Why does everything you do turn her on? And why is it so easy for her to wrap you around her finger?

Still holding your chin between her fingers, she pulls you in for a kiss.

Oh yeah. That's why.

The second her plush lips meet yours it's over. Any hesitation left in your body evaporated on the spot. You were again fully coiled around her finger(s) in more ways than one. And the sounds - the absolute vulgarity that freely fell from your lips in the heat of these snatched moments - she was able to pull from you with just those fingers were a better award than any Grammy, a stronger high than any drug.

Pure oxytocin.

"Why do we keep doing this?" you ask in the afterglow. Your head gently laid across her chest, listening to her speeding heart.

"Because you say the nastiest shit in bed and it's fuckin' awesome," she says with an evil smirk.

And despite yourself, you laugh.

You were absolutely fucked.

"This Is America" is a song by American rapper Childish Gambino (Donald Glover). Written and produced by Gambino and Ludwig Göransson, with additional writing credits going to American rapper Young Thug. Ludwig Göransson is also the person behind the score of the Mandalorian and the Black Panther movies, as well as Gambino's old sitcom series Community. The lyrics and accompanying music video, reflecting the core of the Black Lives Matter movement, confront issues of ongoing systemic racism, including prejudice, racial violence, the ghetto, and law enforcement in the United States, as well as the wider issues of mass shootings and gun violence in the United States. Originally, Gambino intended it to be a diss record towards fellow rapper Drake. "This Is America" became the 31st song to debut at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming both Gambino's first number one and top ten single in the country. It has also topped the charts in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The song won in all four of its nominated categories at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video.
