Click Clack talks about the world like he wrote and edited it, and the people like they're his characters. He says he wrote "the perfect recipient for each speed dater," and he made sure that everyone's match is in Hobbyhoo. Does he have some control over what happens in the world and what actions people take? Can they mess with fate? Do they call the Hobbyhooians their characters because he literally made them? I need to know the extent of each god's power and if they create mortals pronto

I really like this idea! It's so interesting that Godpoke makes no effort to talk about themself. They don't even correct anyone who assumes they are the new Godpoke, they don't try to fight it, they just take it in stride. The artbook says the cowpoke purposely dressed like King because they were excited to attend her ascenion party. I think Godpoke idolized King like many other humans, and was excited to follow in her footsteps. I think they have difficulty speaking for some reason, either from a speech impediment, selective mutism, or they are deaf/hoh and can only understand what people say bc they can see their speech bubbles (either a power they already had or a power from the Megapon).

Anyway, I like King trying to get to know them, but they are somewhat resistant to it. Maybe they don't like who they are. Maybe they're really shy. Maybe they've been judged harshly in the past and don't want it to happen again. Maybe they love this fresh start and don't want to go back. Whatever the case, I want Godpoke to be open about themself and be friends with King.

I had some thoughts that I was told were good.... about like. the godpoke as their own character. and about them & King's postcanon friendship.

and how. during & after the events of the game, everyone else probably just sees godpoke doing its godpoke things and are like yup! that's just good ol' godpoke! (only communicating using other people's words and the occasional nod or shake, drifting around following orders & helping people, generally being the most perfect little mail carrier the grove could ask for with barely a complaint despite being having the role of godpoke literally dropped from the sky onto them)

and King is the first to vocally be like. hey. isnt that kind of really weird? this little cowpoke saved the entire world, but none of us know anything about them personally? ... nobody even knows their name?? We just call them godpoke???

I feel like King would think of it as the least she could do after all the godpoke has done for the grove, for all the listening and learning they've done about all the grove's gods' and people's lives and problems, to try and learn at least a little bit about Them. (and also i feel like King is just generally the type of person who desires to understand the people she meets as much as she possibly can.)

So King starts trying to help godpoke communicate for themself. probably a lot of giving them pointers on using megapon, and a lot of speaking very deliberately to give godpoke the chance to twist her words into what they really wanna say. its probably a long and slow effort... megapon wasn't exactly designed as a full communication device, just a mail cannon. and maybe the godpoke is stubborn, too. maybe they refuse to use anything else but megapon. maybe they're hesitent to share themself. and of course, the two of them are both busy helping the grove heal from the almost-apocolypse.

But King is the Eloquent God now. and among all her other new responsabilities, she's found someone who might need her words to help communicate for themself.. idk

Also I can't think about it too hard without getting so fucking emo about it but. Brennan giving Emily the hint of an out during that convo with Zara. He knows she was on the fence about playing Fig this season because she felt like her story was wrapped up in Sophomore year but he convinced her to play Fig again because he knew the pay off about Porter would be worth it. But in that conversation with Zara he was giving her the chance to let Fig go off and have adventures with Ayda and not have to feel tied to that character when they do a senior year season. And as both a DM and a friend that is so kind of him to seed into the story, and especially in the episode that he knew the Porter pay off was going to happen- even though the idea of not having Fig in a fhsy season absolutely breaks my heart

the sandra lynn / fig conversation is driving me Insane. fig saying that sometimes she doesn’t wanna exist as herself at all…not wanting to ask her friends how they see her (because she’s afraid to hear their response) saying that to someone she is a monster and she Cannot stop thinking about it. sandra lynn starting the conversation saying she needs to step up but is also simultaneously taken aback about what fig expresses and doesn’t know how to responds to it and suggests getting ice cream. sandra lynn saying “convincing people they deserve good things is really tough” talking about herself but how it also reflects fig. insane!!

There is an emotional support dog on set - of course there is. An ice-cream van turns up at 2pm - burly crew members walk around the grounds eating tiny pink strawberry cones, looking delighted. And, for reasons I never fully discover, someone has a ferret on a lead. As I wander around the gigantic mansion, I bump into various cast members, who all seem overjoyed to be there. Claire Rushbrook, who plays Monica Baddingham - Tony Baddingham's posh, tolerant wife - is in the orangery, having her makeup done, eating a scone. "I mean, we are doing acting," she says. "I want to make that clear. But... it is also enormous fun." When it comes to the atmosphere on set, I later talk to David Tennant about this subject. "Yes - there was a lot of due diligence about only having... joyful people on set. Crew and cast," Tennant says, carefully. Dominic Treadwell-Collins [ producer ] is more forthright. "We had a very strict 'no arseholes' policy," he says. "We did a lot of research. On EastEnders, some of [the cast] were really unpleasant; rotten apples who ruined it. For Rivals, we talked to producers and agents off the record, and if they said, 'He's a marvelous actor - but also a wanker,' or 'He'll be amazing, but he did beat up a girlfriend ten years ago,' we just didn't cast them. Lots of people [in television] will put up with it. We were like, 'Life's too short.' Also, if you've got David Tennant on the call sheet, he's such a genuinely lovely, kind, decent man - and that flows down through everyone else.
