As much as the 'haha Takemichi went to save his husband after saving his wife, bisexual much?' joke is funny, people who seriously thinks Tokyo Revengers should've stopped when Hinata was finally safe and sound missed an important component to the plot.

Yes, it all started with Hinata - but since when was it all about Hinata?

Takemichi, kind-hearted Takemichi, should've just stopped everything after saving her? He got into Toman for this reason, yes, to get closer to Mikey and stop him - and Kisaki - from killing her, but he also sincerely got closer to Mikey. And everyone else. And he's supposed to simply leave them be when 'mission: save Hinata' is complete? As if the number of people he wanted to save didn't get longer with each timeline? Those are his friends why would he throw them all away.

To protect Hinata he decided to stick close to Mikey since he failed to prevent Mikey and Kisaki meeting each other - and he got attached to Mikey during that, as well as all of Toman. Each steps to save Hinata was also a step to save Mikey from corruption and self-destruction. It was all linked from the start.

There was a shift after Bonten, okay, whatever, the only thing that truly changed was Hinata's importance in it. New enemy? That happens in each arc (right, sure, there wasn't Kisaki anymore). Mikey being more and more violent? Again, each arc featured a moment of Mikey showing signs of being mentally unwell - and now it was aggravated because it was two years earlier than what Takemichi got used to go back to. Etc, etc. Toman may be disbanded, but its (at least main) members still meet and interact and they all kept in touch - Mikey aside. That just a change of mood, a mix of the present/future timelines with a more serious setting and of the past timelines with how young they are, despite not being as young as before. And future timelines have never been a problem - there's a lot of love for Manila and Bonten. If Wakui had had time and energy, Kanto Manji, all 70 and so last chapters of TR could've worked with its fanbase. For some reasons it didn't, and I don't get why by myself

now don't get me wrong, I adore klema but seeing few fanfics (I repeat, few) turn the "friendly rivalry" between the two turn into klavier mostly harassing Ema to go on a date with her (WHICH SOUNDS VERY NOT IN CHARACTER) and Ema being "Ugh this fop, stupid, glimmerous, pretty boy! But alas I'm being dragged into a restaurant, guess I'll give this guy a shot." is... something

there is absolutely nothing wrong with exploring these kinds of dynamics though, but it sometimes feels like authors try to romanticize this kind of behaviour (fiction, so it isn't that bad, but when I realize this I'm immediately turned off :')). because to me this just sounds out of character

like oh my god the multi chapter fics in which Ema (slowly) gets closer to klavier, either through trauma bonding or just with their revelations in canon? I am a SUCKER for those, but in the case of one shots it can be difficult esp working with a lesser word count (in general, of course. either way longer one shots is just more foods gifted by the holy mother above (aka authors))

how do you imagine Edgeworth and Phoenix parenting Trucy?

Thing is... I usually don't imagine them parenting anyone really... I mostly focus on humor and tension between the two. Closest thing would probably be Maya and Pearl but I see them more as surrogate family members akin to siblings and nieces or some third option. I guess you could say it would be two guys and their dog? As far as I am concerned two men and a dog are a family.

Reason for that being is that Trucy didn't "grasp" me as much character wise so it's a bit difficult to flesh and figure her out...aaand I'm not actually that fond of Apollo Justice (the game that is), atleast narrative wise, I just really really prefer the goofier tone of the OG trilogy and its characters. That is to say there are characters i legitimately enjoy in AJ, Klavier is flamboyant and fun, Ema Skye is wonderfully re-imagined as grumpy and a little bitter (which brings more personality to her than she had in Ashes), Kristoph is a wonderfully unhinged Regina George-esque prissbitch and Apollo is a high strung little chicken nugget. Not really a fan of the disbarment either, and while "Beanix" is an interesting idea and I certainly understand why people enjoy him it's just ehh.... it sorta makes sense for his personality to change but I personally didn't like that it changed that much. Then again I generally don't like change and am very stubborn about certain things. This to say Anon I'd hate to see you sad and empty handed so i give you this:

My best guess would be that Wright would be good at consoling, telling stories, being creative and imaginative and such, also surprisingly, house cleaning. Edgeworth would be good with homework, general organizing of things such as paperwork, finanical organizing maybe? I think he would also give great advice and nuggets of wisdom. As far as I am concerned they can both cook, just different things.

Anon and future anons please don't let my opinions discourage you from asking further questions or drawings connected to AJ. There are things I do like about it, I love having conversations about it and seeing other people's perspectives just because they are so different from mine. But most importantly I like making people laugh and feel good so don't hold back, yea? I apologize for the rant, a lot of things are interconnected and i wanted to give a good explanation on how and why I see things.

ah yes, preferring another Eren ship means that you're misogynistic & hate Mikasa, because if you ship ea it must be because you hate her

I understand this criticism because I know this specific flavor of misogyny is very common in fandoms. But truthfully, I haven't seen any of that sentiment from eas. I've seen it with many other mlm ships, but luckily not with ea. Most eas I've encountered either love Mikasa, or simply criticize some of the misogyny in her writing & wish she was written better because she's really cool as a concept.

for me at least, I haven't been able to fully get behind em (despite really trying) because I adore Mikasa. I think she deserves better than how Eren treats her for much of the show - it's sad to me to see such an incredible girl devoted to someone who refused to show her affection beyond jealousy & protective violence for most of the show (+ scarf ig). That is my own perspective based on my own experiences, and other people are allowed to have their own interpretations. on the other hand I want em because that's what Mika wants :(

also, hate to break it to you, but eas don't see Mikasa as competition - either because that's a stupid and misogynistic view, or because she's not even a contender in their view of ema. Many also enjoy aruani and love annie, some prefer jeankasa or mikannie or mikasasha, and some even like em too - they aren't throwing Mikasa under the bus because they hate her. They're simply focused on ea (as many ems are focused on em) or they're expressing critique and disappointment in the writing of Mikasa's character, which is not inherently misogynistic!

In my own posts, until they're ea specific, I tend to include Mikasa. Partially to counter that perception, but also because I like her and understand her role in the story and in ema

Irritation or resentment among eas tends to come from homophobia and heteronormativity in writing and in fandom, and/or from the very overwhelming em fandom. Again, not at Mikasa, who is a fictional character subject to the whims of a studio!

also, sometimes people are queer and just prefer queer ships, simple as that

but hey, at least it's free entertainment!

Sol Badguy: 10/10. Any plate would be demolished. Whether it’s eaten or destroyed physically is best left unsaid.

Ky Kiske: 7/10. A single slice of white bread.

May: 1/10. Would demolish the eating contest, but would be horrifying to witness.

Axl Low: 6/10. Would finish, but only realizes after he finished that he could’ve cheated by pausing time to catch his breath.

okay i know i just reblogged something on this and went on a rant there but jsut. kristoph gavins sprites. are so sprites. they’re just

this transition messed me up so bad when i first saw it. kristoph isnt an intimidatingly designed guy but this is legit a little creepy

also i dont know whats really going on with it but his arms are truly always crossed. screaming to the sky the name of his mortal enemy while his hair flies wildly behind him?

arms crossed. utterly broken, unwound, spouting gibberish about the meaning of the court after hes already lost?

arms. crossed. hes so tense. unbending. yet, after all the chips are down, rather than doing what you would expect and doubling down, stiffening into a stone statue, all of his body language reverses.

what the hell is that? whats going on? theres something going on here but i dont know what it is.

also, pulling back to the first pose, its weirdly prevalent in other characters. apollo famously has it in his edgelord phase in dual destinies:

but you know who also has it? wocky goddamn kitaki. yeah.

maybe it's just because im a bit of a paranoid person. but i saw that sprite recently and went into a full spiral for a hot second. im choosing to take it as a sign of how good The Kristoph Pose was as visual shorthand for Oh Shit. and, maybe to a degree, at demonstrating apollo "nervous energy incarnate" justice's own paranoia because of the whole perceive dealio. cuz lord knows he noticed when ema did it. and when wocky did it. his boss had been doing that while admitting to murder not a month prior. seeing wocky do it with his false bravado definitely raised his blood pressure. and ema was probably even worse, cuz i dont think she does it until after you give her the fingerprint powder and establish her as trustable. like imagine finally having someone on your side that doesnt speak in riddles or swing panties around and thank god youre normal and then. thump. heartbeat goes up. shes doing the thing. shut shes doing it. i know these signs. I've gotta get away i cant get sucked into this again i cant get tricked like this again i cant HAVE this again

and this isnt even getting into the glasses push. the hand devil. the eerie totally normal happy smile sprite. the one where all of his face muscles scrunch up. i dont really have a lot of thoughts on kris as a character but by god do i have thoughts on his spritework. he makes me want to learn to draw so i can drop his poses into things sporadically and use The Pose as shorthand the same way AJAA did
