TLDR: my players killed LJ in my SCP campaign! They stunlocked him by shooting his limbs off, burnt him with a flamethrower and sedated him with radiant damage. One of my players, who's character thinks LJ killed her parents [wrong but she's crazy so], literally started ripping him apart like an ANIMAL once he fell, even tho his corpse was on fire Looted his voice box and one of his marble eyes and soon crushed his voicebox after this moment. My players are as equally insane as the monsters I throw at them <3

Hiii I’ve been following the Malleus talk for some time now and wanted to ask what things you do like about him or good traits you think he has. I ask because when you explained that why you don’t like Vil you also said what you liked about him. That he works hard and is confident. So I’m wondering if you have some of those for Malleus!

Aaaaaah, I tried my best to come up with things I like about Malleus but fair warning that it’s not a lot and I had to pick really specific instances rather than general characteristics 💦 I hope that’s okay!!

His mom is hot--

There are times when he acts appropriately neutral, wise, and dignified, as a crown prince and future king should be. I like these moments and want more of them over him being pouty or lashing out. A few examples of this include Fairy Gala (he knows there are tensions between nocturnal and diurnal fae and rightfully stays out of it), Ghost Marriage (he cannot thoughtlessly propose to Eliza but does support Riddle and Lilia in their preparations), and Vargas Camp (when he instructs Sebek to apologize to Leona, who still counts as a fellow prince).

His patience with Sebek. Early on in the fandom I think there was this expectation that Malleus would find Sebek annoying? But it’s refreshing to see that he isn’t usually bothered by Sebek’s presence and handles interactions in a level-headed and blunt manner. He doesn’t discourage Sebek and his special interests either; Malleus tends to entertain them (like the time he sat still and had the royal painter do a portrait of Malleus for Sebek’s birthday gift) or is otherwise pretty indifferent about it, though of course he still corrects Sebek when he steps out of line or intrudes on others. For example, Malleus still speaks up when Sebek is rude to other nobles or is disturbing the peace with his loudness.

Malleus’s love and care for the gargoyles of the City of Flowers/Fleur City. His friendship with that one gargoyle was just so adorable!! Short it may have been, but it was still very genuine.

His parallels with Leona. A crown prince with few close friends or family… versus a prince who will never have the crown but is surrounded by loving people… They want what the other has so badly, and I think there’s such a tragic irony about that.

The one time Malleus truly felt fear (thanks to Rollo). Listen, LISTEN 😭 This was legitimately so cool????? To think that it would be Rollo lighting a fire under Malleus’s tail, forcing this overpowered fairy to experience that same feeling others may have when he unleashes his power on them… Oh, how the tables turn. It’s interesting that Malleus reacts as if he’s amused by the sensation of fear and welcomes the challenge; it sort of implies he was growing bored of the same old routine and is actually showing some strange respect to Rollo by deeming him a worthy opponent. This being one of the few times Malleus shows vulnerability instead of dominating the battle, of course I’d love it 😂

But most importantly…. Malleus’s best trait is—

Eliza Henderson

It starts off like this:

Eliza Henderson gets a phone call from her mom that her cat is missing. Eliza is very obviously hundreds of miles away at college in a different state and can't do a single thing about it. She wouldn't anyway, her mom loves that cat more than her or Dustin.

She tells her mom she'll be home next month for Christmas break anyway and she'll help her find a new cat if needed.

When she gets home her brother is screeching, not much is new, and excited to go to the Snow Ball.

"Just don't screw this up for me." Dustin is pacing around her room.

She flips through a magazine bored. She pops her gum between his pivots.

She rolls her eyes and glares at him. "How would I mess up your playdate with your new friend?"

"It's not a playdate! Steve's coming to do my hair! It's a sacred bonding moment that I won't have you mess up with your girl-" he wiggles his fingers at her, "stuff."

She puts the magazine down and stands up, she brushes off imaginary crumbs and huffs at him.

"I'm going to Jenny's, enjoy nerd." She walks past him and can see him flip her off in her peripheral.

She covers her face trying to hide the smile that covers it.

The following year she goes around town and tries to find the little (not so little) rugrats.

Her brother has been away all summer and she wants to do something special for him.

She's driving down the main road when she spots the kids on their bikes heading towards the new mall. She turns around and follows them all the way until they enter an ice cream shop.

She runs up to them and manages to grab Lucas before he enters.

"Eliza!" He greets her with a smile.

"Hey kid!"

"You're literally six years older than me."

"That proves my point." She feels a prickling in her neck and quickly flips around to see a small redhead glaring at her.

"Hey Lukie...do you know why that small child is glaring at me?"

Recognition dawns on his face and then a small blush is creeping on his cheeks.

"That's my girlfriend Max, she's probably waiting on me." He shrugs his shoulders sheepishly.

"Oh man! Look at you! All grown up." She pretends to wipe a tear from her eye. "You know Dustin told me he has a girlfriend too?"

Lucas raises an eyebrow. "Sure, if he can raise a demonic lizard he can do that."

"Wha-"

"Anyway!" He chuckles nervously.

"Right! I won't keep you long, Dustin is coming home soon and I think it'd be cool if you guys planned some kind of surprise party for him."

"That'd be cool we can totally do that."

"Awesome! Invite that Steve kid Dustin always talks about."

"Steve?"

"Yeah, apparently they're best friends but I've never seen him. I thought I knew all the kids your age."

"Right...well-"

"Ok great! Bye Lukie!"

When she picks up her brother outside the burned down mall she forgets to ask how the party went.

It ends with a zombie Eddie Munson.

She was home for spring break.

She was walking in from the store, grocery bag piled high in her hand, humming a new pop song.

The screaming really threw her off.

There was her baby brother, hanging off a man holding a...nail bat, pleading with him to not hurt what looks like a bleeding and bruised (and wanted!!!!) Eddie Munson tied to a chair. The regular crew of kids was circled around them including one new girl with her arm raised up.

She had a long day.

"Enough!" She screams.

Every head turns to look at her.

The little buzzcut girl moved her arm so her palm was pointed at Eliza.

"El no!" Dustin hurries off the man and stands guard in front of Eliza.

He turns around and his big tear filled eyes almost make her forget what's happening.

...almost.

"Dustin dear," she mutters through clenched teeth.

"Eliza-"

"What is a WANTED criminal doing in MY HOUSE! And you!" She points at the kids. "You know damn well to take your shoes off. You also know to come to me if you need help and you also know NOT TO FOLLOW DUSTIN'S PLANS!"

"Eliza-"

"Don't even," she holds a hand up to his face. "I know in my bones this is your fault. You'd be so incredibly lucky if I didn't tell mom."

"Mom?" The man with the bat is asking.

"I'm sorry who the hell are you? Dustin how do you know two grown men."

"I was just gonna ask the same question," tied up Eddie asks. "Who are you?"

"I'm Eliza Henderson...duh." She flips her hair over her shoulder.

Dustin rolls his eyes. "My sister."

The bat man gasps and mutters something like "another older role model" he looks defeated.

"Don't be sad Stevie this one was assigned from birth." Eddie smiles with a tongue between his teeth.

"Stevie?" The pieces are all clicking. "You're Steve?! You are not a child."

Mike raises his hand from the side, "technically we're not children-"

"Shut it Wheeler!" Both her and Eddie shout.

"Ok." She takes a deep breath. "The whole story. Now."

"Eliza we can't-"

"NOW Dustin!"

"...ok."

He's a terrible storyteller.

Eddie is trying to chime in with exaggerated versions of the story to help 'set the scene'. Steve is interrupting with little facts that make her heart rate skyrocket like:

"Well if you think that's bad what about the demogorgan you raised off nougat."

"He did WHAT!"

"Eliza please don't tell mom!"

And has led to her creating new catch phrases like:

"I knew you were up to something."

And

"What the hell did you do that for!"

Overall a very overwhelming experience.

They told her everything including why Eddie was tied to a chair.

"He says he's fine but he died! In my arms! He can't be real he has to be some upside down creature."

Eliza is going to come back to the 'in my arms part' because she knows she'll be the one up at night holding him through his nightmares.

"El was about to do a scan to see if she could find anything out when you stormed in."

"Well sorry for accessing my home in the middle of the day. I did not mean to interfere with your chaotic evil doings."

"That's ok," Dustin says seriously, "you didn't know."

She slaps him upside the head.

"I'm getting some air."

She heads out of the living room and out the back door.

She spots the new girl, El, sitting with her arms around her knees. She quietly moves to sit next to her.

They sit in silence for a bit.

"I like your name." Eliza says.

"It is not my real name."

"That's ok, nicknames are cool. We have the same one." She knocks their knees together. "We're both Els."

El gives her a small smile.

"You've had a tough life kid. Let's see if we can finish this. You really think you can handle all this?" She waves a hand around hoping El gets the gist. She can't exactly say "Hey you're gonna scan that guy for demonic goo right?"

El nods at her and slowly stands up.

"Alright then. I guess this is happening."

She stands in her bedroom with Steve. Team Big Kid, as it was reluctantly named, was ready in case something went wrong.

Steve paced the floor, his bat dragging next on the floor.

"Can you not? It's gonna rip my carpet."

"Oh!" He stumbles a bit. "Sorry."

"It's fine." She hates the silence.

"Thank you." She says.

He seems surprised.

"For what?"

"Taking care of him."

"Well I-"

"I'm jealous of you."

"Me? Why?"

"When I thought you were another one of his children friends I said, fine, I don't need to be with him. The last thing I want to do in my free time is hang out with some kids." Tears prick her eyes.

"But you're not a kid. You're a grown up. You're like me. The only difference is you've spent so much time with Dustin being the sibling I can't be. You've stayed close. You've protected him in three different apocalypses-"

"Four."

"Perfect. Even worse." She clears her throat.

"My point is. I miss him. You've been there for him and taught him life lessons. You did his hair for him! I can't compete with that. You didn't even know I existed until I interrupted your threatening session."

"Eliza-"

There's a knock at the door.

"He's clear! It's him!"

Steve flashes her a bright smile.

"Dustin is a special kid. We all get brought into his orbit and we can't leave. He loves us all the same." He holds out his hand to her.

"Come on, let's go see another person Dustin sunk his claws into. Then we can all compete for the title of number one Dustin handler."

"Deal."

Then they all become friends and Steddie happens or something and Eliza and Dustin get really close again and she moves back home after graduation. Max was never hurt and the town maybe cracked a little but it was overall not that bad. Eddie got magically healed I guess idk or maybe he's a vampire but Vecna gets killed doubly and it's all ok! Yay!

Obey Me! : Named my MC Eliza (short for A-Lizard) Ramskin (because they're represented by a ram/sheep in the game)

• the game makes a chocolate lizard keychain a significant part of MCs relationship with Mammon

• one of the characters calls MC a "wolf in sheep's clothing")

Twisted Wonderland : Named my MC Roo (because it rhymed with the name suggested by the game and also after the baby kangaroo from winnie the pooh)

• googled up Roo to see if it's a real name and it means "Companion; Friend; Neighbour".

• the game uses MC as mostly just a POV for the player. Their biggest moment of significance in the game so far is that they're Malleus's first proper Friend

Love Island the game S6: Named my MC Lia (short for Emilia because the game suggested Emily)

• the game gives MC a surprise twin named Amelia

11 for Marcel, Anatol and Roman because he's bundled in with the Ana package: Marcel was my first WoD pc, so he's largely a port of my main DnD guy (Dillup the Diviner) who also got blended with Midnight Gospel dissociative ennui and Mackgyver goofiness. Anatol... less fun and goofy, this one. Ana/Roman were originally built to be kinda a parable tackling my thoughts/feelings regarding to "trans widow/er" narratives and spiraled out from there. I haven't posted their full origin story outside of the snippets in Limits, but a lot dwelling in that uncomfortable zone of folks reaching for things they do not have language for, so they reach into the phantoms they construct of loved ones as mooring points and then freaking out when those points prove to be imagined/changed. Also just a general exploration of "toughing through" a relationship that perhaps has reached its sell-by date. Roman is married to an image of Ana that never was/will never be but has convinced himself that is a natural state that must be returned to. Ana is married to an image of Roman (the man who was disowned by his family to be with Ana, who despite being a bit of a patriarchal terror in his own right was one of the few folks who begrudgingly gave him space/grace outside of his own father) that Anatol has convinced himself is someone he needs to rebuild/is the touchstone he needs. This is also mirrored with Mihal/Kliment, except Mihal in a shocking twist is probably the only motherfucker in this generational pain cycle to recognize, in that one moment, that he was chasing a construction and just... letting go, letting that fixation die. Understanding it was making him and the person he claimed to do everything for worse. That he was unconsciously doing what his own sire did to him, and ooooh no if there's anything he hates more than being passe it's being reminded he's very similar to the Old Dragons. Also the fixation was immediately resurrected when Ana entered the picture, because pobody's nerfect but lil ruffly bugboi tried.

Wow I've already done a massive ramble anyhoot there's a healthy dose of Artemy Burrakh from Pathologic 2 in Ana as well bc I had Pathologic brainrot when I was first drafting him, lmao. He also got his last name Stamatin from that game.

7 for All Assortment of Lads: Marcel is a Divination Wizard, as was his Dillup Double! And like Dillup he'd def find a way to become a Hag. Ana would def be a Warlock of some stripe, likely a Great Old One patron. He'd be a human and be grumbly about it. Eliza is pretty straightforwardly a halfling Rogue. Roman starts as the lvl 1 Runescape farmer and ends up as a pretty bomb ass Ranger. Mihal would be the patron Ana's praying to, lol. 26 for All Assortment of Lads: Ana compulsively categorizes people he meets as different types of flora so this is the perfect question!! Ana- Venus fly trap Roman- Strawberry Blossum Mihal- Eidlewiess Kliment- Red Rose Eliza- Blue Hydrangea Marcel- Ivy/Kudzu 27 for Ana and Macel: Marcel is a Cuckoo Shrike bc he barrels in out of nowhere and completely wrecks other people's houses for his own ends. Ana is def some kind of weird lizard or stickbug. Part of me wants to say "do dragons count bc he's genuinely the type of kid who'd buy one of those Dragonology books growing up and also his grandfather was an Obertus Monk so Big Lizard Stanning is just a family tradition" but also another part of me feels like that's a cop out tzim answer lol.

28- Ana and Marcel: Marcel rolls with the skaters/burnouts smoking by the dumpsters after school before doing some light shoplifting at the Casey's down the street. Ana rolls with the theater kids to Perkins at 1am as the designated Butch Carabiner Haver of the department. Roman is the single jock at the end of the queer theater table struggling as the "Sure I Am An #Ally bc my S/O is queer but don't get it twisted I'm straight ha-ha" boyfriend. Maybe someday I will dig out the wacom tablet that I know to be existing in a desk drawer somewhere to do my own OC doodles but today is not that day lol.

While I don't think 2x12 was the first I love you, I do think that it was the first time they said it with that much weight.

When I think about how TK and Carlos were both afraid of expressing and accepting love for different reasons, I think about how something like this is likely to have slipped out in a quiet moment, as opposed to some big grand statement like 2x12 was.

I imagine they both felt it pretty quickly after getting together, that what they were feeling went beyond attraction, it's love. And that scared them. Carlos probably said it to TK several times while he was sleeping, just to know what those words feel like when they leave his mouth, and every time he says it it feels more and more undeniable.

TK knows he feels this way too, but after Alex he wont let himself fall too fast. He still doesnt feel secure in the relationship because it's so new and he hasn't yet learned that Carlos' love for him is unconditional. It isn't until Carlos lets it slip on a night when TK only appears to be sleeping. It isn't until TK hears those words and feels a sense of belonging and joy that he hadn't felt in a very long time, that he finally begins to let himself accept the fact that this is different. That it's okay to love Carlos, because Carlos loves him too.

How I would have personally wrote the villains in Marvel Spider Noir

First my bias (that’s a little controversial), didn’t enjoy the carney gimmick. Now don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of critiques they could’ve made of the 1920-30s treatment of disabled people and ��carney culture’ that they didn’t do that would have made me like it more. I could get into the ‘why’ more but for now I’ll just say I didn’t like it.

Black Cat/White Widow - not a villain, but she’s here. Honestly I just wish we got more of her, she is such an interesting character and unlike the majority of Felicia’s we’ve met. I would have definitely leaned more into the White Widow thing AND given her a storyline with Daredevil and Electra(Eliza).

Chameleon - No notes really. The like melting face scene was awesome, just wish we saw more of it.

Doc Ock - Let’s get it out of the way: Making the two disabled villains also nazis was very ableist, and very much villainized the disability.(I’m making a post going more in depth dw) And to be quite honest, dude did not need to be disabled. You could change very little and still have the same story with him not being disabled, the only thing is we’re less likely to get the multiple arms. So I also would have had him come back. I would’ve had his boat go down and him have a ‘transformation’. I’d probably keep it in the same mystical eldritch god vein, but like an octopus god so we get freaky octopus Octavious.

Goblin - The fake skin thing was kinda a stretch for me(of all things ik lol) but whatever. Again, leaning away from the carney stuff and leaning into curses and eldritch god horror. I think him making a deal makes the most amount of sense, cause in other comics HE HAS! I’d still keep him a freak and I’d consider not killing him off and actually sending him to jail in the first run. It just feels like a cop out by the narrative so Peter can avoid truly exploring his morality and the consequences of working with a corrupt system(sending Norman to jail). Would I also have Peter eventually kill him when he gets out of jail? Yes.

Huma - she’s an interesting character, not one of the typical Spider-Man villains… but that whole comic was kinda a mess so it’s kinda hard to pick apart what she actually was and what her relationship towards Peter was supposed to be. The concept of someone else who is embodying a god but using it for evil is a nice contrast to Peter and the spider god.

Kraven - honestly I feel like they kind of wasted the character. Like I do get what they were going for but there is sooo much potential there. I would have had him come in after Peter felt established as the Spider to hunt him. Maybe he was after the spider statue and came across The Spider instead? There’s just a lot you could do there with the whole mystical aspect too. Like he could’ve been a monster hunter and Peter is just another monster to him.

Lizard - Again with the disabled Nazi thing but whatever. His appearance was very much blink and you’ll miss it in EWAF. And I believe he’s one of the scientists who gets apprehended(?). I saw in a fic recently the idea that the US gov. cuts a deal with him where he can still do science but for them, and I agree with that a lot. It makes sense, cause the US actually did that A LOT before and after WW2 with Nazi scientists. And I could see an interesting Lizard story line coming from that, where he gets to be a freak of his own creation.

Mysterio - Making him a two bit magician who stumbles across actual magic and immediately uses it for evil is so funny to me.

Sandman - I liked this more than I thought I would. Making him just a condensed hulk of a man is so funny to me but absolutely brutal.

Shocker - again hard to judge but whatever, dude’s kinda meh. His steroid version tho was crazy.

Venom - We’ve gotten 1/5 of a comic of this guy but I do not care. I think what the comics have set up is super interesting, because this a symbiote that didn’t contact Peter before Eddie, AND Eddie is a priest. One who fully believes all the bad things he does, including his gambling addiction, is in service of god and the greater holy good. AND WE’RE EXPOSING A SYMBIOTE TO THAT? As it’s FIRST HOST? Not going to end well. Ik I’ve been saying symbiote but we don’t actually know if that’s what this is. With the things we’ve seen in this universe it is very possible that this is some form of mythical or eldritch creature rather than extraterrestrial. And personally I’d go with the former.

Vulture - … it’s weird in how many universes he’s a cannibal. But anyways, again I would have moved away from the carney thing and more into the mystical thing. We have god like creatures chilling in the wings in this universe, USE THEM. Maybe he was chosen, more likely he cut a deal of some sort and became a monster from that. I also would have made him more of a monster, not just the teeth but also vulture eyes and talons/scales, maybe even some patchy feathers on his shoulders and arms.
