I'm so glad the creepypasta fandom is fucking normal despite being infamous, at least the tumblr ecosystem is normal. Occasional spats exist but it's like every few months but half the time it's just a Mild Disagreement. Half of the time.... However we can all agree that we can separate author from creation and ALSO discern for ourselves when something in fiction reflects on the creator. We kicked out Sally's creator for a reason, after all. And it was not about the portrayal of a topic in Sally's original story. It was about what she drew for her own... enjoyment. Now, do we hate Sally enjoyers or imply that if you like Sally but dislike something like Offenderman, you don't care about real victims or are a danger to children? No! Do we imply people who like Offenderman are the same as above? Also no!!! Every Offenderman enjoyer I've personally met understands why he's not liked. They make their own versions for personal reasons regardless, and that's fine!! It's also fine to not like Offenderman and avoid content of the character/be vocal about your distaste for any reason! It's easy to do with a simple tag block. It's fine to disagree with one another, it's not hypocrisy to have personal boundaries in media for any reason. especially if the reason to scream 'hypocrisy' is due to your own personal reading on a character that isn't widely accepted. Nuance is a valuable thing in this fandom and I'm glad there's a lot of it. It's to the point that whenever a new never-before-seen person appears, spitting vitriol about the very things I mentioned above, they are killed on sight. Don't imagine we'd get this level of nuance on smth like Tiktok, but that isn't our ecosystem.

This is to say, uh.... Good job pasta fandom! Keep up da good work. I give u a kisth.

I was going to have a giant rant about a post I saw about LJ, implying he's a pedophile and you're also a pedophile if you like him but dislike Offenderman, but I realized halfway through that the words I was saying is what anyone with common sense would come up with and It was me saying "water is wet, grass is green" to a guy who thinks "water isn't wet, grass is purple" I must tank this blow and Kill Them With My Mind

Worlds Dumbest Arguments are being made in the fandom again oh my god

As the certified LJ guy, yeah kinda true LJ doesn't really have characterization in his original story, more akin to a regular slap-on murder monster of the week. It's more of a cut and dry short story that's super edgy and gorey. LJ's characterization in the Origin Story is a lot better but it's only because he gets to speak. The Origin Story itself feels like half of it's just "And Then Isaac Killed the Innocent Person in a Long Drawn Out Way" His stories lean WAYY too hard into the gore and shock value that it detracts from the genuine feel the other pasta stories, as flawed as they are, have. His design and -premise- of his origin story carries him HARD. Genuinely think if his design wasn't so cool, a lot of people wouldn't care about him. [probably even me, maybe] Canon LJ kinda suxs

This might be a hot take but I think just like everything wise is. LJ the worst like character-pasta. Sure like the grammar is better but it just feels so nasty and gross and doesn't have any of the earnestness a lot of the other character stories do.
