Ok so I have been stewing this crossover au in my brain nonstop for the past few days and. I am nothing if not committed to the bit, so. Volume cover redraws :)

So the idea is simple! Crossover reincarnation au where ASL is reborn in Spy x Family. They’re each born separately and none of them are born with the same names as their previous lives, and with no way of finding each other, they each find their own thing to do in the world.

Sabo, too used to the dangers of being a spy, eventually finds a cause to devote himself to again, in preventing war from engulfing the country he was reborn in. Ace, drawn to fire as he was in his previous life, used arson as a means to rob rich people for sustenance and survival, and is eventually scouted and hired by Garden as a fire specialist and assassin. And Luffy, though born in perhaps the poorest condition, grows up happily and takes whatever part time jobs he wants to do.

The thing about Sabo is that, as much as he seems like a young man of good repute and high standing within society, everyone in WISE knows that he is a massive nuisance. Nobody knew in the beginning how a child less than half the age of most of their veteran agents could have the same skills and knowledge in their profession. Sabo was— and still is— hyper competent, and by the time WISE figured out just how much of a menace to society he was, it was too late.

Ace forgot for the first few years of his new life that he wasn’t made of fire, and consequently, received multiple accidental burns. This did not deter him, however, from growing up to be a very skilled arsonist, well-practiced in every which way to start a dumpster fire or house fire. As a teenage he would use this often to draw attention as he robbed rich people blind. When he was caught, he was given an ultimatum by Garden: join them and receive payment for starting fires and causing problems under contract, or face the government and authorities for his crimes. Begrudgingly, he joined Garden, but eventually comes to appreciate that he can make substantial money in his element.

Luffy is Luffy. No telepathy or experimentation, no fancy schools, no gimmicks or secret identities. But he has still lived an extremely colorful life in this world, full of fascinating and kind individuals who have helped him grow up healthy and relatively happy. He goes where he is free, and he takes whatever part time jobs he wants in order to make the minimum he needs to survive.

Ace and Sabo find each other first, in their late teens, and neither of them realize that the other remembers their previous life, but both refuse to separate. (Sabo thinks Ace doesn’t remember, because Ace didn’t recognize him. Ace never saw Sabo grow up past 10, however, so he doesn’t recognize older Sabo immediately. By the time he does realize who exactly Sabo is, Sabo has backtracked and pretends to know Ace from a dream, or from somewhere else.)

Sabo’s attachment to Ace, predictably, causes problems between Sabo and WISE, but by then, Sabo is indispensable to the organization, and they make an exception for Sabo to be able to remain with Ace, so long as Ace never finds out what Sabo’s actual job is. Ace, on the other hand, hides his job because he doesn’t want his brother, who he has just found and who does not know Ace well enough yet, to know that he makes a living from killing people.

And they find Luffy sometime afterwards, prior to the beginning of the Spy x Family canon. Luffy figures out, not long after moving in with his brothers, both of his brothers’ secret occupations and the fact that both of them remember their past memories. He thinks it is common knowledge, however, and so he never brings it up.

Head canon that none of the Black cousins knew how to drive and so their respective partners attempt to teach them and it goes terribly wrong and most likely scares their partners for life.

Idk if this is a controversial opinion but I low-key hate when people make Kim and his brothers distant but decide Kim is besties with Vegas at the same time

Kim had no problem walking into a random warehouse and immediately shooting at Vegas on sight

Like idc if it's just that Vegas and Kim are friends/friendly but it's when they specifically add that they are friends and Kim hates his brothers/does not interact with them but he kept in touch with Vegas?

My ultimate HC is that the Firefly's are related to the Sawyer's. Drayton is either Grandpa Hugo's younger brother or nephew. I'm calling it that Baby, Tiny, and RJ are cousins to Nubbins, Bubba and Choptop. Both in Texas in the 70's with very similar 'Family Fun' activities.

My most devious hot take is that I don’t get how anyone can look at Risotto and Abbacchio and NOT think they’re related. They look so similar to each other.

They’re both tall, buff goth guys with white, spiky hair and inhumanly colored eyes. Even their CLOTHES are similar. They both have odd looking hats, an x shape over their chests, and the first letter of their names on their belts.

And I know I’m not crazy because I’ve seen multiple people say they thought these two were brothers or even the same person which just shows how much they look like each other

okay so jiang jingrui is related to jiang li through her dad. ye shijie and ye mingyu are related to her through her mom. she calls ye shijie and ye mingyu familial terms for maternal relations (biaoge, older male maternal cousin, and san'jiu, mother's third brother). jiang jingrui, who is not related to them, calls them the same things as jiang li, as though they are his maternal relations. is that usual? i can't tell if that's a standard thing to do or if he is being especially expansive in his view of what's yours is mine et cetera. he's like the cousin of my cousin is my cousin...it's free biaoge. which i support, i just can't tell if he's goofy for this or not because no one else seems to be doing it.

What are your headcanons about Niko's family? Also when does his brother ever get mentioned I've never seen that dialogue

It gets mentioned in Packie's friend activity convo. It's the 3rd or 4th one, after the Derrick/Frankie assassination.

All that gets mentioned is that Niko had a brother who's death he had actually witnessed and that's it. Figure he was probably an older brother. Gave him the name Matija (which is the Slovak/Croat/Serb version of Matthias). Figure he died towards the end of the Bosnian war so like 1994/95-ish

Also just with the way Niko talks about the war, I figure he's ethnically a Serb but was probably born and raised in what would become Bosnia. That's a pretty common thing. My family is ethnically Hungarian, but my grandma's side are from Romania thanks to territory funny business in the early 1900s. Most South Slavs I know have some parts of their family like that.

I contain multitudes in that I'm obviously a big Puzzle/Blindshipper and Mobiumshipper but also really enjoy AU's where Yugi, Yami and Atem are brothers or cousins. I think Yami's name should be something like Asenn or Astennu so he and Atem can get the very real sibling experience of "our names are similar/start with the same letter so everyone always fucks up who is who"

anyway i think i'm going to give the tutoring job a try.... i was able to be crazy and talk about it in therapy yesterday and it was really relieving to be able to verbally express all of it.... my therapist was sooo sweet, at one point she was about to ask me a question but then she was like "wait wait sorry i'm impatient - " and i was confused for a second because she usually never says that and she was like "so do you know if you got the job???" and i was like ohhhh lol um yeas . i think . and she was soooo happy for me it was so cute she's so nice to meee )': but yeah i think i got it ? i was given the paperwork and everything... and at the end the coordinator shook my hand and told me she was looking forward to working with me 0: i guess it's more up to me from this point on whether i want to stay and that'll depend on how training goes.... i really hope i don't get insanely afraid and opt out because of anxiety u__u i think i have a few external factors / pressures (?) that will force me to tough it out, like how my professor is the one who recommended me and everything....

i think now that the anxiety has mostly passed.... i think i feel excited?? i'm also honestly quite happy about the fact that my professor believes in me ?? and thinks i'm smart??? or at least, skilled in english / writing???????? like that's so crazy sorry i'm still not over that i really haven't been able to completely grasp that . like that's CRAZY . that's soooo crazy what the hell . like what do you mean a cool nice smart adult who i just met in february thinks I'M smart?????? that's crazy . that's so crazy . like i'm so used to the adults in my life like my family + older relatives thinking nothing of me / thinking i'm dumb as hell but like . he thinks i'm smart???? wtf.... he thinks I'M capable of HELPING other people in their education???? wha.... what do you mean.....

idk it's nice . it's so nice actually . it's weird to say it but it makes me really happy..... to be recognized and acknowledged like this.... even if it ends up not working out, he still recommended me which means something.... gwah.... anyway . a part of me is still anxious of course and i'm definitely going to try not to let this get to my head and instead let it serve as something to look to and hold on to when i'm lacking confidence in myself. i definitely have a lot to learn in regards to english and writing and i'm really looking forward to doing more reading and learning... i might have to look up foundational english grammar shiet like clauses or whatever because i did not fucking pay attention in english in 4th grade lol
