What if sqh finally manages to convince mbj to let him come with him on a hunt "Because I would like to see how my kind is doing it, I could learn!". Pretty much all an excuse to pass more time with him.

usually, when he encounters monsters he either miraculously manages to beat the monsters or hold on long enough to have mbj save him as if it was child's play to kill these monsters.

But what if this time sqh cannot really get away from the weird plant monster who has tentacle (because /of course/ he had to create a tentacle monster for the smut fest that had been PIDW).

but like most anime he had seen including them, things end up being more sexual than they should be and he isn't sure how to feel about the fact that he might be /a little bit/ into it, despite wishing-

it was a completely different setting and maybe coming from mbj instead. Maybe it the aphrodisiac that helps him be this into it.

He's soon saved by mbj, who is now stuck with an aroused sqh, which isn't too hard to take care of and sqh /loves/ that. at least that was a better part.

he ends up panicking two days later when an /egg/comes out of him after he had been feeling a bit more sick all day, which makes him feel horrible. had he been carrying those around for the-

He tries running back to the bathroom to hide there and find /something/ to manage and get all the others out since he assumes so many more must be there.

He's so relieved for once that mbj is stuck with matters to take care of in the northern kingdom. So he makes himself a bath, scared that if the eggs were to smash on the ground he would be stuck with both eggs in him that he needs to get out as soon as possible and maybe a baby monster, who knew how fast these could grow?

So he's in the bath, desperately trying to get all the eggs he had never noticed in the panic and pleasure that had been his "fight" before. He starting to tire a bit yet he only manages to get three out and he can feel there are still some left.

This is when mbj shows up, having been worried to not seeing his husband around especially after a servant told him he saw him run back to their room looking worried and pale.

He freezes at the sight of sqh soaking in now cold water, eggs floating around him while it seems to be pushing more out.

sqh is a bit mortified to be found out like this to be found out like this and he wants to hide away, even more, when mbj comes next to the bathtub, pulling him a bit closer and ready to /help/.

sqh wasn't sure what to think about how /interested/ mbj was at seeing him basically lay eggs but if it meant he wouldn't be angry at it, he would not complain about it.

After the final egg is pushed out sqh is totally worn out, leaning fully against mbj who was now looking for something to wrap him in and warm him up. He receives kisses on his face, mbj leaving a couple of praises escape him for how good he did it, trying to comfort him. sqh nearly feel like he had just given birth to their own child with how he acts. (the thought isn't so bad actually, he's sure he had invented a way for it to work). "What do we do we the eggs?" he asked after looking back at the floating eggs.

"eat them" mbj suggests and sqh isn't sure what to think about the idea of eating eggs that were /inside of him/.

they end up learning these monsters cannot really be eaten, so mbj simply disposes of them to make sure no plant monster would grow anywhere close to sqh again. although something in sqh tells him mbj might not mind if he's suggesting it one day, although he's not ready to try something like this again.ping him stretch more to make better way for the eggs what was at first a tiring and stressful task suddenly became a rather pleasurable, mbj making sure his husband would feel good rather than hurt from what he was doing.

But I am having an encounter that, were I in the south, would've invited me to include that in a reply. Yes I know it's an insult. That's the point. The closest I've got is a "have a nice day" which doesn't come across as well without the ability to emote with my face and voice.

contemplating an SVSSS fic where Airplane transmigrates into Tianlang Jun instead of Shang Qinghua.

he wakes up before Tianlang Jun was about to walk into the HH Palace Master's plot, but too late to really do much about Su Xiyan's situation or the frame job. of course, being Airplane, he doesn't go face down the sects and get sealed under a mountain. but he also doesn't know what to do about the whole situation with Luo Binghe.

he was too vague in his outline and especially in his actual story. finding Xiyan or possibly some random washer woman who lives along the Luo river is a needle in a haystack situation, and he didn't ask for any of this to happen to him, so he just ends up leaving it alone. Tianlang Jun goes back to the demon realms with his confused (but relieved) nephew, and works on consolidating his power there and on thwarting the attempted incursions of Huan Hua Palace.

HHP has egg on their face because they riled up the other sects and got them into this alliance/ambush plot and then the heavenly demon they were supposed to fight didn't even show up. hasn't even been seen in the human world since. while HHP tries to spin it as them being so strong and formidable that they scared him off, the other sects feel like they're just blowing hot air and trying to take credit for something that never even happened. was that head disciple of theirs even involved with a demon at all? suspicious how she just disappeared, too. maybe it's a cover-up. no one's particularly impressed or convinced after the fact that HHP's claims are on the level.

which at least means that there's no concerted effort to wage a war or anything. Tianlang Jun meets a young Mobei Jun and Airplane decides to expend a lot of time and energy in helping the young prince consolidate his own power, so that's a whole thing. there's no system so Airplane's not obliged to preserve the plot, but he still knows it's out there and he's gotta skirt the line between giving MBJ absolute power on a silver platter and not setting MBJ up to be killed by the protagonist one day.

there are benefits and problems to TLJ mostly leaving Luo Binghe's whole journey untouched. on the one hand, he anticipates that everything around Luo Binghe will continue just like in the novel, so that's easy to predict. but on the other hand, that means he's in for some trouble when the blackened protagonist emerges all super-powered and unbeatable from the abyss and starts taking revenge on everyone who wronged him (a category which potentially includes the deadbeat dad who abandoned him for years).

so as the time of the immortal alliance conference approaches, Tianlang Jun starts to think that he needs to get ahead of this.

the most logical solution is to prevent Luo Binghe becoming quite as OP of a protagonist as he'd been the first time. since TLJ is plenty powerful himself (one of the things Airplane enjoys! as well as being very rich!) LBH really does need every edge he could possibly get to be a threat to him. so, why let him gain those edges?

this leads to TLJ's brilliant plan: just don't let Luo Binghe get thrown into the Endless Abyss! no blackening, no all-powerful weapon, no gauntlet of monsters to hone his skills, just a run-of-the-mill heavenly demon hybrid who could never in a million years take his old man in a fight!

TLJ decides he can two-birds-with-one-stone this situation by capturing Shen Qingqiu. then, one day if LBH does still make it to his doorstep, he can present him with his hated scum villain as a peace offering. like well son I know I abandoned you to suffer on your own, but plausibly I didn't even know you existed, so here, have your abuser to dismember in cathartic violence as you please! become a filial son and this old man will help fund whatever massive harems you want to build!

so, shortly before the immortal alliance conference is set to take place, TLJ goes and steals himself a peak lord.

Shen Qingqiu is... kind of different from what he expected? but oh well, it's been years since he wrote the novel and lots of characters have turned out somewhat different in person from how they were on the page, and the guy was always a mess of contradictions anyway. TLJ hands him over to his servants with strict instructions to keep him locked up, but not to harm or kill him (revenge is reserved for the protagonist, after all!)

Zhuzhi Lang, who witnessed the last debacle where his uncle took a sudden keen interest in a cold but beautiful human cultivator, makes entirely the wrong assumption (as do a lot of the palace staff) and figures that TLJ has just become more pragmatic about pursuing his lovers. Shen Qingqiu is given appropriate chambers (and restrictions) and word soon spreads that the Demon Emperor has captured a human cultivator to serve as his concubine.

so, this version of SQQ has actually been Shen Yuan since Luo Binghe joined the sect (and also doesn't have a system and thus had zero plans of throwing LBH into the abyss), and he is desperately trying to figure out what kind of changes he has unwittingly invoked here that Luo Binghe's father should be still alive, and free, and also kidnapping him to be his goddamn concubine?! that has to be a misunderstanding, right?!

Mobei Jun is mad. and jealous. and mad. but a concubine isn't an empress, so that job posting is still available, right? it better be, he has been waiting more than a decade for the official proposal!

TLJ meanwhile decides he's going to go secretly watch the immortal alliance conference just to make sure that the universe doesn't contrive to drop LBH into the abyss anyway, but weirdly enough, Luo Binghe isn't even there. listening to rumors, he gathers that uh... some stuff has changed? like Luo Binghe is head disciple of Qing Jing Peak? and apparently went crazy when Shen Qingqiu disappeared? except that some people think they might have eloped???

maybe he shouldn't get his rumors from Xian Shu disciples, those girls remind him of rpf conspiracy theory shippers from his old life. they're probably just way off base! hahaha... ha...?

well at least TLJ did a pretty good job of covering his tracks, so there's no reason for anyone to suspect that he captured Shen Qingqiu. or there shouldn't be, until he goes back home to find that every single demon seems to believe that Shen Qingqiu has been taken by him to be his lover. where did anyone even get that idea?! TLJ has been dutifully pining in his unrequited and inappropriate love for the young Mobei Jun for years now! whenever anyone asks he insists he's still mourning Su Xiyan! it's been a whole thing!

but oh shit, truth aside, there's no way those kinds of rumors have remained strictly contained to demon ears. both demons and cultivators have their spies after all, and even if they didn't, news moves along the borders.

sure enough, TLJ barely has time to try and dismantle this misunderstanding before a young Luo Binghe arrives on his doorstep, along with Yue Qingyuan and the very-much-still-alive lord of Bai Zhan peak, for some reason, all of them extremely pissed off at him!

I'm not sure when exactly Mobei-Jun clued in 100% to his feelings for Shang Qinghua. You can write lots of different fun fics placing Mobei-Jun's "oh" realization in different places in SVSSS. I do think it took him a minimum of 5+ years, but that still gives us 20+ years of possibility because Moshang are truly incredible like that.

When Mobei-Jun fully realized his feelings is not important at the moment, however! Not the subject of interest here! Because I'm currently thinking about a possible stage before that, in which Mobei-Jun trusted Shang Qinghua more than anyone else in the world but hadn't yet allowed himself to think of such a ridiculous person as a romantic prospect. The stage when, due to pride and/or prejudice, Mobei-Jun still has Shang Qinghua in the "unfuckable" AND "unmarriageable" zones, but also still intends for his human servant to be by his side for the rest of his life.

Because, like, the stage before the long-brewing bubble of realization pops or the egg cracks or whatever can be the strangest of headspaces, where a person is juggling multiple conflicting ideas and still insisting to themselves that the ideas don't conflict. (See: Shen Yuan through all of SVSSS.) And I think Mobei-Jun deserves to suffer the embarrassment of looking back at his younger self's original life plans and finding them painfully obviously ridiculous.

Like, I think there was at least a solid month (but possibly even several years) where a younger Mobei-Jun's plans for the future looked something like this:

Become king. (Bring Shang Qinghua to ascension ritual.)

Kill or neutralize my uncle. (Ask Shang Qinghua for ideas.)

Conquer Demon and Human Realms. (Shang Qinghua should no longer waste so much time on his pathetic cultivation sect.)

Get married. (Doesn't really matter who it is. Have Shang Qinghua pick someone decent out.)

Have children to gain heirs. (Have Shang Qinghua raise them.)

???

Success. (Shang Qinghua is there.)

The random questions extra is such a treasure-trove of information on Bingqiu’s dynamic and inner thoughts put into definitive language. Take for example this moment:

“What sort of agreements do you have about [beep—] ing?”

A lot of the svsss fandom seems to be under the misconception that bingqiu sex is unenjoyable, that Luo Binghe has to be coddled through it while crying and/or that Shen Qingqiu gets no real joy or physical pleasure from the act. Even Shang Qinghua expresses this doubt by immediately following up by asking if they’ve just “misunderstood the implications behind the word ‘agreement’” (lol), but if you actually look at their sexual history up until that extra—which is the second to last one—then… they’re right. The last time Luo Binghe cries genuine tears and Shen Qingqiu experiences genuine un-sexy pain was during their very first time (not Maigu Ridge) in the Bing-mei vs. Bing-ge extra. Shen Qingqiu feels pain in a way that makes him attempt to dissociate rather than being honest and risking ending the moment, lying about how it feels “for Binghe’s sake,” and Luo Binghe, very reasonably, gets upset at this and cries. The only reason why they don’t stop is because Shen Qingqiu changes positions and ends up incidentally allowing the scale to tip more onto the side of pleasure, which Luo Binghe picks up on and replicates with extreme precision.

But when you look at the other explicit sex scenes in the extras, none follow that same formula: Luo Binghe’s tears are now him acting “cute” towards his partner, not crying, and the pain Shen Qingqiu feels in these moments serve to heighten his pleasure rather than diminish it (hence my distinction of un-sexy pain, above), as evidenced by him continuing to egg Luo Binghe on in each scene. On the surface, nothing has really changed from their first time, but when you pay attention to their behaviors and actions, then you see the truth that, actually, everything has changed. They’re more able to differentiate each other’s feelings in the midst of sex. They’re able to enjoy themselves all the way through. Hell, Shen Qingqiu even becomes the initiator at times! They have obviously come a long way in their communicative abilities since the start of their relationship, and I love the ways in which the story addresses this by telling and showing!

Part of Moshang’s “reconciliation” (if that’s the right word) after Shang Qinghua ran away (if THAT’s the right word) involves him asking for hand-pulled noodles - something he even admits is asking for a mile when given an inch. And Mobei-jun, who is fairly bad at communicating emotions in human-terms, does! It’s the ending of Shang Qinghua settling down to start writing again & one of the few moments that it’s relatively clear that Mobei-jun is showing affection (in human terms)

Not only is Liu Qi an amazing cook, his cooking is actually what first draws Bai Chuan to him.  To quote: "Not long later, Liu Qi served up two dishes of home-cooked food. Bai Chuan uses his river god-powers to act as a magical dishwasher after Liu Qi's done cooking. Peak domestic. What harmony.

Shen Yuan wasn’t sure what he should have expected when his friend came over to his place begging him to try something with him.

Trying to summon a demon sure wasn’t on the top 5 of the possibilities.

He ended up accepting while being both pessimistic about the result but also curious about what Shang Qinghua would do. I didn’t believe they’d manage to somehow /actually/ summon anything, but still, he could let his friend hope.

After more than an hour of trying everything, it came without much surprise that nothing happened. “Don’t look so disappointed, what would you want a demon for anyway?” Shen Yuan had asked amused.

His friend had stayed over a little longer, eating some takeout while talking about his latest update to his novel. An overall pretty usual night if he forgot all about the whole summoning thing they did.

Shen Yuan knew he should probably be cleaning up the mess they made in his living room, but it was now pretty late and he was too tired for that. “Not like anything will happen if it stays there” he mumbled to himself, waving it off. Problems for tomorrow a-Yuan.

So he simply prepared for bed and went to it immediately after. Sleep came to him pretty easily despite the summoning circle still present in his living room.

Yet, at some point in his sleep, his dream that had been peacefully started to change into something that made him anxious. Made him feel oppressed and uncomfortable. At some point he started to wake up, realising that the feeling of pressure didn’t go at all.

Then he woke up suddenly when he felt it get even tighter, something actually wrapped around him. His first instinct was to try and fight out of it, but whatever was holding him only made its hold on him tighter, making him groan in pain.

Then he froze when he looked up, coming face to face with a stranger. A beautiful stranger too, with strange red eyes with slit pupils. And what was this strange marking on his forehead? Wait, were these scales on his face too?!

He didn’t have his glasses so he couldn’t be sure 100%, but this person looked strange.

Then he looked down, realising that what was holding him was actually a giant snake's body, which was connected to the intruder.

Shen Yuan was now stuck between being terrified for his life and fascinated by him.

“W-what do you want?” Shen Yuan ended up asking, cursing internally for stuttering like this. He had to be brave and not show his fear!

The half-snake being then grinned at his question, getting even closer to his face. “I had been waiting for your little friend to be gone so I could have you all for myself” replied the demon.

Shen Yuan couldn’t help but feel a bit confused about this. What did he mean? Did he want to eat him? Wouldn’t it have been better while his friend was here? After all, it was more meat.

“All for yourself for what?” he laughed nervously, trying to pull himself out of the coils around him which had loosened up a bit. He instead lost his balance when the demon started moving around his room, making him fall back on his bed.

Yet he couldn’t get up from there either, since part of his body was on him and pinning his legs down.

“Because your cute and I like you,” the demon replied, leaning over him again. “And I needed someone to keep my eggs warmed up and safe” he grinned.

This made Shen Yuan pale a little. Did he just say eggs? Despite how absolutely fascinated he’d probably be normally with his monster obsession, this was a bit too much for him. He was not an incubator?!

He couldn’t help but start to struggle again, especially when the demon started ripping off his clothes. “W-wait, I’m a guy!! I can’t carry your eggs, I’m sure it would be a terrible idea” he tried to convince him, shivering a little at the cool scales sliding over his exposed skin.

“Don’t worry, I know humans of any gender can carry our eggs” the demon purred, pining his hands against the bed with ease. “So a-Yuan doesn't need to worry~” he assured him.

This made Shen Yuan frown a little bit. How come he knew his name? He was certain he hadn’t told it and he was pretty sure either he or Shang Qinghua would have noticed a huge ass snake demon in his living room. “How do you–”.

“I was just listening to you through the summoning circle” the demon replied, one hand slowly caressing his body, slowly making its way to his ass. “It was pretty weak so I could easily just refuse to be summoned, but it was still an open door for me and I just listened in after thinking you’d be perfect for me~”.

Shen Yuan really should have cleaned up that summoning circle of theirs, he wouldn’t be in this situation otherwise.

“I am Luo Binghe” the demon finally stated, “Remember this name well, I’d love to hear you moan it prettily under me” he then admitted.

Then Luo Binghe’s hand finally let go of his wrists when he seemed to have stopped struggling, but that was all he had been waiting for.

He instead tried to flip over, attempting to crawl away. He did hear the demon click his tongue behind him, before feeling large hands grab his hips and pull him backwards.

“I didn’t want to do this, but I guess I’ll have no choices” the demon growled near his ear, “I guess it will also help with other things”.

And before Shen Yuan could ask what he was talking about, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, making him struggle even more than before.

But then he felt his body slowly become heavier, his movement more sluggish than before. He wasn’t paralysed, but he sure wouldn’t be running really far like this.

“Now a-Yuan will be a good boy for me” the demon cooed, kissing his cheek.

“And I promise you, you’ll soon be feeling really good too~” Luo Binghe then stated, before kissing down his back towards his ass.

Shen Yuan could do nothing as his ass was being propped up, a cool and slick liquid being dumped over his ass, feeling it slide over his rim and down his balls. A shiver ran up his spine when he felt a finger start to tease his rim, the other hand trying to make him relax by caressing his hips.

What are your fave scenes from each Mxtx work?

I probably don’t need to say this, but I will anyway! SPOILERS for SVSSS, TGCF, and MDZS below!

Ill start with TGCF since it was the first I read. There are so many scenes that I loved, and this series was so long its a bit hard to narrow down, but everything in the White No-Face arc was impactful to me specifically. The 100 sword scene, the drunk scene, the suicide scene…I just think the arc did a really good job of portraying how helpless Xie Lian felt. There was literally nothing good happening. But my FAVORITE scene from it all was the bit where the man came back, in the rain, to apologize for being angry and tell Xie Lian to suck it up and get out of the rain. Something about the scene was so incredibly human, both for Xie Lian and the man. We have a tendency to see bad and assume there will only be bad, and it wasn’t just that it was a “happier” ending to it all. It was interesting and very REAL to see someone who had yelled at him for no reason turn around and apologize, explain he’d had a bad day, and then help him out without babying him.

MDZS was the second I delved into (technically at the same time as SVSSS but that’s not important) and I loved it for a lot of the same reasons. My favorite scene is probably the one where Lan Wangji visits Yiling and runs into Wen Yuan and Wei Wuxian. Everything about the setting was bittersweet—despite all of their disagreements in the past and the situation they’re in now they walk on egg shells and just sort of. Be friends for a bit. And then, Wei Wuxian, who knows on some degree that he’s ruining himself to save these people, walks in on the Wens throwing him a large dinner. And Wen Qing says they were AFRAID to ask him. That they thought he was some scary lofty figure but have grown so grateful that they want to give back somehow. And he just feels as if it doesn’t matter anymore how hard it is. Something felt so…painful but heartwarming about this scene. Like watching an old video that includes a family member that passed away or finding something from a friendship that didnt end well but was happy at the time. Im not sure if that makes sense. In that moment, despite their troubles, they just got to exist.

For SVSSS I’ll cheat and choose something from the extras because its kind of a tie. I loved the Bamboo Branch Poem extra so much, I love Zhuzhi Lang and Tianlang-Jun’s familial relationship a lot. The Airplane extras are also very near and dear to me as a moshang lover, but I love the bit specifically where Shang Qinghua runs away and Mobei-Jun tries to take him back and is actively making concessions to do so (carrying him, offering to make noodles) because

Overall, I think what I love most about MXTX books is how human the characters seem. Theres never a “good” or “bad” outcome necessarily. The Banyue arc is a good example in TGCF, or Wei Wuxian’s struggle to save the Wen prisoners in vain and tearing himself and his relationships apart in the process in MDZS. The gods in tgcf are more human than god, and the cultivators in mdzs and svsss are still flawed despite all their training and skills. Scum Villain is a bit different because it comments a lot of fandom culture and media consumption but ultimately its commenting about the READER instead of a character—still in a very human way.

Despite Shen Qingqiu's withering glare, Mobei Jun gathers Shang Qinghua up in his arms. 

"Oh my god," Shang Qinghua whispers, being lifted about like a small bag of potatoes. "Oh my god, is this really happening? Oh my god. This is so hot. How are you so strong? Your arm muscles are like big…big melons. Huge melons." He squeezes Mobei Jun's bicep through his robes with a look on his face like he's ascending directly to the heavenly realm in the arms of a busty babe. 

Mobei Jun is too busy fastidiously supporting the back of Shang Qinghua's neck to notice, holding him with affectionate resignation, like Shang Qinghua is a very small and slightly pathetic foster kitten who can't even hold his own head up. Shang Qinghua cups his palm over Mobei Jun's knuckles in open awe, tilting his head back to look him in the face. "Your hands are so big," he says dreamily. "My entire head fits in your hand. Like a cantaloupe. A honeydew melon. You could crush my skull like an egg! I can't even break an egg into the pan without it falling apart on me." He immediately looks crestfallen. "Wait. That's not hot…"

"It's fine," Mobei Jun reassures him hastily. "I will cook the egg for you."

"Yeah?" Shang Qinghua asks hopefully, looking heartened. 

Mobei Jun nods earnestly. Shen Qingqiu didn't know that Mobei Jun was capable of making such a besotted expression. He wishes desperately that he could return to that blissful state of ignorance. System! Shouldn't there be a limit on how OOC the key NPCs can get?

12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?

Oh yeah, absolutely! But I don't think it's a conventional outline per se. When I decide I'm gonna commit to a fic and flesh it out fully, I give it its own document and start filling it up in as much detail as I can manage lol. Usually by that point, I have several major scenes already established, so I fill in around those scenarios as needed (transition scenes, my beloathed). My 'outlines' usually end up being the entire story minus the parts I don't feel like writing at the time which have placeholders like //wake up or //reincarnated with a big empty space waiting accusingly behind it. Thus, these docs are extremely detailed and I basically don't deviate from them at all, I copy-paste directly from the doc into the AO3 editing mechanism when I'm ready to publish lol. I do usually end up adding a ton of stuff while editing for publication, but usually the shape of the story is set in stone by that point and the edits are just transitions that need to be elaborated upon.  

Things that haven't been given their own docs live smushed together in an ungainly superdoc as a loose arrangement of scenes in unrelated universes until they pick up enough headspace to move out of the superdoc and get their own house. 

50. How would you describe your writing style? 

Hmmm I never really know how to answer this because I feel like most of my stories derive from 1 particular scenario that I want to see play out and everything else is built up around that. I really like to Put That Guy in Scenarios. 

I don't focus on plot really, only as much as necessary to drive the story forward. Many ideas of mine have stalled because of this bc I was like wow! 👀 Cool scene!! Started drafting it, realized many many things had to happen to get to that point, and then gave up 🙃

I really enjoy setting the scene in overly descriptive detail and also focusing on emotions from a tight POV, trying to stay in-character as much as possible and also (essential) thinking of ways to make it funny.
