Former bkdk and anti used "Reading Comprehension".... It hurt itself in it's confusion. Hori should have realized that his young audience isn't bright enough to understand the story. The man shouldn't have to dumb down MHA for these people to understand it.
Get your head head out of your ass, learn proper reading comprehension and cut the crap. Statements like this come from a lack of education and bigotry.

Schools Lying To Parents = Damaged Children
Educators, particularly the activist set, seem to have forgotten that they are part of team when it comes to children. The child-parent-teacher team only works if there is transparency and a set of common values shared. Activist teachers and the systems that support them often destroy families, as is the case here. The ‘professionals’ involved should all be facing at minimum professional…

Hot take: Schools need to start failing students again. In recent years schools and teachers have been discouraged or even punished for failing students. Students who are technically failing are simply being passed from grade to grade without ever being given time to catch up.
When I taught 6th grade earlier this year, many, MANY of my students were several grades behind. It's actually easier to name the ones that WERE on grade level. All of them were being advanced into 7th grade, even though many of them were barely in 4th grade in terms of academic progress. And this wasn't just the school where I taught, it's all over the place.
So many students are so far behind that teachers simply cannot catch everyone up. There aren't enough teachers or hours in the school day to both catch up students to past grades and keep them on track of their current grade. They need to fail. Failing is the only thing that can catch them up.
There are students graduating high school right now who are still in middle school academically.
Failing students is harsh, but necessary. It gives them time to catch up academically which students desperately need right now.
How are these students expected to thrive in college, where failing is an option? Where there's nothing to stop them from failing?
#ironically failing might just be the one thing that can save them#education#ryan talks education#new tag alert!#school

harrows a sped kid but gideon is a girl who should by all accounts at LEAST have a 504 plan but all adults dismiss her as merely combative and disruptive, at Best theyll throw in a "not utilizing her potential to the fullest." multiple teachers have vaguely alluded to her having ODD rather than think for a second about why she might be acting like that
#hi hello i have Thoughts#sorry this is so usamerica specific i cannot do an hour of research for every spur of the moment thought that hits me#anyway i have many ideas about how the education system would fail these two spectacularly#the ODD thing is pulled from my actual experience and also just the fact that brown kids are more likely to be labeled that#rather than adhd/autistic/ect#and its basically a death sentence on your fucking record#its not an actual judgement of it as a diagnosis just how its weaponized against struggling kids cool we all on the same page?#feel free to add on if you have your own thoughts#i just think constantly about how characters in the book disregard gideon as stupid#because she doesnt give a shit specifically about their magic version of stem#LEAVE HER ALONE I BET SHED LOVE LIT CLASS GET HER ASS ANTIGONE SHED LOVE IT

yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason
side note this reply of someone going "umm just get loans and go into a high paying field it's easy XD" as a direct response to someone trying to explain how most americans joining the military are being funneled in that direction out of a need for money.
and another person who Decided that americans join the military just CLENCHING their teeth thinking of other people, and not thinking completely selfishly about their own selves and their own income/housing/healthcare.
#I had a longer post w more bullshit in it but ukw nobody's even gonna read THIS one. so.#dumb ass cunts seriously LMAO just the individualism of it all....#we're all just selectively forgetting that most people join the military straight out of high school / after failing to kickstart#their lives so they don't know shit yet and they are categorically not educated and don't have money#you NEED money and have been groomed by recruiters ALREADY into believing this is#The Best and Only to make a survivable amount of money without a college education-- bc they can't afford college btw#and they don't want to take on student debt either bc everyone already knows what a big fuckeroo that is#recruiters WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO JOIN. they will KEEP CALLING YOU. they'll answer your questions#to make it sound like this is going to be a GREAT life decision. you can get all KINDS of jobs (true)#they love to say the thing about how only about 15% of the military will actually see combat in any way#they love to list all the jobs where you will literally just be working at an office or a pharmacy or in tech etc etc etc#the recruiters are offering housing healthcare steady pay and BONUSES if you sign on for longer.#so you let your guard down because you were so scared of the actual fighting. BECAUSE YOU'RE 18 IN THIS SCENARIO BTW.#you cunts will not meet anyone who hates the military as much as people who are NOW DONE working in the military#you don't know enough when they get you and then either you stay placated by the benefits or you scramble away as fast as possible#the number one military haters are people who know what goes on bc they already did it#source: I LIVE NEXT TO A MILITARY BASE LMAO PEOPLE HATE IT HERE!! they are NORMAL PEOPLE#I need you to get it into your head that the people committing atrocities in war were NORMAL when they joined#and that for every person in the military who's actively shedding blood there's 20 who do PAPERWORK#and they both are being put in the same category by you!! and they are BOTH being controlled by the same system!!#sergle.txt#I hate yall I really do.

number #1 tactic that people use to not sound as racist as they are when they talk to black people: 'uhh so you AMERICANS need to stop pretending everything is about YOU. why should i know this im not from the us :/' (= is talking about like. a phenomenally internationally well-known black artist)
#myposts#kendrick lamar#drake#i updated it from 'white europeans' to 'people' because some people pointed out that 'gringo' is probably more south american lingo#but the point i wanted to make is like. there is this subset of european people (quite a lot of them)#who try to deflect by saying them not knowing these things isn't because of an active lack of disinterest in black culture and influences#and like. them not knowing who a certain black person is is never an educational failing on their side of any sorts#but instead are pretending that like. they are by virtue of being european always correctly educated on What History And Art Is Important#like. 2 months back that one post pretending that 'us europeans dont need to know all your AMERICAN writers 🙄' talking about james baldwin?#like just because that person didnt know who james baldwin was#they immediately were mad at the implication that They Didn't Know Someone Of Cultural Significance#and twisted it into 'well he cant be that important by virtue of me not knowing him'#like completely ignoring that the european school system also has. race problems and also ignoring that he lived and wrote in France too#but like. its this really racist defence mechanism of like. 'well you stupid americans always make everything about yourselves'#i hope i make sense i didnt think this would blow up lol#and like some people in the notes of that post were so smug about not knowing who Kendrick Lamar is#bc to them thats like 'oh im too cultured to be listening to rap of any sorts' like completely dismissing his music as kind of second class#by virtue of it being rap and black music and him not being in the White Mainstream as much as other musicians#(i mean hes still like 24th most listened artist worldwide but you get what i mean)

if anyone remembers approximately 2 weeks ago when i was actively giving up on a homework assignment well
half of the reason it was so hard was because i somehow managed to do the assignments out of order?
i got my grade back (a whopping 4/9) and the professor called my methods "extremely unorthodox" and i agree with her
#not a tag#from saph#educational fails are wonderful sometimes#and i am celebrating this one#reminder that i am not completing this degree im just finishing the semester cause i already paid for it#but even i wasnt it would do you all some good to laugh at your education fails#dont succumb to academic pressure have some fun#even if fun is crying over a coding assignment and giving up#double context: i graduated undergrad with several honors so im not dumb (tho this class is kind of proving that statement otherwise)

Bullying isn't a "normal part of growing up"
Bullying isn't a "normal part of growing up" if a child is being bullied physically that is a failure of the school to protect them and a failure to create a safe learning environment.
Psychological bullying is *equally* as serious but can be harder to identify. But if a child/teen comes home from school upset repeatedly. If they say they don't want to go to school. If they alter their behavior to avoid persecution this is also a failure.
This feels obvious and basic but I'm saying it anyway.
Bullying isn't just something that happens naturally and part of "kids being kids" We can have schools where bullying is very rare and taken seriously when it occurs.
Bullying occurs when members of a community decide that someone is not an equal member of the community and so they aren't due the respect that everyone else may have. Sometimes adults condone this, and participate. (Sometimes on some notion of "making them more normal" or "teaching them to not be a target") This should not occur. This need not occur. If the adults that run schools, and parents decide they will not tolerate it ... it need not happen.
Yes, yes. *sometimes* feeling like you don't fit in is a part of growing up.
*sometimes*
Somehow this reasonable level of discomfort that can lead to personal growth gets confused with being bullied. And people who resist the idea that no one really needs to be bullied. (It could just be a thing that didn't happen in schools on any significant level.) think we are saying the much less reasonable idea that everyone should always be happy and never have any social discomfort.

I
know that voting for the status quo sucks.
To say it "sucks" massively understates the exact amount of suffering that exists under the status quo, an amount that I acknowledge I am too privileged to ever fully grasp.
I cannot magically provide some viable third-party candidate just barely a month before the election. I cannot solve Israel/Palestine Conflict that has haunted the world for over 70 years. I am a 29-year old transgender woman working her way through her own mental illnesses, trauma, and an undergraduate degree. I was never going to be the one to solve anything here.
All I can tell you is that regardless of whether you vote or not, there will be a presidential election. It's going to be a shitshow, regardless. Whether you vote or not, there will be a different president in January. Voting for the status quo may not be directly in your interests.
We had four years of Trump and we are still trying to unfuck ourselves from that. The beginning of my antagonistic relationship with the government was protesting in the streets of DC under his administration. I've fled from the Metro PD. I've put on a change of clothes and slipped out the back door of a gay sports bar.
Fucking vote.
Fucking vote.
Fucking vote.
Honestly, I
I don't want to see this voter apathy shit anymore.
People are going to keep dying under any president. Any president can, and probably wil, be morally culpable for the deaths of innocent people, both in the country and abroad. Carter might be the last president we had that wasn't overtly a war criminal and we still had foreign civilians killed by U.S. military involvement under the Carter admin.
I'm torn between asking you to block me, or asking you to message me, if you're taking the route of voter apathy. I'll tell you right away, here and now, that I probably don't have a solution to whatever problem is keeping you from voting for Harris. I can't even solve my own problems right, tbh. The government isn't really here for me, either.
But there isn't going to be some sort of miraculous revolution that results in The Ending Where Everyone Lives. If there's a revolution, then supply chains will falter and children and the infirm will die of preventable diseases and infections and complications in hospitals that would have otherwise been able to easily deal with such things. That's what happens in a revolution. I'm after the long-term idea where Humanity as a species lives. I'm after the route where we don't have an ending, we keep going.
Fucking vote, because exactly one of the two leading presidential candidates believes climate change is real, and it is the single greatest threat to all life on earth. We have spent the past 250 years, not just playing God with the environment, but actively creating an ecological niche in which future generations of humanity must continue to play God with the environment, dragging it back to a healthy place drop by drop, inch by inch, a degree at a time.
Or, I mean, don't vote. Either way, we'll all die at some point. Perhaps some of us will be lucky enough to die standing by our principles.
Those lucky few will become soil one day, just like I will.
I am begging you on my hands and knees to fucking vote, though, because our options are The Status Quo vs. Worse. That's
That's it.
There is no door number three right now. Our system, our flawed and broken and imbalanced and unjust system, does not accommodate for a third door. Whether you vote or not, you will be dragged through either Door 1 or Door 2 with all of humanity, as we whirl through the cosmos upon our tiny little speck of dust. The only other legitimate option is to allow oneself to become trampled; to become soil early. I don't say legitimate to give this option legitimacy, but to make clear that again, there is no door three. Door three is a casket. A one-way bed.
I didn't vote in 2016, and I'm hoping that you'll vote for the status quo this time, because that's the route that gives me the best odds of having a long and healthy life to regret my failure through inaction.
Just please
Fucking vote.
Or again, if you're taking the apathy route, probably just save me the time of blocking you, because you're not going to magically pull a viable third-party candidate out of your pocket less than six weeks before the election.
#us politics#2024 elections#can you tell i just blocked someone over this?#maybe i should've spoken to them first#maybe i'm hormonal and barely able to deal with the swords hanging over my head or the coals beneath my feet#i've explored my options for fleeing the country if trump wins; and i'm not sure if i'd follow through#maybe i'd stay here and die for my principles#but at least i'll vote to TRY and avoid that#they burned magnus hirschfeld's books before any other jewish literature#it's already too late to save the late; all we can do is salvage the present#i have to wake up and study the effects of anthropogenic climate change in less than six hours#my morning will be spent looking for; and documenting; dead birds#i love birds#they're my favorite animal#after that; i have a class on grant writing; in which i am working on a project on non-profit local agriculture#then metaphysics; because philosophy is like the only treat i have left in my education#and finally; climate storytelling; in which i and 18 other undergrads are trying to figure out how to get people to care about the planet#and i gotta tell y'all; that last one is a bleak fucking time#fucking vote#forty fucking minutes of being pissed about this#i still have to write an essay on modal realism#and research this country's failings on water resource management for my class on the same on monday#long posts#probably incoherent posts#rambling notes#political rambling

Spotting AI Art
Okay, so in response to popular demand (one person) here's an example of me recognizing AI art.
First things first. Spotting AI is tricky and arguably easier for artists and anybody who regularly looks at art online. There are no fool-proof methods or rules for spotting AI, only indicators. And if the indicators add up, well, you might be dealing with machine-generated images.
First indicator: Rendering quality
"Rendering style" = The style of the linework, coloring, and shading, basically.
"Rendering quality" = How well the targeted rendering style was achieved. NOT something along the lines of "more complex rendering style = higher rendering quality". A semi-realistic painting and an anime screenshot can both have top-notch rendering quality while one is more difficult to achieve than the other.
Yes, unfortunately, that is an indicator. AI copies professional artists, not amateurs, hence it also copies primarily very aesthetically pleasing or professionally-looking styles. As a rule of thumb, AI art online will, at first glance, look professional rather than amateurish.
In this case, we've got a detailed piece of Sasuke Uchiha with intricate lineart, folds, and creases, and simple coloring. It's a sort of minimalist style but very well executed. In other words, the rendering quality is high and it might be worth taking a closer look.
Second indicator: Rendering style
There are some styles particularly known for getting fed to AI, including Studio Ghibli's as well as a certain brand of semi-realism. Here, neither of which is the case but there's something else I have personally come to associate with AI.
It's unnecessary or nonsensical details. I won't lie, those lines look pretty, but they just don't make sense. It's just random wiggly lines that are neither hatching nor actual folds or creases that don't make much sense in terms of shape or direction.
Third Indicator: Anatomy
Broken, fingers and toes, missing nails. Whatever other crap the AI decides to come up with. This doesn't need much of an explanation.
Also, misdirected folds and creases and objects that are clipping through one another.
All three of these mistakes happen because AI doesn't understand the anatomy of objects or basic logic (ie. objects don't randomly go through clothing).
Special indicator: Character design consistency
This one is very fanart-specific, as it relies on the existence of a well-established character design that has been put through alterations by the AI.
In Sasuke's case, the hilt of his Kusanagi doesn't match, he is wearing chain mail all of a sudden, his right sandal is closed on the top, the fabric around his hips has weird patterns that are not present in the actual design, the tie doesn't match its canon counterpart and the sword sheath is in Sasuke's front.
These are design details that could have been altered intentionally. However, in combination with all the other indicators, it is unlikely.
Fourth indicator: Pattern inconsistency and vagueness
AI, currently, has trouble with producing consistent patterns.
Here, the zipper on his shirt changes patterns, the wrapping on the sword hilt is completely inconsistent and Sasuke's Sharingan has no visible pattern whatsoever, just weird pixel artifacts.
#i have seen people reblogging ai art on accident a couple of times#please keep in mind that neither accidentally reblogging ai nor liking it is a moral failing#i know that we artists naturally despise ai but that shouldn't mean imposing our values on others rather than educating#should i make more of these?#ai spotting#anti ai art

Big reminder that your country is not immune to bigotry. I've seen so many people, for example, pretend like antisemitism doesn't exist in the USA because we were part of the allied forces in WWII (of course, they conveniently don't remember that we rejected jewish refugees when WWII broke out and we only really joined because Pearl Harbor was bombed, but I digress).
If you think your country is immune from antisemitism, racism (including anti-Indigenous racism), class issues, ableism, whatever else it may be, look deeper because you will find it.
#politics#antisemitism#antisemitism tw#i think if pearl harbor wasn't bombed we would have potentially never declared war#like yes it was better for us to have joined but realistically it wasn't to 'save the jews' like many USamericans think#we did NOT in fact 'save the jews' and we still have huge antisemitism problems ALONG WITH so /so/ much other shit#i can't understate that america isn't so far removed from the world that we just magically don't have problems#ANYway. tangent aside. it just.... annoys me whenever i see usamericans doing this#not because i think they're always malicious but it's a reminder that people aren't truly taught accurate us history#look if american history was taught to you in such a way you only felt warm fuzzy feelings you were FAILED...#...you were *failed* by an education system that was more interested in american exceptionalism than actual factual history#and i don't think america is the only culprit in national exceptionalism but i have the most experience as a usamerican#quick amendment that many jewish refugees were fleeing in the very beginning before war broke out *officially*#but we still rejected them sanctuary from nazi germany as a country (AND ofc america wasn't the only country to have done this!)
