One thing I wish I'd see more of among Ratio fans is some thought about how he views himself as a teacher.
Like yes, of course he refuses to compromise on the quality and rigor of the education he imparts, and he would find it unforgivably unethical to lower his standards in order to pass more students who had not genuinely learned the material. This is core to his character.
However, as someone who is a teacher IRL, I know the absolutely miserable feeling setting that kind of standard can cause. There's the obvious disheartening sense of disappointment ("Are students these days really not capable of doing the work correctly? Is our future in danger, if this is the highest level of understanding our current generation of students can achieve?"), but even worse than that is the self-doubt.
"Is this somehow my fault? Am I not teaching this material in the right ways for the students to learn? Is there something I could have done differently to get through to these students? Would a better teacher have a higher passing rate?"
We know that Ratio does (or at least did) struggle with feeling inferior to the Genius Society, so I think it is also likely, as much as he absolutely will not budge on his academic standards, that he has doubts about his teaching ability as well.
This is the man who wants to educate the entire world to cure the disease of ignorance, and yet only 3% of his actual students are able to get there. How can someone who gets so few of his direct students to a state of enlightenment hope to enlighten the whole universe? If so few students are successfully learning the material of a given class, doesn't that mean the teacher is doing something wrong?Would a better teacher--would a genius, maybe--not be able to impart their knowledge more efficiently and educate even the most challenging of students?
As someone constantly struggling with that balance between keeping academic standards high while also meeting the needs of today's students, I think the passing rates of his courses must affect Dr. Ratio much more deeply than I've seen fans discuss. I think he would question himself harshly over his class success rates, and I think he must be constantly trying to push himself to become the best teacher he possibly can be.
tl;dr: I hope one day the HSR fandom will stop sleeping on the fact that Ratio is an actual practicing professor who probably has astronomical levels of teacher angst. 😂

Tbh the whole 'bloodclan bans families and hates Cat God' thing really reminds me of the anti communist bullshit I was fed in highschool history class.
Every day I count my lucky stars that I got educated in a well-funded school in a blue state. My teachers were shockingly good in hindsight, I didn't get half of the same propaganda some of my friends in other states got.

Academic Comeback Icons:
While I love the classic study icons like Blair Waldorf, Elle Woods, Hermione Granger, Spencer Hastings, Rory Gilmore, Paris Geller, Devi Vishwakumar, Maeve Wiley, and Cristina Yang, let's not forget about the characters who haven't had a perfect 4.0 since preschool. I find characters who struggled but got themselves together and turned things around even more inspiring, and I hope you do, too! Please feel free to add on your own academic comeback examples. (Spoilers ahead).
Jeremy Gilbert (The Vampire Diaries): Jeremy suffers a debilitating personal loss and neglects schoolwork during the end of his freshman year and beginning of his sophomore, but then asks for extra credit and makes a fresh start.
Serena Van Der Woodson (Gossip Girl): Serena's grades and attendance suffer during her sophomore year, but she makes a comeback in her junior year and gets into Brown and Columbia!
Candance and Charlie (The Perks of Being a Wallflower): Candance's grades slip during her abusive relationship with Ponytail Derek, but she recovers and graduates as the salutatorian! Charlie repeats a grade due to non-attendance but goes on to do extra credit and make the most of high school academically and socially.
Hanna Marin (Pretty Little Liars): After barely studying for the SATs in season 2, Hanna sets a personal goal for herself in season 3 to expand her vocabulary and sticks to it. Jubilation!
Harry Potter: Though Harry struggles in some subjects, he recognizes his strengths and realizes that the best way to make sure you understand something is to teach it to someone else. Harry realizes his dream of being an auror despite challenges and helps others.
The Main Characters of Community: All of these characters are returning to school for various reasons and get back on track after some aspect of their lives not going according to plan. They find, well, community in their study group and help each other reach their goals.

Rahdue's Wheel is one of the few Tarot spreads that uses all the cards in the deck. It's very involved and can take about 3-4 hours to complete, especially the first time you attempt it.
Rahdue’s Wheel was first published in Tarot: Handbook for the Journeyman by Eileen Connolly, although she implied that it was around before then. This Tarot spread is meant to help the querent or client access past-life insight and inner wisdom. Connolly recommended Rahdue’s Wheel as an alternative to meditation for people who struggle with meditation.

Anyway, I decided this academic year I will try to chill out and (most likely) not sign up for my master (i.e., I won't bother to run out of breath in an attempt to conclude my degree by the required deadline to sign up for my masters in a.y. 24-25). Will most likely spend this upcoming semester following a course so I don't have to do the work all by myself (+ get to actually interact and know the professor's teaching style) and consistently work on my thesis. Apart from that I will attempt to dedicate myself to music + fully get into this volunteering association I'm in (which might imply some trips around/abroad + lots of activities)

Day Seventy-Seven
The student council's holiday spirit week ended with pajama day today, which I thought was totally brilliant since it meant I got to go to work in flannel PJ bottoms and a hoodie. I was so comfortable and warm!
I spent the morning spreading holiday cheer (and candy canes) throughout the building, and receiving cards and gifts from various students, which was super sweet. I also sent a holiday email to my department, had a good chat with Mrs. T, and did some planning for after vacation. So that was fun and also rather productive.
And then I did my teaching!
My Global Studies students finished up the projects they started yesterday, and all four sections were great. Attendance was high, students were engaged, there was learning happening- and we still had fun chatting about holiday plans and eating candy canes while they worked! My APGOV students and I went over their most recent tests- I explained anything they wanted me to- and then, as a preview for what's coming after break, I showed the Crash Course Government episode on political ideologies, and had everyone re-take Pew Research's political typology quiz. They'd done it on the first day of class, too, and some of their results had changed since then, which was fascinating to discuss.
All classes were about ten minutes shorter than usual, and we had no flex block, in order to make time for everyone to attend a holiday concert put on by our band, drumline, and chorus. It's the first time we've had a holiday concert since before Covid (there was one planned last year, but we ended up having a snow day), so it's great to have that back, and give students the chance to support each other's talents and passions.
All in all? It was a super positive day, and great way to head into the holiday season!
