killer looks up from his phone to see a neat-looking student standing at the door. he hears dust murmur derogatory words next to him, and he couldn't help but agree. standing there is cross, formerly of class 2-c but now moved in class 2-a like the traitor that he is.

nightmare, the class president, is nowhere to be found, so logically as the vice president it's killer's role to deal with this monochrome fashion disaster.

"yes, cross-chan?" killer moves to stand face-to-face with cross. "is there anything you want?"

cross has a light stern scowl on his face and crosses his arms over his chest. "color-san is not at the council meeting today, and the last person to see him is you. so i'm here to ask."

"okay, tantei-kun~" killer says sweetly with a hostile smile on his face. (a/n: tantei means detective) "what do you think i have anything to do with color-senpai's absence?"

"delta-san came to me with a knife injury."

"ah, i knew i should have killed the guy." damn horror.

"so it is you," cross sighs. "i should go to the student council to report this. but i'll give you a chance, killer-kun. release color-san from whatever basement you have in your house and i won't tell anyone about what happened."

"how about," killer grins, "we have a sword fight to settle this? if you win, i'll release color-senpai. and if i win, i'll get to kill you."

killer is brimming with fantasies of fighting off all prospective rivals in his battle for color-senpai's love. right now, he's seeing cross as one, which would make sense. cross is always with one of color's best friends, epic, so he must have a lot of access to color whenever he wants to.

"i'm not fighting someone who is in the kendo club," cross replies to killer's offer with an even heavier scowl.

"what? so you're saying all that sword learning from anime doesn't amount to anything?"

"how about a cooking contest?" dust says unexpectedly, appearing behind killer's back. he eyes cross up and down with an intense look that killer knows he means business.

"a... cooking contest?" cross asks, dumbfounded.

"i see you making bentos for others all the time, don't you?" dust sneers. "let's settle this with a cooking contest. i think the home ec club won't mind being the judge."

"yes! excellent idea!" killer exclaims. "and the winning prize stays the s-"

dust interjects again before killer can finish his sentence. "and the winner will go on a date with epic-senpai."

killer gasps, hand over his mouth. in fact, the whole classroom erupts in chaos over the declaration. dust-kun, the loner of the class, is in... love???

judging by cross' flushed face, he must be indignant about this. without much thinking, he replies steely, "deal. after school today, at the home ec club."

"sure," dust shrugs. and cross stomps away with a determined look in his eyes. after he's gone, killer turns to dust with an excited grin.

"dust-chan! when would you tell me you have an itty-bitty crushy on epic-senpai?!"

"none of your business, killer," dust scoffs, but then he gives killer a calculated look. "although... i would like to cash in that favor now..."

So my theory and predictions have always been along these lines:

But I have always thought Shapiro's trick is not just a poaching trick, as I explained in the meta above.

IMO it's also a trick rooted in professional jealousy and pettiness.

Walk with me here:

We were talking FF earlier with @only-one-brain-cell, and the trickster came up. Her angle was: "What if Shapiro was never going to talk to Carmy? What if he just said that to put Sydney’s mind at ease?"

Which makes total sense, right?

BUT

My point is:

What if it's worse than that, I mean on top of that the tricker was BLUFFING because he's a trickster!

I mean... What if he was never gonna hire her to begin with and he just wanted her to quit The Bear but there was no such partnership stake?

What if he just wanted to poach her but there was no such agreement?

He never sent her a contract for her to go over, which is a formality and common procedure in any business negotiations, especially if the offer is really juicy.

No hard copy.

Carmy drew the agreement and emailed it because his is actually a real and legit offer.

Maybe Shapiro just wanted Carmy to lose his most valuable asset.

And then ditch Syd, and hire someone else, maybe someone more experienced than a young chef who had been a CDC for only a month by then and had plenty of experience as a Soux Chef but no international experience and a failed catering business under her belt, regardless of how talented he knew she was, because he had already been to The Bear incognito, of course.

Perhaps Shapiro, strategically speaking, just wanted to make sure he was going to compete with the Sydless version of The Bear.

Stealing young talent is common in the biz but that stealing, which is what we all know as poaching, may not be always followed by a better and more solid offer, sometimes it's just about making sure the other restaurant loses its edge, not about hiring new talent, not necessarily.

Maybe Shapiro just wanted it to be Carmy vs him, EC vs EC.

Maybe he thought he could take him that way and beat it at his own game for once.

A Sydless Carmy may have looked less unbeatable in his eyes.

Why wait for her to talk to Carmy to make a formal offer? Wouldn’t it be more convincing/tempting to show up with the paperwork and the $ right up front? And only let her cash the first check in once she quits The Bear?

BECAUSE HE WAS FUCKING BLUFFING AND TRYING TO USE SYD TO GET TO CARMY BY POACHING HIS EDGE, HIS NEW SECRET WEAPON, THE PROMISING YOUNG TALENT THAT HAD EVERYTHING TO PROVE, CIA TRAINING, TALENT, AND NEW AND GREAT IDEAS, SOMEONE WHO HADN'T YET BEEN FULLY JADED BY THE INDUSTRY AND COULD ONLY GET BETTER.

Forget it! It was a trick!

I’ve been saying this since June 27, the guy is full of shit and professionally jealous of Carmy since they were staging together before he was sent to Copenhagen.

Unlike Luca who saw Carmy as an inspiration knowing he could never beat him, Shapiro saw him as competition and hated him because he couldn't beat him, Carmy went on to become the most excellent CDC... you know the drill...

Now, Carmy, Carmy never even saw Shapiro at all.

Which is what kills Shapiro and that's why he wants to take him down.

Because Carmy never even saw him as real competition so that'll show him!

And he smoked Luca.

But Luca doesn’t resent him for that.

Shapiro, on the other hand, is petty.

And Shapiro would have never achieved what he did so far if it wouldn’t have been for Chef Terry. She was the soul of ever. Not him, and he knows it, that's why he wants to start clean and doesn't wanna inherit anything from her.

He wants to open his own place like this because he has A LOT TO PROVE TO HIMSELF.

Unlike Carmy, who made it anywhere in his own merit, even under his iron fist:

That's yet another difference between Shapiro and Carmy and the trickster is aware of this and it kills him.

But my point is not that Carmy is better than the Trickster but that the reason why the Trickster wants to poach Syd OR MAKE HER THINK SO TO GET HER AWAY FROM CARMY AND BREAK THE WINNING UNBEATABLE TEAM, is exactly that, Shapiro is Shapiring and thus he's not to be trusted, that offer may not even exist, it's only a decoy for Syd to bite and leave Carmy high and dry so it's easier for him to take him down.

He must have seen them working together when he went to SPY with a bunch of friends and sent the reviewers in to try to fuck Carmy and picked up on this:

He doesn't want Syd and he certainly doesn't want to give her "whatever she wants". GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

OH apropos of not meme, just remembered this attempt at making an absurd ‘mundane’ AU that follows the canon storyline (no quirks, tho heteromorphs still exists):

AFO is a 60-year old hospital chairman in *excellent* shape, although recent brain tumor surgery did leave him blind. He is also co-author of some obscure sci-fi books in his youth, but he’s much more known for being an influential community leader… though his wikipedia page would have a looooong ‘controversies’ section.

All Might is a 58-year old local celebrity as a retired bodybuilder and actor, who now runs a local community service center. Also an influential community leader, with much higher public approval.

AFO and All Might have been at each other’s throat for years for various reasons, among them a long, drawn out custody battle over shared distant nephew Tomura. Tomura’s 20 years old now and a legal adult, but the feud lives on.

Meanwhile, Tomura has now grown up to be a lackluster truant college student with a penchant for stirring up trouble with his eclectic gang of friends he made from hanging out at an arcade and the dive bar next door (henceforth dubbed ‘the League’).

But the drama really starts when AFO and All Might get in a fight one night at a local high school charity event. Just really going at it. All Might threw the first punch, but All For One revealed his custom cane to have a hidden blade and was a bit too reckless with it.

So AFO is arrested; thanks to his lawyer, he avoids jail but only because the lawyer has been able to convince the courts that AFO is mildly senile. So he is entered into a nursing home. (I don’t know how courts work and I don’t care.)

Ujiko - AFO’s life partner, hospital’s chief medical director, and Tomura’s foster stepdad - takes this opportunity to cut off Tomura’s allowance to force Tomura to grow up a little (and to start attending his classes.)

This does not work. While trying to scrounge up cash, Tomura and his gang make enemies with the local shogi club (an open secret among everyone that it’s a front for growing weed). Conflict ends with a police raid and the League running over the club president/leader with a car. Don’t worry - Chisaki is alive, but both his arms are broken. Along with his spirit.

(Around this time, Kurogiri - AFO’s driver and Tomura’s old babysitter - is discovered to be a man with amnesia whose family has been looking for him for years, so he has to leave for a while.)

Hoping to instill some discipline in the boy, AFO’s friend and personal trainer Machia drags Tomura (and friends) on an extended mountain camping trip. During a hike, they become lost, end up trespassing on a cult intentional community’s property, and get hunted down (the intentional community is a survivalist group). However, Tomura’s newfound wilderness skills impress the survivalists leader so much that ReDestro decides to welcome them as guest fellow preppers. The League freeloads off them for the rest of winter.

Come early spring, Tomura wants to make good with Ujiko again, so he and everyone goes to a fundraising event Ujiko is hosting at the park…

…Unfortunately, someone messed up the scheduling, and booked a high school community service field trip at the same time and place. One thing leads to another and the day ends with:

several arrests and minor hospitalizations due to multiple brawls;

things set on fire;

one of the police chief’s sons exposed as an arsonist;

the park’s prized butterfly garden trampled beyond repair;

several people pushed into the lake and getting hypothermia;

the high school’s home ec teacher choked a local magician, who is hospitalized but for entirely different complications (accidentally stabbing himself);

Tomura’s friend Jin arrested after being tazed by a cop;

the intentional community banned from the park;

phone videos going viral;

high school students traumatized;

teachers under disciplinary review;

and Tomura sent to the emergency room for minor injuries and a concussion with overnight stay for observance.

Also Ujiko is now under investigation for embezzling charity funds for his and AFO’s side Neapolitan Mastiffs breeding business.

After being notified by his lawyer of the incident, AFO breaks out of the nursing home that night to kidnap Tomura from hospital and retreat to his beach house. His foster son is grounded. An American private tutor is also hired to force Tomura to make up his missed semester of classwork.

This now gives AFO the opportunity to spend some quality time getting to know Tomura’s awkwardly cute friend Spinner. For Spinner, this consists of guiding his friend’s 60-but-looks-40 blind foster dad who’s really into tactile communication, and having to read drafts of weird sci-fi because AFO has recently gotten back into writing. Meanwhile, AFO is making a dinner reservation for two at a beachside bistro.

Economy: KHU Standard

Before going any further, it should be clarified that the KHU Standard economic system is not the only one that exists within the KHU's territories, but is the only one that is mandated by the Seneschal Board. In short, this means that certain territories may issue their own currency and dictate their own economic norms, but that all affiliated entities are required to respect the KHU Standard

The KHU makes use of three primary currencies, each with their own system of established value: SIP, Vo, and Lira

While the average person rarely carried anything besides SIP, all were required to "own" some amount of Lira. Vo, on the other hand, was seen as more of an investment currency than normal legal tender (in spite of its official recognition in government exchanges)

Steelgoods Interests Piso [SIP]: SIP, more commonly referred to as pisos, are the most commonly issued currency in the Union. The value of SIP is fairly stable, as steelgoods (a euphemistic governmental term for unprocessed alloy plate) remain in more or less permanent demand. SIP is also notable for being the only currency issued in standard physical cash rather than being a digital marker, which has the handy side effect of ensuring that the average person can avoid the hefty transaction fees associated with the cashless currencies. SIP is available in note, coin, and digital format. While one piso can be subdivided into one hundred sentimo, physical currency is only issued for a half-piso. Though it's technically illegal, the presence of a dividing line across the centre of the half-piso has led to the practice of splitting the coin to create a fourth-piso in some territories.

Trade Voucher [Vo]: Vo, usually just referred to as vouchers, represent an investment in Callisto's trade with affiliated (but nominally non-puppet) colonies. Most currency-issuing client states maintained their own form of voucher, but these voucher currencies were all measured against the Vo proper, and so most were handily converted into it as a way of "cashing out" on financial investments in trade sectors. When the board cracked down on the minting of currency and corporate scrip by non-Seneschal entities, dissolving all forms of voucher, only those holding Vo were insured in SIP. all others were left at the mercy of the entity which issued their vouchers. Because of this, many populations were left without any financial power, leading to the collapse of several smaller governments and a handful of larger ones.

Federal Lira [Lira]: The Federal Lira is the currency in which all official debts are paid to the board and its associated governmental entities. Taxes, fees, bills, and anything similar are paid in the lira. While the exact value of the lira may seem to fluctuate, this is actually a side effect of the fluctuating values for currencies which may be converted into lira. Once another currency is converted to lira, the value of the holder's account towards paying government debts rarely fluctuates. While the highly restricted financial infrastructure of the lira makes it non-viable for daily use (lira cannot be converted back into other currencies, does not mint, and cannot be used for non-government debts), the usage of lira remains mandatory. For logistical reasons, groups are allowed to share accounts that pay towards agreed-upon debts. This sees frequent use in rural communities, where pisos are gathered to be converted into pools of lira, paying towards territorial taxes and other regular bills that would prove troublesome to pay every time they arrive.

By 103 EC, only the piso and lira remained in regular use. While some voucher currencies continued to exist within the KHU, these were relegated entirely to contractor stations and other demigovernments that were too large to be fully brought under the currency unification mandates.

oh no why would you ask me this!

i actually don't how much to say. i've had to inhale so much copium over the years to stay positive in fandom, because it's important to me, to be positive. as the guy whose catch-phrase has always been 'but on the bright side...' when yet another vii compilation dropped to take us yet another step further from what the og used to be... this... this might be my last straw.

i love his baby face, yes. i love his clothing and his sword with the materia slots. i love the visuals. i've loved every new visual for vii outside of og and probably will continue to do so, if not out of sheer force of will!

but i... hate that this now exists. and i could tell you about ten different reasons why, but it wouldn't be summarised as well as the trailer's own tagline - 'we still don't know sephiroth'. like. i just imagine a bunch of SE people sitting around a table brainstorming how to cash in on vii next, and someone chirps 'we still don't know sephiroth!' you get what i'm saying?

i have found things to love about everything i've hated about the compilations. i've made my peace with dirge of cerberus and the stupider parts of crisis core. i genuinely love remake! i do! and i was curious to see what they'd do with ever crisis if only because it might've incorporated before crisis, which i also love maybe only because we've been exposed to so very little of it.

and i couldn't tell you why exactly little seph in that beautiful trailer made me... despair, only that it did. and my greatest fear now would be that one day the folks that dreamed up that tagline would sit around again and go 'hey, we still don't know the jenova project!' that would probably end me.

listen, i haven't said anything so far because honestly, i hate being negative. and probably given enough time i can and will find a positive spin on this to concentrate on.

but right now i'm just not into it. i hope the people who are excited about it have a great time with it, but uh. i'm gonna sit out on this one for now.

Last Song Listened To: Johnny Cash's "Hurt". Because when I drove to work a car with "HU-RT"-license plate was in front of me and the song immediately stuck itself in my head.

Currently Reading: I'm taking a Warhammer-reading break and am currently reading "Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. @legiopraesagio recommended it to me and I am not disappointed. Such a great book.

Currently Watching: Just rewatching stuff. I don't have any concentration for new shows or movies at the moment. I try watching a german TV-series that's taking place in my neighbourhood, but I get way too upset about how unnecessary complicated routes they are taking.

Currently Obsessed With: Still Warhammer, but with less involvement into fandom. I feel I've read every "What cell phone plan would the Primarchs have"-post and seen every "The Primarchs as ice cream sandwiches"-pic. 😉 So - minipainting. I'm not much in drawing mood at the moment, but learning something new with each painted little guy is very satisfying. Currently working on two lorge bois.

That's a neat observation. Given how hell-bent Genesis appears to be on proving himself, it's a possibility. It's a vibe one gets: he talks about fame and being a hero in such a way that you suspect he's been ruminating on it for a long time, much longer than he knew Sephiroth in-person. I wouldn't be surprised if the phenomenon spread on a larger scale, considering that ShinRA ostensibly poured lots of resources into marketing Sephiroth and creating hype according to EC. At least a few people joined SOLDIER because they wanted to be heroes like Sephiroth; Cloud, among other things, joined in part for this reason. These folks had most likely already formed a mental image of Sephiroth based on whatever ShinRA's media fed them.

Then there's the case of Sephiroth's fan club, which is featured in Crisis Core and is chaired by Hojo himself, as the fandom theorizes. I'm guessing it wasn't just a weekly/monthly/periodic newsletter, but a full-fledged discussion board or a chat room as well. One thing that stood out to me was the mention of Sephiroth's ill-fated shampoo bottle. Not because of the cute sweet scent alluded to in the game, but because showering and haircare is a pretty intimate detail. From this vantage point, it's not dissimilar to celebrity leaks, with people picking it apart on social media. It's even more messed up knowing that it could have been either Hojo's initiative or ShinRA's top brass looking to milk cash from Sephiroth as a "brand". Ever Crisis just underscores that they pretty much treated him as a marketing tool or a product.

Please please help!!! my EA app for the sims 4 is broken and this is my last resort.

A couple days ago, I found myself wanting to play the sims as im sure all of us want to do every now and then and so I try to start up my game, but it needs to be updated, because of the new update. So i Update the game and it tells me its ready to launch, I go back to the EA app and The update button is still there. I try to update it again, but nothing happens it just has the user agreement pop up and I click it and nothing happened. I try for a few more minutes to try and get my game working but give up because its late and Im tired.

A few days later, I still want to play the sims, so I try again, but this time the app wont even open. I try a few different things like pulling out my save files to see if their corrupted, my moms, and the entire game out of the documents folder in finder as well as deleting and reinstalling the EA app but I cant get it to open. So I gave up again. no sims.

Today, I wanted to play the sims again and felt like trying again, so my friend and I get on the phone to try and figure out to do. I uninstall all the mods I have on my computer completely, I uninstall the app again, I clear the cashe and I finally get the app to open doing this.

The app even though we opened it was showing us nothing except a dark blue background, it wasnt showing anything up. I get the app to restart itself on the top bar, now I get it to give my the option to go offline and I request going back online and EAlauncher pops up, has me enter my password and it opens, showing me the full app, with my library and everything.(I don't have anything else in EA just the sims 4) but the app is still telling me I need to update my game. We try repairing the app, we try clearing the cashe AGAIN. The app wont let us update the game and It wont let me uninstall it in the app, and nothing seems to happen if I take it out of the EA app folder on finder.

At this point Im actually tweaking and I just want to play the sims. Im searching up everything online, and so is my friend. we get the following

1. restart the app and your computer

2. uninstall mods

3. check activity monitor - WE HAD NOT DONE THIS ONE YET

At this point Im scrambling to find a tutorial on how to do this because I don't know crap about tech, installing sims 4 mods is the peak of my ability. My friend who knows of crack websites is looking on installation, broken game, (and more) tutorials to see if anything from those help because apparently some of them do something to the games coding??? So we find one and it talks about error messages and my stupid ass realizes Ive been having a communication error with opening the sims since I got my new Mac but it hadn't effected anything till now.

the Error code I was getting, and the only thing that would pop up when I would try to open the app was EC: 10701 - Communication error, but it had stopped happening once I had deleted my mods, so I don't know if it has any effect anymore. At this point we've run out of things to try and the farthest we've gotten is the app opening again but I cant uninstall, repair, or update my game.

I go back online to try and find a help bot on the EA website or a phone number I can call but I cant find anything and the one thing they do have only allows "100 characters per question" to this stupid fucking robot who probably wont even connect me to a person if I tried.

Its been 2 hours at this point and I dont know what to do so my friend suggests posting a bunch of stuff on reddit/tumblr/twitter/etc to see if anyone can help because for some reason EA doesnt have a fucking help line when their app is completely broke.

Toriyama will make sure Tifa only gets trash male-inspired outfits for as long as he has any say in the matter, so time to face the music. The only reason he didn't give Celes to Aerith to continue pretending clerith is canon is because Terra is also the special magic girl uwu and that no doubt tickles him. Honestly, I'm shocked Tifa's Bahamut outfit was so good, but Nomura probably stepped in or something idk. Anyway, hope EC continues to flop and we can all move on from this trash game. I have no hope for part 3's marketing to honor Tifa's importance to the story of FF7, so thanks EC for reminding me to keep my expectations real low.

I really hope for the sake of people's own mental health that yall uninstall from this garbage. It doesn't make people happy, it shakes cash outta you like a bully holding you upside down by the ankles, and you deserve better.

The way people justify staying plugged into a game that's making them miserable comes off with very abused phrasing. Games are supposed to make you happy. Just because you spent "all this money" or think "Tifa looks good in anything" shouldn't overlook how anxious yall are before skins drop and how angry and upset you are after.

And the best way to protest against se isn't with angry emails, it's by denying them profit.

Im pissed about ever crisis again so here’s how I would’ve done it

1. The First SOLDIER is a full release game similar in style to Crisis Core with a chapter presentation and better writing using the cinematic models and no chibis (as much as i wanna squish chibiroth, i would not pay 40-50$ for graphics like that for the main game)

2) The battle royal The First SOLDIER (but under a different name. Something about the P0 SOLDIERs so its less confusing) is also in the game like how there was an online multiplayer in ffxv. It’ll most likely die in 6 months to a year but at least its not wiped from existence. (I actually really enjoyed the battle royal and was sad to see it nuked)

3) They gotta have their cash grab somehow so as paid DLC, you could buy full chibi remakes of og ffvii and crisis core that have something between the current ec combat system and the og combat system (but leaning more towards the og). Or, they use a subscription based model for them and have events and stuff similar to how ec is now minus the micro transactions. They could still do gacha but you get plenty of rewards to pull with from playing the chibi games and at the start of the month when the subscription is payed

Or, just do a full remake style game for The First Soldier and maybe, idk, use the content they made for chibi crisis core in the actual crisis core remaster so its a remake with more content instead.

Yess ofc I promise I am only teasing about the email. I actually feel like it’s unfair to Nomura and Nojima themselves that they worked on new designs and stories and Square is holding back for cash grab reasons like you said yk. At least we have new dffoo stuff coming soon though ig.

I think I'd enjoy events more if there were chapter updates that went along with them. Like the Halloween event was fun but apart from a brief lore confirmation, I didn't get much story gratification in October. November looks like it's shaping up to be much of the same.

But you're right. DFFOO at least is giving us SOMETHING. And speedily so. I wish EC could follow its example.

nothing like the heart to heart with your coworker to confirm that your job does in deed blowI know it's risky because people can turn on people for no reason blah blah blah but that was the final push I needed to accept the fact I need to find a new job but...

if I want to stay in the ece field I need a cda and I'm in the course and it's paid for by my job so I can't quit and find something new because if I quit before I have that qualification I'll probably have to work for another for profit center and last time I quit a for profit center 6 years ago I quit childcare all together because they had me fucked up

I like my job I like the kids I like teaching and being a positive influence in children's lives but I this job has got me fucked up I'm going to try working for a nonprofit center and see if that makes a difference

save cash for a new apartment (renting from a know slumlord turned out to be a bad idea)

possibly rehome cat (lots of apartments are not pet friendly)

new job and apartment by December 1st (moving and job hunting during carnival is something I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy)

Travel Blog - Lübeck & Travemünde (15.-17. December 2023)

Last little weekend vacation before the holidays. It was mainly a trip to attend the last concert for the year and we went on the plenty of christmas markets in Lübeck and briefly visited Travemünde on our way back on sunday.

Mainly some cozy traveling, some rants, lots of foods and impressions here.

Friday - 15. December

After avoiding the demonstration of the farmers against the newest political discourse we arrived in Lübeck, Mom had another figth with the navigation system as she was like "I knew the place" but in the end I basically had to tell her to FORGET what she think she knows and just trust me as navigator. We eventually arrived at our hotel.

In before I had a bit of a trouble with the booking process... we had booked another hotel but the service contacted me in June that we can't go there we had to change the hotel. It was a back and forth with the customer service as the callcenter agents can't access the e-mail customer service and vice versa and both sides tried to contact me and told me over and over again I have to change everything. As stuff was settled the old hotel contacted me a month later that I HAVE TO CHANGE THE HOTEL. It was super stressfull.

Well as we arrived Mom went in to check in as my anxious ass hates that and I needed to calm down after the little discourse about the route. Then she came and said "They don't accept me you have to as you booked the hotel", fine. We were able to check in but then... Mom's card was declined. First I thought it was just because it's her EC and not her CC. ... her EC got declined. Because she thought it was smart to keep her invalid one while she got a newer one (AND ALREADY USED THAT) and ... in the end I had to pay for the super expensive hotel she wanted as the old one got canceled OTL what a way to start the weekend. She luckily transfered me the money back but being her piggy bank for cash the whole weekend truly got on my nerves.

Anyways I needed comfort food, we headed out to Café Niederegger and enjoyed some cake, shopped a bit at their store and then went to the christmas markets.

Lübeck has several markets and while I am not a christmas person I somehow love the markets there, they have a certain vibe. The main market is in the historical centre, then you have a medieval themed one, some booths around the shopping district, a fairytale themed one, international, little elf houses, a martime one and one at the harbour along some more.

We also went to a few stores as I wanted to get some ornaments for my christmas tree as I want to decorate it rather traditional this time with more natural material, candy and just things that have a memorial value for me.

And I finally got my crepe filled with Kinderschokolade and the waffle as plate, I love that idea still. Here you can see the tiny elf village and the ferris wheel of the maritime market. Last year I took photos with Allen here but I decided against bringing Red along this day as I was quite done and didn't want to stress myself with doll photos.

We had dinner at a burger place (I had one with oat based patty, fig chutney and walnuts), we decided to have dinner at a restaurant for friday and then just snack on stuff the next one. It was quite dark as we went back. Oh and I had a chocolate covered apple for dessert as I somehow wanted something fresh but that was .. as fresh as it got. You can see my little haul from that day on the last photo.

Saturday - 16. December

The day started early for me, I'm an early bird. I went out for photos with Red, but was a bit miffed as this year they turned off the lights in the morning, the last years they still had them on for quite a while. I took a little walk with Red but the lightning was really awful... and I lost the reflector, went back the whole way, and back again and then finally found it.

I have to say Mom is truly not trying to compromise with some things, I was super hangry as she finally got up (I was awake for over 3 hours by then and usually I have breakfast 1 1/2 hours after I get up the LATEST), and pissed at the world and the overpriced buffet but it was food at least.

We then headed out again but the markets were still closed, we took a turn through the city to check some of the smaller streets and met a man who told us a bit about the street he lives in.

We went on a little shopping spree but the stores were badly ventilated I felt the overstimulation coming with a terrible headache, as Mom wanted to go into H&M I just told her 'nope' and waited outside.

Funny enough she said the store was super horrible and we continued to sightsee the other markets like the fairytale themed one and the handcrafter market (that one was inside a church and you had to pay a small fee), the stuff there was amazing but also super expensive, we didn't buy anything there but it was interesting to see.

Weirdly I still had a super hard headache going on .... until I noticed it was 12 already my body was like "hey gimme food", I'm so into my eating routine its horrible. Anyways I got a Baumstriezel with nuts, which resulted in Mom not wanting any as she was like "I want cinnamon&sugar!" but my brain was like "NUTS"... way to keep her off my food, lol.

As told in before Saturday was to be snack day and we had a lot of snacks while going back and forth the markets, we visited some other Marzipan stores and had some relax time at the hotel before fetching more food. And I got new tree ornaments at the tourists information store and my first ever Cinnamonroll! It was a gingerbread one and I am not sure if I like them, maybe a normal cinnamon roll will more my thing but I have to say it was .. too much cinnamon in the centre for me.

After cooling down a bit we got dinner-ish which was .. a lot. But as we walked around almost the whole day I felt I needed just more. And I got more, a flammkuchen (the toppings weren't much, so little mushrooms T_T), Mutzen (a fried pastry) and a falafel wrap. Back to the hotel we went for sitting down a bit before heading out for the concert.

To our surprise we ... walked into the christmas farmer's parade. It's not a usual thing here, and I researched it they do this for the children in the hospitals in Lübeck, to bring them something joyful during this time, I think that's really cute.

For the concert I can tell it was a blast, I had a super nice talk with some of the regulars there and the whole band was so thankful for everyone being there, it was like coming home. I just adore this band and I am glad I already have two tickets to see them next year again :)

Sunday 17 December

Sunday started early for me as well, but as I had little sleep after the concert and my left ear being half deaf I was really done for. Mom decided to sleep even longer, she had promised me to get to breakfast earlier but... it didn't happen. I went on a little walk to let the time pass and she was still asleep as I got back ... sigh. Took the time and took some pics of the stuff I bought the day prior.

I was quite pissed and even was miffed at everything in the hotel at this point, don't mess with me when I lack sleep and am hungry.

As we checked out we went to Travemünde where I took some photos with Nachti & Red.

Then we went onto the small christmas market there. It truly is just a small one but cute anways. Lunch was at the Café Niederegger where I had waffles and ice cream, I bought some more smoll things to bring with me for christmas and then we headed home. The drive back home was long but no happenings this time, that was .. nice for a change.

After dinner (I had Udon soup, noms) and unpacking a bit we went to see our local christmas parade. The parade was more a demonstration against... yep, the current political discourse. The whole thing was created during the pandemic to bring some light into the dark while everything was cancelled but now it all has a different meaning. The kids in the village enjoyed it though.

For me the trip was overall positive but I got an ear infection from not wearing a beanie on saturday (that's why my ear acted up) and I needed some time to regain. I'm working through my todolist but am trying to not to do everything at once. There is a lot I have to edit and put into the queue still, but I aim to have it all done soon that I can start on new things.
