#Repost @amee_rd with @get_repost ・・・ A lie diet culture sells us is that we can hate ourselves into loving ourselves. Being so "unhappy" with how we are now will only make us "motivated" to change. The truth is, if you are unhappy now, changing your body will most likely not make a difference to that. You will still be unhappy. If you can love yourself now, if you can treat yourself with respect, you can truly listen to your body and it will treat you kindly in return. . . Now, self-love is hard. Self-love doesn't always mean loving the way you look. It's like a relationship. You may not always love it, but you are willing and able to treat it with the respect it deserves. And you deserve respect. Always. . If you haven't checked out @virgietovar work, DO IT. You will never ever regret it. . #HAES #healthateverysize #intutiveeating #selflove #selfrespect #fatacceptance #eatingdisorder #treatyourselfwithrespect #youdeservelove #registereddietitian #nondietdietitian #antidietdietitian #virgietovarquote #eatingdisorderrecovery #eatingdisorderdietitian #fatdietitian #plussizerd @virgietovar https://www.instagram.com/p/BsgpObFDXDj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=z2h9llrxgx0c

#Repost @simplynutritionllc with @get_repost ・・・ Diet culture often tells us that if it is not painful, it’s not working. Exercise should be fun and invigorating, not painful and miserable. I loves me some @virgietovar so goood! Thanks for the share • @amee_rd What does our body size really have to do with our worth? Answer: nothing. We don't owe anyone any prettiness, thinness, whiteness or anything else. When we are fed a lie that we should all look a certain way - whatever that beauty standard du jour happens to be, we are being controlled. When we focus so much of our time and energy on the way we look, the way we are presented, the way we are perceived - we don't have a chance. We are consumed. "When I'm thin enough, I'll do this, I'll change this, then I'll make this difference in the world, go for this job, focus on this thing." It's a story I've heard, and said, countless times. Well, we don't owe anyone this. Ask yourself who is benefitting off of your obsession with looks. Who is profiting? Is it you? I doubt it. Let's recognizing that fatphobia is a form of systematic oppression. And let's fight back. (Note, this whole quote is: What we must realize is that it's not thinness that is being eroticized. What is being eroticized is the submission thinness represents in our culture. Thinness is a secondary characteristic. The true commodity is the willingness of women to acquiesce to cultural control. Controlling women's body size is about controlling women's lives. This claim to control is based on fantasies of masculine superiority bolstered by the culture. This control does not just apply to thinness." @virgietovar) . . . #HAES #healthateverysize #intuitiveeating #fatacceptance #fatliberation #bodypositivity #intuitiveeatingrd #fatpositiverd #edrd #haesrd #pnwdietitian #plussizerd #prospernutrition #bellinghamrd #losehatenotweight #riotsnotdiets #eatingdisorderdietitian #socialjustice #radicalselflove #feminism #antidiet #nondiet #allfoodsfit #edrecovery #weightinclusive #weightneutral #effyourbeautystandards #bodyacceptance https://www.instagram.com/diannebondyyoga/p/BuKOanzj2_2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vulg3qxh4t84

#Repost @amee_rd with @get_repost ・・・ This quote is from 'Hunger' by @roxanegay74 Our body can be the target of so much hate. Both from us and from the outside world. It can be a place where we felt unsafe, it can be at the intersection of many marginalized identities. It can be a thing that has brought us pain or has housed pain. It also kept you alive through everything. It kept you, as you. And we can grow. We can thrive. We can have more respect for ourselves than we ever thought possible. Another quote from this book is "Part of healing is taking care of your body and learning to how to have a humane relationship with your body." Our body deserves acknowledgement for keeping us alive. For protecting the part of us that wants to thrive now. And part of acknowledging your body is trusting it. How can you trust your body? How can you begin to heal? #Repost @haescoach (@get_repost) ・・・ Repost from @jennifermcgurkrdn - @ruby.tandoh this is an awesome quote about enjoying food, both from a physical and mental perspective! If we want a case study of the worlds longest lived and happiest people this is how they live. It's so fundamental to their existence, community, way of life and sense of being and it's something we can quickly benefit from in our own lives. . . #eatwithknowledge #haes #bodypositive #healthateverysize #healthyliving #bodypositivity #endED #allfoodsfit #edrecovery #balancednotclean #nourishnotpunish #eatingdisorderrecovery #eatingdisorderdietitian #HAESdietitian #RD #HAESRD #intuitiveeating #bodykindness #bopo #effyourbeautystandards #antidiet #selfcare #bodypeace #intuitiveeating #yourbodyyourbusines #ditchthediet #bluezones #mandurah #mandurahnutritionist
