My parents staged an intervention for me about getting high too much and I had to explain that I’ve never gotten high before.

Addict (Blitz x Reader)
12: Intervention
~~~~~~~~~
Two days after Ozzie's
"Blitz I finished your weird errands." You shut the company's door with your foot and sat the bags down on the meeting table. You noticed the serious looks on everyone's face.
"Uh..you guys okay?"
"How about you take a seat right there." Blitz pointed to the chair that was facing everyone. You cocked an eyebrow and sat down.
"What the fuck is going on? Am I getting fired?" You said in a snarky tone.
"No, this is an intervention." Blitz hesitantly said.
You stood up and deadpanned, "I'm not doing this."
"Y/n please," Blitz grabbed your arm so you won't leave, "M&M and Loona know about your addiction and we want to help."
"Since when did they know?" You narrowed your eyes.
"Uh..Remember spring break? With Verosika?" Moxxie started, "She mentioned how you two were in rehab. But we didn't know why."
"I asked you why you were in rehab and you told me." Loona was still on her phone.
"Remember when we got kidnapped and you, Blitz and I were high and he mentioned you being addicted to meth."
"And Ozzie's, you were on coke because Fizz broadcasted it." Millie joined in.
"And that party." Loona added.
"Oh fucking hell." You groaned. "Im clean now!"
"Y/n, Blitz had to give you narcan because you almost died." Loona crossed her arms. You went pale, scanning the room and sat down.
"Wait, when was this?" Millie looked up at Blitz.
"While you guys were at Ozzie's." He said with contempt.
"Two days ago?" Moxxie's jaw dropped.
"I thought you guys knew I was on drugs because of Fizz's loud mouth?"
"We didn't know you almost died." Moxxie said with disbelief.
You chewed the inside of your cheek. "Wait, who made this intervention?"
The three glanced at Blitz and then you. "I told you guys it has to be anonymous." He gritted his teeth.
"Blitz! What the fuck!" You stood up. "You could've talked to me in private!"
"I did! Multiple times but you didn't listen." He clenched his jaw, glossy eyes staring at you. "I figured if I did this then you'll listen to them and not just me."
You slowly sat back down. "I don't have anything much to say."
"To be honest I don't know what we're supposed to do in interventions." Blitz commented.
"Sir, you write a letter saying how her addiction impacts us. I already got mine." He pulled out a piece of paper.
"Oh shit we're supposed to write a letter?" Loona snickered.
"Moxxie, you don't have to write a letter, just say it out loud." Blitz looked up annoyed.
Moxxie slouched and put his letter back in his pocket.
"How the hell did it impact you three?" You pointed at Millie, Moxxie, and Loona.
Loona was the first to speak up, "I never saw Dad this distraught until two days ago. As much as he gets on my nerves it lowkey hurts. You didn't have to watch him give you fucking narcan. Dude was shaking and was on the verge of a breakdown."
Everyone, including  Blitz, was shocked at how vulnerable Loona got.
Millie and Moxxie looked at each other, then Millie spoke, "We care about you a lot, hon, and none of us want to see you suffer, especially die. You may not have impacted us the same way you had impacted Blitz and Loona, but we're still your friends."
You let out a shaky breath, "I know I affected you guys one way or another, but I kept my cool this entire time. You guys didn't even know I was on coke during spring break." You said with smug in your voice.
"That did explain a lot." M&M said. "But we still care about you." Millie reached out for your hand.
"I know. Okay? I know you guys care and I appreciate it. But I've been addicted since I was like 12. It's hard to break out of. I tried multiple times but being sober sucks. It fucked up my brain since I've been doing it for so long. You guys gotta be patient with me." You frowned, "I didn't ask to be like this."
"What made you do it?" Moxxie questioned with genuine.
"I was at the circus with Blitz-"
"Wait, WHAT?" The three said.
"You guys didn't know?" You laughed.
"You guys never talked about it. We knew that our boss was in it, but didn't mentioned you." Millie acknowledged.
"I was resentful, I didn't want to bring her up."
"It's understandable. But anyway, yeah we were at the circus-"
"That does explain a lot whenever Fizz said something about being coked up and left." Moxxie recalled.
"Oh my god stop interrupting me." You groaned, "When I was 10 my parents put me in the circus to get money, I was good at it, they wanted me to be better so they gave me a fuck ton of adderal to focus and give me strength and adrenaline. I either sucked or it stopped working, I forgot what happened because ya know, meth brain. Then they gave me coke at 14. I started to get addicted mentally and physically. Did it 24/7 yadda yadda yadda, got hooked on meth, blah blah blah, left the circus because Blitz and Fizz got mad at me for being addicted-"
"Because we cared-"
"No, because you kept telling me to quit and that I'm addicted but I didn't want to believe it so I left, days before the fire happened. Blitz kept calling me but I ignored him, annndd I think that's my lore." You forced an obviously fake smile before dropping it.
"Holy shit." Loona snickered, "And I thought my life was bad."
"Where were you whenever that happened? Whenever I tried calling you?" Blitz sat on the table.
You didn't want to remember the past, yet bring it up, "My dealers house. It was a crack house. I saw people overdose on H8, I saw orgys, was in an orgy that I don't want to talk about. Everyone was high all the time. One of the worst things that I've ever done."
Everyone stayed quiet. "This feels more like me telling my backstory than you guys telling me how my addiction affects you guys." You rolled your eyes. "Sorry for being a bitch, I just...wasn't expecting this."
"It's understandable hun, don't worry about it." Millie softy smiled. "We just really don't want you to fall back deeper than before."
"I know."
"Any more comments?" Blitz asked. Everyone shook their heads. "Y/n, any more comments?"
"Just wanted to say thanks for caring about me. And...I'll promise to try not to do stimulants. But if I give in just know that I'm trying, an addiction isn't easy."
"We know, don't sweat it." Moxxie reassured.
Loona's phone dinged, "Sorry if this ruins the mood but we have to kill the clients ex boyfriend soon or she'll get mad."
"Woohoo! I am in need to wack someone." You cheered. "Let's fucking go!"
#tw ed#obligatory MASSIVE do not do this#straight up poison that can kill you from one (1) time#used to be used to induce vomiting#directly the cause of death of karen carpenter and countless others#i wont i swear i wont#but i still researched it bc i was curious#tbh there are easier ways of poisoing oneself than semi illegal drugs#also if yall remember the post about a poison i own: i did more reseach and while that amount would probably kill me w no medical#intervention; it would take just under three times as much to be absolutely certain of hitting the toxic dose (calculated quantity per kg#of the top end of a given range. so it could kill me but if i was gonna go out that way id want about three times as much to be sure.)#honestly surprised ive never heard of any deaths from it. the most likely way to survive would be to throw it up i think#(or present to hospital and take charcoal or smth)#honestly though. my research says loss of consciousness and required intubation within half an hour in case studies#hence if you werent in reach of medical attention youd probably collapse an die#and i am very deliberately NOT mentioning what it is bc of how toxic it is#ive thought of combining it and another method to be absolutely sure but eh#honestly if it DIDNT work it sounds straight up embarrassing to admit to people tho thats one of the things stopping me#but literally a dose in a child requiring intubation and kid ended up in a coma recovered w no ill effects.#thats the dream yk. try and succeed and youre free; try and fail and you see no ill effects.#but yeah i wouldnt try w only the amount i have.#so im safe#....rereading the above. okay i might be a little mentally ill lol#but i am safe and absolutely nobody call the cops on me.#im fine.#tw suicide#puddleglum hours#nobody worry abt me ok. im fine.#just thinking silly lil thoughts like usual :)#EDIT: just occurred to me that using this poison could make it not look like a suicide
Career swap AU
Shiny is a big crime boss in Toontown. She's most renowned for the distribution of illegal substances and prostitution, but she is not above committing other crimes for the right price. She can very easily be cruel- she has to be to keep her power, but those within her inner circle know how playful and soft she can be. She's also known for having ~relations~ with whoever serves as her right hand. She had to 'fire' her latest confidant, and is on the lookout for someone new. Someone who has a good head on their shoulders, and could help out with paperwork (she does admit, that's not her biggest forte), but also has a heart that wouldn't cast her to the sharks the next chance they get... An added bonus would be if they were a cutie pie.
Poppy fell on hard times since Henry left her to Downtown. She wasn't so lucky to find a clean job here, but managed to find one in the entertainment industry... Even if it is a far different kind of entertainment she's not at all used to. She started out as just a pianist for the burlesque club, part of the band. But her boss has been trying to slowly integrate her in stage performances, knowing that she's too desperate to say no despite her stage fright. Right now, she can be seen as either a backup dancer, or will even have a sole singing performance. This has gained her quite a bit of unwanted attention, and Poppy has become far more wary of people now... The pretty weasel lady that comes in sometimes is nice though.
The weasels all still live together. However, they all managed to take a more lawful path. Smartass stayed in school and got his law degree. Greasy worked his way onto the radio and is constantly trying to convince his boss to let him play more risqué songs on his channel. Wheezy, after the war, started working as a dockworker carrying cargo to and from ships. Psycho always had an affinity with electricity and tinkering, and found a nice job with Toontowns electric company. Just be sure to keep an eye on him while he's in your house. And Stupid... It has been difficult for him to keep a steady job, but he does help around the house while the others are away. Someone's gotta take care of the place while everyone else is bust, right?
I kinda like this idea, though I'm not sure where I'm gonna go with it. So I'll just leave it here.
The thing about fireworks is that they eventually burn out. They don’t stay lit, they go in one big bang and then they’re done. And if Tachibana keeps going the way he is, he’s going to burn out just the same and take everyone who cares about him along with him.
In September 2022 the 'Intervention'
The intervention
Felt like an interrogation
It caused a reunification
Of my creation
It was a ramification
On the way I behaved
So I can't complain on
Where you placed blame
But was I mistaken
When you said things were blatant?
With cards on the table
I thought I was able
To name the worst,
To name the shameful
Things id seen
As the daughter who pleased?
The lies and trials
The blatant deceit
The anger and pain
It was too hard a feat
As I didn't expect your world's to collide
He said, she said
Your words against mine
mine were always powerless
Quiet at least
I spent that night rocking in my seat
I'm not going to lie
And say it wasn't needed,
An unwanted unification
But to what intention?
Because The intervention
Needless to mention
Was born out of seeds (-out?)
Of good intention
I required it not then
But way back when
The words you said would have helped me mend (then?)
I felt surrounded by hypocrites
Conspiring against me
With all of my short comings
Projected before me,
You made me feel risky,
To my siblings and my health,
The pain of hurting them
was worse than I've caused myself
But maybe I needed the shock
Like a new starting block
Instead I felt I got
the stick and the rock
They may break your bones
But words hurt you harder
And it's hard to take advice from
Your mother and father
When the evidence they have
Is from there own pasts
Please stop assuming I will walk the same path
And I see the need for the intervention
But it doesn't do justice,
when all that I mentioned
Has been explained,
Or just pushed away
It all felt like a controversy,
I know the lessons you were trying to teach me,
I wasn't as oblivious as you seem to believe
Do as I say, and not what I do,
You don't want me making the same mistakes as you
But I've made them now, you made them then,
But I've never had a child to defend,
And it's not an excuse or a play to pretend
I understood your need to defend
And I am grateful that you came to my aid
But did I deserve the price that I paid?
Because the date you came up,
As usual I cooked
Like the water in the pan
the heat soon rose up
First came the tears
Then words started gush
When she said I'd be the reason
you be locked back up
I've apologized then, and I'll apologize now
For the fear you had for your oldest child,
But I would be remis if I didn't admit
Your bids to help felt like a cespit
You finally came through,
for the child who needed you,
A situation I couldn't respond to.
I did not have the words,
the expression I seeked
For the years of secrets
For you both I would keep,
But it turns out you'd given yourselves
a free pass
In the two weeks you'd spoken
prior to the fact
Of the intervention
It felt like an infection
Got under my skin in so many directions
I'm thankful for your attempts at last
And you caught on when things got really bad
I guess what makes this sad
It's the child me who needed saving
By her mum and her dad
But I guess that's now through and through
I hold no blame or resentment to you
So do as I say, and not what I do,
You don't want me making the same mistakes as you
We've finally spoken just to protect you,
That in itself shows your love was true,
But I've made them now, you made them then,
back when I was the child to defend
Now I do as you say and not what you do,
I don't want to make the same mistakes as you.
the funny thing is that i don't think younger people - and i mean those under the age of 40 - really have a grasp on how many of today's issues can be tied back to a disastrous reagan policy:
war on drugs: reagan's aggressive escalation of the war on drugs was a catastrophic policy, primarily targeting minority communities and fueling mass incarceration. the crusade against drugs was more about controlling the Black, Latino and Native communities than addressing the actual problems of drug abuse, leading to a legacy of broken families and systemic racism within the criminal justice system.
deregulation and economic policies: reaganomics was an absolute disaster for the working class. reagan's policies of aggressive tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, and slashing social programs were nothing less than class warfare, deepening income inequality and entrenching corporate greed. these types of policies were a clear message that reagan's america was only for the wealthy elite and a loud "fuck you" to working americans.
environmental policies: despite his reputation being whitewashed thanks to the recovery of the ozone layer, reagan's environmental record was an unmitigated disaster. his administration gutted critical environmental protections and institutions like the EPA, turning a blind eye to pollution and corporate exploitation of natural resources. this blatant disregard for the planet was a clear sign of prioritizing short-term corporate profits over the future of the environment.
AIDS crisis: reagan's gross neglect of the aids crisis was nothing short of criminal and this doesn't even begin to touch on his wife's involvement. his administration's indifference to the plight of the lgbtq+ community during this devastating epidemic revealed a deep-seated bigotry and a complete failure of moral leadership.
mental health: reagan's dismantling of mental health institutions under the guise of 'reform' led directly to a surge in homelessness and a lack of support for those with mental health issues. his policies were cruel and inhumane and showed a personality-defining callous disregard for the most vulnerable in society.
labor and unions: reagan's attack on labor unions, exemplified by his handling of the patco strike, was a blatant assault on workers' rights. his actions emboldened corporations to suppress union activities, leading to a significant erosion of workers' power and rights in the workplace. he was colloquially known as "Ronnie the Union Buster Reagan"
foreign policy and military interventions: reagan's foreign policy, particularly in latin america, was imperialist and ruthless. his administration's support for dictatorships and right-wing death squads under the guise of fighting "communism" showed a complete disregard for human rights and self-determination of other nations.
public health: yes, reagan's agricultural policies actually facilitated the rise of high fructose corn syrup, once again prioritizing corporate profits over public health. this shift in the food industry has had lasting negative impacts on health, contributing to the obesity epidemic and other health issues.
privatization: reagan's push for privatization was a systematic dismantling of public services, transferring wealth and power to private corporations and further eroding the public's access to essential services.
education policies: his approach to education was more of an attack on public education than anything else, gutting funding and promoting policies that undermined equal access to quality education. this was, again, part of a broader agenda to maintain a status quo where the privileged remain in power.
this is just what i could come up with in a relatively short time and i did not even live under this man's presidency. the level at which ronald reagan has broken the united states truly can't be overstated.
The Case for Legalizing and Safely Producing All Drugs
A farmer gathers his crop’s production The argument for legalizing and safely producing all drugs is gaining traction, driven by a mix of public health and economic concerns. The current approach to drug policy has failed to stem the tide of overdose deaths, with over 600,000 people having lost their lives to acute drug overdoses. To put that in perspective, this is more than the combined combat…
