So, I found out the hard way that there's a limit to the number of things you can fuse together, but I made a dreidel! All I needed was one more to finish it, and two more to make it spin properly.

I got my first Israeli dreidel this year. It was included in some oil cups unexpectedly and for those curious what makes this special is the letter showing. Diaspora dreidel have a shin not a peh. This dreidel was made for use in Israel.

Games of chance were pretty normal in the ancient world. And the acrostic Ness Gadol Hayah Sham (a great miracle happened there) was certainly not the common marking of the time.

It is a gambling game however and despite the markings what spiritual lesson might come from it?

We all have days that feel like gifts, half days, shin and nun days that take from us, but we are not boxed in by them. We are connected to the spinner and whatever side today fell on it won’t always be like this. The miracle happened there/here.
