Tomorrow is Yule!! I didn’t want to wait so here yall go.

I always see Christmas art but I’d love to see the things I participate in and love portrayed as well 🫶

I included so many little traditions, like the Yule Log, and the Wish Cones adorned around it. There’s Cranberry Mule, Wassail, and even Caine and Bubble starring as The Yule Father (Jólfaðr) and Krampus :)

Tbh, the only one of her true feelings things that can be viewed in a somewhat positive light is her comment towards gangle.

Cuz having someone constantly put on a cherry veneer when you know that they don't feel happy can be annoying to plenty of people. Someone being fake can be annoying without your feelings about them being "I prefer you depressed."

Of course, that's the "glass half full" view of what she said. In her "drunk" state, she probably didn't think it through that much and genuinely meant she finds her annoying when she's chipper, but I like giving characters the benefit of the doubt. 😌

Ragatha covers up her true feelings with a veneer of positivity and acts like nothing bothers her for the sake of avoiding conflict. Not only is this a coping mechanism to prevent abstraction, but this doesn't actually have the intended effect on her relationships with others.

While she dotes on Gangle and sticks up for her against Jax's bullying, Gangle sees through it; she notes that while she means well, it's difficult to tell when Ragatha is being genuine or when she's just trying to make someone feel better. Tellingly, when Stupid Sauce removes her filter, she speaks the most openly about others. She explicitly states her dislike of Jax but doesn't want him to dislike her, derides Zooble as a grouch, and even calls Gangle annoying when she's wearing her comedy mask, practically saying she prefers her depressed. In trying to maintain a perpetual state of positivity, Ragatha's kindness comes off disingenuous and doesn't actually help those around her.

Oh, she’s definitely gonna regret saying all that once she sobers up.

The meaning of the scene with Gangle and the truck.

She leaves the restaurant, looks up at the night sky, takes off and throws her happy mask, smiles for the first time with her tragedy mask, skips around, pivots on the curb under the streetlight...and then trips backwards and falls right into an oncoming truck, only to be saved by Caine.

I've heard theories that say it was an honest accident that she tripped off the curb. That was my intentional reasoning too. That was she was legit caught up in the moment of true happiness/freedom from her mask and made a mistake.

I've heard others that say it was intentional and Gangle was legit trying to kill herself. I know the show covers dark topics, but...damn.

What do you think that scene was meant to represent?
