Congratulations to Out actor Karan Soni on the occasion of the release of his new movie - “A Nice Indian Boy”. It’s a genre-defying comedy about the nice Indian boy of the title, bringing a boyfriend home to meet his parents for the first time. Complicating matters is that his boyfriend is white. Any gay person who has parents will relate to the situation.
I’m most familiar with Soni for his small roles in comic book movie blockbusters (Dopinder in the Deadpool movies, and the voice of Pavitr Prabhakar in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).
What’s especially special about A Nice Indian Boy is that it’s directed by Soni’s real-life boyfriend, Roshan Sethi. The two have been together since 2018.

I started the blinging on my Wizard umbrella today. It is kind of hard to get a picture of reflecting light, so I may try to take some outdoors in sunlight. There are two shades of blues, plus silver and crystal, also in different sizes. There is an oval glitter piece at the start of the shooting star, but in the pic it blends into the surrounding fabric. There are no yellow rhinestones, so it is reflecting from somewhere.
I already glued down several shisha mirrors, but the glue for them needs 24 hours to cure, so I will start with the stitching around the shisha mirrors next. Still waiting for some sequins and more rhinestones to come in! A lot of this is totally freehand!
Thanks for following my progress! Still a long way to go!

I always remember that you got this big box - but it had like three candy cigarettes in it. Back when penny candy cost a penny.
