Daemon Targaryen x F!reader
Warnings: Incest/ P in V /infidelity/ Age-gap
Word count: 1k
~~~~~
The Iron Throne. It was coveted by all, from the lowliest knights to the highest born lords. Who sat down on the chair of swords was more than ruler. They were a protector, and to protect you must be strong. The late King Viserys was not strong in any sense of the word. He allowed leeches to squeeze through the cracks in his home and feed off of his blood and weakening reign. Allowed them to rip the Targaryen heritage and culture to install the gods of common men; symbols and emblems that would shame Aegon the Conquerer.
Though for all his treasonous faults there was a level of respect that had to be given to Otto Hightower for seizing every opportunity to propel his house forward. Whoring out his only daughter to the aged King in the interest of ruling behind a figurehead child of his own blood.
It was the perfect scheme, until Viserys named his daughter Rhaenrya as rightful heir of the 7 Kingdoms, a claim he steadfastly upheld even after the birth of male heirs.
How marvelous you'd believed it would be. Rhaenrya would have struck down structures that were In place to clip women's wings. Would have shown mercy when deserved and serve justice when necessary. The small folk would rejoice at her Queenship. She would intimidate the highlords of Westeros and rebellion would not be a known word. In your mind this was the Queen your lovely mother would be.
The Greens usurpation of the throne crumbled that dream. The hope of the great leader extinguished before your eyes. You watched for days as your mother reverted into someone you did not know. Frail and scared. It stirred something within you, that had not been there before. Took root deep within and fed off of your darkest desires. One that gave the promise of eternal glory.
The loss of a child could not be easy for certain. You yourself had not felt the grief you should have. No stirring of sadness or longing in your gut for your little brother. Not like Jace. It scared you as well as excited you. There was no weakness to be found and the prospect of an indestructible mind and heart was eagerly accepted by you. Aemond Targaryen's crime should have been answered swiftly and without mercy, alas all your mother could do was cry, losing herself to anguish. Get up! You wished to say, Focus!
Now was the time to strike show the false King and his court what true dragons were made of, fire and blood.
Control on your own treacherous thoughts were slipping, and left only the question, Could I be Queen of the 7 Kingdoms?
You would be one day anyway, as the firstborn, as the true born daughter of Laenor. What's the difference between then and now?
Your mother would have to die however, and you couldn't do that.
At least not alone.
Daemon was easy to convince, soul and heart already corrupt. You came to him like a dream unruly sliver hair and donned in a sheer iridescent nightgown. Whispers of greatness flowed from your pouty lips right into his ear. Face full of innocence and intention anything but.
You continued to spew your sweet poison as you rode him on the seat by the fire, the flames heating your already blazing skin.
He reached his peak with the thought of him as King with you by his side swollen with his babe. A conquerer in his own right.
Like your grandsire, you enjoyed sculpting the key parts of the realm, the only thing you shared with the frail man. Your most recent replica being the throne room. It's here in the safety of your chambers Daemon finds you fiddling with the chair you shall take soon.
He comes to stand behind you, his hands smoothing up the expanse of your arms pulling your back flush to his chest. Seasoned warrior that he is, his body is hard and unmoving compared to your soft pliant one, a perfect foot solider he will be.
Daemon nuzzles his head into your neck inhaling deeply "I have missed you". His time at Harrenhal left him craving your most willingly body. You're aware he views this situation much differently. Possibly believes that he has manipulated you, lead you down a dark path. A pure swan tainted so irreversibly. Not at all the still waiting dragon that you are. Ready to sink your teeth into his skin and drain him for all he's worth. You know he loves you or as close to love as he can feel. Do you return that sentiment is another issue because, of course not, he's your mother's husband, your step-father and uncle. You're strategic not vindictive.
Only your mother felt the need to be above Daemon and try her hand at triumph without him. He was a fool with a sword but that sword in his particular hand could bring down mountains. You needed him, for now. With your gentle guiding you had him believe your wants and ideas were his own.
You turn your head to meet his eyes. "No more than me" you sigh and lift your chin to claim his lips with your own. His hands tighten around you, trailing all around your body stopping here and there to grope you. Giving a pinch to your breast, a clutch around your neck. He pulls way to place his hand at the middle of your back giving a shove forward, you go easily. He flattens you over the table. He brings his hand from your back down to where the hem of your nightgown ends meets your exposed thigh. he bunches the material to your hips. Letting out a shudder at your lack of clothing underneath.
You hear from behind you the unlacing of his trousers, you keep your eyes trained on the figures ahead. The column, the banners, the throne. So small they could fit in the palm of your hand, but the longer you stare willing it to come to fruition the more the scene is happening before you. Your being enthroned and the highlords and ladies kneel before you, the small folk shout your name from outside the castle walls, you hardly feel the push in of Daemons cock in your own walls. You hear him grunt and groan behind you, rutting inside you wildly like a brute or the animal he is. He doesn't notice your lack of sounds to lost in his own pleasure, Daemons view of your backside hides your lack of lustful expression replaced with one of resolution one of assurance.
Your body is jostled up and down, Daemon's hand finds its way into your hair before trailing down to the back of your neck keeping you there while your eyes never falter from your soon to be rightful place.
The Iron Throne.
This is Dragons (1986 second edition, originally 1984), part of Mayfair’s Role Aids line for Dungeons & Dragons. I am sure its existence has nothing to do with Dragonlance, right? RIGHT? Oh, wait, no, there is a dragonlance right there on the cover. And “Dragonlord" is giving off some big “legally distinct from Dragon Highlord” energy. I dig the tie-in with Grenadier’s Dragonlords (which was what they renamed their D&D line after TSR dickishly pulled the license in order to fail at producing their own miniatures) and the dragon of the month club.
The sourcebook section is great. It takes a monster everyone loves but about which not a lot is definitively known, and just fleshes out all the details. This is the best book on D&D dragons until 3.5E’s Draconomicon. You have social structures, connections to the gods, detailed aging processes, diseases, physiology, parasites, pets, creatures that live in symbiosis, magic, specific plant and geological lore known by dragons. It’s shockingly exhaustive and there is still room for detail on setting, the dragonlord sub-class and three adventures. Solid art throughout, too — Dawn Wilson on the cover, Jeff Busch and Robin Wood inside.
I can’t help but read the adventures as a direct knock-off of Dragonlance. The first one incorporates “board game” elements, there’s a civil war, someone is using magic to coerce dragon support and the whole thing culminates in a temple. It’s just the broad strokes, but it makes me laugh that they got it done in one.
"People wouldn't have cared if Dany and Jon married as aunt and nephew. The Targaryeans did it for 300 years and no one complained."
Correction: The smallfolk were not allowed to complain because they were all under forced subjugation to a ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn people and cities alive. The highlords did not want to object because the Targaryeans were the ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn their enemies alive, and making your entire house an enemy to them was a death sentence. The faith litterly did object it, and were forced to sign the doctrine of exceptionalism which only granted it to the Targaryeans because they were the ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn alive those who opposed their blood purity practices.
As soon as they were gone, the entire realm returned back to seeing incest as an unforgivably disgusting sin and any children born from it were considered abominations to the point a brother and sister having children together in the highest orders of the royal family was the catalyst for kickstarting a multi year war which killed tens of thousands.
Literally the only person who wouldn't oppose that marriage would be Dany, because she was raised to think her families incest was normal and also knows she could force Jon to be loyal to her all powerful rule because she has atomic weapons with wings who does not hesitate to burn her enemies alive.
Also all of this is moot anyways, because just say you are against Northern Independence and get on with it. Because that's what marrying Dany would do, destroy Northern Independence since now if they step out of line ever again, Dany would burn Jon alive to scare the remaining Starks and Northeners not to step against her again.
Jon sacrificed everything to save his people, Dany did nothing and yall want to force Jon to give up literally every single freedom hes just acquired for the first time in his life.
Almost like the story is about how demanding people to bend the knee is the corrupting power which only ever breeds more corruption and dissent, and is a system of total control which is not good or sustainable.
It's almost like Dany doesn't actually want to break the wheel if it means she cannot be the one, all powerful Queen with her dragon nukes and is really just using Jon as hostage and a pawn against his will.
Also shes his aunt. Stop it.
Azalin Reviews: Darklord "The Baron"
Darklord: The Baron Domain: The Eyrie Domain Formation: All that can be determined is this Domain formed prior to 750 BC as Il Aluk is mentioned in an adventure associated with the Domain and Il Aluk becomes Necropolis in 750 BC during The Requiem. Power Level: 💀💀💀⚫⚫ Source: Dungeon Magazine Issue 58; 1996
There is very little history on the Darklord of the flying citadel Domain known as The Eyrie. Indeed, there is more information regarding The Eyrie’s former residence than the Darklord himself. At least the former resistant has a name even if he was only in the demiplanes of dread for a month before his flying castle was infiltrated.
Eyrie Keep was once located along a pass in the Khalkist Mountains on the continent of Ansalon on Krynn. It was originally inhabited by the Knights of Solamnia, the rigid knights of Krynn with strict moral codes (unless you’re Lord Soth). During the War of the Lance, the Keep was transformed into a flying citadel in hopes to defend itself and others from the aerial forces of Takhisis’s army. It may have extended their time on Krynn, but the flying citadel was no match for Takhsis’s dragons and it was eventually taken by the Dragon Highlord Kravon.
Kravon lost his red dragon mount earlier in the war and decided to make it everyone’s problem. He slaughtered and tortured his way through Ansalon until even his cruelest generals abandoned him. It’s unclear why they did so, perhaps Kravon was too focused on his personal vendetta than the will of his Goddess? Regardless, alone in his flying castle, Kravon was taken by the mists and transported to the demiplanes of dread forever bound to his the flying citadel, which roamed freely among the Domains of Dread.
Kravon was only a Darklord for one moon cycle, for, when a group of werebats discovered the castle their leader saw it as the perfect home for his kind. The werebats infiltrated the castle and when confronted by Kravon and told to bow before him and Takhisis, the leader of the werebats simply attacked the former Dragon Highlord and killed him. In doing so, the leader named himself The Baron of The Eyrie. Upon doing so, this self-proclaimed ‘baron’ became the Darklord of The Eyrie in Kravon’s place and as its Darklord, The Baron is completely contained within the walls of the flying castle.
Since he cannot leave The Eyrie, The Baron relies upon the werebats (Jerzi, Pyetr, and Liza) he created – and has absolute control over - to fetch his nightly meal of humanoid blood. The Baron despises that he must rely upon them for this and they, in turn, despise him for forces them to do so every night. Indeed, Liza plots to overthrow The Baron and utilize the citadel as a haven for werebats as a formidable fortress to launch raids from and subject humanoids to her will. The Baron, on the other hand, wishes to be free of his underlings but must rely upon them for his nightly meal.
The Eyrie itself isn’t very impressive, aside from the fact that it can fly, though one cannot control where it flies, only our Tormentors have that particular ability. It is inhabited by werebats, flying beasts (bats and birds), and the occasional harpy. On its base, giant spiders wove massive webs to catch flying creatures as the castle moves through the skies.
The Keep has a long history and one can find evidence of the former Knights of Solamnia or the Dragon Highlord that once lived there if they know what they’re looking for and at. It also has a rather unique mental imprint upon it where the castle has absorbed the memories and souls of those who have died within, which often manifests as the whispering of voice or an illusionary vision. Yet, it is not haunted and these manifestations cannot harm those who view them. At least, not physically. I’m certain that viewing a Dragon Highlord having a temper tantrum about their dead dragon leaves a permanent impression on one’s psyche.
The Baron is a werebat wizard who prefers spending time with his books over time with others as most wizard do. He can cast in both his human and hybrid forms, though not in his bat form…which, given the need most wizards need for gestures, words, and components, is unsurprising. As Darklord, he may summon an ‘aerial’ servant to come to his aid, can summon a flock of ravens or two hawks, and swarms of bats. Also, as most Darklords, The Baron can close the borders of his Domain by summoning high winds that surround the Eyrie, making it impossible for anyone to leave. He typically does this to prevent his prey from leaving.
It’s difficult to rate a Darklord with very little history, but given that he is a wizard and has a decent amount of control over his underlings, I will award him 3 skulls.
So I was reading into Dragonlance, one setting of dnd and I encountered a very remarkable red dragon in my opinion
Flamestrike, or aka Matafleur is an ancient red dragoness who fought in the Third Dragon War, after witnessing her entire offspring being killed by dragonlances, she retreated and disappeared from sights for centuries, until resurfacing to help the dragonarmies during the War of the Dragon Lance.
She was tasked to protect the fortress in Pax Tharkas, the new HQ of the dragonarmy. However, due to her aging and becoming senile, blind of one eye and lacking some self-care, she started to take care of the children under her watch as refugees came by and were used as slave labour by her lords.
Matafleur took care of them, referring to them as hers and actually tried to not cause any harm to them.
Later, as the adventurers come to free the slaves, she didn't attack them, as much as she wanted to, to do so would harm the children under her care, so she relutanctly let them go. Later Ember, a red dragon, mount of a dragon highlord come to take revenge upon the loss of the fortress, battling the adventurers.
In a outburst of rage upon hearing the dragon highlord would execute everyone, the children included, she attacked them, throwing the lord away and battling the stronger and mot fit Ember. She later threw him and herself at a mountain, causing the rocks to slide and kill them both.
-------------
You know, I love evil characters trying to be sweet, I think its my favorite trope, its the reason why I created Launairk, a big scary monster trying to be harmless to the defenseless beings around it, and so I immediately loved Matafleur, no matter how small her character was to the whole plot.
Aside being an opposite red dragon in many standards, as they are infamous for eating the young from other races.
A 100ft long (30 meters, for my based non imperials), she was freaking massive and I can only imagine her interactions with literally small children. I believe she would be a stern motherly figure, harsh and angry, but never dared to hurt them.
Probably also roasted some meat for them, near carbonized, its... Not the best thing to eat, but hey, would they refuse mommy's food? They wouldn't, yeah. 💀
I oughta do a character intro for some of my WoW kids. I decided to hell with lore savvy names I went with 'this is fitting or funny and I like it'.
Some of them include:
- Squeaky, blue dragon Drakthyr who perpetually hiccups.
- Flower, Tauren Druid who speaks to plants and is often shape shifted into a stump to avoid people.
- Fruit, (it does what it says on the tin) Nightborne Priest. Got into the job for the robes and that's it.
- Enigma, Forsaken Hunter who travels the world with her very fucked up dog Precious - rescued from ICC.
- Highlord, the Tauren Paladin. Yes his title is also Highlord. He got so tired of people calling him that instead of his name (which was/is Kutekh) that he legally changed it to Highlord. Just to mess with people.
- Gristle, Mag'har orc warlock. Nothing says irony like having most of your race be defined by avoiding demonic corruption only to DIVE HEAD FIRST BACK INTO THE FEL, WEE! Cannonball back into demonic nonsense because why not.
How would you write Aegon if you have the chance? You know making him a fleshed character and not just some plot device to give his mom and brother some character's development points. I like goofy Aegon (the only right thing that come out of his show portrayal) however I can't ignore that book!Aegon was always described as someone sullen, sulky and overall bitter😭
Young Aegon played by Ty Tennant was actually very entertaining and quite underrated in my opinion.
So I wouldn't erase that part of himself (basically being drunk, childish, irresponsible etc) just add more to him so he's not just that.
As you said, in the book he's sullen, bitter, and overall very envious of his half sister and nephews. I think the key in here is writing him with characters, making him active instead of a passive object the other characters act for.
Fixing the timeline is important but let's pretend we've done that already, I'd write him have interactions with his siblings, his mother and grandfather, and most importantly add a group of circle that he's in control of.
In the show you probably noticed neither Alicent nor Rhaenyra had any ladies in waiting or maids around them - which is insane if you think back to the worldbuilding rules asoiaf has. Similarly to Aegon (and eventually Aemond), they too would have a circle of "friends" to interact, build connections and entertain themselves with.
Personally i'd have them be sons of the council-men or highlords otto has pushed to benefit their agenda. Whether these "friendships" are genuine or not is another matter. But having the character interact with multiple people, changing sceneries from the court to some brothel to the training yard to the skies flying on a dragon can make all the small differences.
Another waste I thought about was how we never saw scheming behind the scenes or peasant people and what they think of the royal family. Public opinion is important and Aegon spending so much of his time in the brothels or in fighting rings would get him to witness what people whisper about the royal family.
So basically, have Aegon do things; whether it's getting drunk with highborn boys of his age, tormenting his sister, ignoring his mother, arguing with his brother. Anything can be used to show different sides of himself. You can see cruelty with his treatment of servants and his sister, arrogance with his interactions with his brother and grandfather, hurt and anger from his mother, bitterness and envy around Rhaenyra and his father.
Aegon might not be plotting like Alicent and Otto, or trying to prove himself like Aemond, but he's still a character. And while he's not an active antagonist before the war there are tons of things to have his character do.
Vitra the druid kobold
Vitra was born during the cataclysm in an underground tunnel near Aym, Solomnia, living undetected with her clan. They mostly kept to themselves, focused only on their expansion. She was born quite fragile then compared to the rest of her kin, but they loved her nonetheless and looked after her.
She had a curiosity for surface exploration and by the age of two she began to explore outside of the tunnels, looking for treasures and food that she could bring back to the nest. Her exploration took her to Fangoth, a town overrun by goblins. As she wondered the streets a young girl took notice of her and decided to introduce herself to Vitra as Valkrye, the little warrior thief.
Their friendship grew as the years went by and Vitra would visit the town often to build their wealth and hideout together, bringing in more little rouges to join their rally. One day however when she was 7 she drew the attention of an elf that was disguised in the town. He noticed Vitra using growth magic on a small patch of flowers, which she was going to bring to her friend. It turned out that Vitra had a natural talent for the druid arts, as if to make up for her frail then normal form.
He kidnapped her as she had left the town to return home and kept her in Wayfold, in hopes that he could help nurture her power. She fought him constantly and was distressed for years after, worrying constantly about her friends and family. She eventually accepted his tutelage but her hate for him never left. By age 20 she finally was able to escape him and return to her old home only to find nothing but ruins and death.
She grieved her losses only to remember her friend Valkyre who she prayed was still alive. When she arrived at Fangoth it was discovered that the goblins were defeated and that the humans had full reign in their town again. It made traversing the town far more difficult now that knights were roaming the roads, but to her dismay she could not find her friend.
Instead, she found a disguised draconian named Loge, who was surviving the town by gambling and theft. With no clan or friends to return to she chose to leave the town with the draconian and since then had been exploring Krynn to build her magic and their fortune as she wonders what happened to her dearest friend. It is now current day, a 34 year old Vitra now hears rumours of a Dragon highlord based near Balifor sending their troops to blockade between Micah and Trigol.
Might rewrite this like the last one but i'm happy with it for now. But yeah! My OC character is complete!
day 4 - favourite character
Tumblr media
Darion Mograine is the leader of the Four Horsemen and the former Highlord of the Knights of the Ebon Blade. The son of Alexandros Mograine, one of the Highlords of the Knights of the Silver Hand and the original wielder of the Ashbringer, Darion was a paladin of the Silver Hand, and later of the Argent Dawn. After his father was murdered by his brother Renault Mograine, he came into possession of the corrupted Ashbringer, and tried to save his father's souls inside. During the First Battle for Light's Hope, Darion used the sword to kill himself, destroying the Scourge forces and releasing his father's soul. Following the battle, the Archlich Kel'Thuzad raised him as an undead, while the Lich King made him the Highlord of Death Knights of Acherus and the ruler of Acherus: The Ebon Hold, once again wielding the corrupted Ashbringer. After defeating the Scarlet Crusade in the Scarlet Enclave, he and his fellow death knights broke free from the Lich King's control during the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel and founded the order of renegade death knights known as the Knights of the Ebon Blade. Under the leadership of Darion, the Ebon Blade spearheaded the attack against the Scourge alongside the Argent Crusade during the war against the Lich King, temporarily allied with them to form the Ashen Verdict and topple the Lich King.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore is the daughter of Daelin and Katherine Proudmoore, and sister of Derek and Tandred. She is considered one of the finest mages in all Azeroth and the most powerful human sorceress alive. She is the Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras, the former leader of the Kirin Tor of Dalaran, and of the port-city of Theramore. Trained as the personal agent of Archmage Antonidas, the late leader of the Kirin Tor and Dalaran, she was sent to investigate the plague of undeath with Prince Arthas Menethil, her childhood friend and one-time romantic interest. She witnessed the first stages of the fall of Lordaeron during the Third War firsthand and, guided by a mysterious prophet later revealed as Medivh, Jaina rallied what survivors she could find and fled across the sea to Kalimdor. There, her expedition forces joined together with the night elves and the New Horde and defeated the Burning Legion during the Battle of Mount Hyjal. The human survivors then founded the port city of Theramore, joining the Alliance led by Varian Wrynn, while maintaining peace with the Horde for several years. Shortly after the fall of Deathwing, the Horde led by Garrosh Hellscream destroyed Theramore. Jaina managed to escape with her life, but the experience transformed her, making her more bellicose and even altering her appearance. Following the death of Rhonin during the attack, and fulfilling a prophecy made by the dragon-mage Korialstrasz, Jaina took the fallen mage's place as leader of the Kirin Tor and head of the Council of Six. In spite of personal tragedies, she attempted to maintain the Kirin Tor's neutrality during the Alliance-Horde war. After the Horde-aligned Sunreavers aided Garrosh to steal the Divine Bell, Jaina exiled the Sunreavers from her city during the Purge of Dalaran and aligned the Kirin Tor with the Alliance. Following the Battle for the Broken Shore, the Council decided unanimously to re-admit the Horde into Dalaran for the greater good. Furious, Jaina left the Kirin Tor. Following the War of the Thorns, Jaina returned to her homeland of Kul Tiras in the name of the Alliance but was imprisoned for treason by her mother at the suggestion of Lady Priscilla Ashvane. After Ashvane's own betrayal was discovered, Jaina reconciled with her mother and brought the lost Kul Tiran fleet back home. Katherine stepped down as Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras and named Jaina in her stead, re-pledging their nation to the Alliance cause and to the Fourth War.
