My DRs

Hey guyss! I thought I'd make a post talking about my drs. A lot of them I haven't even scripted yet, I've just thought abt them in my head lol

My main DRs

Better CR: This DR is the one I focus more on, it's really special to me. I don't really know how exactly to describe it cos it's rlly similar to my cr. I'm just prettier, rich and have a better life tbh. Among other things.

Travelling circus: Honestly I have no idea where the idea for it came from but I love it. It's pretty much in the name but it's got some magical elements in it too. When we're moving locations the circus transforms into smth similar to Howl's moving castle, but bigger. I'm still planning on my own role, but I'm thinking of being a face painter and a cat performer :) this dr is still a work in progress.

Pokémon: I start out in the galar region and I follow the plot of Pokémon sword/shield. But with some differences, this isn't with hop it's with Leon, basically when it's his journey on becoming a champion. Hop is basically still a baby rn. I don't become champion, Leon does and I later on travel to the Kalos region and become an apprentice of professor sycamore's. Then after a bit I travel to the alola region. This is just the simplified version, there's a lot more details. My Pokémon team consists of - Blaziken (my partner pokemon), corviknight, luxray, sylveon, toucannon, primarina

Dragon academy: There's not much to say for this one, it's pretty self explanatory. It's just a boarding school quite similar to fourth wing (except safer). This one is mainly in my head, I need to work on its script (don't come at me)

Acnh: I love the game so much so obviously I have to shift there. My islands gonna look pretty much the same as the one in-game, it doesn't rlly have a theme but it's got a lot of greenery in it. The island in my dr is gonna be bigger tho. My villagers are - Octavian, marina, filbert, Alice, chai, merry, Sasha, Goldie, Ione and merengue.

And Kirin (a Japanese fae/shifter/yo-kai that's like a mix between a unicorn and a dragon) and his human gf that's a musician

Dragon Bound: Thea Harrison, Elder Races series

Found this when looking for books to read after the Psy-Changeling series.

Sexy, exciting, witty, and with main characters I can root for. This is everything I hoped Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunters books were. I love the heist at the beginning (she steals a penny from him, and he knows exactly which one🔥) and the tension between Pia’s fear for her life and the strong sexual energy between her and Dragos. I love how both of them are confused by what’s happening between them, and he’s a dragon, so his extreme possessiveness is a feature instead of just being creepy. The action is fun (goblin attack and the prison escape especially), and I like how she’s a very gentle person but is also very capable of standing up for herself and handles Dragos so well. Naturally he is a billionaire, because no romantic fantasy is complete without absolute financial independence, so we get some upper-class living porn too. Poor Rune just gets beat up by everybody in the mating fury, poor thing. Good thing he gets mated soon. Then it turns out she’s a unicorn (my first time reading about a unicorn shifter!), and the pregnancy angle is really interesting—and I like how she roped in some of the sentinels to help her and got them on her side.

Bottom line: A fun read! Satisfying, catches my interest. One I’d probably read again.

Here to ask you abt your ocs.

How did Shifter get his powers/abilities? Who's the merc he gets along with the most [personality wise] and complements the most [on the battlefield], if you had to choose?

And for your original universe ocs. What are they up to? Devious acts, I presume :3c?

I’ll answer these numerically just so it’s more organized, get ready for a long post yall!

1. How did Shifter get his powers/abilities?

Honestly, not even Shifter himself has a solid answer on that😅

As part of his backstory, when he was discovered by Mann Co. in his late teens, he was heavily experimented on, leaving his memory fragmented (and a bit traumatized). When they couldn’t find anything else useful about him, they shipped him off to fight in the gravel wars.

Due to this, he doesn’t really have any memory of where exactly his powers come from (or where he’s from, or his exact age, etc.), though through distant memories of his childhood, he guesses that he’s had his powers from birth! 

2. Who’s the merc he gets along with the most? (Personality wise)

I personally feel like he would be friends with Pyro, Demoman and Scout the most (with a little bit of Soldier and Sniper in the mix)!!

I feel that Demo and Shifter would be friends with a father/son (more like weird uncle/weirder nephew) dynamic going on! Shifter kinda sees Demo as his friend he can go to when conflicted, and Demo gives surprisingly good advice! Other than that, Shifter looks up to him for some reason hehe

Shifter and Pyro are definitely besties at first sight! Pyro was one of the first mercs to aproach Shifter when he arrived on base, all of the other mercs being too wary (or uninterested) to talk to the new hire. And because of Shifter’s sharp ears, they are able to understand Pyro pretty clear through the mask, so they just like to talk about whatever interests them :3

Because of Shifter’s ability to mix-and-match the animals he can turn into, he loves getting suggestions from Pyro of mythical creatures to turn into!! (Pyros favorites are dragons and unicorns, and Shifter loves to indulge them :3)

He can be quite mischievous when he wants to be, so he has no problem getting rowdy and indulging in some play-fighting with Scout!

Him and Scout are definitely friends, and though Scout had his reservations about the guy who looks just on the verge of non-human, as soon as Shifter discovered Scout’s love of challenges (especially when it comes to speed) Shifter became adamant on becoming friends with him! They also get into plenty of mischief together, with Scout’s favorite pastime picking on the other mercs, and Shifter’s love of chaos, trouble is bound to happen at some point!

They also both have a healthy fear of Medic (Shifter because of his time being experimented on by Mann co. (resulting in a fear of doctors/medical scientists), and Scout because who isn’t afraid of Medic)

3. Who’s the merc he compliments the most? (On the battlefield)

I feel like either Medic or Pyro would make an unstoppable force on the battlefield with him!!

Other than that, he already has a counterpart that works perfectly with his abilities (my other tf2 oc Comm (short for Communications))!!

You know what I found interesting about Nimona? In the comic, it was shown that the world had both magic and science in it to explain the otherwise weirdness thrown at our characters faces. Though to be fair, it isn't as if it showed there was magic but it highly hinted it.

"Oh you've concocted an antidote to cure all these sick people. You must be a wizard!"

"Actually I'm a scientist."

"So you're a fancy wizard."

But in the film, it's shown that there is no magic. No unicorns, goblins, dragons or even witches or wizards!

It's interesting that they switched it because that made the revelation of Nimona as a shape shifter even intriguing because no one had ever seen or heard one before.

If the world originally had magic such as magical creatures it would have made sense that everyone would be somewhat tolerable by the weirdness of this little girl who can turn into anything.

But because it didn't, this made everyone more fearful of Nimona because they couldn't understand her or the idea that she was simply different.

Chapter: 1

Races and World concept:

Race:

There were two human races in this world: full-fledged Humans and Shifters.

Shifters were part human and part animal—or even mythological creatures. They could show or hide their animal features, such as ears, tails, wings, and claws, and they could fully transform into their animal forms. These traits were passed down from their parents. Although ordinary Shifters were more common, there was always a chance that a child might not inherit the genes, especially if one of the parents was human.

Mythological Shifters, like Dragons, Griffins, Unicorns, Angels, and Demons, were considered extremely rare and even endangered. Most of them possessed special powers or abilities that set them apart from ordinary Shifters. The rarity of these creatures was due to their genes being extremely difficult to pass down to their offspring.

World: 

A long time ago, humans and Shifters lived in separate regions. Racism and human greed led to a race war 12 years ago in Neoterra City, resulting in many deaths. Over time, tensions cooled, and they began to mix and live together in the same regions. Although the world is much more stable now, the previous war caused so much damage that racism still persists.

Even though Shifters live among humans now, some still harbor stereotypes and despise each other. Humans mostly look down on Shifters for not being purely human. Mixed-race individuals are judged as a threat because humans always wanted to rule the world. There is a hint of jealousy, and some religions have been twisted to believe that shapeshifters were half-demons. Because of this, most Shifters tend to hide their animal features and powers to avoid being judged or mistreated, though some of them didn't care and chose not to disguise themselves.

However, the lack of use of their powers leads to an inability to reach their full potential or even control them. The more often they use their powers, the better their control over them becomes.

Hello, I just found your amazing Pegasus shifter artwork and I have a few questions. My first question, what is the shape-shifter's true forms are they human or something else. And how do their powers work?

Aaaa thank you so much!!!

They don't exactly have a form that is "truer" than the other, but different individuals will have preferences to what form they find most comfortable. (For example, Lars rarely uses his human form, Aris rarely uses her pegasus form, Javelin is pretty much always halfway between- wings and tail on human form)

Ancestral wise their species' started as talking animals that were "blessed" by the Stara and became Shifters like them. The animal forms became magical and they acquired the alternative human form, so you could say the animal one is the more true one? 🤔 Both are intrinsic and unique to the individual though. (True shapeshifters with no intrinsic form are a different creature in the world building hehe they're called changelings)

Most Shifters have no power beyond their fluid form. It's like a scale of two extremes, and they can pause Shifting anywhere between. The most common halfway point is going human form with traits from the animal form. (Wings, tail, teeth, eyes, etc) It's culturally taboo to have human traits on your animal form.

Dragons are an exception because they can breathe fire, so that is an extra power lol

The Stara (unicorns) have a vast variety of powers. They're kinda like demigods lol These powers they can give away in part or in whole to a willing recipient and is called a blessing! Blessings can pass down generationally, but will *usually* weaken with time. (Depends on the strength of the original blessing lol) A blessing can pretty much be anything.

Aravis and Faecorn (need to rename him lol) both have an inherited a blessing of Healing. Aravis' mother had a conditional blessing of protection. Javelin's blessing is in the physical manifestation of a magic sword lol
