Aris propaganda!

The last thing she can remember is her uncle's final request- to fulfill the mission he began and find Aravis, the supposed-dead Pegasian prince. Struggling under the effects of a memory curse of unknown origin, she will frequently forget she was even on a quest to begin with.

She's not sure how her uncle knew the prince is still alive, and why Dreganoth, lord of the dragons, wanted to stop him so badly. (She's got a pretty good guess though) Unfortunately, the assassins hired to end her uncle's life are now after her, and she doesn't have a clue what's going on half of the time. She keeps a journal to try and track her memories in between resets, but this is by no means an infallible system.

Eventually she finally meets someone else who believes the prince might still be alive- Galarius, the heir of the griffins and Aravis' childhood friend. They team up and become friends. :D

As the two of them get further along unraveling the mystery her uncle left behind, they become more and more sure the missing piece to finding the truth is hidden in Aris' hidden memories. She's pretty sure the memories aren't lost, only blocked, based on the dreams she keeps having.

She's pretty much always one step away from a panic attack, but she's trying so hard despite all this to be brave. She's too deep in to turn back, and too stubborn to give up.

Homecoming 💚

Galarius and Aris return to the Griffin palace, victorious in their quest to defeat Lord Dreganoth and rescue Prince Aravis. Eadra (Galarius' cousin and childhood friend of both the boys) can't believe Galarius was right all these years, Aravis really is okay and Galarius really did return alive and well.

Betrayed Perhaps - Part 4

The room was large with a high enough ceiling, she quickly realized she'd forgotten an important detail when the air split with the shriek of a swooping griffin. She lunged underneath a table just in time. Talons tore into the wood, ripping the polished mahogany apart as Aris scrambled away on all fours, ignoring her arm that screamed not to be used. She rolled away from the table and onto her feet, eyes wide, with splinters of wood caught in her clothes and hair. 

"You're trying to run?" The king said, standing erect and regal amongst the rubble. He shook his mane. "You have nowhere to go. Your master will not take you back after your failure here. Stay, and meet a more merciful end at my claws, Dragon scum."

"I am not a servant of the Dragon king," Aris said, taking a step backwards and balling her fists. "I spit in Dreganoth’s face and seek his destruction for what he has done to my people."

Gallagher laughed. "Is there no end to your lies? Your corpse shall hang from the outer wall alongside your fellow Pegasian traitors." 

He pounced again, and this time Aris dodged to the side. She miscalculated the distance however, and instead of rolling up to her feet she crashed into an upholstered chair.Gallagher slashed at her as Aris caught her legs in the chair and flung it towards the griffin's claws, slowing him long enough she could scramble to her feet. 

It was hopeless. Like a game of cat-and-mouse he was sure to catch her. The griffin was right, there was nowhere to run. And yet she ran. 

Gallagher roared over the splintered chair as Aris turned again to flee. If she could just get out of this room she might be able to find an open window, or a place to hide and lose him, or at least a weapon to defend herself with. She ran full sprint towards the double doors that led out to the main hall, but slid to an abrupt stop as the Griffin prince and several of his guards came through the doorway, weapons drawn.

Galarius looked quickly between Aris and his father as the king chuckled dangerously behind her back. 

"There, you see? You cannot run from your fate. Justice will come for the innocent blood that has been spilt."

"Father!" The prince cried in obvious alarm. "What is this madness?" 

"My son. Look at this spy I have found, sneaking in the shadows. You are in time to join me in its execution."

Aris looked the Prince in the eyes. "You gave me your word."

Hey! I just followed you and I keep seeing mentions of your original stories. Would you be willing to tell me a little bit about them? No pressure, of course, but I'm very interested!

I would be more than happy to!

Right now I've got two(ish) that I'm working on, one is a fantasy adventure surrounding a shapeshifter war. Lord Dreganoth, a champion among dragons, is no longer content ruling only his own kind. Dragons have always been the heroes of every war, but now they are the ones pillaging and burning. The Griffon kingdom is the last standing in opposition, and Crown Prince Galarius is desperate for a way to stop Dreganoth, but he possesses the soul of a Unicorn and is practically immortal. Aris has had magical amnesia since she was a child and has no idea who did this to her, or why Dreganoth so desperately wants her dead. She and Galarius have a feeling if they can break the curse, she might actually know how to stop him.

The other story is a collab with @masterfuldoodler set in the universe we've been working on together. It splits into several different stories. One follows the Keepers, immortal guardians of space and time battling against the wizard Tevlar, "Chaos" who has spent ages mutating the world into his own image. Ketsler is their leader, the second most powerful wizard. Skylar is a part-human medieval warrior with wind magic and a dragon companion named Gigi. Felix is a cyberpunk secret agent, and Betty is their "secretary". Haru, Ketsler's apprentice, occasionally joins them. August is the one mainly in charge of this story.

The other story set in this universe follows Joden, Jacer and Twylla. A world of anthropomorphic animals, you can read more worldbuilding here:

There's more to it now cause I wrote that months ago but you can get the general idea. XD Joden is separated from his wife and son, and realizes the only way they can ever safely be together again is if the forest is freed from the tyranny of the foxes. He teams up with Jacer, a young cheetah lord, and then Tracy, an ex-soldier who rebels at the cruelty of his fellow foxes. The two of them uncover a deeper threat to the forest then just the spreading fox empire and save not just their world but another world from the spread of Tevlar's dark magic. Twylla leads the raccoons to overthrow the foxes, and I've got a few ideas for that plotline that I'm working on cementing. 👀
