A not-so-in-depth explanation as to why Walk on the Ocean by Toad the Wet Sprocket is actually about Dr Stone

Yes they foresaw thirty years into the future that Dr Stone would exist idk how they did it I don't make the rules. Here's the song. Explanation below cut

"We spotted the ocean

At the head of the trail

Where are we going

So far away"

Okay so obviously this is the beginning of the series. Kind of vague but yk like Senku gets revived he revives Taiju and all that and he's like explaining his goals or whatever

"And somebody told me

That this is the place

Where everything's better

And everything's safe"

This is CLEARLY an allusion to Tsukasa explaining HIS goals to Senku. Like think about it. This is what Tsukasa thought about the stone world. Also "you two will never be in danger again" yk yk

"Walk on the ocean

Step on the stones

Flesh becomes water

Wood becomes bone"

This is a testament to how amazing Science™ is. "Walk on the ocean" is OBVIously a reference to the ship and Ryusui. Get it cause they're like walking on the ocean. But in a boat. This whole stanza is like a really poetic way of saying that science can make miracles happen. "Step on the stones" is especially important because they're using the STONES and the resources they get in the stone world (and also help from the ishigami villagers who are all named after stones and metals) to make advancements. Like stepping stones bringing them down a pathway

"Half an hour later

We packed up our things"

This is when they ran away from Tsukasa

"Said we'd send letters

And all of those little things

They knew we were lying

But they smiled just the same

Seemed they'd already

Forgotten we'd came"

This could be a reference to how Senku doesn't like all that sentimental stuff (lying about sending letters) and/or it could be about how Tsukasa knew later that Senku was alive but he still took care of Taiju and Yuzuriha knowing that they were traitors

Those last two lines are a play on how taiju and yuzuriha disappeared for a whole damn season

"Back at the homestead

Where the air makes you choke

And people don't know you

Trust is a joke"

Tsukasa empire during Stone Wars?

"Don't even have pictures

Just memories to hold

That grow sweeter each season

As we slowly grow old"

Obviously this is at the time before they had the camera.

After that part just cue the montage of everything happening. Suika seeing the sunflowers, chrome watching the sunset from the hot air balloon, tsukasa being frozen and revived, the Medusa, that scene where kohaku and ginro were petrified, the lightbulb, the magnet in the lightning storm, the telescope, hyoga fighting Moz, the record player, Lillian, yk yk yk
