Jazz sat in the couch, with Dani chewing on a snack bar provided by Clark, her once ginger hair that drooy with a growing line of purple flicking like fire at the end.

The silence was short as Clark spoke, tied up in a chair with his hand and legs tied to the arms and legs of the chair.

"What happened here, Jazz-?" Clark said, concerned as Jazz shush him, rocking the fussy baby.

She look up to him with dead looking eyes and caution written all over her face.

"The GIW is what happened a year ago when Mom and Dad accepted danny after he revealed himself to them about being a halfa on his birthday, they wanted to tell you the news, but the power was out for weeks for some reasons... The town was arming together once the word spread about danny to overthrown GIW, who was sponsored by the government as they were getting out of hands, cutting out electricity and other people driving in to delivery food and water or let anyone out of their own homes.

"But it was a set up the moment they left one day, some of the town folks tried to leave town to get help, only to find bloodblossomed covered steel fences and an anti-ghost forcefield cover the town. The GIW supposedly told the government and the Justice League that the whole Amity Park was contaimnented with a virus that can revive the dead after giving false evidence video that Tucker used to scared them off months ago.

They had it almost all wrong, but Almost everyone were contaminated with ectoplasm due to the portal being open so long in the town and being in the Ghost Zone for too long after the Pariah King incident that everyone was liminal. Nobody could touch the fence that they build all the way under the town thanks to the wreaked area before or get past the force field.. except Mom, who slipped out easily to get help, saying that you can help us because there was no way you would allow this to happen... but

Clark could feel his heart drop to what Jazzy said next.

.. they got to her before calling your number, spoting her at the wrong time, dragging her body away while they talked about examining her inside as if she were not human in their eyes..." Jazz said, her voice quieten a bit, rubbing her moisten eye with Dani patting her leg softly.

"Danny and Team Phantom thought that if they go through the portal, they could get to Vlad’s manor, but his portal inactive.., so we thought of the next best thing was to defend ourselves before they could kill everyone else, too.." Jazz explained a bit sniff a bit, her hair intensifying darker purple as she got emotional. Clark could hear her heart skipping a bit.

"Danny led everyone because Amity Park town wasn't going down without a fight the moment the GIW brought their own army to take everyone out, some of our good friends and former enemies didnt make it, Mr. Lancer, Star, Technu, Dad.. Danny went feral at the point that he was literally tearing them apart despite more kept coming into the town.. this has been going for 1 year and 8 months now.

There was no food by the time half a year went by that Frostbite offered, giving everyone some food from the ghost zone, though it had side effects. Everyone was too hungry to care about the side effects. It was better than eating one another..

Jazz laughed a bit bitterly to herself as she continued on.

"There was few remaining these scums sneaking around Town afterward when we nearly busted the Fence hard enough with their own vehicles that most of them retreat for now with the force field deactivate, but they got Danny real good with one of Dad's old invention a few months ago, but then most of us escape and spread out into hiding, the A team, phantom Team stayed to destroy the any evidence of Ghost info in the lab before we leave today..." Jazz finished explaining before looking up at her Uncle Clark, her eyes looking dull greenish blue after she put danny back in the baby sling, gripping the Glowing Green fenton bat covered in spikes and dried blood. Her eyes glowing redder then a ruby.

"Now I have only one question for you. Why did Justice League ignore our calls for help despite our numerous emergency calls."

I know the color palettes are user submitted, but do you have any standards for them or anything? Because some of these are ugly as hell.

the standards are in the template and format. i think 'ugly' palettes offer a lot of value in learning and experimentation. exercising your brain by working with unconventional color palettes or even just colors you don't normally use can be very helpful i think!

Is it just me or is there way less fanart being made for this game than the previous ones? Kind of makes me sad, I remember with dai I could check the tags every few hours and find something new weeks after launch, now I only can get away with only looking a few times and week and miss nothing.

I don't think that's Veilguard exclusive.

Things I and my mutuals draw now are getting less notes/reblogs than they did even one year ago, regardless of the fandom. Fanfiction is getting less comments and kudos on ao3 too (not that they were getting many comments in the first place) Less gifs are being made because gif makers weren't getting reblogs. Hell, most of the post I make have a huge discrepancy between likes and reblogs and add polls into that? A thousand people voted on something and only a dozen people reblog it. It's a hollowing feeling when you realise you're calling out to an empty void, I don't blame people for creating less art because of that.

I don't see a vast majority of the people who follow me in my notes because I have likes disabled. Multiple times someone has sent me an ask apologizing for spamming me with likes and I don't understand it? That is not a bad thing And unless you reblogged anything along the way, I didn't even realise you were doing it in the first place. And the people whose notes I do see are not annoying in the slightest, I love the tags you add and I'm sure the original poster does even more so

I'm not trying to shame anyone Into interacting with the fandom spaces they're in but the whole point of Tumblr and what makes it a blogging platform and not social media is that this is a show and tell website. You're supposed to look at something you think is cool and then wave it around for your followers to see and then they pick it up and do the same regardless of how old it is

When you reblog an ask game from someone it used to be common courtesy to send that person one of the asks from it. Folks used to leave comments analysing paragraphs from stories people wrote and theorising about what would happen next on every chapter. We used to send each other asks just asking about our ocs unprompted

If there's no interaction or community when you create something, then what's the point of creating it? It sucks that fandom is morphing into something to be consumed and thrown away the second it's more than a week old unless you're one of a handful of blogs that got lucky and picked up traction at just the right moment

I'm sorry for the rant but I get emotional when I think about the decay of fandom spaces for too long. And this goes without saying, but you guys can reblog anything on my dash if the button isn't disabled on it

What is the PR disaster in question that made Rick announce TSATS? I wasn’t active in the online fandom at that point

Of course! This was awhile ago so it figures people don't remember it/aren't familiar:

Basically a couple years back (2020) the fandom had some posts circulate discussing the ways different characters in the Riordanverse were written poorly or offensively. There was a masterpost that went around tumblr but the two major points people were particularly focusing on were Piper and Samirah (particularly because Piper had featured prominently again in Trials of Apollo recently and the third MCGA book had further emphasized and discussed Samirah being Muslim, since it was supposed to take place during Ramadan). Basically each had multiple posts breaking down the ways they were depicted incorrectly or offensively. The entire fandom for a little bit was VERY intensely discussing this (and it's around this time the "RR crit" tag got very popularized on tumblr - it did exist before, but suddenly was being used VERY frequently - cause it was that wide-spread - though the discussion took over basically every side of Riordaverse social media on different platforms). People really wanted Rick to respond to these criticisms, so he did!

He made two blog posts, one about Piper and one about Samirah. He has since deleted both so the links are to archived versions. The short version: he essentially tried to justify his poor research and double-down that he hadn't written them offensively, actually, people were just being mean to him. The fandom, of course, reacted poorly to this.

[Further elaborated events under the cut since this got a bit lengthy]

(Fun fact, this all happened within a month or so of the time i posted an open letter on aphobic tropes in the Riordanverse that Rick replied to, and then he immediately followed with announcing that Reyna was intended to be ace-coded [which cause a LOT of fandom debate] before Rick dipped for a couple of weeks, and then came back to post the blog posts in response to Piper and Sam stuff. So I like to jokingly refer to this as "The time I imploded the fandom/drove Rick off of twitter." Twas I that set the house ablaze.)

Rick fully left social media after this and the LT Musical social media manager became Rick's social media manager for the time being.

So this all happened June/July of 2020. Tower of Nero would end up being published in October of 2020 and a few months after that Rick would state that he was done with the series and wouldn't be writing any more series installments involving Percy, and also that he wouldn't be writing a Nico quest following Tower of Nero as it "wasn't his place to" and encouraged the community to write their own versions of Nico's story.

The community continued to circulate the tumblr posts and discuss the topics of Rick's offensive character depictions, and this is also where we see the dramatic shift in how the fandom depicts Piper in fanwork (though in most cases it is admittedly not an improvement 😬) because of all this discussion. This is also around the time when the fandom brought Viria under scrutiny claiming that she was whitewashing Piper as part of the same discussions, through the justification that she was drawing Annabeth as having tan skin (which she does canonically), and if Annabeth has tanner skin then Piper then that's whitewashing Piper? Except they were using completely separate images of not fully rendered Piper art versus Annabeth in dramatic lighting, so it's all very awkward and poor logic, and did actually get kind of racist. A lot of people were calling it "Tannabeth Blackchase" (yeah, i know) or similar and a common sentiment you'd see repeated is "Don't draw Annabeth as having darker skin than Piper, because that's offensive/racist/whitewashing." (Note: it was not phrased "don't draw Piper as having lighter skin than Annabeth" - we also won't get into certain offensive depictions of Native Americans, but I digress). But yeah, the Annabeth stuff in all that did not age well at all.

Anyways, in October of 2021 however Rick would announce that he was co-writing The Sun And The Star - with a lot of heavy emphasis on how Mark Oshiro works as a sensitivity reader, and some false advertising from the official social media that Mark Oshiro was the first time a non-Riordan author would be collaborating on the series (disregarding the ghostwriters completely). One of the big criticisms in the breaking down of issues in Rick's writing was his lack of ever seeking a sensitivity reader, and fans claiming that a sensitivity reader could solve a lot of the problems. This was basically Rick's "look! I totally listened!!!!" (though it did little to actually improve things, based on the book) and in TSATS as well Piper gets a large cameo at the end where the text very directly addresses a lot of points made in criticism of Rick's writing of her.

We also then of course got the CoTG trilogy later, explicitly stated to be for advertising purposes for the show.

So basically, short version: Rick came under scrutiny for a lot of offensive writing within the span of two months, made some bad blog posts doubling down about it, left social media. TOA ends. Rick says he wasn't going to continue the series/write what would become TSATS. Community celebrates the end of of the franchise but also continues to discuss Rick's poor writing and the blog posts at length. Rick suddenly announces TSATS and Mark Oshiro's involvement. Everybody gets distracted from being mad. Show announcement stuff also happens and the discussions peter out.

People...Stop telling me to ship wade/logan, so it fits the narrative you want me to draw.

You don't like nathan/wade? Well, too bad because I do. And I ship logan with scott, so picturing logan and wade romantically together feels terrible off to me haha!

I love my ships dearly and I hate when people force me to love new ships so they can hope to see my fanarts of them.

Shipping is personnal, it is something that need to come naturally to me and not all popular ships are a hit for me. I don't want anyone to force me enjoying something. That is not how I enjoy my fandom time. Forcing online strangers to like the same things as you is so childish.

And many many AMAZING artists draw wade/logan fanarts. Go cheer on them. Let them know how much you enjoy what they create and leave me alone!! I don't owe you anything. I just happen to enjoy drawing Scott Summers with a lot of lovers. That's it.

And just because you enjoy what I draw does NOT mean that I have to draw only things that you judge interesting.

I draw anything that I am inspired by. I DRAW FOR MYSELF FIRST. You are not the main character of my life. Stop being self-centred and being rude. And I am an adult, so ofc I am going to explore adult themes in my art. If you are too young or not comfortable for that, then do NOT follow me. Block me. My art is NOT meant for kids. My art is NOT meant for everyone.
