thinking about how everyone always says “he” or “she” when referring to their outies/innies. helly does it very often and mark does too when he’s outside as his innie. the times this is different is when devon starts to call him “you” going as far as to correct herself from saying “him” to saying “you” and when dylan is talking about having a kid and uses “i”. long story short when it’s someone they love that transcends the severance to connect both the outie and the innie with their family and the people they love.

I love how neferiously hugh laurie delivered his lines in that 5x1 scene where house is blackmailing wilson. because the dialogue could’ve been conveyed in a manner that was obviously facetious and unserious (like the way RSL was playing the scene: “You’d jeopardise a patient—? 😒🙄) but he literally chose to go “If it keeps you here😈👹” in the most deadass, diabolical tone. so the result is that we have house sounding like a genuine psychopath as he threatens to let a woman die and then wilson proving he’s an even BIGGER one by responding with, like, mild exasperation at best. 10/10 dynamic no notes

I think everyone’s subscribing to the “Helena Infiltration Theory” WAYY too quickly. I kinda feel like a lot of the oddities in the way she was acting could be chalked up to something else, and defaulting to “that’s not Helly” feels a lot like… I don’t know, like brushing off character flaws by saying, “No, [X] is possessed! That’s not actually them!”
I’d probably buy into it a bit more if she didn’t have that moment in the halls with Mark where she fervently said, “We’re not the same, actually. Us and the outies, we’re not.”
There are reasons why Helly would want to lie about her identity, and chief among them is the fact that she hates her outie—desperately wants to place distance between them, desperately wants to convince herself that the person she saw wasn’t her.
But there are compelling reasons for both angles, and I can’t say that I won’t be scanning future episodes for hints to either prove or disprove this, so… cheers, 🥂.

myung jaehyun is absolutely, hands down, the best leader for boynextdoor.
I always stand by the leader of groups being the best leaders for their groups, but it’s definitely a role that they have to grow into and improve constantly on. just like any other position in the group. just like any other thing you do.
that said, until the fanmeeting, I didn’t quite have the words to truly express why I feel so strongly about jaehyun’s role as the boynextdoor leader—especially as I think to a lot of non-onedoor, it can seem a bit confusing or not apparent at first. which mostly comes from jaehyun sitting outside the norm for a leader (particularly in hybe bgs) at least in personality.
jaehyun is loud. that’s like… something well known about him. he’s talkative and playful and despite being shy, he’s definitely the kind of person to enter the room knowing no one and leave with at least 5 new friends. his approach to people is one that feels very open and bright.
for this reason, I do think many people might not first associate him with the leader role. with most groups, the most energetic member is probably not the first considered as “oh yeah that’s the leader”. jaehyun is all the playful and energy-filled that usually comes with the member who the leader needs to keep an eye on the most and eventually has a bunch of youtube compilation videos.
that said, these qualities are exactly why I think he makes such a great leader for boynextdoor. as mentioned in the fanmeeting day 2 ending ments, the members of bonedo are the type of people to put up a straight face and keep their struggles to themselves. as woonhak and they have expressed, an example being woonhak putting on a smile and performing, despite dealing with grief. they’re very much the people to not make their problems someone else’s and to maintain a collected image in front of others.
while I also think jaehyun does this, as most people who are leaders may tend to for the sake of their groups, he’s also very very very unapologetically himself. he feels so much. his tendency to cry being a prime example of that, though not the only. the point is that jaehyun is expressive and open and in this, jaehyun contrasts with his members.
as woonhak has stated before, jaehyun has expressed that it’s okay for him to cry, to need to take a break, to sit this one out. jaehyun in general approaches his members with a lot of care. but overall, the stand out is that I believe jaehyun navigates along the lines of… feelings are meant to be felt. he has no qualms with any emotion being felt the way it occurs to us. yes there are ways to handle them, but ultimately, the feeling—whatever it may be—is there to be felt and expressed.
this is also seen in how he interacts with his members. in his very tactile approach to express the love and care he has for the rest of bonedo. the pride he feels for them. whatever words I’m not able to formulate to describe the whole yeppi exchange between him and sungho in the 3rd comeback show special.
it’s also in his loudness and energy. it’s all about expression. he’s so much, but it only feels that way, in my opinion, because he’s overwhelmingly unafraid and unapologetic of being himself, in a way that the industry might otherwise discourage. he’s not against expressing how he feels and while it likely won’t be the most apparent until later in their careers, I do think he’s the type to speak his mind.
all that said, the point is that these qualities do exist in contrast to his members and thus… encourage them to do the same. maybe not to be speeding around all over the place, but rather to allow themselves the space and time to feel as they do. that they don’t have to keep it all inside to avoid making it other peoples problems. they’re a team, if nothing else. and it’s in jaehyun being so so so much himself, being exactly the person he is, not something specially crafted to fit a particular image, he encourages the other members to be the same.
jaehyun helps to curate a safe space within their group by exhibiting that there’s nothing wrong with being the person they are. to feel whatever they feel. to express when things are going good or bad or somewhere in between. to approach things as they come and take them in stride, even if it’s without prior planning. that if a leader is meant to push a group forward and help them grow, then jaehyun steps up to the plate in that art cannot be made without emotion and so to become better artists, to continue being artists, it’s so important to find the safe spaces of being able to express and feel everything as they should be felt.
this is why I think jaehyun has some of the strongest lyricism currently in the group. it’s why I think he was a powerful force coming into KOZ and bonedo, and sort of the missing piece. he feels so much and he allows himself to feel all of it. in turn, as the leader, it’s something he encourages in the members. it’s leading by example. jaehyun builds a safe space for them to express, by being open himself.
but beyond that, jaehyun being unapologetically himself becomes an unstoppable sort of barrier between the group and outside the group. while not as apparent now, I do think it’ll grow into him being a strong adovcate for each of the members and the group as a whole. the group matters to him. his members matter to him. jaehyun’s never going to act as if they don’t, so long as they do. as such, he’ll put them first. he’ll encourage them and their best interest. he provides space and works to create and maintain that space for them to express themselves and be themselves. it’s what makes jaehyun the best leader for bonedo now, and it’s what will allow him to continue to do so.

So. updated theory after 1. rewatching some of Kenadian’s other videos and 2. seeing the but there was more video (thank you @brain-empty) I rewatched the last couple videos in the Omziscool saga, to try and figure out the lore, and oh boy did that help. Here’s my previous theory post, which does relate. (Oh, and here’s the timeline order playlist I made)
After Kenadian kills Omz in the hopper prison video, he gets the Omz mask. From the train escape, and an unlisted video in his lore playlist, it’s shown that he goes on a massive hopper rampage, destroying a large city before… something happens. He wakes up in a cell, with little memory, and the mask is gone with no explanation.
But Kenadian isn’t the only important character found in those videos. In the train escape, one of the guards, is Wato1876. Yes, seriously. It’s entirely possible that during Kenadian’s rampage, a guard or player- Wato- killed him and helped imprison him. And unknowingly, obtained the Omz mask in the process.
EDIT BECAUSE I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS: Wato does not have the mask on in the train escape video. This is either because it was an oversight and they didn’t think the lore would go this far, or I was completely wrong. I think it’s an oversight, as I don’t think they had plans to take it further until this april fool’s joke.
Here’s where I go completely into theory. I think that the Omz Mask takes the characteristics or some memories of the previous wearer. Kenadian would never go on a hopper rampage of his own volition- he hates hoppers. But Omziscool loves hoppers- they give him power. And it also makes the wearer lack great decision making skills, which Omz is notorious for not thinking through better options. So, once Kenadian gets the mask, he goes on a blind rampage, not thinking through any better solutions. So, then, what happens to Wato? Well, what would Kenadian do? He’d play the long game. He’d think through his options, and play his escape room long game.
That’s where Evil Wifies comes in. The two meet at some point, and he’s still Wato- he can still make good escape maps. And Evil Wifies, is, well, evil. Wato is a knowing participant- but only because of the mask. So, he creates these escape maps for Evil Wifies, until Evil Wifies gets a bit more power hungry- and decides he wants the Omz mask. This is all about power- he creates the clones to make content, for the viewers. It’s only a show if he can get people to watch it. And Evil Wifies is smart- he knows, surely, the mask has drawbacks. He can see them in Wato. So, he makes some sort of agreement that sounds fair, and using one of the smarter clones and slaying Wato for the Omz mask, Omz Mask Wifies is created. All this occurs during the later stages of development of the map made for the debunk. Omz Mask Wifies finishes off the map.
This explains the behavior of Omz Mask Wifies in the prologue- Wato built the escape room. But he can remember bits of it, just the mostly finished version that Wato remembers.
What happens to Wato? I’m not sure. Likely, he has very foggy memories of the entire thing, as seen in the epilogue. He likely stayed a bit longer with Evil Wifies, helping with the rest of the escape room. We can’t be sure what happens after that.
Now, the but there was more video. I honestly have no explanation for what Kenadian is doing there or how he finds it. But from what I can tell, it’s all of the rooms from Wifies’ previous escape maps put together, along with additional rooms in the same style. This takes place after the epilogue, and at some point in between the two videos, Omz Mask Wifies is killed. It’s the same skin- the Wifies body with the Wato ears, but there’s no mask. What happens to him now, we don’t know. Most likely, he was killed by Evil Wifies, but there’s no evidence to support that.
Here’s what I think the timeline is:
-Omziscool Fiasco
-Kenadian gets the mask after killing Omz
-Kenadian goes on a destructive rampage after getting possessed by the mask and is killed by Wato, who is a guard, and sent to prison.
-Train escape video
-Wato, who now has the mask, and Evil Wifies somehow meet, and Evil Wifies and Wato start working together, creating escape rooms for the Wifies clones.
-Evil Wifies and Wato create Omz Mask Wifies during the later stages of development for the last escape map.
-Prologue (Except the lore bits)
-Main two videos
-After Evil Wifies’ death in the trivia Omz Mask Wifies is sent into the escape room.
-Epilogue, and prologue lore bits
-Omz Mask Wifies is killed, losing the mask
-but there was more occurs
And, a quick summary of all the characters:
Kenadian: Gets the mask after killing Omz, goes on a rampage, is slain by Wato and then escapes from prison transport. At some point after the epilogue, he finds the massive structure of escape rooms
Wato: Is a prison guard before killing Kenadian after his destructive rampage and is a guard on the train as Kenadian escapes. Evil Wifies and Wato meet somehow, and strike some sort of agreement in which Wato is under his control. At some point in the design process for the escape room in the main videos, Omz Mask Wifies is created and, while no longer having the mask, likely helps finish off the map before he’s somehow found by Wifies and Kenadian and questioned in the epilogue.
The Wifies
Wifies: A clone, created by Evil Wifies. There’s not much more to him other than what happens in the main video.
Evil Wifies: ??? No idea who he is or what his lore is. He creates clones to solve escape rooms created by Wato for content. He works with Wato for almost all of the known lore, and creates Omz Mask Wifies to have full control over the Omz Mask. After dying in trivia, he sends Omz Mask Wifies through the map.
Omz Mask Wifies: Oh boy. Everything about this guy is my own speculation. Created by Evil Wifies and Wato for… something? Likely so Evil Wifies can control the Omz Mask without the other issues the Omz Mask causes. Is sent through the escape room after Evil Wifies is killed. At some point after this, he is killed, losing the mask.
Is all of this entirely speculation and probably wrong?
Absolutely. There are so many things I still have questions about. I’m fairly certain Omz Mask Wifies and Wato are two seperate characters (discussed in my previous post about this), but if that’s true, why does Wato say that he “remembers the sunrise. The escape room was already done”? Who killed Omz Mask Wifies? It was likely Evil Wifies, but why? How does Kenadian get to the place in ‘but there was more’, and why is he out in the middle of the void? What does the Omz Mask even do?
I’m still very confused.

denethor is said to have been greatly affected by finduilas’ death, right. and i know their marriage was a political one but i like to believe that they still loved each other. not in the ‘traditional sense’ i guess but they loved each other’s spirits, their souls. the duty (as they viewed it) to protect their people & the willpower to do it, they both shared. and so i think that more precious than love, they understood each other perfectly. as no one else could, or did. i can’t stop thinking about denethor’s grief at losing her. to love someone, and to have them understand you, but to lose them so abruptly… no wonder denethor became embittered by her death. i think he became sad too. closed-off. built even more walls around him, not wanting to be seen as vulnerable by anyone. but his anger, at what (or whom), exactly? he already broke up with god when he was young. at the universe? at his fate? to have lost her so unfairly.
i came here to talk about their love & somewhere in the middle lost myself in his grief lol. never mind, bc what is grief if not love persevering????? they loved each other. i can’t. i CAN’T get over this simple truth. the love was there. it wouldn’t have been this tragic if there’s wasn’t. the love was there. and isn’t that enough (it isn’t. but it is. IT IS). the love was there. THE LOVE WAS. THERE. sobbing. truly sobbing DON’T TOUCH ME

this scene is ruining my life at first I didn’t get it but now I get it and Aughdhyfhfheujfuejfjjfjfnv
#Kusuo learning from Akechi that competition can be fun and playful and not like. Torture.#And then learning that Kuusuke despite his shitty brother-isms is deep down seeking that exact thing#but just doesn’t know how to approach it#because of how their relationship functioned for years and how they both are#Like don’t get me wrong Kuusuke is uh. Not a good brother and his inferiority complex lead to him hating and mistreating his brother for#Many Years#And I don’t think this scene functions as forgiveness exactly (Kusuo still has resentment towards him in later arcs)#But I think it’s a moment where he realizes they’re both on some level really lonely people#Who have been fighting their whole lives#And being like “hey I don’t hate you. Let’s be friends instead of enemies.”#And Kuusukes response being “I should really be the one saying that to you”#I just. Like it’s a Start.#IDK like Kusuo was completely justified to hate his brother especially after something like the catgun arc#But he doesn’t and I think it’s because he realizes that his brother genuinely doesn’t hate him anymore#Their whole deal is just really interesting to me but idk how to phrase my thoughts on them coherently#The only thing I wish this arc had was Kuusuke having a “what did I do to you” moment but it is a comedy and we already got that from tori#so ynow#i just say he had that moment post meteor#does any of this make sense#Also it makes me so emo that he pictured akechi

i’m having such a hard time wrapping my mind around liam payne’s death. i didn’t like him as a person and i don’t think anyone whose discussed his abuse of maya henry should retract their statements or feel bad about them no matter how harsh they were because it’s important to talk about to prevent it from happening again. because of his history of abuse and grooming fans i can’t mourn him the way i would’ve ten years ago and any tears i do shed will be for his friends family maya henry and his other victims who shouldn’t feel bad and be made to feel bad by stans who put their faves over the protection and safety of women and girls. i don’t feel like it’s the place of people who didn’t know him personally (knew him through one direction etc) to tell other who didn’t know him because emotions have no morality and people’s feelings over a death shouldn’t be dictated underneath a urfaveisproblematic lens

no thoughts, just the way the narumi sisters are so different yet fundamentally similar at the same time yk?
#i love the functionally dysfunctional relationship of the narumi sisters to an unhealthy degree i think…#i’ve just been thinking about how both sisters put each other up on a high pedestal while having a less than high opinion of themselves and.#aaaaaaa just the way sena calls mona her angel while thinking of herself as a useless/subpar older sis#a n d how the main source of mona’s depression is her constant comparisons with her beloved big sis sena is just. aaaaa#just!!!! the way sena pushes herself past her limits in her attempts to portray herself as an ideal big sis for mona#even at the expense of her own health sometimes (see also: the beach sisters honeypre event)#i really feel like the way sena thinks she isn’t good enough of a big sis to mona is pretty glossed over for the most part tbh.. man.#(i have many thoughts on this tbh. none of them coherent)#and just. aaaaaaaaaaaa im really happy that both of them have great support systems (their families + [midori for sena]/[monacas for mona])#like. even though they don’t personally think they’re good enough compared to their ideals…#at least they have people who are there to love them for who they truly are. their true selves (honto no watashi) if you will—#idk i just wish both of them could see themselves exactly how their sister sees them…#b ut man i really want idol sengen season 2 just so that we may be able to see how sena reacts upon finding out what happens to the bracelet#i doubt they’ll show it in an mv but. man. i really want to know how she’ll react…#im probably misremembering and misinterpreting a bunch of stuff about sena huh… i miss her thoughhh#i miss seeing the sisters together tbh. i think the gen 3 sibling pairs should sing together a la tokyo [season] session style

I’ve been sitting with Spirit of Justice for awhile now, and I think I’ve finally come up with a concrete reason that it felt like it fell short, and that was because the messaging isn’t in line with the rest of the games.
Let me explain. Ace Attorney is, primarily, about family. The second case in the entire series is called Turnabout Sisters! And the game asks us, again and again, what does that mean? Who is your family? Is it your blood? Franziska and Miles are of no blood relation but she calls him Little Brother. Meanwhile, Dahlia is blood to Iris and Pearl and she completely rejects them outside of what they can do for her. The entire trilogy constantly asks, and answers, that your family is who you choose - even when they’re blood related, you still need to reaffirm and say yes, these are my people.
This idea is not unique to the original trilogy. Apollo Justice again asks us the same question. Does family mean blood? And it answers it right out of the gate, no. It doesn’t. Zak is not Trucy’s dad, Phoenix is. I know a lot of people don’t like the way it ends, but I would argue that it’s an important reiteration of the moral of the story: Apollo and Trucy sharing a mother doesn’t matter because they choose each other and build a relationship regardless.
Even Dual Destines somewhat visits this idea with Simon and Aura. There is a clear disconnect between them. Aura will openly say she does not care for Simon, and Simon makes his choices because he loves, cares, and wants to protect someone, but it’s not her. The fact that they share blood does not make their relationship important or strong.
And Spirit of Justice takes us… part of the way there. Dhurke and Apollo’s relationship is what you would expect. Apollo does not appear to feel anything towards his biological father, but Dhurke affirms himself as his father through his actions and his choices. And that’s where it ends.
Nahyuta is willing to literally die for Rayfa, because they are blood. That relationship is not expanded on at all. We do not otherwise see anything that would indicate an actual relationship between the two. We are expected to understand that they share parents, and therefore it is his duty to protect, preserve, and defend her. On the flip side, Apollo, the boy he grew up with and they call the same man father… Nothing. He never acknowledges Apollo as a brother. He rarely even acknowledges he has an actual name, rather than just whatever insult pops into his head.
As well, the idea in the people of Khura’in that the sins of the father stain the hands of the son. This is a very powerful idea - that has had several games denouncing. Franziska and Pearl are testaments to it. In fact, they didn’t seem to think that they really emphasized it enough and even in the Great Ace Attorney, they ask it again and they again affirm that no, a person can choose their own path and should be praised and punished for their own actions, and not those who came before. And yet in Spirit of Justice, it is not challenged in any meaningful way. Again, Nahyuta is willing to literally die before allowing Rayfa’s parentage to become public knowledge, because he knows what would happen to her.
In fact, Rayfa’s entire family is handled sloppily. Inga’s safe combination is her birthday, but you cannot look me in the eye and say the rest of his characterization makes sense as a man who would raise his enemy’s daughter. In fact, Dhurke doesn’t even seem to be aware of the fact that he has a daughter, he certainly never mentions her, even in his dying moments when he’s being killed by the man raising her. Contrast that to Turnabout Trump, when the biological and the adopted father face off and Phoenix literally attacks him in order to get the locket.
It just doesn’t make sense or add up in contrast to the rest of the games.
