regardless of how exactly you interpret ivan and till's relationship, two things are undeniably true:

ivan is the person who cares most about till till is the person who cares most about ivan

Thinking about how Ivan doesn’t seem to be teasing Till here. More of a, “Oh, yeah. That definition does fit you.”

Thinking about how genuinely sad and confused Ivan looks when Ivan punches him for this response, and walks away. The way that this wouldn’t be his reaction if provocation was his intention… and the way that, even still, his expression seems somewhat blank.

The way, in fact, that Ivan’s default expression as a child, in general, is a blank one. Even many of his smiles reading as not quite reaching his eyes.

The way he’s shown to study how to make himself smile, and make other expressions… (“Before Ivan goes to his morning class, he goes to the Anakt Garden Pond and carefully observes his own facial expressions. He usually doesn't show much emotion on his face, so it's very interesting to see him scrunch up his face or break into a smile like the other kids usually do.”)

… and how that leads perfectly into him, as an adult, having changed his default expression to that of a smile.

(Including when it’s not really appropriate for him to be grinning.) (Almost as if he still doesn’t quite grasp the social situations when he should smile. Just that he should smile more often.)

Ivan Alien Stage, I understand you so much.

okay, a couple things on alien stage/ivantill that I think some folks maybe need to consider and internalize.

Till does not "need" to return Ivan's feelings in the slightest if he doesn't feel that way. It's heart wrenching to see Ivan love him and have those feelings unreturned, but please remember that no one is required to return romantic feelings for someone else. You can't make yourself love someone, and you shouldn't. Especially out of guilt or obligation. That's Unhealthy 101, and would only set a relationship up for failure. (I do think Till cared about Ivan, and that he's going to have a Guilt Complex based on the fact that he didn't fully notice Ivan's feelings/care toward him until the guy died, but I've seen a couple of people tear into Till for not noticing/reciprocating Ivan's feelings??? Don't do that??? their situation is shitty, the fact that they didn't get to talk is shitty, but please don't blame Till for things he Can't Control.)

The kiss was not consensual. It wasn't meant to be portrayed as such. It wasn't even really romantic, it was a desperate, selfish act that Ivan used to get Till's attention (in more ways than one) and to give himself some sense of closure before he died. It was him saying everything that he felt at once, with no chance for Till to reciprocate or deny the affection. In a perfect world, they could have talked instead of this, maybe kissed knowing both wanted it, or given Till a chance to refuse. But they're both in the middle of an essential death tournament and one of them is going to be murdered sometime in the next few minutes. Neither of them really wants to live, but Ivan feels he has unfinished business before his sacrifice, so he finishes it. Their situation sucks. That doesn't mean the kiss was consensual. (especially considering the theory/implication that Till was/is being sexually assaulted by aliens, I wouldn't be surprised if this affects him badly in the future, for multiple reasons. Everyone should always get the chance to say "no" and have that fully respected. This also extends to the fact that Ivan died for Till without giving him a chance to stop it, which is probably going to mess with Till's head a lot. Then again, Ivan likely didn't think it would affect Till much because as far as he/we know, the feelings aren't reciprocated in this moment in canon, or are extremely repressed. Ivan might believe that Till simply hates him, or the kiss/subsequent "choking" may have been a way of trying to make Till hate him so that his death wouldn't hurt as much. Of course that thinking is flawed, because it would hurt Till no matter what, but still, it makes me sad)

Ivan... is kinda messed up. I adore him, but we've got to acknowledge that he has little to no emotional and relationship maturity due to the fact that he was quite literally raised as a pet and learned at a young age to do whatever his masters said to keep himself safe and pain-free. His fascination with Till appears to largely stem from Till's sense of rebellion. Ivan's examples of relationship dynamics and what constitutes as "love" is dangerously unbalanced, and he does not know how to build a healthy relationship. (Neither of them do.) This is also built onto the fact that the person he became dependent on only paid attention to him when they were fighting or Ivan was annoying him. Ivan cares about Till desperately, but he is also dangerously reliant on him to the point of self-detriment. Again, in an ideal world, they would be able to get out of this situation and gradually make a healthy relationship/friendship (depending on Till's feelings) over time while starting to undo the dangerous relationship patterns that they fell into when they didn't have any way to know better. But they're in a terrible situation, and Ivan really just doesn't get the chance to grow as a person and realize that his sense of possessiveness and reliance on Till's attention isn't healthy.

Basically, their situation makes me want to sob and its heart wrenching. Their circumstances have set them up for failure. Both of them are in the midst of attempting to survive an abusive situation and massive amounts of dehumanization. I beg, please try not to sanitize their complicated relationship or blame either of them for the pain the other is going through. I've seen some of that going around, and it's making me sad :(

I'd like to highlight Mabel the most, bc it also makes sense that Stan gets more attached to her, and later saves her from her death at the hospital (which means she'd be the one immune to the infection)

As for Dipper, he'd be most important for Part 2

Dipper could be the one figuring out that Stan broke the siblings' trust/promise, when he discovers that he lied about Mabel being useless to the cure of the infection

He'd also get revenge for Stan's death as well

Their relationship with their brothers is very similar, and I'm pretty darn sure that Ford would do the exact same thing that Tommy did when Joel died

Hello! thabk you for writing out tills perspective it was very good! And sad :( what does Till think once he finds Ivan gone? Does he know that Ivan is dead or does he think he’s just gone

and if he gets that Ivan won’t come back how does he mourn? I think it could be cool if till got into sculpting to make a statue of Ivan)

Also , I was wondering what if sua gave Ivan a little more time like 3 months or 3 years to get till to love him/kiss him so we could have more time of them loving eachother secretly. I specifically think Till keeping Ivan in the fancy rooms for longer is fun, because till can try out all the things he says he wants to do just long enough to miss them when Ivan is gone

I personally imagine till braiding and brushing Ivan’s hair quietly (because I love the mental visuals of Ivan with longer hair) and putting 1 thousand little sliver clips in his hair as one thing I find really interesting! Or maybe till collecting beautiful clothes to dress Ivan in and having enough time for Ivan to try them on but not enough time for him to receive them tailored (and I was also thinking maybe till considers proposing to him, or at least asking him to be a concubine if that’s not allowed but he doesn’t get the chance to give the ring- just enough time to have one made)

guys i can't believe i did a bad ending ngl i think i'm un-canonizing the bad end for a happy one and the bad end can stay a thought unreleased to the world.

i was thinking of having ivan be there for a month, but that's a kind of long time not to sort through feelings... so a week it was. ivan was practically bed-ridden and spent a lot of time asleep, so till would sneak in and brush and braid his hair and decorate him up. and, well, a lifetime of yearning for something, getting a taste of it, and then forever losing it...guys i'm sick why did i do that?!

happy ending time or i'm beating past me up (im making them eighteen its kinda weird otherwise)

the gentle feeling of his hair shifting along like waves in the ocean woke him up. the moon peaked in through the window, spilling its light across the room. the mirror reflected ivan, who was sitting and leaning on another.

the haziness of the entire situation felt like a dream; calming, slow. ivan's eyes were barely cracked open, irises focused on the mirror and the picture it reflected. his head was tilted onto a shoulder, legs saddling another's to make sure he doesn't slip from the very comfortable position he's in.

the brush glides through his hair, gently tugging on his scalp. ivan leaned in the slightest bit. it felt good. compared to his eyes, his lungs, his feet; this person was like a safe haven, a warm spring bath.

he watched as his hair was carefully divided and braided into a relaxed hair style, not pulled too much this way or that. as the end of it was tied with a silk tie, the other hand reached into a box. ivan didn't see it clearly, but if he did, he'd recognize several silver pins with details impossible to get underwater, each a different design.

throughout his midnight hair, stars were scattered across it.

the sound of pen scratching parchment lulled him back to sleep, forgetting the brief moment of awareness.

another painting hung in till's studio, depicting two characters. one, asleep, was in front and the clear subject; the second was behind, carefully pinning the last hairclip in place, recreating the galaxy.

till's pearl was his muse; from paintings to songs, it seemed as if creativity itself sprouted from ivan.

briefly, till fantasized a life where he and ivan would marry. in a month from now, they'd be engaged, and follow a two-year courting period until they're both twenty, and get married.

the entire empire knew he was courting someone at this point. he isn't sure what gave it away; was it the mass amount of jewelry and clothing and paints he commissioned? perhaps someone saw him carry ivan home? or did a servant gossip about it?

till paused, looking at the painting. he had a new idea, and all he had to do was wait for night to come and ivan to sleep.

flowers were delivered to the palace, where till arranged them around ivan's sleeping form. he let his hair fall naturally, but changed the clothing to be looser, as if ivan were floating on the water's surface. the moon carefully shone on ivan's face, giving a feeling of tragic beauty; as if ivan were a corpse on the water, surrounded by the flowers of loved ones.

...till readjusted the scene to make ivan seem immortal.

and, when he stepped back to paint it, he left a light kiss on ivan's forehead.

one night, ivan woke up during a scene. fully awake with conscious thoughts; it had to happen sooner or later.

this one... was a more dubious one that'd be stored under till's bed. his shirt was rucked up, pillow under his neck and shoulder blades to let his head fall back, hair splaying out. his pants were pulled down just a bit to show his hip bone, and the moonlight fell across him to paint a lascivious portrait. till had left marks of himself too; a cloth that lay across ivan's eyes with till's name stitched onto it, jewelry that till had commissioned himself.

ivan was briefly confused by the darkness, before realizing a cloth was gently laid over his eyes. confused, he took it off, stilling at the sight of till painting him.

"what are you..." he couldn't finish his sentence. his mouth had gone dry. the easel was positioned so that he could just barely see the painting, but the glimpse was enough.

there was an obvious artistic choice in it; in the way that ivan's pearl skin was pink, mouth slightly open.

the night ended with a kiss and a kiss and a kiss.

ivan discovered, the morning after, that the knives had completely left. his lungs stopped drowning in unseeable water, and his eyes no longer burned at the slightest disturbance.

till had paraded his fiancé, who wore a veil to shield themself from the world. it was improper to gaze upon them until they wed, after all.

so, maybe there's a sports competition (that one with bikes that Frida loves but I forgot the name...💔) and obviously Frida wants to participate with Cleo!! and Cleo accepted but uh she doesn't really care, so Frida feels bad for that, also Cleo is being mean in front of Frida's dad so that makes the situation worse, and they FIGHT !!! (and I feel like maybe another person makes the situation worse just because they can...) but at the end, Cleo loves Frida, so she helps her and they WIN YAYY!!!

(I just noticed that in the new teaser, they have an award with a fish...)

JOAN AND CONFUCIUS!?!!

I think the name ep "money can buy me love: stupid is as cupid does" OBVIOUSLY talks about Confucius and Joan...so I think the EP would be something like this: Confucius can't get a date for valentine's day, so maybe he pays joan to fake to be her gf, obviously they do all sort of couple things just so Confucius can post pictures (maybe to make Harriet jealous??), eventually they genuinely fall in love

honestly, Confucius really cared about Harriet, and they were a cute couple, so i won't be mad if Joan and him are end game, I'm pretty sure he would be a good boyfriend

like, yeah, the clones have made a few comments about how they feel about their clone parents, but it has never been a major plot

cleo, abe and topher would be perfect as protagonists, they're the ones that have talked more about their relationship with being clones (and topher literally changed his full name), but Joan, harriet and Confucius made comments too, INTERESTING COMMENTS !! soy they would be good protagonist too

(also Frida, but she didn't bring it up herself so idk if it counts)

do the old clones keep living with their og foster parents?? we know Joan lives with Candide now because toots died, but what about Cleo?? they used to live together, did her mother die too?? and the other old clones, do they have the same foster parents?? and if not, how they feel about it?? are they sad, angry or happy?? do they care or not?? we didn't really see how the clones feel about the time skip, so i hope at least we see how they live in their homes now

we see that topher has a new group of friends, but in s2 Abe was his only friend, is he trying to fill the void Abe left ?? or he doesn't care about abe anymore?? because we always saw topher with abe, and when he was in the background he never interacted with the other clones (not even with Ivan the terrible)

maybe Abe tells him to never talk to him again, and Topher realizes he's a bad person and tries to improve (I'm delusional)

anyways, i just want to see what happens with these two, i specially want to see what happens with Topher

see this is why i love talking about movies with people because they give you new perspectives to scenes.

I NEVER saw ivan staying in the US as him showing his love for anora, staying for her, you know? I always saw it as him doing it for him, because in the US he could do all the partying, showing off his money, running from responsibilities, etc more freely since his parents have a mansion there, a place to call home and have his things. Anyways i always saw him proposing to anora so he could stay in the US as something selfish and only for his own beneficial, if anora said no he would easily just go back to the club and find someone who would say yes to him.

but you made a point and it really opened my mind to the possibility that he might love anora, just in very very childish peter pan manner and maybe not an "i love you for who you are, outside and inside!" but more of a "i love what you represent" and in this case anora would represents his ticket to get away from his responsibilities for good, his freedom.

I can also see ivan not having bad intentions (he's just very immature and childish, which is not good in many situations) BUT at the end of the day we also have to weight in what his actions cause and they ended up harming people and that's important too, like yeah okay he didn't mean to cause any harm but he ended up causing it so he needs to take accountability for it. I believe the fact he never takes accountability for anything and always runs is what makes me not believe that he loves or cares for anora as her person but as what she represents in his life , the one to give him freedom, and if he fucks up with her he can find someone else like her. His childish act can go on for a very limited time before it turns from cute, funny and a little endearing to something hurtful, neglectful and annoying to the people around him AND again we need to blame his parents for a big part of who he is, like they babied him so fucking much that they have to put babysitters watching him at the big age of 21, but he can think for himself and he should know a little better and try to be a better person, think more before he acts.

Igor definitely is harder to read than ivan, like with ivan we know what he wants, he literally said it in the trailer "i want to marry an american so i can stay in america and not go back to russia!". While Igor is just there, he doesn't talk much in the trailer, he's the one that stays "i like anora, it's a pretty name" and he asks if ani knows what her name means (she doesn't or she doesn't care/believes in that) and I believe him liking her name and knowing what her name means is what makes him start to want to take care of her, probably because he saw that she represents the meaning of her name (i don't remember what her name means but i think it was someone strong or has a strong willingness ??). But yeah I think igor is harder to read because he doesn't say much from what we got until now (i haven't even seen much of him in reviews, maybe i need to cactu up in some interviews that i haven't watched yet) and he strikes me as someone who really thinks before he does something, so we don't know what goes on his mind unless he really wants us too. ( !!!! POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR ANORA ENDING: !!!! isn't the ending like Anora getting in the car, it's pouring outside and Igor is there with her and she starts crying and igor like hugs her and comforts her? i think they lay down on the backseat too. wait... is that a romantic scene? i saw it as platonic, if it's romantic that's embarrassing on my part, very embarrassing.) !!!! END OF SPOILERS !!!!

It's so sweet and sad that Anora would fill back the tupperwares with food to give back to reader because she's used to have to give something back to have that kind of care/attention. I got a feeling Reader would be so red when Ani says she needs to start giving reader a lapdance for the food and they would say so quickly "No, thank you!" and start yapping about how there's no need for it because why would they want a lapdance from Anora (they're nervous about it) with a weird look on their face that would make Ani thinks reader doesn't find her attractive at all and in her mind she's like "Oh okay... if I'm that ugly to you just say so, no need to be rude about it!"

Also I have another hc that when Anora is showing off her ring and saying "Yeaaah I'm getting marry, bitch!" the dancers who aren't as closer to her and don't know the fully story are like "OMG ANI!! Congratulations bitch, when are you and reader getting married?" And Anora is just there like "😀 me and reader?? what???" because she's genuinely confused about why they think she and R would get married I mean come on now it's not like R cooks her meals EVERY TIME, or picks her up on their car when it's raining/snowing/just too cold or when it was one of those busy nights (they swear reader has sixth sense for those nights) so she doesn't have to walk all tired/during bad weather to her apartament, it's not like reader sends her flowers weekly like why would they think that? it doesn't make sense.

!!spoiler's for anora's ending, when i start talking about igor!! i cut it into 3 sections, ivan, reader, then igor at the end so ur safe til then

this interview informs ivan's character more, if you're interested. mikey suggesting super rich kids by frank ocean is also great. in terms of ivan with love, who could have taught him what it is? his parents aren't around, simply controlling figures who don't care about his wellbeing - they only want to annul his marriage because it looks bad for them that he's married to a "hooker". fake friends only there for his money and his proximity to getting what they want from him.

to quote mark in the interview "[ivan's'] not a bad guy but just a kid who tried to find home and love... i feel, myself, lonely". i think both ivan and ani don't really know what love is, hence their pursuance of that fairy tale. it isn't a case of a rich man dangling his wealth in front of a girl and promising a future knowing he won't give it, but perhaps the only way ivan does know how to show love. his parents would have given him all this to keep him from complaining, he makes his friends by taking them on trips and partying, and that's all he knows.

with the marriage=staying, the variety article (first i ever read, rly informed my initial takes) says he proclaims love first after ani "teaches him", and it's in that conversation where he wants to get married explicitly to stay in contact with her. i stick to "ivan and ani are in love because they say and think they are", and the question on whether it's true doesn't matter as much as if it can last, which is a no. 

babying in my head gives an image of present parents who coo and go "oh you did nothing wrong, here we'll fix it" which isn't the case. the "babysitters" are goons to make sure ivan doesn't fuck up their legacy/image, not actually a show of care but a "you'll embarrass us, you bring us shame". ivan has never been trusted, taught, cared about as more than an afterthought. i bet that they realised too late that they couldn't morph him into the perfect heir for their business and gave up on him. it's isolating to not have a purpose. imagine when you were a kid and you naturally acted out for attention, the people who should've taught you better are ashamed and leave you alone all the more.  possibly toros, his godfather, would've been his only guide/real parental figure, but even he can't be around a lot.

i didn't mean for it to be sad that she returns it with food LOL but yeah definitely some themes from later creeped into my mind. thinking of ani's russian/uzbek immigrant grandparents, she would have grown up in a community where they check in with each other, drop off food, return tupperware with food, offer help to each other etc. it's ani showing that she thinks reader is part of her family, an instinctive drive to provide?

oh you thinking that about igor makes a lot more sense now, yeah i can see how that can come off as big brother. i assume you want to know cause you're delving into it as much as me, spoilers for the ending below. mentioned in a few articles are the glances between igor and ani. that he becomes her white knight, her protector, the quiet but always looking out for her guy on the side. if anora is a commentary on class, and the eternally transactional nature of relationships where sex is interchanged for money, consider a character that is at the same financial/power rung but still cares about and does things for her. just for her, not because she can or is expected to do something in return.

!! ending spoilers warning !!

igor returns ani's diamond ring to her, having swiped it from toros because he understands she cares about it. ani (different interpretations on why. some say she doesn't want to be a golddigger so she does something in exchange, i prefer that she cannot comprehend that someone would do something just for her) gives him a lapdance and seduces him. afterwards, he attempts to kiss her, solidifying that igor didn't just want sex but genuinely just likes her. ani starts weeping on his chest. is she scared of the idea that it is real? was seducing him a test that he failed, that he should've refused the sex to solidify it first?

even if ani believed ivan loved her, i think she intuitively knew she wasn't actually understood. they were too different. she probably hoped they had more time to gradually know each other, or that she'd be let fully into his life and her past might not matter so much. mikey says that the name ani is a shield, from people at the club knowing her the same way girls would don a stage name. anora is her real self that she rejects. only igor acknowledges it. igor, who has refused to make advances on her several times before this, who has confused her so much because it's clear he does like her, to the point that she yells at him that he must be gay or a coward. igor, with his similar background, does have the potential to know her. maybe that's terrifying.

Why exactly does Ivan think Peter is his bastard? Well probably because Amelia told him that, why did she do that? She's not even totally sure. She also told him that he was never born and she drank moon tea to get rid of it. Which is what she was SUPPOSED to do with Arthur’s kid but she didn't really feel like it. She lives for creating unnecessary drama in her life and pinning powerful men against each other and watching them fight over her like rabid dogs a girl needs a hobby I guess. Not like she can play Nintendo or something.

Not to mention if he just thought about it logically for a second, which is asking a lot here. He would realize the time lines don't even add up. But 'not using their brains' is what got both he and Arthur into this situation. Poor Amelia just wants to go to Essos...just someone drop her off there already and forget about her she causes so many problems. Abandon her in the Dothraki Sea she would be fine. She would be married to a Khal in a week and have them all convinced she’s their moon goddess. She would be fine.

Lovino actually doesn't care about any of this and he's off at Casterly Rock dicking around. Which is his favorite thing to do.

Now I can explain this situation a little bit. Amelia was engaged to Arthur first. 2 years ago before the story starts he snuck her away one night and took her sailing, this is where Peter comes from. When he was born her father shipped him away to Pyke to 'hide her shame' assuming when they got married they could just brush it under the rug and legitimize him and then no one would care. Which she was very upset about as you can imagine. She did get to name him at least before they sent him away. She would ask Arthur about him a lot in letters. This left Arthur at an Impasse, he had zero desire to raise a kid. But allowed Peter to just exist in his house basically because he was his key to Amelia. She started showing a lot more interest in him romantically when he had her son at his house.

After Arthur broke a treaty her father called off their engagement and set her up with Lovino Tyrell. Amelia didn't want to marry him because she thinks he's boring and instead started messing around with her cousin Ivan because she really just wants to fly his dragon across the sea. So she sets up this whole murder plot to kill his sister and Ivan is dragging his feet about actually doing it afraid for you know 'getting caught' which is a very big deal and would end them both being killed. So, Irritated with that Amelia starts up sending love letters to Arthur. I mean she doesn't actually mean what she's writing in them and it's more just to get him worked up and make him mad. Again she just wants his boats. Om her side that’s all this is and all it’s ever been, while Arthur genuinely believes she is madly in love with him and revels in it. He does not necessarily ‘love’ her in the traditional sense and she is mostly a status piece for him. She very beautiful and a lot of the high lords want her as matches for their sons, so it’s like a “haha look who I have” type thing for him. He does think she’s beautiful and he does think he’s in love with her. But again it’s more of an obsession than actual love. So she sets up an elaborate kidnapping for herself by him. He takes her away to Pyke. He wants to get married basically the second she steps off the ship and she just rolls with it. But she kind of hates him a little bit because he's a prick and always drunk but he's a pirate so what can you expect. But he's also like crazy about her, like actually crazy. Like 'If you try and leave me I'll lock you in a cell, but don't worry it would be a nice cell.' crazy. So now she's stuck there. Too bad so sad, play stupid games win stupid prizes. But she is pretty happy to have her son back, so that’s one win I guess.

• this can go on for weeks, in that time alfred will have to force feed his darling, without realising that they're up to. honestly if they play along like its a real eating disorder he may get a professional in for them, and then they'll have their chance to escape. america is a food lover himself, so will naturally be very concerned if his darling isn't eating properly.

ENGLAND

• he's quick to shut his darlings attempts down, arthur had already considered all the things his darling would do to escape, food abstinance being one of them. arthur wouldn't immediately force his darling into eating, the opposite actually. if they don't want to eat then he won't waste his time bringing them food.

• he's not going to beg his darling to eat or force feed them at all, he'll patiently wait as his darling succumbs to starvation and asks for food. england will use this as an opportunity to show his darling how rebellious actions will get them no where, so it's best to just behave themselves.

CANADA

• matthew is more upset about this then he lets on, he see's it as his darling telling him they want to leave him, which is what they're saying, but he's just so infuriated that another person wants to leave him. he thought you were different. matthew really doesn't do anything but sulk for the first few days. whether this is a manipulation tactic or he's truly that sad is debatable.

• he'll eventually pull himself together, and deduct that his darling just needed to spend more time with him, then they'd be want to stay with him and eat. you'll do everything together for the next few weeks. if canada still has to beg and force feed his darling after a few months, he's going to get very mad, it's best for his darling to think of a different way to escape.

FRANCE

• francis probably has one of the most emotional reactions, by the second time his darling refuses dinner, he'll be begging them to just have a bite. as a yandere that wants his darling to be safe and healthy, their food abstinance will get to him. he'll offer them the most delicious food possible, if they manage to resist the cuisine he offers them, then thats a miracle in itself.

• if presenting them with a multitude of options doesn't work, if begging and guilting doesn't work, then he'll resort to force feedimg them. it breaks france's heart when he has to make his darling eat, but he can't have them starving themselves, not at all.

RUSSIA

• when the baltics report to him that his darling isn't eating the food he so graciously provides them, he's immediately thinks it's because they don't like the food, no worries! a homemade dinner from ivan should do the trick!. when they reject that, he becomes very angry, and immediately resorts to force feeding. if his darling continues to be a brat, then he'll leave them in their room with no food at all.

• if his darling isn't careful this could end with them starved to death, or in a state of eternal hunger pains if they're a country. whilst russia doesn't intend for his darling to starve to death, he sometimes forgets how fragile humans can be. their situation will continously worsen, if they're still stubborn, there's a small chance russia might resort to bribery, but this is only if years pass.

CHINA

• yao is confused at first, people need food to survive, sure his darlings situation might not be ideal, but risking their own healthy because of it?, his darlings behaviour seems ridiculous to him. yao is a culinary master, and will cook them up mountains of mouth watering food to eat, he's genuinely surprised if they refuse that, and a bit offended, his cuisine is the best cuisine, why doesn't his darling like it?.

• in short he's a confused old man, but that won't stop him from forcing his darling to eat, their health is his main priority, and he's not going to let anyone, even themselves, prevent him from keeping them healthy and safe.

bitch, I think I outdid myself on this one. I'm shocked I wrote this

He hated the Tsar. He hated himself, but he didn't hate you. How could he of let this happen, he's never been a slave to his emotions. You were married, no, scratch that, you were the Queen for Saint's Sake. The Tsar had made it common knowledge that you didn't belong anywhere but the Grand Palace, in a glittering gown and a jeweled crown upon your always perfect hair sitting in front of a fire sipping on your tea. He wanted you nowhere near the action or actual Palace life. You were merely an accessory to him.

The young and innocent girl raised in nobility, who caught the old bastard's eye by fluttering your eyelashes at him, longing for his person.

Bullshit.

Aleksander could see your repulsion whenever you were in your husband's presence. The longing eyes as you looked at the doors, the shiver that rattled your spine as his sweaty hand gripped yours, or the increasing sadness in your eyes as the months went on. The jewels around your neck glistened, but your eyes didn't. Not anymore.

He had done some digging in the months following the wedding, and rest assured you didn't belong anywhere near the palace. You were scrappy, ready for a fight at all times. There were numerous accounts of you running around villages, fighting your way through pubs and inns. Your parents, the Duke and Duchess, were downright ashamed of you before your big day. You were itching to drop everything and join the First Army the second you had the chance. You were skilled in ways no noble was; you had street smarts.

Then the late Queen died and you were presented on a silver platter to the King, donning all the family jewels that never sit quite right. The King couldn't help himself, the public blamed the grief for his hasty marriage, 'he needed a companion.' But in reality, he saw what he could have and grasped you up the second he had the chance. And now you were stuck here, in a cage with no way out.

Aleksander didn't take a liking to you at the start. All he saw was what the King wanted him to see and for that, he feels tremendous guilt. He thought you to be proper and uptight and spoiled, so when you approached him the first time, franticly asking for advice about a simple state matter that was dropped into your lap by the General himself, he couldn't help but snigger at you and convey news of the stupid Queen to his fellow Grisha.

He didn't know the King treated you like a child or that all of this was new to you. I should've seen it he cursed himself, for the weeks to follow you were the talk of both the Palaces and news spread to camps on the front.

The stupid, young, ditsy girl who couldn't put together a luncheon for Ravka's war heroes was the Queen. Ridiculous.

He believed it too until he had seen you out one night when he couldn't sleep. You were deep in the forest, tending to your black stallion and in what looked like peasant clothing. You had mud on your boots and your hair was messily braided. There was a tatted punching bad tied up on a tree and another person sitting against a log, breathing heavily and clutching his side. Aleksander never made himself known, just blended into the darkness as he did best but continued to watch you eagerly. Only then did he faintly make out your bruised knuckles and the tears in your breeches.

'Again?'

'Saints Y/N no, I've got a way to go and the way you just bruised my ribs, I've a painful journey ahead of me' mused the sitting man.

That night, Aleksander sent out his best Grisha to collect information and asked Genya to tend to you, but you denied yet again (only after asking her to fix up your hands).

Ever since then, Aleksander has been observing you and getting to know you when he could, telling his Grisha it was to gather information since Genya was no longer garnering the Queen's secrets, but he felt drawn to you for whatever reason. You were the best part of his day; whether it was a simple smile sent his way or you rambling about the ways you avoid being followed around the palace, he listened intently and set the shared memories into his brain.

The General was a mystery to you. With his extremely handsome face and confident stances, he mesmerized you to the point of a blank mind. Whenever your eyes met his, it could be in a room of 60 people, rest assured you were right by his side in an instant. You had sought out his presence wherever you went and clung to it while you could.

But the King had made his opinion of the Darkling obvious, and his hatred ran deep. 'He likes to think he rides a horse above everyone else.' 'He's most unnatural.' You didn't care though. As long as he kept himself away from you and just used his words and not actions, you were fine.

You had gathered a particular kindness for late evening walks before bed, silently slipping onto the grounds of his palace, awaiting his companionship. It might have only been 40 minutes out of your day, but it was always better than not seeing him.

Ivan had pointed out that you had an air of hostility around you every time you were in a room with your husband and your heart tended to beat dangerously fast as if you were panicking. So Aleksander attempted to pull you away from him and distract you from the horrid man, and it seemed to work. He grew to like you and would miss your witty humor when he went back to the Little Palace.

Months had passed and he never grew sick of your presence, ironically he craved more of it. He tried to tell himself that you were just a part of his plan, nothing more, but things got even more complicated. He had accidentally mentioned seeing you that night in the forest, and instead of being hostile about it, you told him you enjoyed a fight or two and invited him to join you. That night, after multiple rounds of sparring and hard hits, he kissed you fervently. And again and again, until you both got past the point of going back.

You acknowledged the risk only after it happened and started to panic. You had an affair with the General of the Second Army. He seemed to be in the same state as you. But before you went your separate ways, he held you in his arms and promised it would all be ok. You believed him.

He got back to his chambers that night and his demeanor changed behind the closed doors. He was so mad. He always swore to take what the King loved most and destroy it before his very eyes, but this was a sick joke the Saints played on him. He needed to protect you, get you out of the Tsar's grip, and hide you away from any harm. There was nothing he wouldn't do to keep you out of danger's way and he knew it. Why did he let this happen? He knew that whatever your ending may be, you would get hurt, maybe not physically, but definitely emotionally.

You had told him of all the things the King did to you, how he treated you and paraded you around. You begged Aleksander to do something about it, to help you get out of that life and back to your old one, but there was nothing he could do and it broke his heart.

'I wish I could do something Y/N, I truly do, but I am not as powerful as you may think I am. The King is still the King' he had told you, guilt building in him.

He was sitting at his desk in his chambers now, looking out the window feeling fidgety. You were late for your evening walk, like really late. Sure it happened before, but Aleksander had a weird gut feeling that something happened. Maybe the King found out? or maybe you finally realized the magnitude of the situation and came to your senses?

He knew if the King whiffed out a sliver of what was going on with his wife and Aleksander, he would rain hellfire. He was a powerful man, the most powerful man in all of Ravka and there was nothing more dangerous than an embarrassed man's actions.

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud noise he hadn't heard in a very long time, followed by the very loud thuds of falling books. The tunnel?

'ALEKSANDER?' your panicked voice reached him and triggered something primal in him. fight or flight. He and his shadows shot up and ran to you but stopped dead in his tracks, the black matter disappearing in on itself. You stood at the entrance to the tunnel, visibly shaking with anger, but that's wasn't the cause of his shock.

'Saints Y/N' He whispered, realization flooding over him like a nasty wave of ice-cold water. Your once ivory white nightgown was drenched in crimson but you were uninjured, it wasn't yours. The huge green Lanstov emerald sitting atop your left hand was smeared in red too, giving it a brown tinge.

'I need to get out of here right now.' You sounded solid and stern, the panic was long gone. The scrappy fighter was back.

Aleksander had always known what to say. But now, he didn't have a single word come to his mind and his body refused to move, he was rendered speechless and useless. This is a nightmare, surely, he prayed.

'Y/N I-I, What happ-'

'Aleksander, unless you want to see my head on a pike by dawn, I suggest you help me' You said as you moved across the room, after closing the tunnel door firmly shut. How does she even know about these tunnels?

'I once heard a drunkard speak of tunnels beneath the palaces, I tried my luck' You said answering his question without even being asked,

Your hands moved quick, shedding yourself of the nightgown and holding it in your hands as you moved to grab his black robe off a chair. Aleksander still stood there, his head whirling with so many thoughts, it debilitated him. He needed her to say it.

'Y/N did you do what I think you did'

'You know I did'

At that moment the doors burst open to reveal Ivan with an alarmed look on his face and his hands raised, ready to jump into action, most likely alerted by the falling books. But he faltered when he saw you, The Queen, covered in blood and holding a bloody nightgown in the most secure room of the Little Palace.

'Great another witness' You huffed and dumped the gown into the fireplace.

'Moi soverenyi, what is the meaning of this?'

'Ivan I wish I could tell you.'

'I killed the King. I have approximately 3 hours before somebody notices him laying in his own blood with his neck slit open' You sighed and sat down, head in your hands. This was the first moment you'd had to process it all, and it was overwhelming, to say the least.

A silence enveloped the room as the fire roared back to life, already having burnt the evidence to a crisp. Aleksander finally came to his senses, moved and grabbed a bowl of water and a cloth.

'Did anybody see you leave?' He asked as he handed you the items to wash your hands of the sticky blood.

'No. I made sure of it. I traveled through the tunnels.'

'And the King? There is no weapon near him?' Ivan interrupted.

Slowly you bent down and pulled a small dagger out of your shoe. Small but sharp.

'Give that to me' Aleksander took it out of your hands and walked out of the room while you continued to scrub the crimson off your hands.

You momentarily looked at Ivan, he didn't look mad or upset. He looked like a soldier.

'Are you not mad your King is dead?' You mused.

'He was not my King'

'That makes two of us' You were done cleaning your hands and moved to clean the ring. Should I burn this too?

'Leave it on. If things go sideways, you can buy your freedom' Aleksander returned. 'Ivan go get 2 horses and pack essentials. Get Genya too. I trust you to keep quiet.'

'Yes Moi soverenyi, Moya tsaritsa' He bowed his head quickly and waltzed out the room.

'Aleksander I'm scared now.....what have I done' You whispered. He took hold of your hand and pulled you into him. He held you tight, not wanting to let go.

'It's going to be ok. I promise. There's a small cottage down south I want you to go to. Ivan will take you. You will be safe. I will right this. I will protect you as I should've done earlier.' He kissed you deeply, letting all of the emotions flow through without the need for words.

'And what then?' You whispered against his lips.

'You be you. Perhaps go to Ketterdam. I feel you belong there... or come back to me when the time is right' He kissed you again, it was sweet and sad. A goodbye kiss. 'I love you, and even though you don't like it, you are my Queen. Forever'

'I love you too' Your hands fisted at his beautiful black kefta as tears dripped off your face.

That night you fled, your hair and appearance completely changed. The peasant clothes you felt comfortable in were on your back while the heartrenderer galloped beside you. Os Alta was still asleep as you sped down south, praying to the Saints that leaving Aleksander to deal with your mess was the right decision. That he would be ok too.

Ravka was shaken by the news of their dead King and the missing Queen. Some say she was dead, kidnapped by Fjerdans, and slaughtered mercilessly, others said Kerch merchants had her thrown in the Fold as she refused to give up information.

Either way, Aleksander had made sure you weren't regarded as a murderer and kept his promise to give you a chance to return to the Little Palace, to him.

Miraculous: Tales of Scarabella And Onyx Kitty - Season 1 - Episodes 1 + 2

Note: Please know that one or both of these episodes can or will be rewritten to blend in with the premise of this AU. Compare to canon, some things might be changed barley, drastically or completely replaced with an original episode idea.

Origins of Stoneheart (Episode 1)

The introduction of the miraculouses & Hawkmoth stay the same, but Master Fu’s (plus Wayzz) is a bit different.

Rather than choosing random kids right off the bat to be Ladybug & Chat Noir (Marinette & Adrien), it has been confirmed that Master Fu has been watching not only Marinette and Adrien, but countless of people for years just in case if he needs someone to take his place as guardian. With his best judgement, he came to the conclusion that Marinette and Adrien are the best suitable choices for the ladybug and cat miraculouses.

This is why Master Fu is a bit more confident in giving out the other miraculouses later on in Sapotis.

There’s more reasons why Master Fu choosed to give miraculouses to two teens other than their personalities and heroic traits, but that’s something I have to explain later.

Wayzz considered Fu’s long time friend, Jazz (my oc), as a possible option for help, but Fu figured that the best option would be to give the Miraculouses to a pair that’s more youthful.

Most of the events that transpired in episode 1 stayed the same, but it's more in Alya's point of view than Marinette's.

Instead of the second scene starting with Marinette's morning, it starts with Alya's and her family.

The episode also shows Chloe’s morning.

Some scenes in this episode (like Marinette helping Master Fu cross the street, Adrien helping Master Fu up, etc.) still happened, but some scenes aren’t shown.

Just because I didn’t like what the original did, both Ivan AND Kim are sent to the principal’s office.

Before stoneheart is born, Kim does try to explain to Ivan that he was just joking around with him, but Ivan wasn’t having it.

I want to try to make Natalie a little more understanding and sympathetic towards Adrian‘s feelings in this AU. She will still make bad choices and judgement when it comes Adrien (similar to Gabriel), but I want it to be known that Natalie does care for Adrien in her own way (and before you say it, even though it doesn’t matter, yes, bad people still can care about someone while still making bad decisions). So when Gabriel scolds Adrien, Natalie shows actual concern and sadness when Adrien does. Which is why she says “we could stop here today if you want to” before Adrian runs away, to ease the tension and pain of the situation.

Most of the scenes with the introductions of Ladybug and Chat Noir are cut short, replacing part of those scenes with Alya and Chloe simultaneously. 

The LB, CN, and Alya v.s. Stoneheart scene stayed mostly the same.

Like the original, Marinette gives up the Ladybug miraculous, but she actually manages to give it to Alya next episode.

In this AU, Adrien in fact hasn’t given up on his destiny as Chat Noir just yet, but he still does put the ring back in the box that it came in.

Origins of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty (Episode 2)

The beginning scene showing Marinette talking to her dad about the Stoneheart situation is replaced with Alya talking to Nora. Nora gives a similar speech like Tom’s to Alya, but of course it’s a bit different.

Alya worries about the situation at hand and whether if Ladybug and Chat Noir will be able to take care of it. She also wishes there was something that she can do.

Some scenes with Marinette/Adrien alone are even cut short or cut completely and replaced with Alya and Chloe scenes.

Alya instead tells Marinette the idea of creating a blog dedicated to the new Ladybug super-heroine, but she doesn’t actually go through with it yet.

Little minor details, but notice how Juleka is a little more energetic in the earlier episodes compared to later episodes of the series where she’s more shy? I like shy characters just because I can relate to them, but I want to keep that 50/50 with Juleka. She’s shy sometimes, but sometimes she’s a little more expressive with her feelings. 

The Chloe v.s. Alya scene is still intact of course.

Marinette proceeds to slip the Ladybug miraculous in Alya’s bag like in the original. However, the scene is extended a little, with Alya talking about how great it would be to be a superhero. Marinette also adds something along the lines like “Are you sure you are capable tho?” Which Alya finds strange, but is sure she will do just fine.

Chloe sticks gum on Alya’s seat instead of Marinette’s (I just think it makes a little more sense). However Marinette is still a little distrust for Adrien because 1). The misunderstanding of Adrien putting gum on her new best friends’s seat, and 2). he’s friends with Chloe.

Ivan proceeds to turn into Stoneheart. Mylene gets kidnapped, but Marinette gets kidnapped instead of Chloe. This is because Ivan sees her before he sees Chloe in THIS AU and he’s mad with her for telling him “bogus advice”.

Alya takes her bag in this AU.

Chloe manages to get Adrien’s bag in hopes of returning it, because Chloe NEEDS to be a better friend who actually shows concern about her best friend darn it! 😑 (and no, I’m not only using this as a excuse for Chloe to take his bag lmao). She actually is concern about where Adrien goes btw.

Marinette tries to talk Stoneheart out of it with no success. Regardless, she tells Mylene that all will be ok.

On her way to the scene, she cuts an alleyway and trips, causing all of her contacts in her bag to spill. While picking up her things, it happens.

She sees the strange hexagon box in front of her. She picks it up and opens it, while wondering what it is. As she sees a pair of Ladybug earrings, a little creature comes out the miraculous in the box, revealing Tikki once again.

Tikki does question the situation, soon realizing what’s happening. Marinette has passed on her Miraculous to Alya. Tikki is sad about Marinette’s decision, but she still explains the situation to Alya, without giving away the original holder’s identity. Tikki still hopes that Marinette made the right choice to give her miraculous to Alya.

Alya already picked up on the basics of the Miraculous and finally transforms into the Ladybug super-heroine.

Alya hasn’t thought of a superhero name yet. She even tries to think of all of the possible names that she can give herself, like in the original. lol

Chloe meanwhile is home taking shelter.

Chloe complains like her average self. She searches her phone to try to call her father, but as she does, she realizes she’s searching the wrong bag, but she then finds a hexagon shaped box.

Curious, she opens it, revealing a black ring. A little creature comes out the miraculous in the box, once again revealing Plagg.

“Plagg: WHO THE HECK ARE YOU???”

“I should be asking that question! What are you, a cat??? Rat??? A CatRat!?!?”

Plagg eventually explains the situation to Chloe.

Chloe wasn’t originally going to go, but wanting to be part of the action, wanting to fill her ego, and to prove that she can be a better superhero than the previous “losers”, she goes to the scene and tries to stop Stoneheart herself.

She transforms into the new cat hero, Onyx Kitty. Chloe came with the name quickly.

Ladybug! Alya is on her way to the scene, but along the way, she sees Onyx Kitty in trouble.

After she frees her, they both flee. However, Ladybug! Alya doesn’t get a warm thank you for her heroic efforts. She gets a rude “Hmh. That’s at least you COULD do. Who are you anyway? Doesn’t seem like that you’re that ladybug “super zero” that everyone was gushing over before.”

Ladybug! Alya of course didn’t even know what to call herself yet, so Onyx Kitty made fun of her for it. Of course is already irritated with her and her remarks.

So from that point forward, their interactions with each other goes just as you expect it. Onyx Kitty does try to take hold of the situation and get over on Ladybug! Alya, but of course she’s not having it. Of course Onyx Kitty is annoyed by this, but deep down, she also feels something from the bug’s assertiveness. She doesn’t really know what this “feeling” is though nor knows what it means.

Ladybug! Alya explains that to stop Stoneheart, they have to go to the source. Onyx Kitty doesn’t necessarily “follow” her, she’s following where Stoneheart is in fears of being out due by this “Beetle Flop”.

We arrive at the Eiffel Tower, where everything is taking place. Andre demanded Stoneheart to let go of the two girls. So he does, by giving up only Marinette and throwing her.

Ladybug! Alya comes in just in time to catch her. Marinette’s in awe by the new ladybug superhero. And yes, even though that she doesn’t know for sure, she automatically knows that it’s Alya.

Roger’s scolding to the ladybug hero is the same, because he thinks that it’s the same Ladybug.

Surprisingly, Onyx agres with the cop, but promises to handle things by herself for now on and save Paris on her own. This upsets Ladybug! Alya.

Marinette is the one that gives Ladybug the speech in this AU. She basically says that Ladybug gave her the earrings for a reason, and that she believes in her and her abilities. Marinette’s encouraging words gave her the strength to fight.

Hawkmoth’s speech stays the same, but Ladybug! Alya is the one that makes the promise of protecting Paris instead (and yes, she only makes that promise. Not including Onyx Kitty.).

In this speech, she finally declares her name: Scarabella.

“Onyx Kitty: Wow, whoever that is behind that mask, she’s a big show off! I hate her.”

The catching of the akuma butterflies & and Stoneheart attacking stays the same for the most part.

Scarabella: “ONYX KITTY, get Mylene! I’ll take care of Ivan!”

Onyx Kitty: “Don’t tell me what to do!” (*does proceed to catch Mylene*)

Scarabella uses her Miraculous Ladybug to heal everything and the day is saved! Plus Hawkmoth tells his basic cheesy monologue about succeeding next time bah bah bah.

The Ivan and Mylene scene goes about the same, much to Onyx Kitty’s disgust.

Even though Scarabella tries to be nice, wishing Onyx Kitty a job well done for the efforts she DID do, Onyx Kitty’s still being a bitch lol

Nadia quickly arrives on the scene to bum rush Scarabella and Onyx Kitty with questions. Onyx Kitty tries to hog up all the spotlight, but Scarabella points out that she’s trying to transform back, much to Onyx’s dismay. 

 The conversation between Marinette and Alya goes a bit differently. Alya still deciding whether if she wants to make a blog, but asks Marinette to help her.

Gabriel still let’s Adrien go the school like the original. Natalie smirks a little in secret after Adrien leaves the car.

Alya helps Marinette to get the confidence to take her seat back. Chloe complains about it, but with the help of Alya standing up to Chloe too, Marinette finally stands up also.

Similar to the original, Marinette still refuses to talk to Adrien.

The rain/umbrella scene goes mostly the same, but Marinette doesn’t fall for him. Adrien does though.

Master Fu is worried about the situation that transpired before him. Even though disappointed in how everything turned out, he still has some hope that everything will turn out fine.

Izzy Brainrot, Part 5: neurospice

On the subject of masking:

It is, first and foremost, a survival instinct, to the point where it can be done subconsciously. We can see this “survival instinct” most obviously with Ed, because his personality is constantly in flux. He changes based on the social situation he’s in. Is there a “real” Edward Teach? To an extent, all of his various social masks are a part of him, but I think some are more authentic than others. Blackbeard, for example, is still very much a part of Ed. The Kraken, on the other hand, is very much a performance of unchecked violence – at the end of 1x10, we see Ed performing as the Kraken, then retiring to his quarters to sob his eyes out because he knows this isn’t him, not really. This performance is fucking him up and fucking him over and it’s devastating.

(Side note: in 1x10, Izzy says I serve Blackbeard and he gets the Kraken snipping off his toe for that. Was Izzy out of line? Undoubtedly. I’m not going to sympathize with him for being a dick. But, I do see Blackbeard and the Kraken as two separate entities. Blackbeard can run a ship with style and flair, but the Kraken rules with an iron fist and he’ll feed Izzy the rest of his toes if he mouths off again. Izzy wanted to serve Blackbeard, but he’s going to have to serve the Kraken until things get put right again.)

Izzy’s hypermasculine masking is also a survival instinct, probably developed very young and then affirmed through piracy, as I said. Ed reads as pretty damn neurodivergent to me (and many other fans here have said the same), as does Stede, to an extent – although I wonder how much of that is just him not knowing the social cues of piracy/being protected by gender & class privilege and not having the best grasp of the world outside his bubble. There’s a bit of a debate going on about Izzy being the unsympathetic neurotypical trying to keep Ed in line but CONSIDER:

Izzy is also neurodivergent.

Izzy who gets overstimulated during storms, who needs a routine to keep himself steady, who gets angry because it’s easier (and more socially acceptable, as a man and a pirate) than to be sad or afraid or whatever it is he’s actually feeling. Unlike Stede, who’s not afraid to cry or be openly afraid, to be as emotional as he needs to be in spite of all the childhood bullying, Izzy’s just angry, all the time. It’s a shield: if he believes his anger to be righteous and justified, he can be as emotional as he wants, in a socially acceptable masculine pirate-y fashion. The “oh my God” bit is hysterical, don’t get me wrong, but I think it’s really interesting how there are tears in Izzy’s eyes for a split second, then he checks himself and the final “oh my God” is filled with rage. Con O’Neill is really out here doing the most!! 

There is obviously a lot to be said about Izzy’s attraction towards Ed and Stede taking Ed away from Izzy. There’s a lot to be said about Izzy taking pride in his competence as a pirate and Stede cramping the vibe with his ship full of muppets. All of this is true but the big takeaway from this is that Stede Disrupted Izzy’s Routine. Plans Have Changed. Oh Fucking Fuck. To make matters worse, Stede is pulling Ed AND Fang AND Ivan into muppet-land so Izzy’s routine might as well be up in flames at this point and who’s steering the ship?

(Side story – a couple of months ago, my long-distance partner was visiting me and we were having a wonderful time being out and about until the bus schedule decided to betray us. We were supposed to go to a little get-together with some of my grad school friends but the bus was running late and therefore we weren’t going to make it to said get-together. I got super stressed about it and was totally thrown off and even though we made it back home and all that, there was still a shit-ton of anxiety that lingered. I was a mixture of anxious and frustrated and didn’t start feeling truly calm until a few hours later, after eating dinner and watching TV with my partner. We were able to salvage the evening – and grad school get-togethers are awkward as hell anyway, so we probably dodged a bullet – but I do not like it when my plans are thrown off, and am I projecting onto Izzy? Probably.) 

I was rewatching 1x02 and 1x03 the other day and Izzy is surprisingly chill (by Izzy standards, anyway) before Stede arrives. He’s doing typical pirate stuff with Fang and Ivan; everything’s going according to plan, but then Stede fucking Bonnet bests him and now Blackbeard’s all interested and – what? Izzy doesn’t want anything to do with this guy (oh EdWaRd, can’t I just send the BoYs) but Ed praises Izzy for getting things done Right and that’s that. Izzy’s always going to be rough around the edges, he’s always going to be a fighter, but Stede makes him truly pissed off. It doesn’t help that Stede’s a petty asshole to Izzy for reasons I can’t quite figure out yet. Could be anywhere from “Stede doesn’t like bullies” to “Stede wants to feel competent in front of this Real Pirate and so he’s overcompensating,” who knows? 

Stede, as the Gentleman Pirate, is 100% Stede. Stede’s openness, his authenticity, serves partly to highlight Izzy’s closed-off personality, the deep repression he’s putting himself through. Stede helps Ed learn to be softer, to take off some of his masks, but Ed doesn’t get rid of them, he still masks a ton when he’s in uncomfortable environments (see: the fancy party, which is all about ugly pageantry.) When he’s with Stede, though, Ed seems most himself. And Izzy’s still masked, because wearing the mask is all part of his own routine. Izzy thrives on routine and intricate rituals and I wonder who the man behind the mask is.

Allies:

He had to swallow hard at the though.

It never really occurred to him that it was something that could happen.

After all, it's not everyday a country manages to have kids with a human. Even France didn't know this was a thing.

He put on a brave face, kissing the top of their head and telling them it's alright.

He was their father first and foremost. Nothing was going to take them away from him completely, and he mentioned that nothing lasts forever.

His job was to raise them, and make sure they had a good life. So long he got to see his kid fulfill their dreams and just live their life, he's okay with it.

He doesn't want to see them go, obviously, but his love for his kid will never fade.

England:

Immediately gets choked up about it.

All he can really do is hold them, and remind them he still loves them, and just because they will go one day, does not change that fact.

He is sworn by his duty as a father to take care of them. To see them age and grow is just a fact they both have to accept.

He's already so proud of his kid, so he won't miss them too much so long they promise not to hold back in life just because they will pass on without him!

France:

He knew this talk was coming.

He knows the thought can be painful, but laughs a little none the less.

He let's them know their life span doesn't matter. What they do with it does.

He wants all the emotions, and the normal dad and child moments. Even the bratty ones.

He reminds his kid that their memory will live on way after they do.

They're his kid and he will always love them, even in death.

Makes them give him a pinky promise they'll be his little guardian angel, and smack him when he does anything stupid.

This at the very least, got them to smile a little.

And also tells them to say hello to Joan of Arc for him when they do go.

China:

He gives a heavy sigh.

He was hoping they wouldn't do this to him, even if that seemed selfish.

All he wanted for his kid was to see them grow old, be happy, and live their best life. He didn't want them wasting their tears on the thought.

But for now he held them close, soothing away as much of the pain as possible.

He loved his kid, and would gladly lay his life down for them.

He knows it's going to be rough, but seeing his kid laugh and smile gives him such pride, and makes him want to be better.

He tells his kid that no matter what, they will always be a source of strength for him. Even when they pass they will keep him going. Just so they can see him thrive from the afterlife.

Russia:

Was not ready, not at all.

Starts sobbing with his child over it.

It was a painful thought and he knew he'd never be ready to lose his kid, but that's all the more reason to try and better himself.

He did not want his kid living with an agressive alcoholic. Though the kid's mother had already taught him the love and kindness he needed to raise their kid.

He did not let go of them until they felt ready.

That night they spent most of their time talking about it, and as morbid as it sounds, they fantasized about the kids gravesight. The one they wanted in the backyard, surrounded by sunflowers and other beautiful flowers.

Russia talked about how he would visit them everyday, and how keeping their grave was going to be his way of taking care of them.

After that talk Ivan had a weird sensation in his chest. It wasn't sadness, but the thought he was given a chance to raise a kid made him feel, satisfied with life.

He knew he'd have days where the pain would be too much, but he was okay with that.

He wanted nothing more than a happy life for his child, and was prepared to do anything for them.

Axis:

Germany:

He had to prevent himself from crying.

It was important now to show strength. This wasn't about his feelings, this was about his kid's.

He held them, and did his best to comfort them.

That whole situation turned into him telling them all the amazing things they do, and are going to do as they live.

He just wants to be a witness to it all. He was so proud of them, and was going to bend over backwards to raise them.

The thought did get to him that night, and his child witnessed him cry anyway. Despite their age, and despite not having to do so for a long time, they shared the bed and slept a little more peacefully.

Both sides getting their feelings off their chest.

Germany had promised them he's always be there for them, no matter what they did, or who they became.

Italy:

He knew it wasn't forever, but the knot in his chest still developed. And he cried.

He wanted so badly for his kid to be happy, and live their life regardless.

He repeated over and over how much he loved them, and how proud he was of them.

He didn't mind them being bratty time to time because that was a normal kid thing?

They'd only have the ability to laugh about those phases later in life and he was okay with that.

His father instincts kicked in and he did everything he could to make them feel better. To sooth away their worries.

Just because they were gone, did not mean he was not going to stop loving them, and vice versa.

Nothing was more important to him then seeing his child grow, and grow old. Having known he did his job as their father.

Japan:

He kept quiet as he let his kid sob, and only talked about it when they seemed to calm down.

He loved his kid, they were the most important thing to him.

Even if it meant losing them, he was headstrong about raising them, making sure they had the best life they could.

He also told them straight out that he'd rather them be mortal, then immortal. All their friends, and potential lovers would be with them, and they would never have to suffer the way he did.

He'd rather them live their life and pass, while he takes care of their grave, keeping their Spirit alive in his thoughts.

There came a comfortable silence after this.

He wasn't going to fully lose his kid, no matter what. So even if it hurt, he'd always have them by his side. Right until the very end...
