Not going to lie. The way those books are written sounds so cool! does each POV have a different writing style? Because that would be goated!

It is so cool! And there is not a different writing ‘style’ in the literal since. You can still tell it’s one writer writing all the POVs but each character has their own things they focus on. Like for example. Here’s some things I’ve noticed while reading characters:

Theon Greyjoy- is extremely vain and is quick to point out people’s shortcomings in his mind. He will tell you if someone is ugly to him very bluntly. And maybe even make a few jokes about them to you. Which his jokes are normally pretty good lol. He also will find fault in people he finds attractive. When he meets his sister after 10 years he doesn’t know it’s her and is thinking that she’s pretty. Then he flips it and goes ‘actually no this girl has a big nose kind of, fuck her I’m prettier than this girl…like way prettier’ Which is a very funny character detail that he has to make sure the reader knows he’s the prettiest person in the room at all times. And if he’s not he will lie to you so he is.

Tyrion Lannister- focuses on little details, he will watch people hands and make note of subtle face gestures. Doubts everyone and makes you doubt everyone because he is very smart and it’s good to take his word for it if he finds someone sketchy.

Daenerys Targaryen- on the opposite side never notices any details except for people’s clothes. She will spend 2 pages explaining to you her pretty dress and jewelry she has on and make note of what other people are wearing and if she likes it or not. She won’t notice when someone is lying to her face and sees the good in everyone to a fault. She’s also kind of fucking crazy and often thinks about burning people alive to solve her problems.

Sansa Stark- is a day dreamer. Most of her chapters are her in a fantasy world where everyone is a knight from a storybook , everyone is good and they are nice to her. She knows they are not real but they are her escape. She’s not trying to get you to believe her day dreams. So a lot of her chapters are based on her current state of mind rather than actual story unfolding around her. Which isn’t her fault because it’s not like they tell her what their war plans are lol. But she also apparently does not and has not been telling the entire truth. Which again is interesting it makes me wonder what else she’s lied to the reader about.

So people’s personalities 100% effects the lense in which you see the world through. A lot of people skip certain characters chapters on second read through a because they are bring narratives like Bran is a big one everyone kind of agrees is boring.

If you’ve never read Game of Thrones one of the coolest things about the books is it switches POVs each chapter like one chapter will called John and then the next Cerci and you swap back and forth all of the book. But what is really cool in my opinion about it is The writer has said that not all the characters are reliable narrators and they embellish and some events either didn’t happen or they over exaggerated.

Sansa is a character he has openly said is not a truthful narrator which is really interesting. There is a moment during a battle where she is locked in her room in the castle and The Hound comes in there. His plan is to kidnap her and take her back to Riverlnds to her family. Sansa is scared and refuses and then she says that he threatens to kill her, the he makes her sing him a hym and then he kisses her. And she holds onto that through the remainder of the book she romanticizes it and the event changes slightly each time she recounts it. She is always thinking “I wonder if they know my first kiss was the Hound” but the thing is George said that never happens. That the Hound never kissed her or threatened to kill her. He did ask her to sing him a song though, because he was having a PTSD episode from all the fire outside. Which honestly makes since because for Sandor to just kiss Sansa is extremely out of character for him. He is a character who is not a good guy but wouldn’t hurt little girls. And people noted it was an odd thing for him to do and wondered where it came from. Because he had been the only one at the castle trying to protect her from the Lannisters and Joffrey the best he could and people were confused about it for the longest time until the writer admitted you can’t trust everyone at their word. You are in their POV which means they are telling you what they want you to believe. And some care about the truth more than others.

Also Cerci is obviously crazy she thinks her brother is living in the walls of the castle and that her uncle Kevin and Euron Greyjoy are Tyrell puppets sent to take her crown. None of this is true and the reader knows she is crazy because she is just insane. And you know she’s a proven liar and manipulator and you can’t trust her to tell you the truth of what is happening really.

But it’s just really neat to know there are secret liars in there somewhere.

Since not being in Italy I have been craving this so bad

And before you say “we have pear juice in America” NO…no. Yes we do have pear juice but not like this one right here. So this one is like weirdly thick pulpy almost. Like some pear purée in it ore something. It has like the gritty texture of the pear and you can chew on the bits of it. And they of course serve it room temp and it’s just delightful. I have tried to get it. I even called Coke here in America like a crack addict and asked them if they could get me products from Italy and they said no. But bought like 4 at the Rome airport and drank 2 on the 10 hour flight and then I had 2 more I was planning on savoring and the TSA Agent in Detroit took them away from me 😭😭. I was so livid. How they let me keep 6lbs of salted ricotta in my suitcase and not my sealed pear juice. I feel like he knew it made me happy and he wanted to steal my happiness away from me. And also it was Detroit and they are famously the biggest pricks in the Detroit Airport. So yeah… I want this juice. If your in Italia drink one for me

these sustained me in Italy this was my diet. I was not a big fan of the food I ate a cheese pizza for every meal and a cannoli for dessert every single day. Because I'm a picky eater. And every morning I would shimmy out of my apartment across the very busy street risking my life (Sicilian traffic) to the corner store and get me 3 pear juices. I'm positive the guy working thought I had a problem but idc, I did have a problem honestly. I still do! I'm still thinking about it!😭
