I DM'd for the first time today and it was so freaking fun! I didn't know what I was doing! I was coming up with a plot that's going to extend into other sessions on the fly! I did the voices! I'm coming up with a history for these NPCs! This is amazing!

can be pretty hyperactive, forgets things regularly (even important things, forgot he turned into a heartless in kh1), distractable, later on he seems to have some problems with emotional dysregulation. hes constantly called lazy by his friends but as soon as hes doing something he likes he has all the energy in the world, and also tends to dismiss his own intelligence despite actually being pretty smart, both of which are things that i think are decently common with undiagnosed adhd

#poll #noncanon adhd character #kingdom hearts #kh #sora #kh sora #sora kh #kingdom hearts sora #sora kingdom hearts #THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG TAG RAMBLE #ok first sora even getting posted is like a saga #originally i was going to post him myself but had trouble verbalizing evidence #so i asked my discord friends #and then i forgot to write down what they said and lost it #then he got submitted in the initial submissions right when the blog started #but the only evidence was 'look at him lol'#so he was unpostable #then he finally got submitted again during the recent spike with actual evidence!! so i can post him now #sora is so important to me #kingdom hearts is how i found playframe and that community is a huge part of my life now #and also i spent multiple years playing a weekly ttrpg campaign in a completely homebrew kh system #and it was the most fun ive ever had in my life and i am not exaggerating #there was only one other non dm player so three of us in all #and we had such a great dynamic we are such close friends now and the dm even looked up tips for dming for adhd players #and gave my character the ability impulsiveness which turned out to be one of our most powerful abilities #(i say our bc later we got the 'sisterly bond' ability which allowed us to use some of our coplayer's abilities and impulsiveness was one)#it let me take an action during someone else's turn at the cost of one less action on my next turn. basically taking it early #making her adhd one of our most powerful tools #and my character ended up very much a sora parallel despite not living in the time of the main kh games #so yeah. kh and adhd sora specifically. very important to me

I’m finishing up Northanger Abbey and it really gripped me just how much Catherine and Henry are friends first and foremost, that we get to see this natural supportive relationship rising up between them almost replacing the imagined romance of the earlier part of the story. Catherine’s friendship with Eleanor becomes just as much of a focus, and the three of them together are fantastic. Instead of contrasting a dreadful romantic interest (like Wickham) with an appealing one, the main contrast is between a dreadful flimsy friendship (Isabella) and the friendships Catherine earns by the end. The proposal is practically an afterthought.

I love the yearning and drama of the other Austen books I’ve read, but this book struck me just for the level of grounded heart beneath the gothic whimsy.

so in juniper's campaign we've just found ourselves in a high-stakes situation that I as a player do frankly find stressful and am anxious about, but hey hi also the DM was like 'okay here are the exact mechanics of how this is going to work because I don't want to surprise you with serious repercussions, also here are all the options you will have to try to do something about the situation-- [affected player] what do you think? honest feedback, I don't want it to feel unfair, I want to be clear that I am not just trying to kill your character, and if it ends up being badly balanced we can revisit it down the road' and oh my god I could COLLAPSE and WEEP with gratitude

so in the game i'm currently running we've had this ongoing thing about a romance novel called star-cursed lovers.

it's a subplot that advances every so often, where this romance novel appears in different volumes & rarities, but the covers, characters, and even some content of these books vary from person to person. my players are still well into the beginning of this plot

i should note that the first appearance of star-cursed lovers was to a solo pc. the cover & content they saw was of themselves and another pc 😭

yaoi rolls (1d20 + charisma modifier) are done during flirting or romance scenes, for the most part, and they affect not only how well the character does in that particular check, but all rolls add up towards the advancement of the scl quest.

it's all completely based on the fact that we find that shit hilarious

Ough. Post-session fatigue is hitting harder than usual today.

#i think it's because it's um. a friday after school. and also we picked up after like a 2 month hiatus. and also it's my new player group #as much as i love them (truly they are Amazing players in terms of creativity and roleplay and scheduling and such) it is a little...#it feels like higher stress because i want to match their level of detail and like... creativity (which i did)#but also i want to make sure that they are having fun which like. dms always want to do. but them especially #bc this is their first experience w/ dnd and i don't want to turn them off it. bc your first dm can really make or break it yk?#but like hhhhh after my players left i just. kinda cried. and it's wild bc it was a good session and they said that they enjoyed it #but the crash was still So real. also like explaining the rules (it was our first combat they know the rules In Theorybut yk how it is)#like tbh explaining the rules wasn't even that bad it was just. i think it was also just i was tired bc of school #(tbh this year i've just gone home midday on fridays bc i get so exhausted on them) and also first sess in a while and cetera #anyway i'm feeling a little better now bc i talked w/ one of my players and she was like. enthusing abt it. and i listened to good music #but like. wooo. that was a REALLY bad post sess crash i haven't felt that bad in ages #d&D #dante dicit #might delete #dming #dm'ing #dungeon master #dm #dungeons and dragons
