• one day at school bill asked you what your favorite cookie was and he practically begged his mom to help him bake those cookies for you. when he brought them in the next day he was so happy when you got excited for them.

• as you guys got a little bit older, you and tom would protect bill from bullies even if you got bullied too. but before you guys knew about what they were doing to bill, you would always clean up his cuts and kiss his bruises. after that, you would always walk with him, holding onto his hand tightly and try not to pay any attention to them.

• bill would pick flowers for you on valentines day because him and tom would pick them for his mom, and now that you were around, he'd get you some too

Now there's an Indian lady named Kate (eyy Indian) and she has Sexual Tension with the Bridgerton rakey dude named Anthony.

They Vex each other. And Sex each other. Vexing sexing.

But he's supposed to marry her sister or something. And then Kate falls off a horse and nearly dies and he carries her back. And proposes.

I think there was a wedding with the sister. I assume it did not go through because uh. He proposed to Kate. Sooooo.

Something about the Smart bestie of Penelope somehow never figuring out that she's the Lady Whistledown person.

OH AND THEN Kate says no but then yes and they kiss with fireworks.

And the new season involves some Dude named Colin, and he... is shy? But posturing as a rake or something. Not the garden tool. But a tool. But it's posturing.

Arcane Episode 2 Immediate Thoughts

WOW WOW WOW.

Ok so, there is a lot. The second episode keeps up the breakneck pace. Though some characters get this treatment more than others (Jayce). Again, I like this pace considering the time restraints on the story.

There seems to be a lot more music video style scenes/visuals in this season. It replaces montages as a way to show the audeince time passing and the state of the city. Very cool all the songs have been good so far.

Viktor seems to be a little different. That makes sense, he is affected by the Hexcore now more than ever. In League lore it is left ambiguos how much, if any, of his emotions are really him v.s. the machine. But unlike in the League lore he seems to be embracing his role as a messiah to the people in the sump. IDK how he knows how to do the healing this, I guess the Hexcore just knows. This is fine, makes sense for the story and all, though I do miss S1 Viktor so far. I'm holding my opinions till the end. Also my perceptions of these characters have no doubt been warped by fanon Viktor.

ALSO, when we were shows the giant Jinx's head statue with all the smoke in the trailer I assumed that was errected by the people of Zaun after she becomes the leader of the rebelion. but no, it's there already in the begining of S2. Silco must have built it, comisioned a giant ass statue of his little girl.

I don't really have a big thesis. Here are just some observations.

1: JAYVIK DIVORCE ERA

Jayce: "I Understand now, my place was always here, in the lab, with you. We'll make this right, together...."Viktor you're my partner"

Viktor: "Our paths diverged long ago, it was affection that held us together."

Jayvik shippers going crazy right now. And by Jayvik shippers I mean me. I am going crazy right now.

This divorce is brutal.

Yeah, thats right Jayce, now it's Viktor who's turning his back on your partnership for a woman. That woman just so happens to be dead.

Also, Viktor is full naked for most of this scene. Jayce hugs him naked. They should have stopped being cowards and shown us the package.

And to follow it immediately with Jayce calling Viktor his best friend, like in S1 with the brother comment they really have Jayce follow up the gayest sentiment you've ever heard with platonic references.

2: VI AND ENFORCERS

What is the logic behind Vi and the enforcers poisonous gassing the place she played in as a child? If it's to neutralize threats because they have gas masks, have they been gassing everywhere they go? Streets included? Also, it's already shown that most Silco supporters (Including Jinx) have gas masks on hand in season 1.

3: Twice in one episode I am shocked by Jinx's ability to hold her breath.

ok it's time for my Official Jiang Cheng Ship Opinions Post. buckle in this is gonna take a bit

Xicheng: I like it in 1 extremely specific circumstance (bonding over very similar experiences post-canon) but I've only seen that done well like. twice. NEEDS to have good characterization (also rare unfortunately) and take into account what they can and can't do as their own sect leaders with regards to courtship/marriage.

Chengqing: perfect in every way. that's it that's all I need to say.

Sangcheng: ehhhhh? Cute in Cloud Recesses summer camp era, not feasible post-canon due to irreconcilable differences in worldview and how much danger it's acceptable to put Jin Ling in.

Zhancheng: honestly I prefer this to be platonic. Hatefucking is not my jam and LWJ is Wei-Ying-sexual in canon anyway. Give Jiang Cheng a friend who is as weirdly obsessed with Wei Wuxian as he is but in a slightly different way. I want to see them coming to terms with that.

Ningcheng: again, someone just as weirdly obsessed with Wei Wuxian, but a little to the left. I don't think either one of them is ever going to look at the other and not see "the guy WWX likes better than me." Maybe someday they'll form a relationship that isn't based entirely around Wei Wuxian, but it seems kind of unlikely.

Chengyao: I'm actually coming around to this a bit recently? Again, it really needs to keep good characterization at the forefront and consider their positions as individual sect leaders, and remember that their "divorced couple energy" is part of the Guanyin Temple shitshow and not the way they would usually behave, especially for Jin Ling's sake. I want to see more fics where Meng Yao grows up with the Jiang sect so that Jiang Cheng is attached to him from the very beginning.

Mingcheng: meh. I don't really think about this ship that much because it honestly doesn't compel me at all. sorry to the mingcheng enjoyers it there I simply do not get it

Chengxuan: same as above, I don't really get this one. Their dynamic is just not that interesting to me.

Chengyi: that is a child. hard no on this one.

Miancheng: kinda cute? I like it when Jiang Cheng recruits her into the Jiang after she gives up on the Jin, it's a fun idea, but I think I like them better as friends.

Ruocheng: no. just no.

Zhucheng (chengliu? Wen Zhuliu and JC): also no.

Chengsu: I could get behind the idea of JGY desperately contacting Jiang Cheng and being like "help I just found out my fiancee is my sister can you please pretend you've been in love with her all this time and get married to her instead??? I'll negotiate to get you more Jin Ling rights if you do." she fits JC's list of desirable qualities in a wife. unfortunately she gets like 6 seconds of screen time and then dies so we really don't know very much about her, which makes it a bit hard to form a strong opinion on the ship

Other Chengsu? Sucheng/Mincheng/Chengshan/whatever this is: I actually think it's interesting that Su She and Jiang Cheng share the trait of "treat them nicely within this narrow window of time in their life in order to get them to become loyal to you forever, otherwise fuck you." It's possible that if Su She had grown up with the Jiang the two of them would have found some common ground and maybe become friends. I'm more interested in non-romantic interactions here

Cheng...yang? what do you call the Xue Yang/Jiang Cheng ship? Xuecheng? idk. again, not really my jam.

Chengjiao. Lingcheng? Jiang Cheng/Wang Lingjiao. Do people even ship this? I could see it as character development for her I guess. At this point I'm just fishing for possible pairings.

and finally, saved for last...

Xiancheng: this isn't romantic or sexual or platonic, it's all three and also a secret fourth thing that's more intense than all of them put together. As a ship, I don't prefer it, because it's too easy to flatten it out into either a boring cutesy fluffy cliche or a boring jealous/possessive boyfriend type thing. I need to see them being weird about each other in a way that no one can possibly identify, especially themselves. They'll die for each other. They'll live for each other. They'll destroy themselves and be happy about it as long as they believe that the other is going to be okay. You really can't make it as simple as "yeah these two want to fuck."

8. Angelic Ballet!

A little hesitant on this one.

So, realistically,these two would probably hate each other. Sera was the one who approved the exterminations,resulting in the death of billions of sinners, which puts Carmila and her daughters in danger. So that's not really a great way to start a relationship...

However, I think in any other circumstances,I think these two would be a nice couple.

They both just want to protect the people they love and are willing to go to extreme measures to do just that. It could be Sera realizing not all sinners are absolute monsters,and some were just people who made mistakes in life. Kinda of like Vaggie realizing the hellborn weren't terrible upon meeting Charlie.

Also, they're both very elegant ladies who need another refined woman to treat them right 😌🏳️‍🌈

yeah ok but also her brand new era is the end of her time with louis and on to her next job. When louis finishes touring, his crew needs to keep working, and they will move on to new artists. sure he might hire them again on another tour or something, but its definitely the end of an era touring with louis.

also these were her comments between her and presumably her wedding photographer. idk it doesn’t seem sad and down to me, whatsoever. I also doubt she’d be so blatantly posting about this if it was a divorce post because she knows how insane folks are about her and louis.

it could be anything from a residency with one band in one city doing their makeup consistently meaning she had to rent a house in that city, it could be her and her husband moving into a new house for the sake of it now that she may have a bit of time off, it could be anything. not everything is about these folks personal lives and it is bizarre to me why people freak out over an employee of louis’ doing her thing full stop. she’s off work, her contract’s done. Louis is still doing a few festivals but it’s not necessary that she’s there. louis will not be touring for god knows how long. it’s.. just… makes my eyes roll so fucking hard.

and look, believe what you want, freak out over what you want to, it’s not my choice to tell you what to believe. but it’s quite clear what I believe and I hope this gives you some insight into the fact that crew aren’t exclusive to louis when he’s done touring. their payrolls don’t exist. they are just crew. his friends? sure. but at the end of the day they are employees and this just makes me wanna tell anyone who believes this to write a damn fanfiction.

from my experience, there is no solid evidence to point to anything between them, her and her husband even divorcing (which if they had, that sucks for her, but it’s got NOTHING to do with louis), and louis taking advantage of an employee. it’s like some of y’all forget that these are paid contract jobs with a hierarchy, fucks sake.

Queen of Tears: Random Rant

Idk how this rant will go but I'd just say they underutilized the chemistry and potential of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Jiwon.

Starting

The show started with the banger. The comedic elements shrouding the angsty moments between a wife who loves her husband but can't express it properly and a husband who's just tired of everything and just wants to ends things with the wife without being crushed by her and his in laws.

Too many subplots

While I had my favorite supporting characters,too many subplots, villain plots and backstories kinda ruined what could have been an estranged but still in love couple rekindling the flame through communication. We saw a hint when Hong Hae In first time admitted to Hyun Woo that she was scared because of her tumor,prompting Hyunwoo to comfort her. This should have been the core plot, the journey where Hae In opens up bit by bit & Hyunwoo realizes he still wants to be the one who wants to be by Hae In's side. Yes, all of that happened but happened so fast because in the foreground something else was always going on.

Glimpses of Romance

So, you cast actors like Soo Hyun and Ji Won & then give them only one significant kissing scene in the drama while most other kissing scenes were just flashbacks from their dating era and honeymoon... Make it make sense. The drunk kiss of Hae In to Hyunwoo gave me goosebumps but doesn't count as a full fledged kissing scene.

The Yongduri bedroom scenes were good & the one where they spend time together in Hyunwoo's studio apartment was good as well. But we're talking about a married couple here. Villains got more screen time than they did.

Untapped Issues and Random Sequence of Crucial Scenes

The miscarriage of their baby 1031 & their polar opposite reactions to it caused their marriage to almost fall apart, yet this was never properly addressed. It should have taken a fold by fold in a sequence realization for Hyunwoo to how Hae In had pure adulterated love for him, how she was suffering beneath her tough exterior, how he doesn't actually want to let go of her to give their relationship another chance. But it took some stand alone, sequentially jumbled up scenes with Hae In learning Hyunwoo wanted to divorce her, losing her memories of it, Hyunwoo crying from guilt seeing her suffer. ALSO WHY CAN'T YOU GIVE MARRIED COUPLES PROPER HEART TO HEART TALK SCENES?! Hae In collapses, wakes up in the hospital and apologizes to Hyunwoo for making him suffer. Case Closed.

Why couldn't they talk about which word or what actions caused them to drift apart? Just Hyunwoo randomly mentioning one day that he used to cry alone that's why he started sleeping apart-like yeah the elements of reconciliation were put in, but they were so haphazardly put in, I kept losing track on how and why they reconciled.

Grand Ending

I feel like the beginning sequences & the ending sequence was written by one person, & the chaos in the middle was written by someone else. Ending was emotional but poetically beautiful. Loved how they tied the cinematography together. Alls well that ends well I guess.

the majority of AG characters do have very traditional family structures (ie heterosexual monogamous married parents)...there are definitely exceptions, like Josefina's father is a widower who remarries in her final book, Samantha is an orphan who is being raised by her grandmother (and her books also address adoption with Nellie and her sisters being adopted by Samantha's aunt and uncle), and then Julie and Courtney both have divorced parents (and Courtney has a stepfather as well). But I think polygamy is definitely several steps further than that, and also there are a fair amount of potential readers who have divorced or deceased parents, stepparents, or families that were formed via adoption or kinship adoption. There are way fewer modern children who have polygamist family groups, and I doubt that is a demographic that AG is interested in courting. (Interestingly, in terms of family dynamics that may be confusing or offputting to a modern audience, Josefina's father remarries her deceased mother's younger sister, which wasn't uncommon in that era but likely comes off as strange to modern children.)

In terms of other relatively common modern family dynamics that aren't represented, I don't think there are any AG characters who are children of single mothers with no dad in the picture, and there aren't any children of same-sex parents either. (Obviously, both these family dynamics would have been much less prevalent and much more socially stigmatized in the past.) Does anyone who is more familiar with some of the newly released historical figures and/or the Girl of the Years know if there are any characters who have a gay non-parental relative there? Like, idk a lot about Courtney or the twins but I see no reason why they couldn't have a gay uncle or something.
