i really love it when people here are “not normal” about the things they love. yes!! break down the scene that you’ve been obsessing over for weeks! create incredibly intricate theories based on a few throwaway lines! explain why you love this character so much—458 reasons and counting, and with visual aids! i love to see people putting their heart and soul into not being normal!!!
#this is why diversity on my dash is important to the ecosystem#i gotta see people obsessing over characters i have never heard of#it spices things up#ella yells

when people say "ok but x bug has no benefit to nature" I bet they can't even name 5 facts about the bug they're shitting on. so how could they Possibly know what its function is in the environment and if it's "useless" or not
wasps being the perfect example, I still get people saying "oh bees are cute and pollinate :) yay. but WASPS ARE EVIL and they don't contribute ANYTHING!!!" and it's like buddy. wasps pollinate too. they also control spider populations. they do a lot of great valuable things. but even if they didn't, they're still worthy of being here. I see SO much hatred toward wasps and I wish people would try to learn a little more about them.
I'm mainly talking about paper wasps here because these are common ones we run into in daily life and most commonly deemed "aggressive". but wasps have body language. and if you learn to read this language and learn how to properly act around them, things will go a lot better for you! wasps can be curious creatures and they may come up to observe you, especially if you're wearing something brightly colored. this can be startling for sure, but my best advice is to just be still, DO NOT SWAT or wave your arms. try to just back away or sidestep so it loses interest and leaves. swatting is just gonna make them feel as if they are being attacked and increase your chances of being stung.
many stings happen due to unfortunate but accidental circumstances. unknowingly getting too close to a nest, stepping on a wasp on accident, one getting stuck in clothing, etc. I got stung once while gardening, went to pull a weed and the wasp was on it, so I grabbed her without knowing and she stung me because she was scared. this doesn't mean "oh wasps are AGGRESSIVE and EVIL" it means you stumbled into an unfortunate situation where the wasps felt threatened and defensive. instead of being like "FUCK all wasps" go forward trying to learn about common nesting areas, be wary of holes in the ground, wear gloves while gardening, and if you do have to be around a nest, try not to make a lot of noise. if the nest absolutely needs removed, call a professional.
#michaelpost#bugs#insects#wasps#another bug rant post but this time i dont think people are ready to hear it#I see MORE hate lately toward wasps than I see toward spiders#and its very annoying bc wasps are an extremely diverse group of insects and have many functions and benefits#it sucks badly to see bees get adored but wasps get shit talked

getting up on my soapbox for a moment. i find it laughable that nearly every time someone says they don’t like rap they cite hamilton and k-pop as the only rap they can tolerate. because everything else is just so violent and full of blatant consumerism. first off. so is k-pop. secondly. idk how to tell you the founding fathers were some of the most violent people around (coming from a black american descentant of slaves who is most likely related to thomas jefferson. shouldn’t have to explain the relevance here). thirdly. hamilton and k-pop both reference and interpolate rap. so idk what to tell you babes. you do like rap. you just don’t like black people. say it with your full chest next time.
#it’s very funny because there’s a whole conversation about how white people treat k-pop and rap#like they are both a homogenous thing and not two very massive and diverse genres#like k-pop isn’t just pop and the idea of it being ‘purer’ is you guys infantalizing Asians#like idk I don’t think you guys hear yourselves sometimes#but that’s another conversation.#jude.txt

Sex positivity is also about not calling Ace people prude and using virgin as an insult 👍 hope that helps
#sex positivity is also respecting sex lives that dont look like yours#or lack thereof#and insulting people by saying they dont fuck make you sound stupid <3#im sorry i just cant take people who use their sex lives as a flex seriously its just not my thing!#like yea having lots of kinky sex is cool but not having sex and not being interested by sex is also cool#one is not better than the other the human experience is just very varied and diverse#its normal you wont understand everyone your brain isnt even made to comprehend how many human there are in the world#but we should all have spaces to navigate our sex lives as we wish even if that means interacting with sex as a subject as little as possibl

Transgender allegory? In my digital circus? It's more likely than you think...
Edit: I know they cannonically use any pronouns, I meant that their relationship with body dysmorphia is not about being trans. They feel uncomfortable in a body that is not theirs, and this narrative is often used by trans people to describe their discomfort with their body. In Zooble's case, they are trapped in a digital avatar. That is why I called it an allegory, since Zooble's dysphoria is not directly about being trans.
#diversity win!!! pronoun people are trapped in the digital hell too!#jokes aside i am loving how they are handling zoobles character#their apathy makes so much sense now#the amazing digital circus fan art#the amazing digital circus#tadc#tadc fanart#zooble#zooble tadc#zooble the amazing digital circus#zooble fan art#digital art#gif#transgender#nonbinary#genderqueer#genderfluid#agender#loidart

Just realising most of my grievances with popular bat fanon really boil down to "Character flaws are good and interesting actually and I don't like when you try and take them away to make the character more palatable"
#dc#dc comics#batman#batfamily#god i saw a post the other day#and it took all my might not to reblog it#bc the op was just saying their opinion#that they prefer fanon bc it makes the bats have more diverse personalities#and imo no it really really fucking doesn’t#but im 27 and mature now#(And other people already had it covered)#so i can just ignored and kept going#... until a few days later when i mention it in the tags but shhhhh

Okay, you can say you’re respecting transmascs’ gender when you kick us out of or bar us from “women’s spaces” once we transition. But consider that in many cases there aren’t other spaces for transmascs. There don’t tend to be men’s spaces to talk about gendered oppression and sexual assault — the latter of which trans men experience at a higher rate than cis and trans women. I know because I have had to create new spaces for trans men myself, using my own time and money. And it’s not easy, and I shouldn’t have to do it. I’ve strained my mental health with it; I can’t expect other transmascs to do the same in their locality.
I want you to evaluate the purpose of these spaces. If your space is specifically about discussing womanhood, that’s its own thing, though I would still ask you to consider including people with a complex relationship with womanhood due to their gender experiences and want to discuss it. But if your reason for making it a “women’s” or “women’s and non-binary” space is to make it “safe” for discussing things like queerness, misogyny, and sexual violence? I am begging you to understand that without other resources you are shutting transmascs out in the cold. Our masculinity does not make us unsafe.
#wanted to point out that most of these spaces are going to include gender diverse people anyway but didn’t know how to bring it up#transandrophobia#intracommunity issues tag#mine#long post#SA cw

I think it's important to remember that just because you find someone basic or boring or whatever, you're actually very wrong and they are a unique and layered person with their own complicated life, emotions and interests. They don't have to perform anything to show you how interesting or special they are.
That straight white girl with her stanly cup and sephora makeup doesn't have to show you what makes her 'unique'. The older gentleman who shares conspiracy theories on facebook and mows his lawn early in the morning doesn't have to prove he isn't an 'npc' to you. The woman with the 'Karen' haircut and her son who watches stupid youtube videos don't have to drop everything to demonstrate to you that they can break the stereotypes you've associated with them.
Every person is a real person. Even if you never see them do a thing other than what you expect them to do, they are just as deep and emotional as you are because they are ALIVE! They're real! And they don't owe you a tour into their lives just to prove to you that they have thoughts and feelings! Just because you lack the empathy or understanding to see that someone who doesn't share your same lifestyle, hobbies or stereotypes might actually have a rich and detailed life, doesn't mean you're right.
#if I see one more idiot call people 'NPC's I'm gonna smack them#'but all they do is follow trendsss'#you follow trends too! it's just that the trends you follow are the ones you personally think are fun!#hypocrit you are for not understanding that humanity is diverse and people can have different lifestyles and interests#don't be a fool!#stop making excuses for your own lack of empathy and start training yourself out of this dangerous habit

It’s kind of funny looking at Monsters and Girls now because it was meant to be a side hobby while I work on Bugtopia so it was just kissing and romance but as the story developed I ended up getting really interested in developing non-romantic relationships and personal character growth.
But also I’m kind of pissed because now I’m barely drawing busty women kissing. Im letting the lesbian community down 😔
#txt#but all joking aside I do end up getting in my own head about it because people are so controlling about my story#not enough men or straight people or some bullshit take about body diversity#and it’s like guys. I’m drawing this for me. for ME
