did you hear that taylor swift has endorsed kamala harris? now the swifties have been called to action trump has no chance
Thought her statement was actually pretty good. She addressed the AI video of her fake Trump endorsement and talked positively about Harris and Walz.

I promised a friend—more like I laid a bet—that I wouldn’t (gently) shit-talk Taylor Swift for two weeks if she did come out and endorse Kamala Harris. In honor of her doing so, I am keeping my promise.

from across the pond, I am loving how all of our news outlets are basically just going 'kamala kicked trump's arse so hard that he couldn't even outwit her on areas where she has weak policy, what the fuck is WRONG with him'. big congrats from over here, this truly must be a lot of fun to watch
As noted, I didn't watch the actual debate, because I can't stand to look at his stupid face or hear his stupid voice for almost any reason and especially not for 90 minutes of lies. But reading the reactions last night and this morning has been both a) heroin grade schadenfreude right to the veins and b) totally shocking in that even the likes of Fox News and the Goddamn Republican Propaganda Mouthpiece New York Times (or at least a few individual writers, I'm sure their actual story will be stupid) are acknowledging that she absolutely cosmically annihilated him and it was not close. Now we wait in vain for the sort of coordinated and hysterical TRUMP MUST DROP OUT NOW stories that carpet-bombed the media within 24 hours of Biden's performance in the first debate, but.... baby steps. Or something.
Anyway, aside from crushing him on the issues, she basically put a dog collar on him and set Roadrunner-level traps, and he charged headfirst into them every time, because he is a sociopathic narcissist who is pathologically incapable of not being baited by the most obvious taunts. She made him look like the ranting crazy old felonious treasonous buffoon that he is, which is not necessarily easy to do when you have an opponent who just loudly and constantly spews bullshit (witness how it overwhelmed Biden at the first debate). And she did it all with a smile and making it look easy while he was murdered onstage for 90 minutes, looked like she could have easily gone another 90, immediately called for a second debate, and then Taylor Swift endorsed her within 20 minutes of it ending. I mean. RESPECT.
Etc etc debates don't vote, polls don't vote, it is still a close race, all the usual caveats. But Donny Don got Spanky Spanked, everyone knows it, every idiot in the media chirping about how Kamala Has To Be Dazzling Or She’s Doomed can shut tf up because she was, and once more, all the memes and reactions just pouring scorn and mockery on Trump will hurt him as much or more than the actual spectacle of him transforming into a burning dumpster on primetime television. So. Yes. I am indeed pleased.

So after the debate between Kamala Harris and trump last night, Taylor Swift powered about how she became aware of an AI video of her endorsing trump on his site popped up. So she posted on her instagram saying she’ll be voting for Kamala, because she is a childless cat lady (a comment made by jd vance [the current vice president of trump]).
This is all fine and good, elon musk however saw this comment and did what he does best: unnecessarily and extremely awkwardly proposition a woman.
elon musk tweets out “Fine Taylor …you win …I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
Swifties if you descend upon elon musk I’ll take back every negative comment I’ve ever made about y’all and Taylor

Remember when Taylor Swift tried to SUE a blogger who called her out for refusing to condemn her white supremacist fanbase?
Yeah, you won’t catch me crawling up her ass because she did the bare minimum and endorsed Kamala Harris after a week of backlash.

Taylor Swift just endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
She was motivated to publicly do so because of an AI image that was posted to Trump's website that one of his cult members made of her endorsing him.
They're so fucking stupid. This is the second time they've shot themselves in the foot.
Let's not forget that Trump was DESTROYING Biden in the polls - especially after their debate - but Trump supporters were LOUDLY calling for Biden to drop out with trending hashtags. Then he did (thanks Nancy), and Kamala became the nominee. Now they're tied.

just thinking abou what it would be like if taylor swift tweeted “free palestine.” it would be pandemonium. they would talk about it on msnbc and fox news and cnn and npr. joe biden and kamala harris would have to say something about it. she wouldn’t even have to say “ceasefire” or “arms embargo” and it would be an international headline. her audience is so big they wouldn’t be able to make her disappear from public discourse like they did for greta thunberg when she started saying “actually capitalism is the problem”
she forced ticketmaster (an objective evil) to make a public apology! like trump, she has the power to singlehandedly shift the window of discourse and potentially affect policy but unlike trump she will not do it because her activism only goes as far as it will benefit her brand. she will endorse democrats and do nothing more
#but chris she donates to CHARITY 🥺#she is a literal billionaire and philanthropy is a scam#maybe ask why a few people have everything and many people have nothing#this applies to beyonce as well#i pick these two because their brands are ‘feminist revolution’ while also being billionaires#might be poking a hornet’s nest here#you can consume media and still be critical of it

even if the election wasn’t stolen there’s some real issues with transparency rn…. I’ve seen a helluva lot of people saying that their votes didn’t go through. If it makes me blue maga to say votes at the very least need to be recounted then fuck I guess I am blue maga 💀
no really i could talk about this shit for hours. you guys probably don’t know this but i actually am one of those autistic history “let’s play devil’s advocate 🤓” virgin losers in your history class, and i have been watching every single rally, news segment, interview, etc about this election. there are a few very real issues that back up the claim that this election was fraudulent.
(yap for those who care)
1. there is obvious russian interference. a concerning number of bomb threats called in by russia aiming at predominantly black populated counties, especially in swing states. it’s no surprise russia would be assisting trump with winning, as they have been in connection since 2020 while trump was not in office (which is illegal…)
2. so many reports of people’s ballots not being counted. go on tiktok, twitter, etc and look it up, there are literally thousands of examples of votes going undocumented, even for those who voted in person.
3. also trump supporters were just?? burning full ballot boxes??? and people are finding full boxes in the fucking woods and files falling off the back of cars that are supposed to transport votes. like what??
4. there were record turnouts to the polls this year, even upstaging 2020’s turnout. there were hundreds of thousands of new registrations created following the taylor swift endorsement, as well. so how is it that donald trump got the same amount of votes this year (even a little less than 2020) meanwhile harris lost 16 million democratic votes compared to last year?
5. no fucking shot trump won EVERY swing state. nope sorry i don’t buy that shit. because how did north carolina, a usual blue state whose citizens voted blue down the line for local politics, still turn out as a red state? this happened in other states as well.
7. trump has explicitly said incriminating shit during the campaign. he’s said things like “i’ve already got all the votes i need” and “i have a secret that’s going to help me win” and if you know anything about trump, then you know he just says he’s overt shit. this isn’t some well thought out code for something, he is just literally telling us that he has a secret that is going to get him his win.
8. speaking of trump, that man posts on truth social (his version of twitter) 178282182882 times a day. so it’s really fucking strange for him to not be gloating about his win. in fact, he barely celebrated.
9. elon musk ran a (illegal) give away that promised a million dollars a day to a random republican voter in key swing states.
10. the whole alfie oakes shit. he is a close associate and contributed to donald trump, he was involved in the insurrection at the capitol and he’s just heavily involved with maga and trump as a whole. his house just got raided by law enforcement and they seized a shit ton of documents and his laptop. there is a chance this is election related as well.
okok i’m done but remember democrats, you’re not crazy for questioning the legitimacy of this election, because lord knows if even 1% of this shit happened and kamala harris won, the conservatives would literally shit their diapers and cry and bitch and moan for another 4 year. this is nothing compared to the dramatics of maga on january 6th 2021, this is just us exercising our 1st amendment right to question something that warrants questioning.

Madison Square Garden Trump Rally
Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe
Hillary Clinton warned Trump’s event tonight would be a reenactment of a 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden. What actually unfolded was one of the most patriotic events America has ever witnessed.
The evening started off with a bang when comedian Tony Hinchcliffe explicitly stated the Democratic Party is looking “more and more like a P. Diddy party” after Kamala Harris received a wave of “crazy endorsements” from the likes of Enimen, Beyonce, and Leonardo DiCaprio, and Taylor Swift.
In an act of pure bravery, Hinchcliffe took on Hillary Clinton, warning the audience that if he somehow ends up committing “suicide” in the next couple of weeks, “[he] didn’t.”
"Hillary Clinton said that this is a Nazi rally here today. Can you believe that?” he asked. The star of “Kill Tony” lamented that Clinton calls Trump “Hitler” when he’s “the most anti-war president of [his] lifetime.”
"Let me remind you, Hillary, it was your husband who shot innocent people, or as he called them, interns," Hinchcliffe rebuked.
“Yeah, Hillary, I bet you did not see that one coming.”
Tucker
The crowd went wild when Tucker Carlson issued a stunning rebuke to the ruling class, saying, “You are not better than us. No, you are not smarter than us. No, you do not deserve what you have. You probably stole it.”
He explained, “The big lie is that they're impressive. That's what the big lie is that the people in charge have somehow earned the right to rule over you, and they haven't.”
No fair system would make Liz Cheney powerful. No fair system would make Larry Fink rich. No fair system would elevate someone like Kamala Harris to a presidential nomination,” Carlson declared.
Elon Musk
Musk was asked, “How much do you think we can rip out of this wasted $6.5 trillion Harris-Biden budget?”
His response was stunning: “Well, I think we can do at least $2 trillion.”
Musk epically told the packed audience at Madison Square Garden, “We're going to get the government OFF your back and OUT of your pocketbook!”
“All government spending is taxation. So whether it's direct taxation or government spending, it either becomes inflation or it's direct taxation,” Musk explained.
“Your money is being wasted, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is going to fix that.”
America's not just going to be great. America is going to reach heights that it has NEVER seen before,” Musk continued. “The future is going to be AMAZING!”
The crowd responded with thunderous chants of “ELON! ELON! ELON! ELON!”
Musk then urgently called on every freedom-loving American to vote and encourage their friends and family to do the same, aiming for a margin of victory “so big that you know what can’t happen.”
He called on voters to deliver a “massive overwhelming sweep of every swing state. And even some of the states that aren't people don't think are swing states.
“Massive, crushing victory,” Musk reiterated. “Get everyone, friends, family, people on the street [to vote]. Put the signs up; put the hat on. Let's go!”

I've been fretting for a few weeks over Taylor's silence and the growing online frustration—even among Swifties! It has all been especially difficult as I fall deeper and deeper in love with The Tortured Poets Department, which I listen to daily and is most definitely my current musical happy place like a warm blanket that protects me from all the crap going on in the world. I was really starting to worry that my hero wasn't going to be properly heroic and then BOOM! She just knocked it out of the park. The debate was so painful to watch (because 2 hours of listening to that moron is not good for my soul), but Kamala did an amazing job, and then for it to wrap up with Taylor's endorsement was just wonderful. I watched the debate with my Dad, and it was actually him who showed me Taylor had endorsed her (I think he got a NYT alert about it on his phone!) and when I expressed how relieved I was, and how I felt it had come a little late, he cleverly pointed out that he thought the timing was perfect. Kamala has been riding the wave of excitement since Biden dropped out, and Taylor's endorsement is definitely something that can have an impact, so her saving it until a little later to give Harris a bit of a boost as the initial wave dies down was honestly perfect. She also used the opportunity to address the gross AI stuff Trump did a few weeks ago, promote responsible voting thru being informed, and remind young voters about getting registered. AND to top it all off she even used the Childless Cat Lady thing like a total boss. I'm gonna listen to TPD even more today! Today's girlcrushart guardian is Taylor Swift.

The convenient timing of Taylor Swift's endorsement
I'm expecting to be lambasted for this one. But I can take it.
I have a hell of a lot of respect for @mishacollins. Anybody who stands by their convictions even when they are being criticized for them by their fanbase is basically a unicorn in my opinion. He's clearly very passionate about Politics, has his own views and won't bow to others if he's being shouted at, and I really respect him for that.
Which is what the original purpose of this blog was going to be. In essence, I was going to say how it's so important to have celebrities like him talking about their political views to change the narrative in this election, no matter how unpopular they are. And it's frustrating more celebrities can't use their platform like him to do good in this election.
But this morning I read his Facebook post gushing about Taylor Swift's endorsement and my initial thought was 'oh Misha. Why?' And it changed the direction of this blog.
Now whilst I appreciate it is a really important thing that Taylor Swift has thrown her endorsement behind Kamala Harris, can we just talk about the timing of her statement?
Taylor Swift is a woman with unimaginable wealth, and because of this she is able to hire a team of people around her that will be able to keep her appraised of anything in the media that is going to harm her image.
So I find it a little suspect that she claims to have only just found out about the AI images circulating of her endorsing Trump a couple of weeks ago. Yes, she has been on tour, and there have obviously been some horrific incidents associated with her name (the attack in the UK and the foiled terrorist attack), however I can't believe she only just found out.
Even if she mentioned in her statement she didn't want to speak out because of these incidents, that would have felt less disingenuous then saying 'I just found out.'
The second thing, is there has been some negative press surrounding her and the photos with Brittany Mahomes. Personally, I don't care who she's friends with. That's her business. But obviously it isn't a good look being friends with somebody who does seem to be in the Trump camp, especially when you are considered to be a firm friend of the LGBTQIA+ community and ultimately fans see you as a 'feminist icon.'
So to come out with her endorsement just a couple of days after people have been picking up on that, it's just incredibly convenient and feels like a way to get her fans, who were starting to question her back on side.
The third is, she could have endorsed Kamala right at the start. But let's be honest, she wasn't the most popular candidate when she first took over the campaign. It almost feels like she waited to see how popular she would be after the debate before going ahead and posting her endorsement.
One thing I will give her though, as a childfree cat lady, I did find her sign off quite good.
Anyway, those are my thoughts, and vote Kamala Harris in November.

I appreciate her telling her fans to vote, and that she got a lot of attacks from Republicans for it.
But I really wish Taylor Swift would just outright endorse Harris.
Dick fucking Cheney just endorsed Kamala Harris, NOBODY gets to sit this one out.
Seriously- you going to tell me that you are less liberal, and did less to stop Trump, than DICK CHENEY?
