Different anon, what capture card do you recommend? My Elgato brand one won't show anything when I connect any of my devices, and since Twitch got rid of the easy stream thing I can't get anything to go right.

I don’t use a capture card because I stream from my PC but have previously used Elgato and didn’t have any issue. Are you connecting it properly/have you installed the right drivers from Elgato’s website?

Hey Aye! Long-time follower who's mad jealous of your streaming abilities, and I wanted to ask: how does one start to stream? I've recently been fired from my job as a public librarian (long story) and want to do a streaming channel with my mom where I watch her play Zelda games and get mad at her unfamiliarity. But idk how to set that up. Any advice welcome <3 please and thank you!!!

There’s a whole bunch of follow up questions but basically you’ll want to decide which platform you want to stream on (I’m most familiar with Twitch streaming) and then go through the process to start streaming.

This will be initial account setup, sorting out a microphone (with optional webcam) and then figuring out how to stream Zelda - if it’s on a PC emulator then you can do it from your PC with OBS (Open Broadcasting Software), if it’s from Switch then you’ll most likely need a capture card first before hooking that up.

General advice - It doesn’t need to be (and won’t ever be) perfect. I have had more technical difficulties than I can count and I’ve never met anyone with the exact same technical issues as me.

Also remember to have fun! Don’t chase views/followers because it leads you down a frustrating path!

I don’t think we should underestimate how much of the UK’s current situation stems from social media - particularly Facebook and Twitter.

I should not be seeing every bit of local news from England, and the fact I do regularly means that right wing people from across the UK are definitely able to infiltrate local groups and spread misinformation.

None of what I’m saying is new or rocket science, but I think there’s not enough people actually clued in to how the far right operate online. Identifying the tactics and pointing them out are a key part of the battle.

How do you find out about counter-protests like Saturday in advance? I would have gone but only found out about it on Friday and had work the next day

I only caught there was a counter protest a few days before as well, it wasn’t particularly well advertised and there was a few operational things on the day that probably should have been changed.
