hi guys, there's been a donation scam recently with a person pretending to be a palestinian diabetic needing money for insulin - they keep making accounts under different names and aren't verified although they say they are, PLEASE don't pay them anything nor fall for it/share it, i've seen some moots and people i follow share it already (i did too a couple days ago but i just got the EXACT. WORD FOR WORD same ask with the sender having a completely different name than the first one hence why i found out it's a scam)

their current @ is @atomicollectorladdy HOW FUCKING DARE YOU exploit a genocide that's killing people as i write this? this is genuinely the nastiest shit someone can ever do GET FUCKED and burn in hell

This is the new name being used for the paypal. It is likely a new account, as this person has been reported to paypal multiple times. When I first found the twitter source, they were using a paypal that had already been shut down, so they've been doing this scam on twitter for even longer than on tumblr.

Except their pinned post was exactly the same as the one I reposted before. No progress on the money either. Almost certainly a scam, watch out.

'She' (we don't know who this person really is) then proceeded to find my fucking email through that, and my paypal, where she requested $50 DOLLARS for 'gas and food and stuff heheheheh' what the fuck?

I noticed the account seems to only have been active for about 3 days which is about as old as the thing asking for donations. I am also unsure how verification for Paypal works as far as donations. I don't really have any money so I don't have much reason to look into it too much. I just find it a bit odd on the age and the very little history of the blog. If you're going to donate then I suggest looking into things about the account and stuff. Maybe if you have more knowledge on paypal then see if it's well verified and stuff. I've seen many scummy scams in the past and wouldn't be too surprized if there was like donation scams around the stuff in Gaza. I don't know if this one here is a scam or just someone who made a Tumblr account and had something bad happen as soon as they made it. All I'm saying is just be a bit careful and check stuff around it. ------------------------------------------------------- To the asker: If you're able to then please give more proof if you're able. I am unsure if I can trust you or not. I pretty much nothing to work off of to figure out whether or not you're scammer.

DISCLAIMER: These fundraisers mostly aren’t vetted by any reliable bloggers or organizations, or I haven’t been able to find proof of vetting for them. Hello, I got an ask from the account @/ magicalbirddinosaur who claims to be a diabetic Palestinian. They only have a paypal listed, and I'm pretty sure you've debunked accounts very similar to this. I get bad vibes from the ask, but I figure it's better to check first

Scam. Their paypal name "Taheera Abdala" is already on the scam list. But just for good measure, here's some other proof they're a scam:

They claim to be "vetted and verified by 90s-ghost" but there is no evidence of this, and 90s-ghost has not reblogged from them or verbally confirmed them to be legitimate at all. Scammers were already lying about being vetted, but now they're lying by name dropping random Palestinian users doing the vetting, so let that be a reminder to check to see if a blogs claim of being vetted is true and corroborated by who they claim "vetted" them. If you see nothing, and this blog provides no evidence of their claim, assume it's not true.

Additionally, their @ of 90s-ghost doesn't link to his blog, which means either A) he's already blocked them or vice versa & so he can't confirm or deny if he's actually vetted them or not, and/or B) they made sure the link didn't properly work so that he won't see it again, so that he can't confirm or deny if this random person has actually been vetted.

Conveniently have me blocked already despite me never interacting with them lol

Their pfp is literally from this website where they probably googled "Muslim girl face hidden" because that's the page is was listed under

Common scam story of claiming to be a diabetic Palestinian, indicating that this is probably the Kenyan scammer who keeps reusing that story

They have no gofundme but has a paypal where they're asking for money in USD, and it's in a donation pool, which scammers try to use because the other type of link where they give their @ usually shows their ACTUAL location, which would make their story implausible. There's other (logical) reasons for why genuine Palestinians might use a paypal or ask for donations in USD or might not have a gfm, but with the other signs on this blog, we can tell they wouldn't apply

Please be aware there are no official tumblr blogs associated with this fundraiser currently by the one who made it, so if you got this as an ask it’s from a scam account using a PayPal that isn’t affiliated to this person or related to them.

PALESTINIAN FAMILY HAVING TO START OVER.

@ahedalshaer is a 22-year-old dentistry student who was in her fourth year studying at Al-Azhar University in Ghazza, she was working hard to achieve her goal to become a dentist before the occupation came and halted her from furthering her education in peace.

This campaign is supporting seven people, Ahed, her parents and her siblings. Ahed’s campaign was at 9% of their goal but she unfortunately had to close down her previous campaign due to the person managing it scamming her and her family and running off with the money. They’re back at square one and they are EXTREMELY low on donations right now, the most recent donation was just a day ago, this family desperately needs you to help them survive.

Ahed’s parents are both ill. Her father is diabetic, and her mother is suffering from chest infections and due to the targeted bombing on hospitals they literally cannot get access to the healthcare they need right now. With how expensive everything is in Ghazza we have no idea how long they can go on for. They have to live in a tent with disease ridden insects and the tent barely protects them from the scorching heat that makes them feel like they’re being cooked alive and the approaching winter.

All this family wants is to return to a peaceful life and evacuate to a safer place, please do anything you can to support them whether that be by donating, reblogging or making a post of your own, it could help a ton!! It doesn’t matter how little your donation is because it WILL have an impact, it could help them buy food for the day or help them purchase heavier clothing and blankets for the winter, it could help them evacuate.
