All my shifts so far to my 1st year twst dr - Storytime post

Set two years in the past, when 3rd years in twisted wonderland canon are 1st years just starting at Night Raven College.

I hope that makes sense.

1: While I was listening to a subliminal and grounding myself in my dr, I picked up on the sound of snoring coming from behind me and focused on that until I felt grounded.

Opening my eyes, I was staring at a somewhat unfamiliar wall - I knew I recognised it but didn't know where it was from until I looked to the side.

It's safe to say this served as somewhat of a jumpscare because I didn't expect to see a sleeping Leona Kingscholar next to me.

So turns out I was in his bedroom - I remembered that I was there to ask about something for a project, but he was asleep. As expected. Not surprised.

And yes, for those who want to know facts like these, Leona sleeps shirtless.

As this was my first time shifting to this dr, I was just kinda like, "huh, weird, I didn't know I was on good terms with Leona," and then shifted back.

2: I had scripted that we go on a camping trip in the second week and of school and decided for the night that I wanted to shift there, so I listened to a subliminal for maybe 20 minutes before arriving in my dr.

Right, so context, in this dr - I'm a fallen angel sort of thing, therefore I have large wings that take up a fuckton of space.

I open my eyes and I'm on the bottom bunk of a bunkbed in the cabin I share with Vil and Cater. My eyes are only half open because I'm tired as hells from the drive to the campground.

Cater, bless his heart, is trying to get me out of bed because I refuse to get up (like - no, Cater, I can't function at 6am in the morning!). I have no idea what he was trying to do here - drag me off with force? I doubt he could, I'm a lot more muscular than he is.

Either way, he trips over one of my wings (I was laying on the edge of the bed, with one wing awkwardly pressed against the wall and the other tilted towards the floor) and pulled me down with him.

Now, Vil had placed a multitude of skincare and makeup supplies on a nearby table and I promptly fell into it/on top of Cater and knocked half of them off, shattering them.

Vil had been applying makeup in the mirror, when he heard the sound of our fuckery and turned around.

He is SO intimidating. Like. Oh my god. He scowled at me like a disappointed parent and then started cussing me out. I guess first year Vil is far more prone to cursing.

I pointed out that is was also Cater's fault (sorry buddy) and Vil just rolled his eyes at me. Unbelievably sassy. Smh Vil stop picking favourites.

It honestly gave me a small headache.

I shifted back before we left the cabin.

3: I scripted that Azul was in this year because he's a sweetheart (well... he's sweet to me. He still scams people, of course) and I want to see my wife <3 Also sidenote, she's bigender in my dr and uses she/he pronouns so I sometimes use she/her for him.

I spawned into the Mostro Lounge, at a nice booth with leather couches to sit in and a mahogany wooden table.

I already had a glass of sparkling water in front of me and was just looking around the restaurant, trying to find Azul.

She walked past me carrying a tray of drinks and winked at me before he continued serving tables (ah... my dumb gay heart <3). Once he was finished up, she returned to my table and sat opposite me, grabbing my hand and squeezing it before asking what I wanted to eat.

I'm fairly sure I was about to explode from being too flustered so I shifted back.

You've probably noticed I shift back a lot - and yeah, I do. I get overwhelmed easily and I always know I can return so it simply doesn't bother me.

4: I'm not completely sure if this was this dr or some random one, since Silver was present. I believe it was this dr, just in the future, when I'm a second year and Silver is starting at NRC.

I was sitting on a bench in the courtyard (near that apple tree) and was just on my phone, texting people via Magicam. I looked up and Silver was awkwardly standing in front of me.

His stance is identical to the standing person emoji. 🧍It was rather hard not to laugh out loud. My humour is fucked.

I turned off my phone and faced him, asking if he needed anything. He explained that he'd gotten lost trying to find the mirrors to get to Diasomnia.

Me, being an upperclassman in Diasomnia who's very nice and not at all regarded as scary by most of the student populace, said sure and lead him back to our dorm.

Unfortunately I didn't meet Malleus or Lilia. Sebek wouldn't be at NRC yet.

These ones are dreams I had related to this dr.

1: I had a dream where I was preparing for my birthday party and Lilia was letting me use some clothes from his closet. I appreciate him so much for this - his fashion sense is impeccable. I love it.

I went to my birthday party looking like a punk rock femboy. 10/10.

2: After I shifted and saw Leona, I had a dream a few weeks later where the two of us where talking in some sort of place with tawny beige walls and designs scrawled onto them like runes.

It was dark except for the torches of fire clipped to the wall by metal, which illuminated the space enough to see things.

Leona - fuck my life - was shirtless again. (Please, why is this a reoccurring theme?) this time because he was showing me back tattoo's that he has.

Admittedly, they were very cool. Or, I remember feeling like they look cool - I don't remember what they looked like.

There was a tattoo on his bicep as well.

3: After getting cussed out by Vil in my shift, I had a dream that was him with a sparkly purple aura giving me a death stare.

And that's all in this dr so far. I got bored of it and made my necromancer and butterfly knight twst dr's which I currently find more fun than this.

The last time I shifted here was November 2024.

the way that carmy made the best meal sydney has ever had and he just had a feeling on a whim to make it his own instead of the sanitized, stripped down and "othered" version that was basically stolen from him by his boss ("you know this is my dish now right"). he said "fennel allergy" when we know from the very first time that sydney cooked the family meal in the pilot episode and she made a fennel salad that he just made it up! the whole episode builds up how his boss has been insulting him and stripping his individuality away from his dish and you can tell he doesn't like it and you can tell that he thinks something is missing from the stolen dish and you can tell that he doesn't like serving what he's serving. so the one time that he follows his instincts and makes it how he wanted it and has it served that way is for sydney? and it was the best meal she ever had?? the bear is a love story!!

OMG this Pile has the strongest old school vibe. It feels very romantic in the sense of what you’d expect from it as depicted in movies, books and other forms of literature XD It’s open, honest, straightforward, without any pretences. Destiny 2 is a story about love and hope and resilience in the face of adversity, fighting against fascism and all-consuming entropy by building community and locking hands w people you once called your enemies because you find out you were fighting the same thing all along. it's a beautiful story full of charming characters and this tolkienesque fantastic hopefulness set in a post-apocalyptic backdrop, an ostensibly sci-fi world written with fantasy tropes and conventions. however it is trapped inside of a game that, while i genuinely think it is a really good game, does not attract the sort of playerbase that would actually appreciate the story it's telling.

I love it when Destiny takes time to show the smaller moments of the universe.

Eido nerding out over preserving culture, people celebrating the Festival of the Lost, baking cookies when the temperature drops, Zavala knitting, Osiris and Saint being tender, random guardians and their friends that we might never get another lore entry on, guardians who we get a handful of lore entries for their shenanigans, conversations about beliefs between characters we know and love, and so, so much more.

In the face of tremendous loss and pain, there are always moments of unconquerable joy and love, even if they are brief. Love can be found in every tale, every crevice, and every event in Destiny despite despairing circumstances and it wins. Maybe not immediately, maybe long after the lovers have perished to their situations, but it always triumphs. It’s seeds always burst through an inhospitable soil to grow into the shade others will lay under, resting their heads upon a person they would propagate a whole forest for.

It is the small moments like finding unlikely companions, enjoying a deeply brewed tea, or collecting candy on holidays that keeps people fighting for the ability to experience such delights.

Destiny is about a universe of people who will choose to survive and endure no matter the cost. It is the assuring sight of different species of children playing in the streets of the Last City that people will suffer time and time again to protect. It is the thought that there will always be a precious experience in life awaiting in the future that makes people want to even keep the very POSSIBILITY of suffering.

Eris has saved the universe to bring justice to her fireteam, protect humanity, and save the ones she loves like Ikora, Mara, and Drifter. That is enough.

Misraaks has helped us in our endeavors to protect Sol for his people and Eido, to see them prosper and grow. That is enough.

Some guardians may fight just to bring in enough glimmer to enjoy a drink at a tavern. That is enough.

Some people right after the Collapse may have continued on because they didn’t know what else to do, they didn’t know why they had it in their spirit to continue on upon a charred Earth. That is enough.

These are all enough to warrant the continuation of a universe that allows for these possibilities. These are enough and more to fight for with bleeding callouses and busted knuckles.

It is moments so fleeting and small that leave such an impression on us that we will fight against odds so enduring and large. We fight for justice, for hope, for good food, for the smell of blossoms in Spring.

We will do it over and over again for it is our right to determine our fates, no matter the indifference we receive from the universe itself and no matter the wants of those who equate the small to be inconsequential.

Random concepts I really liked in The Final Shape:

The Traveler doesn’t interfere because it believes that deciding peoples’ purposes for them is tyrannical and cruel. I think that’s a really interesting way to think about divinity.

Cayde wishing he hadn’t come back from the dead not just because he was at peace, but because the people he loved had gotten closure grieving him and now he’s fucking them up all over again.
