Five Hargreeves liked planning his day out. He hated when it didn’t go right, and sadly, being him. That’s most of his days. But, when he planned to go to the lil cafe a round the corner. He was not expecting to see a new Barista. He took a liking to your appearance instantly. He loved the way your eyes were so focused, your teeth chewing on the bottom half of your lip. He took his normal spot on the counter and you looked at him. ‘Hello! What can I get for ya?’, you smiled at him. You instantly put all your attention to him. He had an amazing jaw line and was generally very handsome. ‘Coffee please, Black.’ He said, he caught your eyes and his breath hitched. ‘Coming right up for ya, sir.’ You replied and gave him a smirk that fit your face perfectly. He had a bit of a blush appear on his face at what you called him. You turn around to make his coffee and he just looks at you. Once you turn around he mustered up courage to talk to you. ‘Thanks, er, are you new here?’ He asked after taking a sip of his coffee. ‘Why? Is it that bad?’, you tease and raised one eyebrow and smiled. ‘No, that’s not it, I come here everyday, I’ve never seen you around.’ He replied, you hum and move your left hand to hold your face up, ‘Yes, I am. My names [Name]. Nice to meet you uh-‘, you look at him. And he caught on and cleared his throat. ‘Hargreeves. Five Hargreeves.’ He said and he held his hand out for a handshake. You accepted and shook his hand. ‘I’m honored to meet you Hargreeves.’ You grin and his lips curved up ever so slightly. He drank his coffee and then paid for it. ‘Leaving so soon?’ You frown and looked at him. ‘I’ll be back tomorrow, don’t your fret, sweetheart.’ He hummed and walked out of the coffee shop, a small bit of swagger trailing after his strut.

so i just came to the realization that the Hargreeves probably never got a proper education, like not even homeschool.

like genuinely thinking about it none of the umbrellas had jobs that would require a proper education (other than Allison but i’m pretty sure she canonically used her rumor to get her career started?)

in season 1, Luther lives and is on the moon (sent by reggie), Diego is a vigilante but actually works as a janitor for the spare room in a boxing gym, Allison used her rumor for her acting jobs, Klaus is straight out of rehab and i’m pretty sure never confirmed where they lived?, Five was at the commission, Ben is dead, and Viktor works as a violinist and lives in an ok apartment.

even in season 2, Luther works as a bodyguard/boxer and I think lives in a hotel, Diego is in a psyche ward, Allison is a house wife, Klaus lives in a mansion that was given to them, Five i’m pretty sure just stays at Elliot’s, Ben is still dead, and Viktor lives on the farm as a Nanny.

it’s so weird cuz i never thought about how they were probably never actually taught ‘normal’ things from Reggie, Grace, and Pogo just superhero training

Five’s character development went down the drain

Sloan and Luther got no closure whatsoever

They start the same shit up and now they fucking kill themselves?

i finished season 4 of the umbrella academy a few days ago, after re-watching my beloved season 2 i’ve come up with thinks i liked and disliked about the season

so here is my rant.

Liked/noticed:

- Both Brellie ben and Sparrow ben died Because of Jennifer. imagine no matter what timeline your in you die because of your heart, brellie ben wanted to save her and not blow her up, sparrow ben wanting to feel seen and belong to somthing/someone (i love brellie and sparrow ben so much ill rant about him later dw)

- LUTHERRR went from being a Luther disliked to a Luther lover- he’s so silly omg i can’t-

- KLAUS MY BELOVED (that’s it a just loved seeing klaus will rant about what i didn’t like soon)

- Jean & Gene- before you say anything. THEY MATCHED EACH OTHERS FREAKS SO WELL

(when will i find somone who match’s my freak they way they match each others?)

- KLAUS AND CLAIRE OMG MY BABYS I CANT- HES THE BEST UNCLE 😭

Klaus' new powers are shown for a second and then for the rest of the season he's basically reduced to a prostitute, ruining all the anticipation of seeing his true strength that has been building up since season 2 and he lost all of his self improvement

why in the hell was Lila shooting laser from her eyes? where did that power come from?

oh yeah! AND WHATS THE DEAL WITH LILA AND FIVE? IT HAD NOTHING TO SO WITH THE PLOT AT ALL

AND WHILE IM ON THIS TOPIC WHY DIDNT DEIGO STUTTER WHEN HE FOUND OUT?

AND HE SAID LILA HATED BRACELETS (and traded on he got her for a Dyson vacuum) BUT SHE KEPT THE ONE FORM THE ASYLUM AND WORE IT FOR THE WHOLE OF SEAOSN 2 (AND MAYBE 3?) MAYBE DEIGO JUST HAS BAD TASTE IN BUYING BRACLETS?

Prompt: Overstimulation (The autistic kind)

Trigger Warnings: vague descriptions of being overstimulate, mentions of the Franknel footage/doomsday

Summary: Between the prison break, Diego's strange siblings, and everything else going on, it's no wonder that you get so overwhelmed.

Of all the places you had ever run away to hide to when the world got too loud, and your feelings too intense, you had to admit that Elliotts dark room was one of the best.

This strange world Diego had dragged you into when you went with him after the mental hospital was just too much for you. His young older brother, Elliott and his alien theories, and that strange movie footage...

As if the escape hadn't already been overwhelming enough.

You'd tried to keep it all in. To keep all the things screaming inside you locked up tight.

But that footage of President Kennedy was the last straw.

Elliott's dark room was a welcome safe haven, where you could rock all you pleased, let out all your feelings, and ignore the brothers arguing outside.

The door creaked open and you froze, looking up to find Diego in the doorway.

"What are you doing?"

"I-" You grasped at straws, trying to find the right words, "I just-"

He just stayed there, looking down at you with a strange amount of patience that you could never get used to.

Your hand flapped around near your head, "I get all weird inside- like I'm all empty- floaty? But too much- and I just-"

Without a word, Diego stepped inside the room fully, shutting the door carefully behind him, and dropping down to sit beside you on the floor.

Why was he here? Why did he keep looking at you like that? Unable to help it, you began to rock back and forth again. "Sorry..."

Diego's brow furrows, "You don't need to apologize. What's going on? You can talk to me."

"I just- it's a lot, that whole-....." You shrugged, running your hands over your thighs, "And it was already a lot. And I do this stupid thing when it's all a lot cause I'm just.... I dunno, something's not right with me- with my brain."

You sighed, staring off at the cabinet on the other side of the room.

Diego bumped his shoulder with yours, "Hey. I don't think there's anything wrong with you. I think people are stupid."

"You don't understand- it's like my brain is wrong, Diego-" You broke off, suddenly fighting back tears, "I mean that whole- home movie thing- doomsday- What if this is just me getting too wrapped up in my head again? Maybe-"

"Stop," His voice was firm, but gentle, and you couldn't help but turn to look at him, "Do you believe there are things in this universe that we aren't meant to understand?"

You sniffed wetly, "I think there's a lot of things I don't understand."

"Okay, well-"

"Like people. Why do they always say things they don't mean?"

Diego nodded, reaching forward to take your hand gently, "Like people. We don't have to understand shit about it for it to be real, right? Doesn't make us crazy, or mean something's wrong with us."

You tried to blink away the tears, unable to stop a few from escaping.

"That home movie," Diego reached up, brushing the stray tears away gently with his thumb, "It's just that. It's like people. Okay?"

You nodded, suddenly shifting to wrap your arms around him fiercely, "Thank you. I'm sorry."

After a moment of shock, his arms moved to hold you in return, "Don't apologize. Anytime you need me, I'm here. If you wanna go sitting around in dark closets, you go for it, okay? I've got your back."
