As I suspected, we are seeing Snake's cinematic records as his soul is collected. What's surprising is this appears to be a reaper we've never seen before. I think they have dreadlocks?!? Neat! I wonder if we will ever see this reaper again.

We can see that he was 18 years old, as he was born March 15, 1871 and dies December 9, 1889. According to a fan translation on Discord, his mother's name was something like Sarah Campbell, and she was an actress.

The reaper is saying "no remarks" or "remarks: none", so they are just preparing to stamp it COMPLETE.

It's important that it's only December 9th, because that means my theory for the contract end date is still working: December 13, 1889, which is the date before our earl's 14th birthday. It's also a Friday the 13th, which marks his father's birthday and his paternal grandmother's death. His Aunt Francis/Frances might also have been born on a Friday the 13th. It's oddly fitting if our earl also dies on one.

The reason I got out of bed today

In the cold December air beneath a gray sky, a group of students and citizens gathered once again in the street today. Cars, trams and busses all stopped and opened their doors. People left public transport, some drivers stepped out to stand by their vehicles. Only one car horn was heard, far down the street, and only once. People in the crowd are pulling out their student IDs and raising them in the air.

At eight minutes to noon, the exact time the canopy of the newly renovated train station in Novi Sad collapsed, silence takes hold, and we stand. Our breath mists the air, my mother sniffles next to me. I sniff too. For fifteen minutes, one for each victim, the silence stretches, uninterrupted. It is deafening.

Then, with quiet applause, people slowly disperse. Traffic resumes soon after.

Tomorrow I will bring my own student ID.

2024 Spanish National Figure Skating Championships FD

Olivia and Tim's Dune FD is so good, they might have trouble topping it for the Olympics. it's one of the best FDs this season - it looks fresh, the lift positions are unique, and now that they've gelled more, their combined experience is showing

Val/Kazimov's FD is to the W.E. soundtrack- it's pretty, it's lyrical, it's been skated to a lot before, feels like a nice program to grow that expressive side of them. at times they're not yet on the music or looking like they hear it

Athena and Eric did really well today - performance and expression-wise they looked confident. they have some levels to address, but they're progressing well this season - i wonder when we get to see them again, if they're doing any of the European senior B's early next year. she's a sunbeam, and they seem to have a nice friendship

Been procrastinating on my Thing A Day posts again - this time for over a week, which I'm mostly blaming on obsessively playing Timberborn and Planet Crafter rather than getting other things done (such as doing Christmas baking, which I have yet to do any of).

Things I know I've done in the last week and a half: laundry, partial cleaning of the upstairs bathroom, some tidying and reorganization in both my bedroom and the room where my computer is, baked bread. Got downtown to the pharmacy and refilled prescriptions. Most of the way through crocheting another scarf.

Suppers from this same time period, which I'm only able to remember this far back since I'm currently keeping a food diary for a while so I'm more aware of what I'm eating throughout the day (it's definitely helping me to cut back on carbs as snacks):

Dec 7 - Tuna rice with green peas.

Dec 8 - Grilled cheese sandwich, apple strudel (just me for supper so made a lazy meal)

Dec 9 - Beef stewed with onions and mushrooms, served with boiled potatoes, steamed carrots, and green peas.

Dec 11 - Chicken strips with potatoes hashed in duck fat with sweet peppers, corn, and green onions
