Did you hear about the q&a with the devs? Apparently they’re adding in side quests for dating and a new vampire character and tbh I’m looking forward to it. Chiara’s side quest was great and I’m a fan of monsters in general. Who knows, maybe they’ll add a ghost friend

Don’t they already have side-quests for dating? I heard about the Q and A but I didn’t wind up seeing it. But I don’t understand that part - if that refers to Quests, then that was how dating initially started and is still going. If that was about the mini-game to level up characters...I mean, we’ve already got that now as well. It’s been released. So what would that be about? Also, I am chuckling as I realize that they’re implementing even more to do with Dating. I swear, Jam City likes Dating more than the fandom does at this point.

Anyway, I am the most excited about the announcement of the Vampire character, by far. Like you said, they really rolled a winner with Chiara’s character and the quests that feature her. I think they could tell a compelling story about a vampire character. Nothing could ever top Serana Volkihar, but perhaps this new vampire could rival the likes of Chiara in their story. I assume it will be a new character but perhaps it won’t be. My anons and I have talked about an AU where Chiara inadvertently infected Ismelda with Lycanthropy. Imagine if one of the existing characters is bitten by a Vampire and must now deal with that? I’m pretty excited to see how they’ll play this...but a little nervous as well.

Jam City’s character writing is the strongest suit, but what holds them back is their hesitancy to stray too far from the canon. Example: They showed off Tonks’ Patronus because it’s been confirmed on Pottermore to be a Jackrabbit at this point. But I promise you, they will never show someone like say, Moody, casting a Patronus. Because his animal has never been revealed. Theoretically, that means that they could have it be any animal they choose. But in reality, the writers take that to mean that they can’t use any animal. They don’t have that problem with someone like Tonks, or an OC they created like Rakepick, they’ll freely reveal her Patronus. But not Moody, not Bill or Charlie, etc. They’re afraid to build upon the canon. And that worries me because we know so little about how Vampires actually work in the Potterverse. All we really know is that they’re more socially accepted than Werewolves, if they can attend Slughorn’s parties and have special candy that is sold for them.

EDIT: Future Weasley-Adoptee here to make an amendment. I did not realize at the time that I wrote this last part that Jam City playing it safe like this was pretty much the condition upon which Rowling/Warner Bros allowed them to make this game. It is what it is, and it's honestly not their fault.

I would love it if they added a ghost as a friend too, but I dunno if we can expect that. After all, they had the perfect chance to do it. They could have added Moaning Myrtle to the Friend List after the Deathday Party. Unless we get a sequel to that Quest next Halloween, Flying Solo style, I think that ship has sailed. It’s not like it would have been that jarring to have Myrtle, not after they gave us Dobby, right? I guess given her nature, they would have to do some programming work to have her not actually consuming any sandwiches or butterbeer, and I suppose she couldn’t play Gobstones...but hey, there are always the club games! She could turn up to any of the three clubs! Apart from Myrtle, there’s always Duncan Ashe. But I actually don’t expect him to ever be added, certainly not after Year 5. I’ve talked about this before but I think his oppositional, stand-offish nature was a way of keeping him at arm’s length so he wouldn’t just tell MC all of the secrets about Jacob and R. Of course, now that Jacob is back, on good terms with MC, and and starting to work with them and Moody, he really has no reason not to tell us everything, but oh well...

Luces’ 2019 Fanfic Round-up

I might do an end-of-the-year thing reflecting on the year in my personal life and Tumblr life, too, but first I’m going to do a masterpost of the stuff I wrote this year because I’m all about that shilling your creative works life. I suppose this is kind of a writing version of those year-end posts that artists do, giving their favorite or best pieces from each month.

March 2019: I ran the first annual @clenny-week from March 25-31, 2019, and although I wasn’t able to do a fic for each day, I managed to complete 4/7 prompts. I thank everyone who participated in that week, and I hope to see you for Clenny Week 2020. ^^

Santa Daddy - Clyde/Kenny - Rated M - The main four are back in town for winter break and Cartman challenges Kenny to sit on the mall Santa’s lap (and ask for a dirty gift). The mall Santa happens to be Clyde, who had a crush on Kenny in high school.

Pinot Noir - Clyde/Kenny - Rated T - Clyde is nervous as he and Kenny go out on their fifth date, as he's decided to finally confess that he has a ten year old daughter.

The Princess of Mischief - Clyde/Kenny - Rated T - Princess Kenny has been captured by the Dark Lord Clyde. Everything was going according to plan...until an unexpected visitor makes Clyde break character.

I’ll Always Be Here - Clyde/Kenny - Rated M - It's the one year anniversary of Kenny's death, and Clyde is not coping well. Meanwhile, in Hell, Kenny is given a special Deathday wish candle by Satan, allowing him to make a wish that is guaranteed to come true. He wishes to spend one more day with his husband.

August 2019: This year, the South Park fandom on Tumblr really blew up with theme weeks! The upside to this is that people are taking charge of their favorite ships/characters, especially underrated ones, and using the platform to try to bring together others who enjoy those. The downside is that the more weeks there are, the more overlap there is, and people have to pick and choose which to do. Also, there can be burn-out. I felt a lot of writing burn out after Clenny Week, and I didn’t really write anything publicly for the majority of the spring/summer. (I’ll get into what I mean by “publicly” later.) @tweekweek and @clydeweekis-canon both got me out of my writing funk a little bit, as I managed to write two one-shots that allowed me to explore concepts/characters that I don’t use often.

Tweek’s New Project - Tweek/Craig (but NOT the focus) - Rated T -When the stress of life and work get to be too much, Tweek likes to retreat to his den where he can work on arts and crafts and practice mindfulness and meditation. He is particularly excited about this new project, and waiting all day to work on it is torture.

Tell Me I’m Pretty - Bebe/Clyde - Rated T - Bebe Stevens always presents herself with confidence and style, but even the strongest of women can break sometimes. Clyde thinks she’s perfect, no matter what.

October 2019: In October, I finally published the fic I wrote for the first zine I participated in, South Park: Growing Up. I wrote this story at the very beginning of 2019, the zine was sold digitally in March 2019, and then I didn’t write or Tumblr much after that. ^^()

Snow Is Hell - General - Rated G - Snow. Poets and artists and songwriters of Christmas songs may try to convince people that it's always pure, fluffy, and delightful, but those who live where snow is commonplace know the truth. A field of freshly fallen snow is not “a marshmallow world”. It's a battlefield. At least it is for the children of South Park, Colorado. A Saturday morning of peacefully playing in the snow, making snowmen and sledding, can quickly devolve into a battle for school yard supremacy.

December 2019: December means the holiday season, which means holiday themed fanfiction. This year, I was able to finish a WIP from 2018 that I had started for @cryde-week, and I participated in @craigandthoseguys-week Secret Santa event, writing a D&D themed one-shot for @nokoikoi-draws.

Your Voice - Clyde/Craig - Rated M - At his company Christmas party, Craig watches Clyde's co-workers surprise him by showing him they've learned ASL so they can better communicate with him. Feeling ashamed (and a little jealous) that he's never learned ASL despite having a mute boyfriend who uses it, Craig decides to spend the year taking classes so that he can surprise Clyde with it next Christmas.

Dungeons and Flagons (of Cocoa) - Craig/Tweek (but not the focus) - Rated T - It's Christmas Eve and the adults are all out at some boring Christmas party. Clyde is bored, so he invites his best bros over for a Christmas-themed D&D one-shot campaign.

Ongoing fics: Sooo...this year wasn’t great for my ongoing fics. ^^() Back at the end of January, it had been one year since I had started Dumb Boys, I had 12 chapters completed, and I stated that I wanted to focus on it more so that I could do better than a one-chapter a month average. That didn’t happen. ^^() Also I had started a multi-chapter Creek band AU at the end of 2018, but then didn’t update for months. So in 2019, I managed to update two new chapters to the band AU over the summer, and three chapters to Dumb Boys. Needless to say, I neglected my children. =/

Dumb Boys - Clyde/Kenny - Rated E - It's senior year at Park County High and Clyde Donovan is ready to cement his legacy as the number one guy in the school. He's already one of the school's football stars so it shouldn't be difficult, except that Kenny McCormick, the lead snare drummer for the marching band, seems to be taking that spot without even trying. In order to determine once and for all who is the top guy, Clyde decides to challenge Kenny to a contest of who can have sex with the most people in a semester.

He’s With the Band - Tweek/Craig - Rated E - Tweek is the lead singer for the up-and-coming band Humble Folx, but when he's not performing on stage, he's somewhat reclusive, and he always refuses to join his bandmates in interviews. Craig Tucker is a 23 year old music journalist who can't quite catch a break. He's hung up on his ex and his career at Treble and Bass magazine isn't headed in any real direction. That is until he's offered the chance to go on tour with Humble Folx and get the exclusive interview with Tweek.

Unpublished fics (aka fics for fanzines): In addition to “Snow Is Hell”, I also wrote fics for two other fanzines over the summer. (I had to focus what little writing energy I had on them, which is why my ongoing fics were so neglected.) I wrote “Duality” for the Creek zine @adealandadevilzine, which if anyone has the digital copy and has read the fic, I hope you enjoyed my attempt at writing high fantasy. Hard copies should be going out in the spring, so once we get the okay, I’ll be putting it on AO3, so expect a lot more shilling then. I also wrote two fics for the upcoming @crennynationzine (follow for more info!), a sfw story called “The Games We Play” and a nsfw follow-up/sequel called “A Two Player Game”.

WIPs: Finally, I’m going to mention a handful of fics I started this year and will hopefully finish at some point in my lifetime. ^^() “Getting His Just Desserts” is a fic I started for @bottomcraigweek with like 5 Craig ships involved. “The Long Haul” is a Twyde fic where Clyde is a truck driver and Tweek is a server at a roadside diner. “Chicken Soup for the Eldritch Soul” is a Clenny fic where Clyde makes chicken soup for a sick Kenny...but doesn’t notice the body horror going on in the background. “Dr. Craig’s Miracle Tonic” is a nsfw crackfic where Dr. Craig is able to cure his patients with the power of his penis. Finally, I wrote like 300 words for “Born to Run”, the Natural Born Killers AU Creek fic I’ve waxed poetic about for two years.

Deathday Prompts: Rem

Week 1 Prompt: Introductions! Who is your character? What have they been up to for the last six months? What are they currently working towards? Are they looking for friends, business contacts, enemies, to get by without drawing attention?

Remington (or just Rem or Remy) is the head of the Fence Macabre mercantile group, Argent Crusade veteran, ex-Badlands bounty hunter, deputy of Fuselight, exterminator of scarlet crusaders, and renowned gunslinger. The old forsaken's memories are starting to peter out as a result of encroaching mindlessness, but Loira seems driven to find a solution. And if that don't work, she's been learning a bit of Shadow magic on the side through one of her employees, a Forsaken tidesage by the name of Leontine. She's old for a forsaken. Been there since the taking of Undercity thirteen years ago as one of the First Generation.

Rem has seen a lot of action in both of her lifetimes, from bounty hunting to even in the Argent Crusade: Serving as a scout-sniper as part of the Snow Ghosts, a primarily-Forsaken platoon of rogues and hunters specializing in winter reconnaissance and assassination. Without the need to eat and being unaffected by temperature, the Snow Ghosts were lauded for their unique skill to blend in among the Scourge and spend extended amounts of time behind enemy lines without support.

She often buried herself in the snow for up to a week. Sometimes, she even packed it into her mouth to prevent herself from subconsciously exhaling frost and giving away her position.

During the War Against the Lich King, Remington racked up a total of one-hundred and seventy-six confirmed sniper kills on the Scourge. Fifty-six of those kills were on Scourge leadership such as death knights and necromancers. She attained most of her kills using her rifle’s iron sights since light would shine against a scope’s glass, revealing her position.

After the recession following the Northrend Campaign and the subsequent Cataclysm, Remington established the Fence Macabre as a means of securing work. The Fence Macabre’s founding members survived by performing unappealing work such as: mercenary contracts, odd jobs, manual labor, and bounty hunting. Despite their appearance and undeath, the group gained a reputation for reliability, honesty, and kind demeanor, later blossoming into the widely-connected mercantile group it is today.

In life, Remington was the heir of the Thornbolt lineage, a long-line of hunters and game wardens. Over the years, the Thornbolts gradually phased out of nobility, instead becoming just humble hunters content on living off of the land. Even from a young age, her skill in shooting was renowned, often winning against bonafide Stormwind archers and snipers in shooting competitions. Eventually, she was renowned in Elwynn Forest for her infamous trick shots, such as ricocheting bullets off of mid-air coins to strike bottles, fanning the hammer and hitting the same target bullet on top of bullet, and shooting behind herself using a mirror or even just relying on shadows.

Week 2 Prompt: How much importance does your character place on birthdays? How do they like to celebrate? Which was their most important? If dead, do they celebrate the day they were raised instead?

Rem still celebrates her birthday. She wholeheartedly disagrees with the view that Forsaken should forget their past lives. Shutting out your past and refusing to come to terms with what you are versus what you were is unhealthy and bottles up emotions. Her birthday marks the start of the week of the year she's able to forget any worries or troubles that comes with running a company.

The caravan master goes dark, taking time off to, strangely, be alone on. She departs for a big hunt or simply talks a very long walk through nature. There's something spiritual about losing one's self and melding in with the denizens of the wilderness. The wilds never were scary for the rural-raised human. Her favorite of these outings is walking the entire length of Northrend (Icecrown not included), starting from Borean Tundra and ending on the coast of the Howling Fjord.

In life, birthdays were never on the level of noble soirees or anything, but they were always heartfelt. Rem's parents left in the early morning even before she woke up to venture into Goldshire to pick up a custom-order chocolate cake, relatively expensive since cacao beans aren't grown in Elwynn Forest. They'd come back and surprise Rem with sweets in bed. These days were the only times the family splurged on sugar. From there, Rem's parents often took her to the nearby apple orchards and cornfields to pick fruit for tomorrow's breakfast and play hide and seek. The day finally ended with a barbecue involving the entire extended family (~30 people) singing songs, playing the fiddle, dancing, shooting bottles, arm wrestling, and overall just having a rowdy old time through the night.

Everyone would be shit-faced with a hangover the next morning. Getting absolutely trashed on Rem's birthday became a family tradition, and Rem herself joined in the moment she was old enough to chug moonshine. Not everyone survived after the Fall of Stormwind. Parties became tame and more solemn after immigrating to Lordaeron. As her parents grew older and unable to party as rowdy as they did in Rem's childhood, Rem often celebrated her birthdays by traveling with them, visiting Stratholme and Capital City to see the entirety of Lordaeron.

Week 3 Prompt: Welcome to Fence University! This is an AU that we spend time throwing ideas around for sometimes, even though we don’t write in it. Where does your character fit in? Are they a Professor, student? Do they work on campus? What do they study, how did the get to be there? Where can they usually be found and what do they generally think of those they share campus with?

Remington Thornbolt is... a highschool dropout that failed to obtain her diploma after being expelled for fighting. Scholarly subjects don't come easily to her at all, and she struggled to get her GED two years after she should've graduated. After fumbling around in academic limbo and coming dangerously close to joining the Hounds of Sylvanas MC, Remington decided to turn over a new leaf.

Intending to take up the family farming business, Remington has put her nose to the grindstone in pursuit of a degree in Agriculture and a minor in Environmental Science. Her old, delinquent ways occasionally show themselves. But for the most part, Remington keeps a tight leash on them. She's halfway through her bachelor's, and she's only seen during night classes. But she's the first one in, and the last one out.

Week 4 Prompt: Come One, Come All! The Darkmoon Faire is in town, what is your character’s favourite ride/game? Outside of these, what do they enjoy most about the experience? Are they ever concerned about where exactly, the Faire is?

Rem just grins whenever the Shooting Arcade is up, and the gunslinger is infamous to the booth's manager, Rinling. No matter how many targets or how they dart around, Rem always clears out all of them. For her, they may as well be free wins. Regardless of Rem clearing everything out whenever she arrives, she and Rinling always have a pleasant chat about bullet ballistics and the new shiny firearms recently released by the various Azerothian gunsmithing companies.

Other than the Shooting Arcade, Rem always goes for a round or two racing. It's one of the only times she's able to go neck and neck with other riders without being shot at. Rockets are dangerous. The rural-raised caravan master doesn't understand flying rockets, and Rem would faint at the thought of piloting a shredder. She prefers saddling up on a racing strider as it's the only thing that responds to a bridle. After a couple years of this, Rem has become surprisingly skilled in riding on other giant biped creatures like hawkstriders, raptors, and even bloodbeasts!

Everything was quiet, almost boring, until Halloween night: sure, Harry and Ron had arrived at school in Mr. Weasley's flying car after they had lost the Hogwarts Express, and Mrs. Weasley's letter had been nothing short of hilarious, but nothing more happened, beside the boring and unfair fact that Draco’s father brought a place for his son in the Quidditch team by buying new brooms to everyone, and they were all first day’s news, but now they were coming back from Nearly Headless Nick’s deathday party and Harry started to talk about a voice that no one else was able to hear and that was interesting.

"This way," he shouted, sounding a little like a madman, and he began to run up the stairs, into the entrance hall. A knowing look and the four friends followed him but they stopped short when they saw foot-high words daubed on the wall between two windows, shimmering in the light cast by the flaming

torches.

“The chamber of secrets has been opened. Enemies of the Heir, beware,” Blaise read aloud.

"What's that thing hanging underneath?" asked Pansy, a slight quiver in her voice. Mrs. Norris, the caretaker's beloved cat, was hanging by her tail from the torch bracket. She was stiff as a board, her eyes wide and staring. For a few seconds, they didn't move, then Hermione screamed, which attracted a lot of unwanted attention, but she hardly noticed, her face buried in Blaise's chest, who had held her and Pansy as if he wanted to protect them from that terrible image.

“Enemies of the Heir, beware…” repeated a thoughtful voice. Hermione looked up only to meet Draco’s cold eyes. There was something new in his expression, something she could’ve considered fear or regret. Adrian had also approached them and looked at the younger boy with an expression of contempt: "You are despicable."

"I didn’t do this!" he exclaimed, and he seemed really hurt by the idea that someone could blame him, but his words where partially swallowed up by the cat owner’s voice, who accused Harry, that was still near Mrs. Norris’s body but backed several steps away when the janitor nearly hit him, and he would’ve succeeded if Dumbledore himself, who had rushed to the scene with the other professors, hadn’t stopped him by force.

“It’s impossible!” Ron intruded. “He was with us at Nick’s party and we have a room full of ghosts who can prove it!”

"Come with me, Argus," said the Headmaster to Filch while he was trying to drag him away from the hideous scene.

“We can use my office,” said Lockhart, eagerly. Dumbledore nodded and left the janitor, who seemed to have calmed down and started cried silently. As much as she detested Filch, Hermione couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for him, though not nearly as sorry as she felt for Harry: if the Headmaster believed Filch, he would be expelled for sure and he would’ve been forced to spend another six years with his uncles, who, as he described them, didn’t seem good people.

“You should come too,” said Dumbledore, before gently detaching the corpse from the hook. Hermione never thought she could be accused of plotting with the blood supremacists, but evidently everyone had forgotten that her parents, and all her ancestors before her, beside, obviously, a squib somewhere, that made the magical ability unexpectedly resurface after many generation, were Muggles. And so here she was, even though she could’ve been a nobody among many, in Lockhart's office, accused together with purebloods and Voldemort’s most famous enemy.

"It was definitely a curse that killed her, probably the Transmogrifian Torture. I've seen it used many times, so unlucky I wasn't there, I know the very countercurse that would’ve saved her…” Lockhart was saying, but Hermione struggled to follow, too busy listening to Draco, who was trying to convince her that he hadn’t been the author of that threat, and watching Pansy, who was trying not to cry, her face still buried in Blaise's chest, Harry stroking her hair. She wondered if they were annoyed by the fact she was talking to Malfoy but even if they weren’t, they probably would’ve been if they knew she believed him. Meanwhile, Dumbledore was bent over Mrs. Norris, muttering strange words under his breath and tapping her with his wand.

"I remember something very similar happening in Ouagadogou," said Lockhart, covering again Draco’s words "a series of attacks, the full story's in my autobiography: I was able to provide the townsfolk with various amulets, which cleared the matter up at once…”

Dumbledore interrupted him but he preceded Hermione with a delay of just seconds as she was about to burst out and scream at him to shut up. She didn’t want to disrespect a professor and he was a man who had done great things, but after the first lesson she doubted that he was still so mighty.

"She's not dead, Argus."

"Not dead?" choked Filch, looking through his fingers at Mrs. Norris. "But why's she all stiff and frozen?"

"She has been Petrified," said Dumbledore, and Hermione tried to remember what she knew about the subject. Other than the Petrificus Totalus spell, not much, to be honest, and that wasn't its result, therefore it had to have something to do with Dark Magic. She glanced sideways at Draco: his father was said to be a Dark Wizard, but even if he was, she couldn’t imagine him, however hateful, would follow that path.

“He did it!" Filch insisted, his face purpling, his skeletal index indicating Harry. "You saw what he wrote on the wall, and he just found out…” the words died in his throat but Hermione, as everyone else in that room, beside, maybe, Draco, knew the rest of the sentence. Harry told them he had found a letter in his office that had led Hermione to the conclusion that he was a squib, and if for a Muggleborn like her it wasn't such a shameful thing, she knew that many purebloods saw it as the worst of shame.

"I never touched Mrs. Norris!" Harry said loudly, and all the eyes in the room were now on him. They had gone to that corridor because Harry had heard something none of them had been able to, but none of his friends were willing to admit it and there was no need for anyone else to know about it, at least until they thought and tried all the possible solutions: as far as they knew, he could only be schizophrenic, something definitely controllable with Muggle drugs, even if the coincidence was decidedly disturbing.

"If I might speak, Headmaster," said Snape, finally emerging from the shadows he was hiding in, and Hermione stiffened because although she was sure he would do anything to exculpate his students, she wasn't sure he would do that, since she wasn’t sure he was able to put his hatred for Harry aside, it didn’t matter if it was to save his House’s face of his own life, he just hated him too strongly. “My student and their friends may have simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he concluded after a long pause, a slight sneer curling his mouth ad he though he doubted it. Everyone waited for the rest of the sentence but he didn’t add anything to confirm what his face was saying. Hermione and Blaise exchanged a puzzled look but they had no intention of protesting or drawing attention to them as the Headmaster had just declared them innocent until proven guilty. As he spoke he looked firmly at Filch, who didn’t seem satisfied with the verdict but seemed to have no intention in opposing his greatest ally.

"So can we leave?" Ron asked bravely, but before Dumbledore could say anything Snape replied, saying that he would accompany his students to the dormitories, in light of what had just happened, and he trusted that Professor McGonagall would do the same with hers.

“Of course,” hissed the woman, before putting a hand on the back of each of the two guys belonging to her House and practically pushing them out the door. Although no one felt safer with Snape nearby, not even his students, no one dared to rebel and they walked silently through the corridors with the feeling that something terrible could happen at any moment. Snape turned, just as they expected, into a dark corridor, where there weren't many paintings that could repeat and gossip on his words. Even the ghosts had to keep away from that wing of the castle.

“I don’t know what happened but I know it wasn’t you. This doesn’t mean that I will always be around to get you out of trouble, so try to opt for better companies and an attitude that attracts less attention unless you want to be me the one accusing you, the next time something like this happens,” and with those words, he turned his back on them and went straight where he came from.

The FNAF Deathday Party AU Protagonist: Gregory

Role

I imagine my Deathday Party AU to play out a lot like a Horror Indie JRPG game.

And like these games, the common trope of putting children into deadly and trauma-inducing situations is a main staple of the AU

As for how he got into this mess Gregory would usually sneak into the Pizzaplex repeatedly looking at the animatronics from afar until Glamrock Freddy suddenly malfunctioned.

Usually leaving by the time Closing hours occur he had hung back to find out what was wrong with his favorite animatronic. Until he ends up being chased by Vanessa and the other animatronics.

And then the Pizzaplex starts twisting and the echoes of children screaming in horror resounds.

And now Gregory, just like in Security Breach, is trapped in the Pizzaplex but the conditions to escape are vastly different

The Pizzaplex has become a psychedelic horror wonderland due to the mysterious properties of Remnant, the fact that it was built upon the burnt remains of a haunted pizzeria, and the interference of several horribly murdered children resonating.

Because of this Gregory has to appease 4 central spirits keeping the place within an eternal nightmare.

And end a recurring evil lying underground.

Personality

Independent and resourceful and is able to think quick on his feet from having survived the streets.

However, because of this he can act surprisingly ruthless and mercenary if it's necessary despite being a child.

He has a resilient mindset but this is stretched thin when confronted with the situation he's been forced into.

He acts cocky and careless, but he does sympathize with others in a bad situation.

However, he is still a child holding wonder and entranced by the Pizzaplex that he would frequently break into. He finds the place a wonderland of a second home.

Also, he was a low-key fan of Glamrock Freddy, often stealing memorabilia of the animatronic to take with him.

This affection is furthered into father-son territory when Glamrock Freddy shows care for him.

Depending on how Gregory treats the Afton-Virus affected Animatronics will either define him as someone courageous who seeks to help free the people he's come to see as a family or as someone ruthless and obsessed with keeping Freddy for his own despite anyone's objections

Abilities

Gregory has a talent for sneaking, hiding, and quick thinking from living on the streets.

This is put to the test when surviving the Pizzaplex but thanks to handy gadgets from Miguel his chances are increased.

Ofc the penultimate Fazwatch that enables Gregory to communicate with Virus-free animatronics and Miguel and also control electronics

He has a backpack and a Batman-like utility belt from the gift store to hold onto anything useful and acts as an inventory for exploring the Pizzaplex.

A badge with a camera allowing Gregory to give Miguel and Freddy a visual on his situation

A ray gun and camera for Gregory to stun Animatronics.

Remote-controlled drones for Gregory to control and take a view for the environment around him

Of course Gregory gets these gadgets over the course of the story and starts out with nothing at the beginning.

Throughout this Gregory learns to rely on the support network Freddy and Miguel provide him and eventually the other animatronics.

He doesn't go at this alone.

Relationships

Looks up to Freddy as akin to a father and Freddy in return looks at him akin to a son.

If Gregory sympathizes with the animatronics he comes to make a familial connection with each animatronic he saves

Roxy- as an obnoxious older sister

Chica- fun-loving aunt

Monty- the irresponsible uncle

Miguel- crazy conspiracy uncle

Sun and Moon- annoying older brothers

At the beginning, he only saves them because Freddy is worried about them. But if he goes out his way to connect/hang out with them between explorations he comes to sympathize and care about the animatronics.

Bunny Boy End: This end occurs only if Gregory doesn't bother saving or connecting with any of the animatronics affected by the Afton Virus at all. As this occurs over the story Gregory takes more and more callous behavior towards anything else other than Freddy who he acts obsessive towards.

This allows a certain person to once again repeat what has been done to Vanny to occur to Gregory.

Snily AU - Book 2?

So, here I go again, on a massive long ramble about this stupidly self-indulgent AU I’ve come up with. If you want a recap, I think I’m going to tag this AU under ‘role swap AU’, which is what it’s turned out to be, even if it started as just a simple ‘what if Snily instead of Jily?’ AU, so just search for the role-swap-AU tag on my blog.

And, as before, putting this monster beneath a read more, because, really, I’m writing an entire not!fic here. This is longer than some of the actual oneshots I’ve written, fml...

I’m just going to pick up where I left off; the summer holidays at the beginning of book two. Of course, a lot of what we see in the books is going to belong to Neville, now. I honestly can’t decide if Dobby would think to try stopping Neville’s mail, since he’s not quite as isolated as Harry was. Maybe he tries some other mischief. If he does end up showing himself, I can only imagine Augusta hitting the roof over this interference. (Maybe she even recognises Dobby as a Malfoy elf and gives Lucius what for about it?)

I like the idea that Neville is just as clumsy with the floo as Harry is, and the whole Borgin and Burke’s scene happens pretty much as per canon. Idk if Hagrid would find him or not, but either way he would, eventually get back to Diagon Alley safely (because he, unlike Harry, grew up in the Wizarding World and knew roughly where he was).

But I don’t know if he’d meet the Weasleys there. He certainly wouldn’t have needed rescuing, so what if instead of going there with a friend, it’s more of a coincidence. What if he just happens to bump into Harry there. Harry, who’s there with Sirius and Remus, of course, but also with the Snapes. Lily and Severus and Maeve, and her two younger brothers, Azrael and Gilgamesh. Because Maeve is starting Hogwarts this year and they’re making a big day of it, and Lily invited Remus & co because why not? So Neville bumps into them in Flourish and Blotts, right before he gets recognised by Lockhart.

And, of course, Lucius Malfoy still has his massive beef with the Weasleys for being blood-traitors and poor as dirt, as per canon, but in this AU, I think he’d have an even bigger beef with Severus. Severus, who Lucius was supposed to recruit, Severus whom he groomed for the role and made promises of everything the Dark Lord would give him if Severus fought for him, Severus who embarrassed him so massively in front of the Dark Lord when he picked a mudblood bitch over all that power and promise.

So it’s not Ginny Weasley who gets the Diary, it’s Maeve Snape. Lucius slips it in among her books while making snide comments about Severus sullying himself, how very like his muggle-loving mother, a legacy he must be so proud of- Lily shuts him up by punching him square in the jaw. And probably makes a comment about how does Lucius like being put on his ass by a mudblood, with muggle fighting techniques. Not so inferior now, huh? And Remus makes a quip about Lily being a healer, and wasn’t there something in her oaths about not doing harm? And Lily’s like ‘I swore to fight parasites and diseases, and that’s exactly what I did.’

And I want Draco to have a very complicated problem here, because on the one hand, he’s been conditioned to side with his father, and his father doesn’t like Severus Snape. But Draco, canonically, likes alchemy and potion-making, and Severus has, in this verse, had the opportunity to become a rather world-renowned name in the field. Draco, deep down and so secretly he barely admits it to himself (right next to where he hides his massive, debilitating crush on Harry), wants an apprenticeship with Severus when he’s older. So he’s bitter about it, and even more bitter because he’d entertained hopes of befriending Maeve, selling it to his father as luring her away from her family, but honestly mostly just in the hopes of getting an in with famous Potioneer and Alchemist Severus Snape. But no, she’s friends with Harry Potter, the bane of Draco’s entire existence. So he’s an even more pissy little shit than usual.

And that’s the summer, so now they’re off to Hogwarts. Except, of course, Dobby. And this is where things start getting complicated. Because I think Dobby would still stop Neville going through the barrier, since it’s one of the surest ways to stop or delay him, a point he has to pass through, and there’s no way around, and there’s a time limit. He probably has sneaky ways to make sure the Longbottoms are late, so there wouldn’t even be drama of there being a lot of people stuck, not just Neville. But would Ron be with him? Was any of the delay the Weasleys suffered Dobby’s fault? Do they get there earlier? So here’s the real important question:

9) Does Neville fly the car to Hogwarts? 9a) If the Weasleys are even there, does Ron even get stuck with Neville? Or is it someone else? The twins? Ginny?

I hadn’t thought of that before, but that could be interesting, actually. The two of them would be so shy around each other, Neville just naturally timid and self-effacing, and GInny over-come by her hero-worship crush. But Ginny is bold, when she’s not intimidated by trying to impress her crush, so if Neville did mention waiting by the car, I think she would be daredevil and stubborn enough to suggest flying it to school. I think the lure of all that time alone with her crush would be enough to make her push, even if Neville was hesitant and dubious.

Still, the question stands. Either way, he gets to Hogwarts eventually. And Ginny, Maeve, and Luna are devastated to realise they’re all in different houses, but Harry encourages them to not let house divisions come between them.

Which, speaking of house divisions, brings me to a plot point I really like. Of course, because they’re both in Slytherin, Harry and Draco can’t have their epic Quidditch rivalry. There can only be one Slytherin Seeker, after all. So, of course, they both try out, and it’s a furious competition, and they’re almost neck-and-neck. And eventually, Marcus Flint decides one of them is reserve Seeker, while the other gets the actual positions. So, of course, before every match, the reserve Seeker tries to sabotage the actual Seeker so that they get to play in the match. So of course, when the next year rolls around, and the reserve Seeker gets to be on the actual team, the new reserve Seeker sabotages them right back.

I think that, behaviour-wise, it makes more sense for Draco to be the reserve Seeker in their second year, to start off the whole sabotage-drama? I think Harry would be petty enough to try sabotaging Draco (remember, he is a Slytherin this go around), especially if he thought Marcus Flint had shown favouritism by picking Draco. (Maybe because of the broom-bribe?) But I haven’t even begun to think how it might play out in later years, so I’m not sure.

And following on from the quidditch-related questions; given that Neville doesn’t play quidditch, there can’t be any rogue bludger, so there really need to be other ways for Dobby to attempt to injure Neville enough to get sent home. I have no idea what they might be, though. I mean, Neville is already clumsy, so maybe he just seems to be having an Extra Clumsy Year or something, but that doesn’t seem like enough? I thought maybe, that if he didn’t fly the car to Hogwarts, this might be a good way for Neville to encounter the Whomping Willow? He is, after all, really interested in Herbology. Dobby might engineer an incident there?

I really ought to reread the second book (or listen to the audiobook, at least), because I’m a bit fuzzy on the order of events, but I think the only crucial plot point before the whole rogue bludger thing was the Deathday Party, right? I think that would all happen pretty much the same. No reason for it not to, really. And then, of course, because Dobby is trying to injure Neville, even without the bludger, he probably would end up in the hospital wing eventually, and Colin Creevey would try to visit him. But hey, would Ginny go with him? I kind of like the idea that they became sort of friends, bonding over their shared crushes on Neville. But if she goes with him, does she get petrified, too? That kind of ruins the whole only-muggle-borns streak right out of the gate, but it might be an interesting avenue to explore?

10) Who gets to be Slytherin Seeker first? Harry or Draco? 11) How does Dobby attempt to not-kill Neville? 12) Does Ginny go with Colin to visit Neville in the hospital wing? 12a) If she does, does she get petrified? Or does she avoid it? 12b) If she does avoid it; how?

And then we come to the duelling club. No Sev here, he’s free of that blasted classroom, so who does Lockhart rope in as his ‘assisstant’? My first thought was Flitwick, since he’s the renowned duelist on staff. But then I thought: McGonagall. Can you imagine McGonagall getting stuck having to deal with Lockhart in full on show-off mode? I think it might even be as entertaining as the actual canon dueling club.

Draco still summons a snake, and Neville still talks to it, and everyone still thinks he’s the Heir of Slytherin, as per canon. Only, in this verse, Neville actually has sort-of-friends in Slytherin. They’re not close, but they know and like each other, and Slytherin house is losing it’s collective mind at the notion of an actual real life parseltongue at Hogwarts. Jealousy and awe run rampant, and Harry and Tracey can tell Neville all about it. And most importantly, when Neville starts angsting over how it’s a Dark Art and maybe he is just a failure and an awful person deep down, Blaise, a well-educated pureblood from a Slytherin family can tell Neville all about the good parseltongues. (I really hate how inconsistent JKR was about that sort of thing. Dumbledore says “It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” and yet JKR doesn’t have one example of a natural born parseltongue being good. Fuck you, madam. Fuck. You.)

When I was a kid, one of my favourite books was D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths, and one of the stories in it that stuck with me was the story of Melampus, who nursed a nest of orphaned snakes, and in return they licked his ears so clean he could hear and understand the language of animals. If that isn’t a perfect ‘origin of parseltongue’ story (Blaise: The muggles got it a bit wrong, of course, it wasn’t all animals, even snakes aren’t that wise, but they did teach him their own language) I don’t know what is. And he used the knowledge he gained from talking to them to heal. That, in fact, Parseltongue was known as a language of healing until only very recently. (Snakes are literally part of the symbol of western medicine ffs.)

And that maybe in other countries, like India and China, parseltongue is practically revered. They have their own parseltongue lines, and they’re honoured and maybe even rulers. (Are Chinese/East Asian Dragons snake-like enough to speak parseltongue? Do they speak dragonese? Are they bilingual?)

And Merlin, okay. I headcanon that Merlin was a parseltongue. Because I don’t care what JKR may have said on the subject, Merlin existed sometime around 500AD, which is five hundred years before Hogwarts even existed. He could not have been a Slytherin. However, I do really like the idea of him being Slytherin’s ancestor. (Which would also help explain Slytherin’s reputation for being obsessed with lineage. If I had Merlin in my family tree, I’d fucking brag about it, too.) And modern witches and wizards who aren’t historians only know vaguely that he’s associated with Slytherin, which then gets mistaken for him being in Slytherin. And any sufficiently educated witch or wizard (Hermione) will get so frustrated with that misconception because the dates don’t even match up you uneducated nitwit.

And of course Slytherins have a different opinion on Slytherin himself. Maybe when Hermione hears Tracey, a muggleborn like herself, defending the most famous hater of muggleborns in history (besides Voldemort), she gets all geared up for a Research Project, and she and Tracey disappear into the library together for hours on hours looking for unbiased sources and historical accounts of what Slytherin was actually like.

Sorry about that tangent, I just have a lot of feelings about parseltongues and Slytherin and Merlin and Greek Myths. Anyway, back to the plot; I think the whole Christmas drama with the polyjuice potion should just be scrapped. It just doesn’t work when the Boy Who Lived has friends in Slytherin and can just ask. I think Harry would definitely be of the opinion that Draco really probably isn’t the Heir (Harry: If Malfoy were descended from Slytherin himself, I think we would have heard about it by now. At great length. In detail. Every day.)

But maybe there was still a bit of an incident over Christmas, because Draco was mouthing off about how he hopes the next attack kills someone, and Harry argues with him, and it turns into a massive thing, with students from all years weighing in on this side or that. And Maeve is just sitting in the corner shrinking in her seat because she’s really starting to think ‘what if it’s me?’

So she tries to get rid of the diary. Maybe she confides in Ginny and Luna. (Or, just Luna, if Ginny is petrified...) I think she probably actually showed them the diary in the first place, and Luna made some vaguely disturbing comments about it, and Ginny thought it was neat, but they didn’t get sucked in like Maeve did, and they’ve been really kind of worried about her, so when she goes to them and explains - not all of it, she’s too frightened to admit to all of it, but she does tell them she thinks there’s something wrong with the diary, that maybe it’s hurting her - they’re (Luna’s) really relieved to help her get rid of it.

But does Neville find it? I mean, the whole thing is such a damn coincidence, but... hmm, Harry did find his way right to the diadem in the Room of Requirement, so if we work on the basis that Horcruxes are at least somewhat aware of each other and possibly even drawn to each other, then I think Neville would have to find it. (Whew, at least that’s one plot-bending point avoided.)

Next is Valentine’s Day. Ugh. This all depends on whether Ginny is petrified or not, doesn’t it? That’s probably an arguement for her not being petrified, because I can’t think of anyone else who has the right connections here. Of course, what the hell would happen if Neville kept the diary? Or would Maeve just steal it out of his bag at some point? I think she would have to. But if Ginny’s awake, then it goes basically like it did in canon, only Maeve is with Ginny when Neville’s bag splits, and she’s the one who panics over Neville having it, and she’s the one who convinces Ginny to help her steal it back. (Because if Tom was hurting Maeve, he might end up hurting Neville, and Ginny would love the idea of getting to be the hero that saves her idol from some soul-sucking diary. You can imagine the pre-adolescent daydreams the entire escapade fueled.)

Speaking of daydreams and romance, I love the idea of the entirety of the male-attracted population of Slytherin getting into a vicious fued over whether Lockhart is crush-worthy or not. Because, like him or not, the man is devious, and successful, and that’s got to be attractive to a lot of Slytherins. On the other hand, he wouldn’t know subtle if it jumped up and whacked him over the head with a brick. (I’m really torn as to what side of the equation Draco would fall on. On the one hand, he isn’t exactly subtle either, so there’s really good grounds for thinking he might be just as bad as Hermione about it all. On the other hand, I can’t help but feel that he’s much more likely to have a teacher-crush on Lupin, and obviously massively resent it and be a little brat about it just like he is about his crush on Harry. ...Although I suppose ‘why not both?’ does sort of apply here XD) Blaise is obviously very anti-Lockhart, and so is Daphne, Pansy is very pro-Lockhart, and so is Millicent. Harry, Tracey, and Theo just do not get what the fuss is all about, leave them out of it, please. That’s how Harry makes friends with Theo.

And then Hermione gets petrified. Only it’s not Penelope with her, it’s Tracey. Because they’ve been spending so much time together in the library researching Slytherin. (And also because Dean’s ‘just chuck out all the Slytherins’ speech pissed me right off, and I really wish JKR had actually put effort into debunking all the forms of prejudice in the books, not just the ones she set up to be distasteful. Not all Muggles are magic-hates, and not all Slytherins are Death Eaters.) And Tracey getting petrified would change a lot of the school’s attitude, because suddenly, no one is safe. The Slytherins aren’t All In On It, they’re just as much at risk as anybody else. No one knows where to look or where to point the finger.

And then there’s the whole thing with the spiders that I don’t even know where to start with. Obviously, Neville is going to get told by the Diary that Hagrid was the one to unleash the monster, so he would go talk to Hagrid, but... Not only is there the question of whether he would have stayed long enough to hear Hagrid’s warning without the Invisibility Cloak (which I still dunno if he has or not?), but... Would he really actually go looking for ‘answers’ in the Forbidden Forest? Which is where he was almost mauled by Voldemort once already. Ron certainly isn’t going to encourage him. If he does somehow go, how does he escape, given that maybe the car isn’t there? Argh. This whole thing becomes a complete mess with the possible changes of earlier and I have no idea what to do with it all. I just know that he does, somehow, need to be inspired to realise that Myrtle is the one the basilisk killed.

Or maybe he doesn’t? Is there some other way Neville could find the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets? Maybe Neville just... asks a snake? He could do that. There have to be some snakes at Hogwarts, and they must have heard the basilisk roaming about. Or, hey, maybe Luna helps? If Ginny was petrified, it might inspire her to investigate, in her own way, and she might find things others would miss. (Maybe she would just... go around asking all the ghosts if they know what happened fifty years ago.)

And that’s not getting into the whole issue of the adventure in the Chamber. Obviously, it’s Maeve that gets taken this time, so maybe it should be Harry that goes with Neville to the Chamber? Or maybe (if she’s not petrified) it should be Ginny? ...I feel I should mention that I don’t ship Ginny/Neville, and that’s not going to be end-game. She’s going to get over her crush and stay over it. And maybe actually getting to go on an adventure with the Boy Who Lived, getting to know how awful it is, how not-heroic it all it, how it’s just desperation and fear and muddling through as best you can, would help take the shine off her hero-worship and let her really start seeing Neville as a person, not a hero.

And then there’s also the problem of Lockhart. Do they take him along? Does Neville even think to go to him or does he just go on his own (or with Ron or Harry or Ginny or Luna or someone) because Someone Has To? I have no idea what to do with Lockhart, but given the curse something bad has to happen to him, right? And if the Flying Car thing didn’t happen, Ron’s wand isn’t broken, which means an obliviate wouldn’t backfire.

13) How does Neville find the Chamber of Secrets? 13a) If he goes to ask Hagrid about it, how would not having the Invisibility Cloak change things? 13b) If he does go into the Forbidden Forest following spiders, how the hell would they get out of it if they didn’t fly the car to Hogwarts? 13c) How involved in the process is Harry and/or Blaise, given Tracey got petrified? How involved is Luna, if Ginny got petrified? 14) Who goes with Neville to the Chamber of Secrets, if anyone? 14a) Does Lockhart go with them? 15) How does the curse get rid of Lockhart? Is it the same backfiring memory charm as canon? 15a) Does the basilisk kill and/or eat him? If so, how would that change the later story given he wouldn’t be able to reappear in book 5? (I don’t think it would change it very much? But my memory of book 5 is the fuzziest, and I can’t remember ^^”) 16) Does the basilisk have to die? Or can Neville somehow steal ‘control’ from Diary!Riddle and/or free the basilisk from his control? 16a) If the basilisk does die, should Neville and/or Maeve find baby basilisks and decide to raise them to replace the dead one?

No matter what happens, in the end, Neville kills the Diary, Maeve wakes up, and they meet her parents in Slughorn’s office. Lily and Sev are both relieved and furious, and when Lily finds out that her daughter was possibly possessed by Voldemort’s memory, she threatens to just go back to Italy. Lucius shows up, Neville realises what happened, frees Dobby, etc. The petrified students all wake up, Hagrid gets back from Azkaban, and probably Gryffindor wins the House Cup, regardless of who actually went down to the Chamber with Neville? Idk. If anyone can remember more details about exactly how the points stood in second year lemme know. So, a couple of bonus questions, because I’m a forgetful dumbass:

17) How would Slughorn being Potions Master affect all of this? Would he make much of a difference? Or would he just be bumbling about in the background, and have as much effect on the plot as Flitwick, or Sinistra? 17a) Who’s in the Slug Club? Who got recruited right away (like Neville, obviously), and who gets picked up in later years as they grow and mature and their skills come to light? 18) Who wins the House Cup?

Aaand on to book 3. Good god, what the hell am I even going to do with that, given, like, all of the major players just... aren’t, in this AU? I’ll think about that, and try to get a semi-coherent ramble full of yet more obnoxious questions written soon. ...Ish.
