16 and 19 for the horrible questions please
Thank you!
16: How exactly are you feeling at the moment?
Pretty good, actually. I slept well, I’m spending the weekend with my fiancé, and I’m not too stressed because I only have one paper to write. So yeah, I’m feeling content.
19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance?
Sometimes I feel like I would so I could change things that happened to me. There are so many things that I would stop myself from doing, people I would choose not to be involved with, things that I wouldn’t say. Also going through childhood again is kind of appealing because I never appreciated how wonderful it was until I became an adult. But other times I think, why would I want to live through all that again? Especially when I have so much to look forward to in the future.

you remind me of a dusty book on an indie bookstore and of an underrated movie screening,
of northern lights and shooting stars,
of ravishing spacecrafts and spacesuits,
of asteroids and comets, and
of blackholes and paradoxes,
of mixtapes and broken vinyls,
of sunrise and sunsets.
you also remind me of pink and orange skies and of pleasing murals on aesthetic walls.
but beyond all this pretty things, you remind me of a love i never even had before.
— Mathilda

🔧Mechanical Human Beings🤦🏼♂️
I try hard & I think
Why is this still bothering me?
When here there is
Nothing else to see
Other then pain and misery
But wasn’t this all because of me?
Following my heart
Wherever it wanted to be
Shouldn’t I have listened to you all?
I would have never started this tragedy
But what do I do now?
Wasn’t I forever this clown
Feels like an eternity
I have been doing the wrong things
Chasing dreams
To be exact
And how I see it
It’s too hard to go back to being
Mechanical human beings
So I will just keep my dreams with me
Hoping they will set me free
Brew me my tea
And write me my poetry
-a.K

Do I Have That Book? Challenge
Thanks a lot to @deadpoetsmusings for tagging me :)
Do you have a book with deckled edges?
None! It seems that publishers in my country have abandoned this technique for new books and i own mostly recent books, Also I have never heard about it before this challenge (which is a good way to learn something new).
Do you have a book with 3 or more people on the cover?
All my books have objects/animal/places on covers or abtracts covers without people. I don’t know if it says something about me or my reading habits?
Do you have a book based on another fictional story?
Ficciones By Borges. It’s a collection of short stories. In Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, Borges imagines himself as “narrator who inherits from a friend, a book that is revealed to be the eleventh volume of an English-language encyclopedia entirely devoted to an imaginary world”.
Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?
To Kill a Mockingbird.
Do you have a book with a title that starts and ends with the same letter?
I didn’t check through all my books but i can’t find one on my shelves.
Do you have a Mass Market Paperback book?
I have a lot of them because of their prices and how practical they are to transport, though i hate to read them because the fonts size often strain my eyes Since i must a give an example, let’s say Howl Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.
Do you have a book with a character’s name in the title?
Mrs Dalloway By Virginia Woolf.
Do you have a book with 2 maps in it?
My copy of Lord of the Rings has certainly more than two maps!
Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
A lot! I always read the book before watching the show. Most of the time I love the book more than the show but there’s exceptions like Wolf Wall by Hilary Mantel and it’s exceptional adaptation by the BBC, for which i have an equal love.
Do you have a book written by someone who is originally famous for something else? (celebrity/athlete/politician/tv personality…)
I have a few non fiction books written by local politicians but they are obscure for international readers and their books don’t have much interest outside a national context.
Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?
I couldn’t find one.
Do you have a poetry book?poets
The Flowers of Evil by Baudelaire.
Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?
I never have seen those kind of stamps in the books published in my country.
Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?
My initials are made of “rare” letters (Z and H) so i never read an author with the same initials.
Do you have a book of short stories?
I had a hard time to find one. I’m not a fan of short stories, except when they belong to sci-fi or fantastic genre. Like Black Water: The Book of Fantastic Literature by Alberto Manguel which i fully intend to read but kept delaying because it’s in english.
Do you have a book that is between 500-510 pages long?
I can’t find a book on my shelves with the right length. They are either too long or too short. However the last one i finished was the crime novel Six-Four by the japanese writer Hideo Yokoyama and It had 610 pages.
Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?
My favourite play of Shakespeare: the King Lear. I want to see the adaptation made by Akira Kurosawa (Ran).
Do you have a graphic novel?
NonNonba by Shigeru Mizuki.
Do you have a book written by 2 or more authors?
I don’t have any of their books actually in my library but i used to read and to enjoy a lot the crime novels written by the french duo Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac. I’d like to reread Sans Atout et le cheval fantôme, which was a school reading assignment and the 1st book i read from them.
Tagging: @all-these-paperback-dreams, @literatureandtrees, @arooomofmyown, @leiaia, @lettersfromthelighthouse. As usual, no pressure of course.

I was tagged by the ever-lovely @deadpoetsmusings to post a picture and/or write about the last book I rated five stars (sorry it took me so long!). Considering I had made a post about The Tidal Zone fairly recently, I thought I’d also include a book I feel may be a five-star read for me - Orlando by Virginia Woolf! The Tidal Zone is a beautiful novel about love, near-loss and the coming together of family in the face of crisis. Moss’ writing is stunning. Orlando, I feel I may love for different reasons (though Woolf’s writing is also fantastic albeit different to Moss). From what I have heard, this one seems to be based on Vita Sackville-West friend and lover of Virginia Woolf, and in fact even a love letter to literature itself! I shall report back once I read it!

✨💛 This is the Amazing Person Award! Once you are given this award you are supposed to paste it in the ask of eight different people, who, in your opinion, deserve it. If you break the chain nothing will happen, but it is sweet to know someone thinks you're amazing inside and out 💛✨
Awww, thank you for the sweet message! 💛

when u get this u have to answer with 5 things u like about yourself, publicly. then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool) ✨💛✨
Aw, thanks! I can be really negative about myself, so it does me good to think of some positives.
So, I like:
My eyes. I think they’re pretty.
That I’m good at my job. It makes me feel a million times better about myself when I realize that I’m doing so well there.
My intelligence. I always feel like saying that sounds conceited, but it’s one of the very few things I do actually like about myself.
That I’m a good friend (according to my friends anyway, and I guess I trust their judgement).
My hair.

Walt Whitman
Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring, Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish, Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?) Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d, Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me, Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined, The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here—that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
