I would like to ask you if you remember an unfinished human AU! fic based on a Strictly Come Dancing setting (I guess, never watched that show). Aziraphale is the professional dancer, Crowley an actor who's trying to get more attention from the audience to get more roles. At first they hate eachother, but the attraction is undeniable. It's beautifully written by two authors who said they would have probably kept writing again once the s.2 have been broadcasted. I can't find it anywhere, though, and I'm afraid it had been cancelled :(

Aziraphale is a professional, Crowley is a contestant, and the BBC needs viewers. Does what it says on the tin, if the tin has a whopping great “STRICTLY COME DANCING AU” label on it.

Gone slightly insane over my own Good Omens White Christmas au…whoops, 12 pages of notes and scene outlines later and now I have something to hyperfixate on til Christmas.

The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing

Summary: Innkeeper Aziraphale Fell is struggling to save his beloved but financially unstable Pine Tree Inn when Gabriel attempts to boost business and books a holiday stage show featuring a dazzling New York dance troupe, including the enigmatic Anthony Crowley. As Crowley’s fast-paced city life slows in the cozy Vermont setting, he and Aziraphale grow closer, their playful banter and stolen moments by the fire blossoming into an unexpected and tender love.

Excerpt:

“Vermont is beautiful this time of year,” Aziraphale said suddenly, his eyes drifting to the snow-dusted pines visible through the stage door’s window. “All that snow.”

When he dared to glance back at the man in whose arms he was currently swaying, he found Crowley staring at him. “All that snow,” Crowley echoed, a little bemused.

Aziraphale tilted his head, giving him a curious look. “That’s what I just said.”

Crowley arched an eyebrow. “We seem to be getting a little mixed up.”

Aziraphale chuckled nervously, his steps faltering slightly in their slow dance. “Maybe it’s the music.”

“Maybe it isn’t only the music,” Crowley murmured, his voice dropping lower as his hand tightened ever so slightly on Aziraphale’s waist.

Von Neil Gaiman wissen wir das in Good Omens die Engel nicht an Geschlechter gebunden sind und so entstand meine Version von Aziraphale als Frau ;) Natürlich darf Crowley nicht fehlen und dieser ist auch wieder mit dabei in seiner Schlangen Version. :D

From Neil Gaiman we know that in Good Omens the angels are not bound to gender and that's how my version of Aziraphale was created as a woman ;) Of course Crowley can't be missed and he's there again in his snake version. :D

i don’t want crowley to demand aziraphale do the apology dance. i want aziraphale to push crowley into a chair and make him watch him do that stupid little dance. it feels more satisfying.

Desperately in need of an aziracrow edit to Mitski's Pink in the Night or Two Slow Dancers or Once More to See You or I Want You. Quietly sobbing at my inability to make them a reality myself.

...Silence, only interrupted by the remnants of the whistle. Aziraphale raised the blindfold up on his forehead and his eyes fell on Crowley. His cheeks strewn with black shivered, and a soft, blazing, almost amazed smile lit up his eyes that had remained steel-like until now. Gone was the tortured, terrified expression of the performance's first minutes. What remained was the exaltation of the moment, a burning, feverish, devouring emotion. An aura that pierced through Crowley, setting them ablaze.

This expression, this smile, this look … Aziraphale usually kept it for the secrecy of their embraces.

Oh, fuck.

Aziraphale without doubt read the words on his lips, and the light in his eyes turned playful – provocative – for a brief moment.

The piano resumed, and Aziraphale too with it, his blindfold forgotten at the edge of the stage. The music turned spirited, frantic, definitely lighter. A cello, and other string instruments. For the first time, lyrics were heard, as tender, passionate and hopeful as Aziraphale’s dance had become.

But Crowley had recognized the music from the very first note...
