Watching a truly baffling thread on reddit where people are arguing that AdMech shouldn't get new automata (this is about the TSons release, which I'll be honest, I enjoy, I am a bird sympathiser)

But the thread is full of people being like "You should read the codex and lore, the admech DOES NOT use robots, they only use servitors".

A few people have pointed out the fact that the legio cybernetica is uhh, a thing, and then get shouted down by people saying that it either doesn't exist/hasn't existed since the heresy.

One particularly funny thing was a guy linking a wiki article to "prove" the legio was disbanded, with the article clearly stating the loyalist legio rebuilt after the schism.

Like, the admech 10th codex literally has a detachment that represents legio forces/references the legio as an organisation, lore bits on the legio and their role in guiding the "angels" of the machine god, and a legio cybernetica keyword. I mean, kastelan robots exist. Yeah, these guys have definitely been disbanded.

Honestly kinda fascinating watching people stating entirely false information on easily checkable lore facts, whilst citing evidence that is quite literally disproves their argument. Truly the warhammer fandom experience.

I would, as the certified kastelan guy, get involved, but a) the machine god has blessed my reddit account and banned my ability to comment/post, and b ) I'm too cool for reddit arguments, so I'm gonna rant on here

Joined a narrative 40k campaign, first order: the Legio Cybernetica's Ceraphim Cohort has been dispatched to defend a planet against a genestealer incursion.

My fellow imperials have discovered the robot list was not just a bit, and that 1200 points of kastelans (and some servitors) are all that's holding back the mutant tide.

They have less faith in the bots than I do. But preordained auto scriptures and static prayer triumphs over any foe. I'm telling you, nothing bad can come from running 12 kastelans.
