The Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel standom is the only place where well articulated sentences still get misinterpreted. You can say "I Don't like the Masquerade episode from HH" and Somebody will say "Oh, so you invalidate r*pe/sa/abuse victim's trauma?" No bitch. Dats a whole sentence. wtf is you talkin' about?
(parodying this) CW// r*pe mention, abuse mention
Yes, this actually happened in the fanbase.. a couple of victims of abuse came out voicing their concerns and criticisms about the episode and a bunch of stans came out of the woodworks invalidating those victims. Like, Don't get me fucking wrong, I know there are victims out there who thinks the episode is fine and I'm not trying to invalidate them but you need to respect both sides.. and Vivziepop isn't really helping when she was DEFENDING people who draw fetish r*pe art and tried to claim that Ralphielle was a victim of it (when it was proven by Ralph theirselves that they were not a victim and just love shipping valangel)

Hot take? Maybe let's not make an quirky animation meme base around a song about Angel Dust's SA, Abuse and R*pe please?
Tumblr media
Like, the animation is really good but.. please don't do that, oh and apparently this person also did a Animation meme base around the Junko Furuta case.
Tumblr media
I really wanna give Zeruk the benefit of a doubt and assume that they did not KNOW that 44 days was base around that case but, considering their activately deleting comments criticizing them or calling them out on those videos... yeah no.

Just thought to myself "can't women have a bad time in fiction without rape being involved" which really shows you how much you're in the fucking trenches if you are both a horror fan and women fan

Btw I think it's worth mentioning that I'm like. In some ways an extremely cynical person:
Literally, one of my major opinions on humanity is "Humans really seem to like committing genocide???" (Look, obviously genocide is a fucking atrocity, and I'm in no fucking way diminishing that. It's just also something that people keep fucking committing.)
I work professionally with survivors of abuse, rape, and incest.
I think that most people are (by design, aka evolution!) fundamentally self-interested (and also that that's usually okay)
I am more caught up on the news than like/at least 90% of people.
So when I say that I think that:
Hope is real
There is real, substantial evidence for hope
I think we're going to beat climate change
There is a ton of evidence that supports us beating climate change,
We're going (continue) making the world a better place
The good of humanity and the world ultimately outweighs the bad
It's not because I'm sticking my head in the sand. It's really, really not!
I'm saying that in very real knowledge of how fucking shitty things are and can be.
And despite all that, I'm still hopeful. I'm still optimistic.
I still think hope is going to win.
You don't need to be some huge optimist to have hope.
Anyway here's a link to my masterpost on why we're going to beat climate change,
And here's a link to a great article* on all the reasons that this century is, on average, the best time to be alive in human history.
*It is mostly a great article but warning for some brief but serious fatphobia and some annoying Western-centrism.
The world isn't perfect. It's so far from perfect. Hope is still worth it.

non-normative sexuality is not the root of sexual abuse or rape. for a huge amount of history in a huge amount of the world, sexual abuse and rape have been thoroughly normal (cf. marital rape exemptions being removed from US legal codes as recently as 2019). rapists are not 'freaks' -- the default, 'normal' paradigm of sexuality across the world is one of violent misogyny. 640 million women are or were child brides and the men marrying them are not abberations or exceptions, they are normal. men who engage in endemic workplace harassment or frat boys who assault women are behaving in a way that is 'normal', they are fulfiling the gendered expectations for expressions of heterosexual sexuality when they harass and catcall and abuse women. projecting sexual violence onto the specter of the obviously deviant, abnormal outsider is a scapegoating mechanism intended to sanitize and exonerate the cisheteropatriarchal standard of normalized and ubiquitous sexual violence

Btw OP, they added a warning NOW-- A bit too late in my opinion tho..
Okay so this new episode that came out (Episode 4) was poorly handled.
TW /// SA
- No warning before the show starts...why? And even if there is no way for Viv to add one, for some stupid ass reason, why didn't she announce to the fandom properly "Hey, this will have very deep topics and imagery that may not be suitable for all audiences."? Why have arguments on threads and fail to do this very easy thing. At least if the episode came out, people would get a heads up, and the word would spread faster PLUS people would see that you at least TRIED
- The episode opens up with a scene of CNC porno played for laughs in an episode that tackles SA. Complete tonal whiplash. Why did it have to open up with Angel showing everyone a porno? It serves no purpose other than to get a cheap laugh (that never came) out of me or anyone else who watches and because of the topic of the episode revolved around it. I'msure that if the episode WASN'T ABOUT SA, that joke would not have been there....but it is. There was legit no good reason to start this fiasco off with such a tone deaf opening.
- Charlie is actually fucking useless and a burden in this episode, serving no other purpose other than being the gateway to further the issues that befall Angel when "trying" to help. This all screams forced. Worse of all, Charlie does nothing to actually HELP Angel out of this, even though he has a clear black eye thanks to it all and literal mirrors breaking as a result of the abuse. We never see an actual development between the two thanks to her foolishness and garbage writing, and it's resolved easily as if this is some early Disney cartoon season that's on a strict deadline. Regardless of whether she apologized or not, she essentially caused the issue and did NOTHING to actually clean her mess. The goddamn B A R T E N D E R had to be used to salvage the pieces. So far, Charlie, as a character, is utterly pathetic and has been a burden to the cast twice so far. Vaggie, who tried to prove herself (moreso Vaggie's fault for going the extra mile for no reason but an obstacle nonetheless), also had an issue that involved Charlie's utter lack of a backbone. Hey, what was it that Charlie said in the pilot that her dad taught her and one of the only thingsshe learned from him? "You don't take shit from other demons"
Tumblr media
- Only one scene from the abuse shown was handled well, and it was when Charlie visited, screwed everything up, and Val asked Angel to come to his dressing room. Aside from that, the whole SA imagery is jarring. While this time, the fast pace of it all is not bad, the quick shift into it all with Angel switching from enjoying to hating, to smiling, to frowning, ALONG with the quick pace of it all with the PRIOR KNOWLEDGE SHOWN and the SONG PLAYING, I am getting mixed messages here. Imagery? Shows Angel getting assaulted multiple times with either a forced smile or for some reason ENJOYING sex with Val and the role play situations showcased, is he INTO his abuse? Lyrics? He seems to find arousal in Val controlling him. The song legit reads as follows
Tumblr media
"Addicted to this feeling, I can't help but swallow"
This doesn't read like he is "forced" it reads like he is yearning the toxic relationship. Now if this was one of the main issues with the abusive relationship, where it was a codependency built on romanticising the abuser and Angel learning to break free from that horrible view of someone who never loved him and actively harms him, this lyric would make a lot of sense....but that's not what we are shown at all. From the jump, we are shown that Angel HATES being with Val, to the point of him straight up avoiding his texts and voice messages, they actually do an okay job (despite the shoddy voice work) on showcasing how manipulative Val is and his outright explosive temper through this scene in episode 2. We see that Angel does NOT wanna have association with Val, is tired of it all, and even got drunk to down his sorrows. Yet these lyrics present it all as though it's just a very rocky love life like those songs you hear on the radio with the singer lamenting about how awful their relationship was but still miss their toxic boo-boo. It just...doesn't read like an SA song and could mean anything regarding the type of abuse he is facing. It's kinda vague in hindsight. That's MY take on the lyrics, though.
- Husk's song is a trash fire. He sees Angel is down in the dumps and proceeds to talk shit about him pretty much relaying his sorrows, saying it's okay to feed into your vices, and downplaying the actual situation at hand. So let's get this straight.
Angel- A sexual abuse victim forced into sex slavery to appease all sorts of people's sexual desires whether he likes it or not, including pleasuring his pimp who physically abuses him often all cause he sold his soul
Husk- Gambled his life away and lost his title as overlord, serves under Alastor all cause he sold his soul.
How is this even...the same at all? Even if Husk is lacking some context, he SEES that Angel normalized drinking roofied drinks and works for Val SOMEONE HUSK SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AND WHAT HE DOES but nah, screw Angel. Even if he honest to God (irony) wanted to actually help, why tf would Husk think this was sound advice? Why does Husk just SUDDENLY care? No build up, no memorable dynamic, no nothing. Realistically, CHARLIE should be the one singing with Angel or maybe Vaggie because she heard the story from Charlie. Not Husk. He is self aware enough where he knows this "advice" wouldn't work but nah. Nothing about the song makes sense. Telling someone going through it that "you're a loser" pretty much a no one, an insignificant individual, when VAL has made it clear that Angel would be nothing without him...yeah no the only reason why this whole song "worked" was cause the writers wanted it to, so Angel is happy with being a loser for being a victim of SA and selling his soul to someone who abuses him in various ways consistently.
This episode is terrible
Jarring for any newcomers
Who have no idea who these characters are

Mouthwashing, Dual Protagonists, and Captain Curly
While the vast majority of Mouthwashing is shown from Jimmy's perspective, the events leading up to the Tulpar's crash usually follow Curly. There are several interesting reasons for this, but there's one reason in particular that I'd like to focus on.
By setting Jimmy and Curly up as dual protagonists, we're invited to draw comparisons between them. Not only are they the lenses through which we view the story, they pass the role of Captain back and forth between their chapters.
It's easy to feel sympathy for Curly, given the state he spends the larger part of the game in. It can also be easy to gloss over his more subtle shortcomings when measuring him up against Jimmy.
In this post, I want to take a closer look at Curly's character. And more specifically, how he relates to one of the game's most obvious themes.
Is Curly able to deal with the consequences of his actions? Does he realize his own failures and how they harm the people around him? What does he do with the power he's granted over others?
Does Curly take responsibility?
Tumblr media
Jimmy's fixation here gives us a good jumping-off point. It's certainly possible that he's only really been told this once or twice, but because he's Jimmy he's blown it out of proportion out of spite. It's also possible he's entirely making it up because he's projecting, but I think the former is more likely if anything.
And, if I had to take a guess where he heard it from, I'd put my money on The Pony Express itself.
In the eyes of The Pony Express, a "great leader" isn't someone diligent or able to meet the needs of his crew. The real reason Curly was able to rise to the top of the ladder and become captain is because he gets the job done without rocking the boat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm establishing all this because I think it's worth examining by what metric he's being judged. Because, while it may be Jimmy who most often digs this point up, Curly doesn't disagree with him. Even in the depths of his ennui, it's important to him that not only is he the Captain, but a good one at that.
When comparing the two, that can again seem difficult to argue against. Jimmy is quick to lash out and shift blame. His resentment and insecurities often drive him to pick fights. Curly prefers to avoid conflict, but knows his position doesn't always allow him to do so. He tries to pick his battles, but when he has to get involved he focuses on de-escalating the situation.
But although their similarities are few, they do exist. And they greatly influence the narrative. Because it is from their shared selfishness, callousness, and cowardice that the entire story is born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's time to address the elephant in the room. We can't draw any conclusions about Curly's nature, his character, his role in the story, and his relationship to its themes without digging into his handling of Anya's assault, and the chain of events that follow.
I find it interesting that we never see the initial conversation Anya has with Curly about the assault. We simply know that she confided in him. He is the Captain, after all. The crew is his responsibility.
The thing is, we don't really need to know the exact conversation they shared, because we can imagine it went quite similarly to their conversation about her pregnancy.
She tells him how scared she is. She fears for her life. It never even occurred to him that she was upset about anything other than losing her job. He swears to her that everything will be fine. They'll fix this. All he has to do is talk to Jimmy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He does not talk to Jimmy.
Maybe the first time he really did intend to. He just needed time. Jimmy has always had... struggles. If we want to, we can be generous to Curly, we can assume his old problems were much less vile. Otherwise, he would have never pulled the strings to get him this job, never put him in a position of power over vulnerable people. Right? But now, this was whole new beast altogether. Because he and Jimmy go way back, he had to process this, figure out what he was even supposed to say.
But at the same time, The Pony Express had just gone gone under. He'd been struggling with dissatisfaction and indecision for so long, and now his hand has been forced. He has his own problems. And Anya seems fine, doesn't she? If she hadn't said anything, he'd never have even known there was anything wrong. It just doesn't seem that important.
Anya talks to Jimmy herself.
She's scared, she fears for her life. But now she knows now that Curly won't defend her, nor give her the means to defend herself. Still, he promises her, they'll fix this. He just has to talk to Jimmy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things are different now. He can't sit by and wait for things to work out anymore. After all, it's not only her problem anymore.
Now it's Curly's problem too. How is he supposed to find another job with this on his record? There's only one other person on this ship who understands what he's going through.
He talks to Jimmy.
And he understands. Not that what he did was wrong, of course. Not that he'd done something horrific, irreversible, cruel. But that it now had consequences, and that he wouldn't suffer them alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Curly made his decision. He chose his paper-thin illusion of peace and his eroding friendship with Jimmy over the safety and well-being of his crew. And when it all came tumbling down, he decided it was better to bury them all under the rubble than to face the struggle to rebuild.
If Jimmy hadn't been there, hadn't been his co-pilot, Curly almost certainly would not have been able to bring himself to actually follow through with something so selfish and reckless.
But Jimmy was there, and Curly made sure of that.
So, it's time to ask again. Does Curly take responsibility?
Well, yes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it's too little, too late.
As much as Mouthwashing is about Jimmy fighting furiously against the consequences of his actions, it is also about Curly being forced to watch them unfold anyway. His silence and inaction, once a choice, are inflicted upon him by his mangled body.
Jimmy may have crashed the ship, but Curly gave him the keys. And so it's fitting in the end that Curly is made to take the full weight of responsibility by the man who he helped avoid it so many times.

The one thing I'm a shame of is that I like Val's design because I think it looks cool and I think it was really creative of Vivzie to make his wings also his coat.. but obviously I really despise this character for a HUGE obvious reason
Tumblr media
Mostly because of how he's portray and what he does to Angel dust and others, and mostly because of the fact he's a pimp, he's a r*pist and overall a gross abuser. And another thing I hate about him is the fact that there a lot of Valentino stans who glorify and even ROMANTICIZE his actions/behavior too.. Stans like Raphielle (who works on the show and is a huge Valangel shipper) and then there's Dani Draws who admitted to shipping ValAngel. I would list more but the list would go for too long... also, do not harass anyone mentioned please.

I'm done. (read the full twitter thread)
The Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss fandom are FALSELY accusing me of falsely accusing someone of glorifiying a r*pist character and apparently claiming that they support P*dophilla???????????????? I never claimed that, All I did was responded to Pootis comment claiming that they did that with a simple skull emoji and then replying to another guy, explaining to them why Liking a fictional r*pist is gross. Like I said, you can like the character and it's design BUT if you liking them for being a abuser or a r*pist, then fuck off you sick fuck. It sucks that Sags got involved considering that she has a bigger following then me and she knows that she is spreading around a lie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So therefor, I'm leaving this fandom.. Because, I don't wanna be in a fanbase where people would like to twist others' words around or they choose to "shoot first, ask questions later/never".
I have stated that I'm willing to hear Valastor out and hear their side, but they NEVER and I mean NEVER REACHED OUT to me, instead they had blocked me and spun around claiming I supported what that Pootis man coming from fucking sandvich land said-
Tumblr media
Someone replying to someone with a single skull emoji doesn't mean they AGREE with the person, it means that they are shock by what their saying-- So yeah, fuck this fandom, fuck the stans. I'm outta here.. I'm just gonna stick to just watching the series and NOT interact with ya'll except for the people who critic the show /srs

Can 2024 be the year we stop using stupid fucking terms like ‘unaliving’?
Self-censorship is still censorship, and mature conversations should use mature language.
Same can be said of ‘grape’ instead of ‘rape’, ‘corn’ instead of ‘porn’.
We need to be able to discuss these things, and we also need to use that language so people who want to avoid these conversations can block the tags. Using silly language like that circumvents the space that people curate for themselves.

I do not understand why, when I talk about sexual relationships or wanting to have non-romantic sex in general, people feel the need to respond with stuff like "as long as you don’t lead people on / trick them, you’re fine", "as long as you’re open about what you want, it’s okay", or even "as long as you don’t force people to have sex with you, you’re fine."
No one would respond to a person talking about wanting a romantic relationship with "well as long you don’t abuse your partner, you’re fine" because no one would just immediately jump to that assumption.
But hearing me talk about sexual relationships and immediately thinking I might want to trick and abuse, even rape people, and need to be reminded that that is wrong, is somehow seen as normal? Why?
Just. Maybe don’t say stuff like that? Of course everything said is true. I’m aware raping people is wrong, I don’t need to be constantly reminded of the fact that people see me as a rapist-in-waiting for being AroAllo, or as a whore who leads the poor alloros who just want to have a romantic relationship on and tricks them into having non-romantic sex with me (because obviously no one would have sex with me if I were open about my intentions).
Why do people feel the need to say these things every time sex (and especially non-romantic sex) is mentioned? Why do people assume the worst possible things, to then say "well as long as you’re not a horrible piece of shit, you’re fine ig"?
Or am I just reading too much into it? Am I overreacting?

this kind of post is deeply silly because without exception 100% of the time when someone's like "if it can happen to this rich and powerful person it can happen to anyone" the thing in question has already been Happening To Anyone for ages. people have gotten away with posting Actual, non-fake revenge porn including revenge rape porn of women for years. i promise the most rich and influential poeple in the world are not bellwethers for the rest of our rights and safeties and it is never necessary to treat them like they are

So guess who's happy that Duncan (me) decided to cancel the plans of taking their girlfriend to see the Joker sequel? CW// R*pe mention as well as spoilers to the movie (i think idk, I never seen it so this could be alleged or probably some guy trolling me, feel free to correct me in the comments or simply let me know)
So on twitter someone mention that there was a scene where Joker gets r*ped and I decided to cancel my plans to see the movie because I wouldn't be able to handle such a scene like I was already stupid enough to watch the entire poison scene (from Hazbin Hotel) when it was first released because my autistic mind was curious and I ain't making that same mistake. Another user went further in detail about the scene and...
Tumblr media
Can you see why I think this could be a sick troll and NOT an actual thing that happened in the movie??? Because if this is the case, what the hell were they thinking?? I thought Poison was worse (which it's still is) but this takes the cake and I refuse to watch the scene because, ya KNOW it makes me uncomfortable. UPDATE 9/10/24
