I wonder if Sanji ever gets afraid of her daughter, and what that would do to her and their relationship. Like, I imagine he loves her very much, he would live for her (cause let's be honest Sanji's feral enough to kill for a half eaten soggy cookie), but sometimes, when the nights are a little rough and the nightmares won't let he sleep, he might flinch a little bit whenever Kuina gets near him
Hmmmm I'm not sure I entirely agree, at least not with the details here. Because here's the thing I don't think Sanji would ever be afraid *of* Kuina, for a few reasons. For one thing she doesn't visually resemble any of his siblings except maybe in the eyes but I hc that as coming from their mum Sora (so not a source of fear), and she will probably behave a bit like them but, and here's where Sanji’s other issues some in, at the end of the day she's a girl and Sanji still has this complex about girls that they're kinder and less likely to cause harm. I'm not sure Sanji would ever perceive her as a physical threat, however warranted it may or may not be.
All that being said, I do agree that Sanji will have a lot of fear surrounding Kuina but it's a bit more existential and laced with a lot of guilt and shame. "Look at what you've done to her, this is your fault, you cursed her to this horrible existence with your filthy genes. You'd rather die than be like that, is she better off dead? Oh god how could you even think that, you're a horrible father, you should be kept far away from her." Etc. Etc. So on and so forth.
If he ever does flinch away from her it'll likely be because he's afraid of hurting her through proximity, or he can't bear to look at the wrong he believes he's done to her. I do think these are problems he's aware of and is working on, though. For one thing I don't think Zoro would ever tolerate him avoiding their daughter for long and would handle the situation in as blunt a way as he is inclined to do.

I was thinking about the possibility of Killer finding a young Papyrus in a destroyed AU and taking him under his wing and I was thinking of possible reasons why he would do this, you know?
While he's with Color, I feel like, in his mind, it would feel as almost the only option. Well, rescuing him that is, not taking care of him after. But, anyway, that's what Color would do and what Color would want him to do, and, while Killer is the type to test limits, he's also desperate for the approval of those he feels are in charge (which isn't exactly the case with Color, but their whole thing is rather complicated).
That said, I think while with Color the rescue is where their interactions would stop. Color would probably help him find someone more suited to take care of young Papyrus in the Omega Timeline, and Killer isn't the type to get attached so easily so he'd be happy to let go.
Now, while he's living under Nightmare is a different story.
Mostly because, under Nightmare, his directive is not to kill anyone. Dead people don't suffer after all. But also, a universe that is almost entirely empty is pointless for the God, so he may want to get rid of that one to free up some space.
So, imagine Killer sneaks this Papyrus into the castle behind Nightmare's back and, at first, it is entirely because my guy is following the Nightmare directive: no killing unless Nightmare specifically approves of it. Going behind Nightmare's back was less intentional and more of a result of Nightmare not caring/paying very little attention to someone as hopeful as Papyrus.
Once at the castle, keeping Papy hidden and protected feels like the only way to keep respecting the no killing directive, whether it's an extended Bad Sanses situation or not. 'Cause Nightmare would lose his mind if he found out that Killer is smuggling people behind his back and he has fits of violent rage when that happens. And he doesn't think when he's angry (and, of course, Killer's the one paying the consequences for whatever he ends up doing, so no thanks). And if Dust is there, having a Papyrus anywhere near him is just a bad idea.
It would also be interesting to see how exactly Killer goes about taking care of Papy. Because, to me, in his mind he would soon start to see Papy as just either one of his cats or one of his weapons who need routine maintenance and little else. Which would be a terrible existence for the poor guy, because I don't think that Killer would be the type to talk with those much...
That does feel like Stage 2’s mindset, yes. Especially when serving Nightmare. I feel like Killer be widely torn in all directions on what to do with Papyrus under Nightmare—his instincts, feelings, and orders all sending him mixed signals.
Feelings from Stage 1–the internal horror and impeding dread, the horrific guilt and shame, yet still the selfish desire for something familiar, to try and wash away some of his sins.
His orders from Nightmare not to kill, and yet his training from Chara dictating that he kill Papyrus. He training to be attuned to Chara’s needs and wants paired with the same lingering attachment he had with Chara making him feel compelled to care for the child and basically become a doormat—instinct to bend and mold himself to Papyrus’ will the exact same way he did with Chara.
The underlying fear and resentment of yet again finding himself at the whims of a damn child that fuels Stage 3. The constant reminders that isn’t just any child, or a Chara, but a Papyrus—his biggest enemy. The one he has to kill. Impending dread of what’ll happen if he keeps trying to resist, what’ll happen if he does give in.
I’d imagine taking care of a Papyrus under Nightmare will send his Stages into a whirlwind of conflicting desires—and he’d be torn between wanting to escape and hide away from it all, but knowing he has to be present, because who knows what’ll happen if he switches into another Stage.
He wouldn’t be able to attach himself to the kid in this environment, he’d actively keep himself distant and detached, would probably avoid trying to be in higher Stages around him—and as a result, the kiddo would likely feel like Killer isn’t really..all there? Aware? He may even feel dehumanized on some level, as if a robot is taking care of him than anything real—even if this robot is being very meticulous and isn’t hurting him. Yet.
Perhaps Papyrus would feel the need to tread carefully, but may also feel a sense of safety and being seen while with Killer—he always seems to know what he wants and what he needs before Papyrus himself does. But I’d imagine he’d very confused between the “good, sad” brother (Stage 1) and the “cold, robot” brother (Stage 2.)
He has all sorts of ideas of what could happen if the kid is caught—he knows because he’s often the one doing it all, with eyes watching his every move, body acting on autopilot. He won’t sugar coat it either—he’d make it very clear to Papyrus what is likely to happen to him if he is ever seen, caught, heard. If he doesn’t listen to and follow Killer’s orders.
But ultimately I don’t think Stage 1 would want Papyrus there. With Nightmare. Even if a part of him selfishly doesn’t want to part with him either.
He can’t afford attachments, he can’t afford having more responsibilities, more burdens and drains on resources—and he will also feel guilty for thinking of his little brother like that, but he doesn’t feel he can control those thoughts. To him, the second he brought this kid within reach of himself, he’s already sealed his fate.
Nightmare wouldn’t hurt or kill this child. He’d have Killer do it. And Killer could never think to say no when he’s “like that”—even when he hesitates, and something seems..off.
Papyrus will die, he thinks. Every other Papyrus has—usually by his own hands, as he watches from behind his eyes (st1) or from a 3rd person view (st2). But maybe some small part of him, a flickering light, would want to try. Keep the kid alive until a better option is available out of the castle—even if it means dumping the kid in some neutral AU with some clothes and weapons and coin. Becoming a little faint memory in the kid’s mind, or better yet, forgotten entirely. Finding him a better brother.
(Imagine Stage 1 giving little Papyrus tips on how to handle and behave around him when he’s “like that.” Something about how he won’t hurt Papyrus, not unless “the bad man tells him to,” and to stay safe he must hide away from the bad man.)
Things will likely be different in his Good Ending though, where he’s away from Nightmare and has Color’s support and help. I think it’s in this ending where Killer would have a harder time letting go. In all this new, Stage 1 wants to cling to something familiar. Something grounding. Even if it’s painful.
If Killer is ultimately able to maintain the care for the child, would probably differ based on interpretation, adequate care and support, and how far along he is in recovery.
But also..would he even be allowed to have a child? Given his history, if the Omega Timeline has something equivalent to the CPS or a foster system, would they have to evaluate him if he ever attempted to legally adopt the Papyrus? If he has to give the kid up anyway, would any adopted or fostering family even allow a known mass murdering terrorist visitation—supervised or not, rehabilitating or not?
Even if Killer ever wanted to become a parent or caretaker, he’d likely face heavy scrutiny and judgment during and after the whole thing. Maybe some brave souls would even try to step in and remove the kid themselves.

Whumperless Whump Event: Day 22 Prompt- Better out than in: Nervous Stomach / Vomiting / “I got your hair, it's fine.” @seth-whumps
Fandom: Doctor Who Characters: River Song | Melody Pond
[Warning: References to child abuse and endangerment, vomiting, references to intentional harm to a child, references to intentional food poisoning of a child]
AO3 Link!
Melody leaned over the toilet, her body hurt. Everything hurt and the didn't care! They did this to her and it hurts ("When you kill the Doctor we won't have to do this to you anymore, do you understand Melody?"). They did this! Madame Kovarian did this to her, she's the reason Melody is bent over the toilet.
She's the one who poisoned Melody's food to 'build up her tolerance'. She's the one who hit Melody for not doing as she commanded. She's the one who made Melody watch as people were killed and hurt for her mistakes.
"Ugh!" more food came up and out, tears were pouring from her eyes and it hurt!
It hurt and she couldn't do anything! She wants her parents! She wants the Doctor to come and steal her away so that no one can ever hurt her again!
Melody doesn't want to be bent over a toilet as her food comes up and out because Madame Kovarian decided that this would be a good motivator. It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!

Red snow

Character death, minor descriptions of blood, child in danger, cruelty toward the dying

The winter was cold. One of the coldest the little planet had ever seen…perhaps it was an omen.
It certainly felt like one…
A renowned witch hunter had made a stop to the little back water planet, and it was sending the young mother into disarray. There were whispers of his abilities to sniff out witches, and she feared for her and her poor son’s lives. Thus she quickly set to work attempting to hide her boy.
“Wake up my little starlight.” she crooned to the tiny eight year old, gently shaking him awake. it was the crack of dawn on the chilly planet, a light snow had began and was set to likely grow stronger over the course of the dim day. It was a strange time to wake the boy. He yawned, still groggy with sleep as he staggered to his feet. Unaware of why his mother had gotten him out of bed at such a time, before even the sky had awoken fully! She ushered her son to the small entrance way of their humble little home. Carefully helping him get on his winter garments.
“Mama?” He sleepily asked with a big yawn, rubbing his eyes whilst she wrapped his scarf about his neck “where are we going?”
She’d pause, a small and sharp inhale as she forced a brave face and a warm smile for her son “we’re going on a little trip! I thought you might like to see the forests and- the little snowy creatures you love so dearly”
She’d nod, tenderly grasping her son’s hands together as he seemed to brighten up at that, kind of bouncing a bit as he clutched her in return.
“okay mama! I can finally show you the baby bunnies Tulip had!!” he smiled as he clasped his mother’s larger hands by two of her fingers and tried to drag her along. She hesitated, furrowing her brows but kept her face from faltering into tears like it desperately wanted to.
“Yes my little starlight….” She paused for a moment, trying to stay composed, “come here“ she would pull the small shape to her, wrapping her arms around the young boy and carefully squeezing him. A sharp inhale as she kissed his little forehead. The woman would then lift his little hat her son had been gifted many seasons ago, setting it upon his tiny head. The fuzzy hat was several sizes too large for him but delighted the child all the more. He howled with giggles and a big smile, gently clasping his mother’s fingers once more as he rushed along for the door. This time the woman followed, glancing back for a moment as she grabbed a large bag and took in the last glance of her humble little house. She frowned for a moment, Fighting her own need to stay strong for the boy. Mouthing the words carefully to the picture which rested above the mantle, ‘I’ll protect him’ and with that, she shut her door for the final time.
₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
They’d been walking for a few hours, the sky finally awake with what little sunlight could trickle through the growing snow that was raining down over the pillowy landscape. The little boy had been ecstatic the whole way, playing and jumping through the snow as his mother hurried him onward. Each encouraging word bringing them closer and closer, before finally they’d arrived. It was the outskirts of a forest, one the small child delighted in seeing as he rushed for the tree line! Though his mother caught his shoulder and pulled him back.
“Starlight.” She began, the child recognized the seriousness in her tone as he nodded. “I want you to go find your little friend, tulip?” He’d nod to let his mother know he followed, “yes. Take refuge with her in the hollow tree, okay?”
He hesitated, but slowly nodded again, “where will you be mama?” The woman smiled, gently rubbing his face as she felt her own grow hot and tears threaten to fall.
“Oh, mama simply needs to grab a few supplies and I know how much you love the forest. Here, take your pack just incase I’m gone for a while.” The woman would direct. Her young boy nodded, obediently accepting the bag and slipping his arms through its straps as he smiled up to her. Unaware of the threat which loomed over them.
“Okay mama!! Will you make the yummy dessert I like for dinner tonight?” He pleaded with a clasp of his hands and big wide eyes. She forced herself to keep smiling as she ruffled the hat upon his little head
“Of course my little starlight, I’ll make all your favorite foods. To keep you nice and warm.” She nearly choked on the last words, her small boy’s face lighting up as he cheered. Jumping up and down as he tightly hugged his mother. “Oh thank you mama thank you!!”
She nodded, feeling her arms weaken as she gripped her child. It hurt her heart, she didn’t want to let go. Still, she pulled back. Placing yet another kiss on his forehead she rubbed his cheek with a weak smile “of course darling. Now run along, mama has lots of work to do.”
He’d nod, waving goodbye to his mother as he bounded off to explore the woods and find his little friend tulip! His mother stood there at the edge of the forest for a moment, tenderly reaching out for her boy as he bounded off beyond the trees. Simply standing… watching…
And there, she wept.
₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
In a moment she was gone, as fast as her legs would carry her, she couldn’t lead him to her son. No- no she couldn’t let him get to her boy. The man- no. No man, he was too- disgraceful to be a man. The thing perused, the man’s voice boomed. Declaring her a heretic and a witch, who feared the emperor’s justice, as the men who road beside him howled his echoes. The thunder of hooves was all she could hear as they gave chase, she knew she couldn’t keep it up for long. Her legs could only go so far in the thick snow that blurred her vision and made her boots heavy as lead. She wouldn’t give up. She couldn’t. Her precious son, he needed her. At least…that’s what she told herself so she could ignore the growing pit in her stomach. This looming dread that deep down she knew, she could only run so fast.
A cry of pain left her as she felt one of the men strike her, she was plunged into the snow as she tumbled to a halt. Panting for breath, she watched the well dressed man dismount, stalking to her as she gripped her now bloodied back of the head. Big tear filled eyes looked up to the man as he sneered down at her. “Now then little witch, why don’t you listen to my proposal?”
He crooned with a smile as he took a knee before the woman, clutching her chin with his gloved hand. “You tell me where that boy is, and I’ll think about not turning you BOTH over to the black ships to be killed for the golden throne, no matter how honorable such an undertaking would be for the likes of you.” He’d smirk, proud of himself and the venom his words held. The woman stared up at him, shaking as she looked at his face with its loathing of her and its smug grin. Shivering she opened her mouth to speak, the inquisitor smiling further assuming he had won.
“I hope the emperor has a special hell planned just for you. So he can show you how far you’ve fallen from his light.” She snapped at him, a sneer formed on her lips. The hunter, clearly taken aback by her words, just sort of froze. Taking her opportunity she lunged forward, a balled fist hardened with all her rage and all her might slammed into the man’s face. He screamed with agony as a loud crack came— when he recovered? He gripped his now broken nose “why you—“
He was unable to get the words out as she delivered another swift blow to his center of mass, causing him to double over in pain. She took the opportunity to run, trying to make her escape for the tree line.
“KILL HER!” The man demanded as he staggered to his steed. His field roaring with excitement as their own mounts rushed off. She had put up a fight but he would not let her live after such an injustice, he would see to it she was put down like all her kind deserved.
The woman could feel her adrenaline pumping, her heart racing as she pushed her body to limits it couldn’t recall ever reaching. She had to make it- had to survive for her boy! Continuing on and on she kept pushing- she was almost there almost to the tree line! Almost- oh darling little starlight! Mama was coming baby and she wouldn’t let you-
The world almost seemed to slow to a halt as the first shot came. A loud thundering crack from a gun, followed by wail of agony. Several more rang out, white fluffy earth was slowly stained a deep crimson. No more sounds came after that, nothing but the harsh rustling of the cold winds which carefully churned the planets surface. One of the other men would carefully approach the hunter who clutched his gun. He’d lean into the leader, a low whisper slipped from his throat
“My lord, shall we find the boy?” He inquired as the other bed shifted and watched with anticipation. The howling wind sounded more like a battle cry than the unbiased force of nature it was, calling to the men.
“Yes.” The hunter finally uttered, a hand slowly raising before the field had a chance to run off. “But, I want him alive.” He would instruct, slowly lowering his hand. With that, the men raced off on the backs of their steeds wailing and bellowing as they searched for the boy. The hunter however waited. Holding back and slowly approaching the woman. He dismounted, stepping over to her as he used his foot to nudge the lifeless body to face the sky.
“Oh don’t cry,” a cruel smile pursed the man’s lips as he knelt down, cupping the woman’s face as she gasped for air with the last bit of life she had, “your boy will make a fine apprentice, so I may teach him of the emperor light and to hate heretics like you.” His voice was barely above a whisper as he leaned towards the woman. Horror struck her face as she gave a rattling call, and tears rolled down her face. The hunter showed no sympathy, smiling wider as he nodded, Slowly rising as he watched the life leave the woman.
“A very good apprentice indeed.” He echoed as slowly he mounted the steed and set off for the woods, and the howling cries that echoed through it.
There was much work to be done.

*Tape Begins*
*Her voice is more hoarse than last time and it almost sounds like she's been drinking and crying. Her accent is thick.*
Hey, it's me again. Uh...I got thrown off of a cliff over the waterfall... Landed on my back pretty hard, now my hip's actin' up. Too young to experience sciatica, right?
*Awkward laughing*
I think I died again or blacked out or...somethin'.
I just kept seein' cult-lookin' shit in the abyss I was stuck in.
And there were eyes. Followin' me around everywhere.
...
And I saw Dakota.
God, Dakota.
Where do I begin?
Dakota was standin' in the center of a circle, starin' distantly at the ground in front of him.
He was missin' his arms below his elbows, lookin' like they were ripped off. And he wasn't bleedin' blood. It looked more like a thick, inky, black substance. The flesh of his cheeks was torn open and his jaw unhinged.
His eyes were sunken and dull, and his skin was a sickly pale, almost grey color. He had this...he had a fuckin' crown of nails diggin' into his skull.
Kids shoes and socks were missin' and he was standin' in a puddle of his own blo...ink...?
Kept sayin' "JOIN US, MOM. HE WILL PROTECT YOU."
I dunno what the other members of Observer's old group had to go through. If it was anythin' like this...I just got so much more respect for Thousand Eyes.
If not...what if it's because Dakota's a nephilim?
What if?
*She trails off and starts crying, which turns into sobbing. The sobbing eventually breaks off into the occasional cluster of hysterical laughter. This lasts for about 10 minutes before the tape cuts out in static*
*Tape Ends*

After watching Transformers: Superlink/Energon, I don't hate Kicker. I mean I was annoyed by him sometimes, but I didn't came to hate him. Kicker could have been writen better. Plus, considering his upbringing, he could have been worse. Kicker could had end up becoming a villain instead.
The character I actually hate is his father. Seriously, this man treated his son like a tool and becomes surprise when Kicker doesn't want to listen to him. He literally put his little son in space by himself while there was a high chance everything could have gone wrong.
And to a lesser extent, I also dislike Miranda since she allowed her husband to put their son in danger instead of threatening to leave Brian and take the kids with her.

(OPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT CONTENT, ACT 3/ ACT 5 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT) @biblicallyaccuratecrow I hope you don't mind me adding my two cents in analyzing Bonnie as well because I also adore this scene and Bonnie as a character. This scene ABSOLUTELY left an impression on Siffrin and he internalizes that the entire game. It’s so so fascinating to me how well-crafted the dialogue and callbacks to certain moments are it makes me run around in a circle
Like when the MAL DU PAYS fight was happening and it was speaking as Bonnie, the dialogue reminded me of the stupid rotten adults scene. Granted in the context of stupid rotten adults / Memory of Promise achievement Bonnie lashed out because they didn’t like the party talking about death- about how each and every one of them were fully on board with sacrificing their lives if it meant protecting them. This is notably different from the Mal Du Pays version of Bonnie who is voicing all of Siffrin’s fears and self loathing on the situation ( their feelings of having personally failed to protect Bonnie and that they should’ve died instead to protect them)
Shoutout to the @isat-script-project for providing the dialogue from the game for easy access to everyone else, the screenshots I used are from that website/ blog specifically so be sure to check that out if you hadn’t done so! You can find a link to the website here. Anyway moving on to the analysis:
Stupid Rotten Adults:
Tumblr media
Act 5 (Failed Friend Quest)
Tumblr media
(Act 5 MAL DU PAYS fight)
Tumblr media
Like when you analyze what Bonnie says in stupid rotten adults versus act 5 both of them outright tell Siffrin that he should die. It wasn’t pleasant and genuinely was hurtful, even if we the player and also Siffrin in hindsight post game know that Bonnie didn’t mean to say that and was just a kid verbally lashing out in a high stress situation.
I said it before a while ago and so have many others when analyzing Bonnie or the rest of the cast but I’m not surprised Bonnie reacted so viscerally to Siffrin getting hurt for their sake. Not only has it happened before in the past prior to the events of the game (the sadness incident) but given what little information that we know about Bonnie’s older sister Petronille, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Nille probably had a similar mindset to protect their younger sibling too. (Nille being the one to run away from home at a young age because it’s heavily implied that it was an unsafe/ abusive environment and decided to raise Bonnie all by herself). I wouldn’t be surprised if she got frozen in time while protecting their sibling, telling Bonnie to run or go find help and prioritizing their safety first before anything else. That sort of survivor's guilt can heavily affect anyone- so it’s not a shock that it hit home for someone as young as Bonnie (who at the youngest would be 10 and at the oldest would be 12 because they’re stated to only be a preteen).
There’s hints of how much Bonnie dislikes the idea of people dying/ getting hurt for their sake all throughout the game- even before you get to the ACT 3 Friend Quest or even the Memory of Promise/ Stupid Rotten Adults achievement. In general Bonnie repeatedly expresses that they want to contribute to the party in a meaningful way. Bonnie wants to help too! They want to have an important role and be able to protect their family and be viewed as someone equal rather than be viewed as “just a little kid” that the party has to babysit or coddle. A lot of the party is aware of these feelings and do their best to make sure Bonnie feels included even if they’re not allowed to be actively fighting by letting them be the one to hold all the important items/ potions they find while traversing the house and being the one to help make the snacks so that the party doesn’t go hungry on the journey. Even when they aren’t a primary fighter in the group, unlike the prologue where Bonnie didn’t get to fight at all nor did they hold the potions (it was Odile, for some reason oddly enough lol) Bonnie in ISAT has a random chance of being able to land a hit on any enemy the party encounters / do the finishing blow for an attack and also is the one to throw the bomb if the player decides to craft one during the loops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of this characterization can be missed on a first playthrough especially if you don’t do things like analyzing the different sadnesses or paying attention to the different bathroom conversations that the party has. You can find the dialogue that I’m presenting currently in this analysis on the official isat wiki:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When the party encounters the two sadnesses Accablement and Abattement you get this very interesting conversation when examining the sadnesses for the first time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it makes the game all the more impactful to see all those little moments where every character, not just Siffrin is allowed to not be perfect or respond in the best way all the time. They feel all the more real and human in how they interact with Siffrin but also how the cast interacts with each other throughout the game even if we aren’t playing in their pov.
isat thoughts: stupid rotten adults isn't talked about enough
y'all can we talk for a minute about stupid rotten adults event because dear god i have thoughts
[tw for talk of death and suicidal ideation]
[woe, spoilers be upon ye!]
it's honestly one of the more tragic party interactions in my opinion, purely because in this case... siffrin was trying to do the right thing, or at least what they thought was right. they tried to use touch to comfort them, something that they had heard would help, and had it rebuked. Which isn't bonnie's fault, really. they're a kid going through something that a kid should never have to go through. we don't acknowledge enough how fucked up it is for bonnie to be with the party on their journey, even if it leads to them bonding with the group. so it's not surprising that it could come out like this at an age when kids may not have the words or emotional intelligence to express how they're feeling (lord knows some adults never learn either)
but then.
they hit you with this:
Tumblr media
and i remember just full stop going "holy fuck bonnie" when this happened. because holy shit, in the context of everything that siffirn is going through, especially if you already had the dagger interaction... they have. they have done that. over and over again, they've died. This isn't directed at isabeau, who was the one to bring it up in the first place, or mirabelle and odile who answer, it's directed to Siffrin, who lost their eye trying to save them, and who could have died for bonnie but didn't. Bonnie doesn't want to lose any of them, but they lash out because of the stress, and direct it at the person who they hold guilt over.
But from a Siffrin POV... it's similar to the time travel joke with isa. it's just another reminder of the ways in which they've failed, and another nail in the coffin of their misgivings regarding what the party thinks about them. All of the things bonnie says here- that siffrin should die, that nobody cares what happens to them, that they are hated- these are all things echoed in act 5 by siffrin.
so i just have to wonder... how much of this conversation stuck with Siffrin? they can resolve it by completing the quest and reassuring bonnie that nothing will happen, if you've done the king quest then you know... something already has happened. And maybe in a way siffrin sees bonnie's anger towards them as a sort of confirmation that it was their fault, and that Bonnie trusted them to keep them all safe, and he failed.
anyways im sick and this probably is rambling and disconnected im goin to take a nap

You've been walking through these twisting, endless halls for a while, now. The second floor seems to be stretching itself further and further, as if the House was trying to keep you away from something. Once a home, then a prison of familiarity, and now an unrecognizable labirynth.
Tumblr media
Isabeau has picked Bonnie up for their own safety, after they almost fell into a hole that was seemingly caused by reality being ripped at the seams. Just thinking about what could've happened makes your stomach twist.
....Is it just you, or have you not encountered a sadness in a while?
Well, it's not exactly surprising. Nothing could survive here for too long. Even a sadness could easily fall into one of the bits of pitch black, and-
🪨: FINALLY!
Your thoughts are interrupted by Isabeau yelling out, knocking you out of your zoned-out state. You very quickly see the cause of this sudden change.
🔷️: Gems alive, how long did this take? All for just one door...
🍳: This place crabbing sucks.
Tumblr media
The entrance to the third floor stands before you.
You work the door open...
Tumblr media
...And see something you cannot describe.

when the snap happened, sarah's two youngest went in the blip, leaving her and her eldest daughter abigail left to handle the aftermath. sarah dove into a deep state of depression, causing her to turn to substances in order to get through each day. for the most part, she managed to still be there for abigail, until one fateful night that went horribly wrong. she partied too hard, trying to lift her spirits, and it ended with sarah being arrested for child endangerment when her daughter drank too much when she wasn't looking. For a first time offense, she was in prison for two years. it took a lot of work to repair the relationship she had with her daughter, but they managed to repair it and would argue it's better than it was before now. she hasn't let herself get that far since then, and has been there for abby since that night.

After a low-turnout school board election in which several far-right members joined their ranks, they hired a Christian law firm, decided to begin banning books and reopened the bathroom issue. Board President Matthew Gelazela, who was elevated to his post after previously serving as the board’s most vocal bomb-thrower, pointed to Red Lion’s discriminatory policies as something to aspire to.
Now, upon the advice of that law firm — the Harrisburg-based Independence Law Center — the board approved spending $8,700 to cut windows so passersby can look into the so-called “gender-identity” student bathrooms.

To add on to this, this isn’t to say i think Killer himself would exactly be bad with children.
I say this because from the moment he was created—before he was even begin to ask himself any questions about who he was, what he was, why he existed, what he wanted—he knew one thing. What Chara wants, desires, asks, needs—all of that comes first.
If he wants to avoid being punished, hurt, killed—if he wants to continue to exist, Chara comes first. And if he continues to be allowed the right to exist long enough, maybe he can even one day begin to look for the answers to his questions.
This means he must quickly learn to adapt to any role Chara wants from him, needs from him—long before he even begins to understand himself. This means he must be their tool, their weapon, their lab rat, their attack dog, their stress toy, their wall to throw things at and vent to, their pillow, their blanket.
But he also must be their mirror. Their partner in crime, their best friend, their caregiver, their parent, their brother, their pet, their furniture. Theirs.
These behaviors hinge on his survival. They bypass logical thinking and are pure instinct by this point. They’re ingrained and conditioned into him. He likely got to the point where he did it all without thinking or hesitating. It was in his best interests to operate this way, and in turn, in Chara’s interests.
Meaning any seemingly innocent thing a child does can and would trigger him, even if Killer is able to catch and stop himself.
If he isn’t ordered to care for or look after that child, a crying one could trigger urges and intrusive thoughts on how to silence that child—or flashbacks to all the times children cried while he watched himself (while Chara watched him) hurt and torture them.
If he is ordered to care to or attend a child, a crying one could trigger him into attempting to offer himself up to them in whatever way they need to stop crying. And he’d have to actively stop himself from doing it.
Being cued like that, as soon as he’s able to realize that he was cued—either before he offers himself up, or only some point after if he’s not able to recognize it in the moment—would be both deeply disorienting and terrifying for him.
He’d feel weak, he’d feel powerless and controlled, and somewhere deep down he’d resent that child for “controlling” him. He can’t help but think of them as similar to Chara, and that they did it on purpose.
That they’re a threat to him and his autonomy—but still, his conditioning would cause him to repress and dismiss any emotion as meaningless and irrelevant if he thinks he has no choice but to be around that child. But somewhere even further down, he’d want to hurt them. To hurt them like they’re hurting him.
He’d want to dissociate away from the reality of it—but he can’t afford to remove himself from the reality that harming a kid if he’s been ordered to care for them would have dire consequences if he failed. Which means—something that could keep him grounded somewhat, such as pain.
Which would be a strange thing for a child to witness if they noticed their caretaker harming themself in someway for some reason—and may attempt to reach out and touch, to help. Which could end badly for the kid, or in a situation where Killer has to restrain himself—badly for him.
He wouldn’t want this kid touching or helping him, but he wouldn’t think to refuse them or stop them if he’s been ordered to watch them or care for them—the touch could potentially be grounding enough too, even if this is one of those moments he doesn’t want to acknowledge is real but is being forced to do so. The resentment towards the kid would grow and continue being repressed, which would likely feed into Stage 3.
was thinking about stage 2’s views and outlook on children in general and at first I was like “that’s kinda dark” but then I was like, yeah it is dark and kinda fucked up that’s the point.
this is a man in a conditioned dissociative state who spent an unknown amount of time being coerced and manipulated and tortured by a god like being with a child’s face to learn how to torture and murder children thousands of times under threat of violence torture and death without any outward signs of hesitation mercy or guilt until he was able to do it without blinking or a second thought.
of course he’d probably dehumanize kids and feel a deep indifference and apathy towards them if not deeply repressed resentment and see them as burdens or liabilities and not believe in the concept of childhood innocence and have a deep rooted but hidden suspicion and maybe even fear/disconfort of anything kids do naturally. crying? manipulation. tantrums? want something from him. innocent? pretending.
kids would probably basically just be like mini adults to him, and equally as unreal as everyone else. just as capable as equal violence as anyone or anything—they’re just small. and yet being around them still may make him feel under threat and powerless. as if he’s actually the small one, and the tables would flip on him if they realized that.
