Monty tending to imitate how other people sound like corvids can do. He laughs like Esther, and I mean exactly like Esther, sometimes he says things and its in Edwin's lilt. He doesn't mean to, and its always a little unsettling

Anyone else spend an ungodly amount of time processing and theorizing about the fact that Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows in the book canonically has tattoos despite being severely haphephobic? D'you think he just sat down one night and thought to himself like an average teenage boy; "Wouldn't it be cool to have a tattoo? I bet tons of other gangs here in the Barrel have them. Maybe Inej likes tattoos..." And then just did it. Just started tattooing himself I mean, he wouldn't let anyone else do it for him!

I'm also realizing that this might mean that he has a secret artistic side not many get to see, yet is always kind of on display every time his tattoos show! (Note - He showed a little bit of an aptitude for memorizing poetry in the show, as very briefly shown in the last episode. Just saying, even if it's not relevant to the books, it's still a point to consider.)

do you think people study morrigan's painting hundreds of years later, wondering if her anger was a mask for the grief she was feeling for her herself, perhaps directed at her father for allowing this to happen, or even at fate themselves for cutting her life string so short.

and then they find records of what her funeral casket looked like and it's just like... oh! she was probably just pissed about how FUGLY it was.

Crow!Xian except it's a modern cultivation au where Wei Wuxian is cursed to be a crow and he spends it hanging out on Lan Wangji's balcony cawing and shouting to get his attention and save him.

lwj just trying to enjoy his morning tea on the balcony and crow!wwx screeching at him and so lwj gives him one of his biscuits and crow!wwx just looks into the camera like this wasn't what i wanted but i mean i will take it i guess and eats the biscuits happily as lwj just watches him.

he sneaks in one day because crow!wwx is smart enough to figure out how to open a sliding door and uses paint to paint the entire room and write I AM WEI YING but crows don't have the best hand eye coordination so when lwj sees it he's just like "pretty drawing crow friend" with a polite head pat that makes crow!wwx screech but also he likes it

lwj eventually figures it out when crow!wwx caws the notes to wangxian and even in the horrible screechy noise thats still somehow in tune, lwj recognizes immeadiately and is like "that crow is my wei ying."

he tries true love's kiss and like gives him a peck on the beak but it's doesn't work and crow!wwx is all huffy because his first kiss with lwj is as a crow and isnt that unfair.

(eventually they figure out the array and get him back to normal and have lots of make up kisses but every once in a while when wwx burps it comes out like a crow's caw and he jumps. lwj thinks it's cute and gives him more biscuits and kisses)

I will literally never stop thinking about the kanej scene with the geraniums. The concept of Inej’s dad saying to get a boy who knows her favorite flower and getting her mom geraniums all the time. And then her and Kaz knock over a bunch of flowers, and they’re geraniums and she tells him they’re her mom’s favorite, and Kaz teases her just a little. It’s probably my favorite Kanej moment. Because Inej realizes then that she doesn’t want that fairy tale boy her father has wished for her. She’s not the kind of person who could even live with that kind of boy. She is, however, the kind to make grand escapes with a boy, to fall for the boy that would kill for her, that creates elaborate, reckless plans just to get her back. This moment is such a pivotal turn for their relationship because it shows us that Kaz isn’t a boy she dreamed about as a little girl, but he’s still the one she wants.

summer is dying early this year. perhaps it is a summer of death, of the snapped sunflower that was eleven feet tall before the wind took it, of a deer still splattered on a windshield, of my cat slowly getting skinnier. the summer of shelf fungus on a downed tree’s corpse, of the power lines spooled on the road after a bad storm, of the volunteer squash plant in my front yard flowering but not fruiting for lack of pollination, living but unable to carry on beyond a single iteration. it had a younger sister, once, across the sidewalk to our porch, before I squared the first one in brick to ward off the lawnmower.

it's barely August and already the night breeze is taunting me with hints of the ice to come. it's spreading up the stalk and bursting cell walls with spikes of remembrance and anticipation of what winter truly does to me. fall is lovely but it leads to the season of my bones being covered in hoarfrost and my brain cracking apart like a calving glacier, and I want to spend as little time as possible in the dark. so I cling to what summer is leaving behind, the baskets of peaches at the farmers’ market and the sunburn warming my cheeks. I hope the turning leaves burn bright enough to stave off winter for a while.

physical description ; crow stands at about 5'7" without armor, 5'11" with. his features are angular and sharp, with a grey complexion that seems otherworldly. he has white markings below both eyes that lead into a small chevron-like mark on his forehead, and luminescent orange eyes. he has an undercut all around with the right side completely shaved, black hair combed to the left and angled to a point just about jaw-length. there's a shock of white in the front running from scalp all the way down to the ends, a result from uldren sov's time in the prison of elders. he is very muscular, most notably in the shoulder and arm area. crow also has long elf-like ears that are covered in ear piercings, sharpened canines and an almost uncanny look to him — some other slight signature looks of the awoken that were born in the distributary.

light abilities ; he's most at home in solar light, and though he is still getting used to his abilities and whatnot, tends to be a bit clumsy. however his overall skill usually prevails, and crow's beginning to see the successes stack up in the face of the past failures. he has not dabbled with darkness, but has been tempted on more than one occasion. he does not want anything to do with stasis, but ponders the idea of strand.

brief history & personality ; crow has come a long way in the few years he's been alive as a lightbearer, and has only recently begun referring to himself as a guardian. in the early days it was nothing but survival, assuming every single creature wanted to obliterate him and glint for past sins he had no recollection of ever committing. living in that sort of way, that lonely way, left him bitter and melancholic ; the fear and uncertainty almost driving him to a point of extreme paranoia.

after savathûn had showed him every single moment of his past life, uldren sov, crow had become angry, resentful, and scared. it was a critical moment in his life, a critical moment in his mental health and it was the lowest point he had ever been in - counting his time with spider, as well.

after having eris intervene and quite literally having to face uldren sov, crow is now in a fairly good place in present days. he's quick-tongued and sharp, but is warm and holds so much love in his heart. he's an enjoyer of a few good jokes here and there, and wants nothing more than to be able to connect to the people around him. to understand and to be understood.

So here's the thing. I don't think Monty had real feelings for Edwin. I think he had hero worship, here was someone new and exciting and doing all the things that Monty wasn't brave enough to do (stand up to Esther). He had a schoolyard crush (ooo pretty boy)

But thats as far as his feelings extended. To Monty, Edwin is a shiny trinket, something he's infatuated with but the feelings don't run deeper than that.

Not that he knows that. Boy has had human feelings for like 2 weeks. He thinks he's in love.
