Ultimate Enemy in DP in DC world

Okay so, I think we can all concede that logically in an au where danny phantom takes place within the dc universe, Ultimate Enemy's bad timeline would not happen. Like, Dan would not be able to take over the world, even with Vlad's ghost half helping him.

(though i do really like the takes of how that would happen, even if i don't ultimately agree with the end result. It's a fun story and a great opportunity for angst.)

But! I have an idea! I propose that the dark danny timeline would be in line with the evil teen titans timeline. The one with cloned Bart and Kon, champion of Ares Cassie, and, of course, batman with a gun Tim.

No, not just because I recently finished reading the 2003 run of teen titans.

(actually that's the major reason, yeah. it was a pretty good comic and i think it'd be cool if other people read it too)

But because I think it'd be interesting if it was a East titans vs west titans vs some ghost taking over the midwest and a majority of canada.

(does dc have any canadian heroes? I bet they do, but I've just never heard of any...)

And!! As a bonus!! Danny in the future would've probably gotten into a tussle or smth with the titans, which might lead to an uneasiness working with the present version of them. If he recognizes them. Like, Kon and Cassie I could see him knowing, Bart was on the good side iirc, but Tim?? No, no, he had a mask! A very distinct mask.

Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is that Danny totally thinks Batman snaps one day.

Despite his efforts, he's just a few feet shy of Riz, limp and unconscious and hurtling downwards, just like he was at the Row and the Ruction. Fabian, once again, is too slow and weak and incompetent to help him. Fabian screws his eye shut, half because he can't stand to watch Riz's body hit the ground and half because he feels like if he just believes hard enough, he can somehow save him. - I thought too hard about the time Fabian summoned a fire elemental that saved Riz's life and also kissed him and then nobody ever mentioned it again. This is the result.

(i caught FEELINGS when reading about this moment in the sophomore campaign, embellished and seen through the eyes of a desperate fabian. there's something about fabian being sincere and brave that always hits me in the chest like a hammer.)

(this is THE fic that got me into the ship. fabian's feelings of admiration and love for riz shines through and i'm so in love with how in love fabian is. seeing it from his point of view made me realize just how good of a person and character riz gukgak is. love this fic so much!)

(*SCREAMS* god, it hit me so hard how all the bad kids grew up so much from freshman year?? they're such different people in sophomore year compared to the beginning. every single character, including the side characters, are going Through It and i wanted to hug all of them so. bad. nfewiofpewa absolutely a must read, i love every single character here so so much!!)

(i've never been into this ship but my god they make it work here in the most delightful slowburn i've read in a long while. i am rooting for them so hard, they're trying to change the world and make it better and i am so here for it! yes! disestablish the corrupt power structures of konoha from the very beginning! hell yeah!!!)(also kakashi's growth and characterization makes me want to cry he's doing so well considering all the bullshit he's lived through fnewfew)

In a world obsessed with killing and dying, Seiko is mostly concerned with chasing off her boredom. The Academy wasn’t exactly intellectually stimulating, but dying in the second shinobi war sounded like a long walk off a short pier. Everyone is always so stressed about avoiding attention, or min-maxing skills in situations like this. Seiko is of the opinion that those people need to chill the hell out. Maybe play a little shogi. Death comes for them all anyways. Better to enjoy this all while it lasts. (genius self insert stumbles into disrupting a timeline with the intentionality of an elephant trampling a very fancy tea shop.) (updates weekly-ish.)

(*cackles* i love how built the world and relationships are in this fic. the SI is not overpowered, actually intelligent but not omnipresent, and has actual social skills instead of being an oblivious airhead. i appreciate the time and care that's taken to build the friendships the SI has and am eager to see how the plot turns out in the future!)

Screw the Hokage for that. * * * * * * * * * * When the Sandaime showed him Naruto’s apartment, he didn’t think that was going to be the tip of the iceberg that was the shitshow of his soon-to-be team. But as it turned out, Naruto wasn't the only one with a less-than-optimal home life. And as it turned out, Kakashi was apparently the only person in Konoha who cared.

(this story was written in the year between s1 and s2. the character is based in the little we knew of s1 show!Anthony, pulling the rest of him and the world needed from the books.)

(it feels insane to me now that this was the first fic i read in this fandom. this isn't even my fucking fandom, i never even watched the show or read the books but god, god, this made me cry more than 10 fucking times. i can't remember the last time my heart ached so badly for a character, and anthony bridgerton is a phenomenal character indeed.)

The record of his life before he fought the Six-Eyes brat is a long, impossibly white scroll of nothing -- but written on it in faint letters is the name of a child, a child with a delicate name that brushed the heavens, spun a prayer into letters; a name that began with an M, and it ended in i, too. “Maki,” he says again. “I think you’re my daughter.” -------- Toji makes a mistake. It changes everything.

(*running around throwing glitter like a sparkling system* and you get found a found family! and you get a found family! and you-)(but seriously, this is the one and only fic i'll read from this fandom, i legit don't care about anything else except these fuckers in this fucking fic. they are all disasters and i love that every single character here is traumatized and still somehow ruining themselves while thriving?? it's amazing.)

Yes, she's gonna bite someone to get a bes'bev. No, she's not forgetting where she's come from but she cannot grieve for a lifetime. Not when this life has so much potential. Has so much to offer. Not when she knows exactly how well Mandalorian and Jedi cultures fit together. Absolutely not, especially since she knows Jaster Mereel has a 700 page love letter written to his people to publish. She's going to get her hands on it and read it if it's the last thing she does.

(*breathes* i need this to update so bad. i usually hate SI fics in star wars, but this fic is amazing?? again, i NEED TO KNOW where this is going, my impatience is clawing my brain.)

Clinging to that one sentence and grappling with all the implications buried within it as the Force around him pulses with tension. ‘For...for us? For me?’ What can that possibly mean? ---------------- Or; the Clones are really, and truly, perfectly made for the Jedi. The real issue is that it seems the Jedi are just as perfectly made for the Clones. This throws a major wrench in the works for the Darkside when the Jedi aren't very willing to let their men die. Not even on the senate's orders.

(i keep rereading this, i'm so obsessed with this kind of trope where people can read others' souls and just know who they are. this is the Shit for me, i was doomed from the start fnewifoewaef)

They’ve both heard all the philosophical bullshit, of course. Poems about your soul forever seeking its other half, impassioned treatises they were supposed to read in high school English about how you know where your own limbs are, quotes from long-dead guys about physical distance but hearts taking up the same space--that kind of bullshit. Maverick never put much stock in that kind of thing--he’d hated school. It probably shouldn’t have been surprising that Ice also really did not care about the science or philosophy--they were supposed to be perfect for each other, after all. (Or: There’s a handshake in the O Club the first night of Top Gun, and the very bearing of “magnetic North” shifts permanently under Ice and Mav’s feet)

(soulmate fic!! it's done so well and the relationship negotiations and trying to make it work is so up my alley. it's not an instant love soulmate fic, which i appreciate a lot, and i just love this author's characterization of of ice and maverick. definitely recommend this author's other works too, i just love the way they write in general, in whatever fandom they are in XD)

(i want to kiss the author, ice's characterization here made me laugh so many times, omfg. absolute treasure of a fic! the narration and ice's thoughts were so fucking funny and maverick is just perfectly maverick in this haha! absolutely recommend for a good laugh with some extra sweetness.)

It's a whole new way of looking at [daddy issues] by spaghettiash: This a series of two little one-shots that I absolutely loved. It's another Peter gets transported to the DC universe with Dick Grayson looking exactly like Richard Parker. Love this one.

Help Me, I Don't Feel Like Myself Anymore by Astra_Nova_Kat: This fic was amazing, this was my bookmark comment exactly "I need this, I need this like I need oxygen, like I need love. This is so well written, I could cry. I need it injected into my veins and tattooed on the inside of my eyelids, omg." Again, much like the one above, Peter is transported into the DCU and stumbles across alternate versions of Richard Parker and Ben Parker. I loved it.

Aunt May and the Justice League by Anonymous: This fic is great, if you love the idea of Aunt May being kick ass and -fade to black- sleeping her way through the Justice League in a super classy way, and being such a supportive mum to her dear nephew Peter in the DCU. Very much open relationships, though the main plot doesn't really start to kick in until a few chapters in.

Green, through and through by another_fucking_robin: I love this one, particularly because it's trans Peter Parker. There just aren't enough of them, and when it's well written, it plucks at my heart strings. Plus, the Lazarus Pit is an ally, and I love that for them. This fic just starts off so good, I was in love with it from chapter one.

rot with all the burnouts in the cell by magnuschases: This fic is really entertaining. Like, Dick Grayson, you are the father! And Peter's responses were just great. Awkward grandpa!Bruce will always have my heart.

Singing In My Blood by LialeeEderian: This one is cute. Peter literally falls into Dick Grayson's life. Dick Grayson is clearly his alternate universe dad, and everyone can see it.

a shining spider web by Selador: an alternate spin off of Dark Matter by mysterycyclone. In this fic, the nice guy on the subway that gives him sunglasses during his migraine, clearly Jason Todd, takes him home and adopts him. Very cute and sweet.

Homesick by NotSoSweetHeh: I adore this fic. Peter convinces the Batfam that he's actually an alien, rather than a dimension traveller. Seems easier to him, that way. And it is very easy for him to pull off.

Harry Potter and the Great Custody Battle by dajgen: Okay, say what you will about JKR, she's TERF piece of shit and I hate her. However, I do not hate Dajgen and their work (that would make me a hypocrite, considering my work Wildflowers in the Spring, with is also a HP/DC crossover). Controversial to add a HP related fic, but I feel like I should add it anyway, because I genuinely enjoyed it. It's basically a fic where Harry is related to both Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne. Harry needs them to get out of the Triwizard Tournament. So, a threeway crossover. I won't give anymore spoilers, should you choose to read it.

I hope you liked my picks, I've never actually made one of these before, so I hope I did it right 😅 feel free to hit me up if you want to share your thoughts about my recommendations. Fic rec Friday - Steve Rogers edition!

In honor of @dc-marvel-crossovers Super Week, a couple of my favorite Cap-centric super-duper-rare-pair crossovers:

Move Slow, Forge Ahead by @thepartyresponsible - fresh-from-the-ice Steve meets Dick Grayson. Such a good character study of him and his mental state at this (wildly under-explored) moment of canon; Dick’s sunshine-and-steel is the perfect counterpoint to everything Steve is going through.

Steve’s spent his whole life trying to fight the part of the world that’s bad. Bucky was always trying to save what was good. If Steve learned a single damn thing from the war, it’s that there’s nothing brave or strong or redemptive about violence. Heroism is saving something. Everything else is just flash and blood and tickertape.

Won’t You Stay Awhile? (I’m Staring At a Ghost) by @daddyswickedqueen - Jason Todd being an absolute little shit is one of my favorite things. This is peak Little Shit Jason. Love the subtleties of both characterizations here, especially the attention to detail in the things Steve notices about him first.

“Gonna buy me a drink, old man?” A hint of wickedness comes into his smile and he leans in closer, brushing their shoulders together again. “Want me to call you Daddy?”

Steve has to swallow before he can answer. “Nope. Not my style.”

The kid’s head tips, just a little, and suddenly those green eyes are so focused and intense that Steve finds himself straightening, squaring his shoulders against them, as if this kid could see into the core of him.

A faint smirk crosses the kid’s lips and he turns back to the tv, takes a sip of his drink, then says, “Wanna call me Daddy?”

No Fairytale Bliss by @sammialex - look, am I cheating by including a remix of the previous fic on this list? Possibly. Do I care? Not at all. It’s just too good. Jason’s POV, this time, with fantastic character nuances.

The loud bump of music vibrated through the cracked, well worn leather of the bar seat. Jason played with the condensation on his beer glass, idly drawing little HA HA HAs until he noticed what his fingers were doing and snatched them away.

A sip of beer cooled his suddenly tight throat, and Jason returned his attention to the crowd. People watching in Gotham always ended in fights, and Jason wasn’t in the mood for a fight tonight. Jason was in the mood for a different kind of stress relief, so he’d hopped on his bike and driven north to New York, where people watching was more likely to turn into love bites than bloody knuckles.

“No! I don’t — I just thought he’d pick up and then I could, I don’t know —”

It pulled at the strands of Hazel’s hair and clutched at her mind, trying to convince her she was Betsy, a member of the neighborhood women's club and was very interested in making sure the town talent show went off without a hitch. Hazel was more concerned with the way she seemed to lose time every once in a while and wake up in a strange house, usually cooking or cleaning or tending to the garden.

After the events of Avengers Endgame, Hazel follows some unusual magic to the small town of Westview.

Percy was at least happy that this wasn't a prophecy. Stealing back some demigod weapons from a mortal? Sure, Iron Man was a superhero and a genius, but after dealing with Gaea, that was nothing. They just had to steer clear of anyone who might recognize them, and they were positive that they could pull it off easier than most of their quests. And potentially land Leo a job, while they're at it.

But Percy should have known better. Nothing is ever that simple for a demigod.

Crossover pairing triad spotlight: WinterHawkHood (Bucky Barnes/Clint Barton/Jason Todd)

Part of the appeal of these three might be the way they balance each other out; there are a lot of parallels, but they have wildly different temperaments. Another part is the way they've all dabbled in dubious morality at one point or another; none fit the traditional hero mold, and they're all more interesting for it. Whatever the reason, they’re a whole lot of fun to write. And thanks to @winterhawkhood-tober, there are a decent number of fics to choose from here!

Finders Keepers by @drgrlfriend - PG, 1500 words. Funny "meet-ugly" fic in which their pets get together before they do.

Marshmallow Crime Lords series by @noxnthea and @there-must-be-a-lock - PG-13, 46k and counting. Fluffy feel-good series with established WinterHawkHood and lots of general Batfam shenanigans.

Penguin by @claraxbarton - teen, 4700 words. Hockey AU! Clara posted a WHH fic every day during October and is singlehandedly responsible for well over a third of the fics in this tag, and it was hard to narrow down which ones to include, but this is a standout.

Third Wheel by @kangofu-cb - explicit, 10,770 words. Absolutely stellar threesome, featuring established Winterhawk with Jason as the guest star. Starts hilarious, gets scorching-hot, ends with a hint of feelings.

Staring At The Sun (Can't Look Away) series by @flowerparrish - 9k total, individual fics range from T to explicit. Adorable coffeeshop AU featuring trans!Clint and lots of fluff.

Snow On The Beach series by @bittercape - fics range from T to explicit, 13k total. Poly negotiations. Some fics are cute and fluffy, some are super sexy, all have great characterization and relationship dynamics.

Tear Through The Night And Raise Some Hell by @carcrash429 - explicit, 6500 words. Vampires! Spooky, angsty, and intriguing.

Mulder and Scully’s journey to a troubled Louisiana town leads Scully to an encounter with a far more troubled man. Birdsong by @chekcough The plot of Silence of the Lambs, with Dana Scully replacing Clarice Starling, and a younger Agent Mulder, working in the B.S.U, assigned to help her. It is not at all necessary to have seen/read either 'The Silence of the Lambs' or 'The X-Files' to enjoy this. The Glimmering Girl by Tesla Mulder works a child abduction with Frank Black, while Scully is away for the weekend, but very much on Mulder’s mind. Homicidal Tendencies by Swikstr What begins as a typical ritual murder case with supernatural overtones for Mulder and Scully in Baltimore becomes something else as the two are forced to interact with some of the unique personalities on Charm City's murder squad. Scully's developing connection with a Baltimore homicide detective has far-reaching consequences in the evolution of her relationship with Mulder. Interagency (Mulder and Scully Meet the Director) by pinebluffvariant "You're wanted on a task force." Leap of Faith, parts 1 and 2 by Livengoo Sam Beckett has to keep Fox Mulder from becoming one more abductee, but when he leaps into Dana Scully's size fours he finds that might not be such an easy job. Letting Go by Joann Humby Mulder goes solo on a case in San Francisco. But when the killer isn’t what he was expecting, he needs the SF PD and the FBI’s finest to help him out. Lucky X in the City by @lilydalexf Samantha Jones meets Mulder in a bar. Fox hunting ensues. It’s more serious than it sounds. Samsara by Alicia K. Crossover of sorts, MSR of sorts. I don't want to say anything more, so we'll just let it go at that. Out of the Little Grove by @slippinmickeys I got an anon Tumblr prompt asking for an X-Files/His Dark Materials crossover in which Mulder & Scully were detectives in Lyra’s world. There may be some small liberties I took within the HDM world’s canon to make this story work for M&S, which I ask you to please forgive.
