Very impressive - and though I don't know if it's intended as such, @dduane reminds me that Halloween is coming.

What goes underneath and on legs / feet is entirely up to the wearer, but good accessories would be a belt or baldric and a toy sword from, for example, Liongate Armory or their US equivalent.

I mentioned toy swords specifically because a quick look suggests LARP foam or even poly trainer weapons seem a bit pricy for worn-one-night-only costume props.

Toys can be more than adequate. I got the one in the middle years ago in - appropriately enough - a Halloween supply shop. IIRC it cost about €10-15.00, yet looked pretty good. Being a realistic size and shape (compare it to the real steel repros either side) helped a lot.

Knitted "chainmail" used to be the standard for theatrical and screen costume work (in a lot of cases I'm sure it still is).

It would start out looking like this (pattern source on Etsy)...

...then would be dyed black (if not actually made with black wool or string from the outset) and finished by dry-brushing with metallic silver or gunmetal paint. The end result was like this example from "Robin of Sherwood".

Knitted mail wasn't just used in low-budget stuff. Here are a couple more examples from Big Screen movies. The first is "El Cid" (1961)...

...as is this next one, though frankly that seam down the leg should have been inner thigh not outer.

This is "The War Lord" (1965) one of the few films I can think of with Norman-era setting and costumes.

AFAIK its budget was well below that of El Cid, but the armour in The War Lord looks better (IMO, anyway) because those buckles and contrasting red lining enhance its appearance and add "visual interest".

PVC mail as pioneered in "The Lord of the Rings" films is much more realistic and even hangs correctly, being made the same way as The Real Thing, but it's obvious that with a bit of thought given to details, well-made, well-finished knitted mail isn't bad at all.

Here's some real mail for comparison.

Here's a close-up of the first one, along with a close-up of PVC plastic mail. The rivets on the real mail are clearly visible, while the costume armour rings, which don't have to keep pointy stuff out, are just as clearly non-rivetted ("butted") for ease of manufacture.

Side-note - that little button is an in-period inventory tag...

...marked with the city arms and "Z(eughaus) v(on) Nverenberg" (Armoury of Nuremberg) suggesting that this wasn't someone's personal armour but was kept in Official Storage and issued to the militia when required.

I crocheted a knight for my friend who's obsessed with medieval history!!

The armour is loosely based on a 14th-century English suit of armour. I wanted to make all the pieces removable, but that quickly proved impossible (turns out yarn isn't as good at holding its shape as steel. Who woulda guessed?) You can see the blue gambeson and red breeches between the plates on the arms and legs, at least. I would've liked to make him a longsword, but I ran out of time before my friend's party :(

The helmet is a hounskull bascinet, which, it turns out, is very difficult to crochet without it looking like a big grey blob. You can remove it, revealing the knight's face and chainmail coif!

I had a lot of fun making this lad. My friend absolutely loves him and has knighted him Sir William Woolsworth of Yarnkshire

From HSR men, who is most likely to wear clothes that you’ve knitted or crocheted for them if you were their S/O?

Argenti would wear near enough anything you’d crocheted for him, he didn’t care if it was well made or had a couple of loose ends, he will wear it either way and with the upmost pride.

He treated anything you made him as though it were priceless treasures that could never be replicated as anything made by hands that weren’t yours didn’t hold the same sentiment.

He sings your praises so much and so often that many thoughts you’ve woven your gifts for him out of pure gold rather then the standard wool.

Them: it’s just a knitted rose cardigan, what’s so important about it?

Argenti: it’s not just a knitted rose cardigan, it’s a knitted rose cardigan my beloved had woven with their own hands with nothing but time and patience on their side, so it would be best to respect their craft for what it is.

Aventurine could buy pretty much anything and yet the most priceless things in his possession were the things you’ve made him by your own hands.

He will try anything and everything you’ve made in the past and wear it as though it was apart of some latest fashion trend. He wears your hard work with pride and appreciation for the talent you possess.

You were possibly the only person to think of him whilst making clothes and little crochet trinkets that he now fiddles with his left hand whenever he was scared midst a high stakes gamble.

Aventurine doesn’t allow for anyone to touch the things you’ve made him, no matter what their relationship to him is as you made those things for him and him alone, that and he didn’t want others to tug on it roughly or handle it heavy handedly to the point it ruins the crochet peacock you made him.

The clothes and items you made for him along with anything else were his comfort items that he’s grown a deep attachment towards, and he would always try to keep them in pristine condition. You’ll never catch him without something you’ve made on him.

Welt Yang loves and cherished everything you e made for him and will always have it on him at all times whenever he needed to feel your presence close by when you’re apart.

It puts both his heart and mind at ease.

He wears the scarf you made him religiously but the moment where he had to engage in combat, he’s carefully peeling it off of him and tucking it away safely to prevent it from getting damaged.

He didn’t feel it was right to wear the scarf you spent hours working on during combat, where it would take one wrong move and ruin the whole thing.

Other than that Welt always wore anything you’ve made him as a silent expression of his thankfulness for you and the effort you put into everything you made. He loved them all equally, but nothing topped the dark brown/beige scarf you gifted him first.

The scarf had become a prominent article of clothing of Welt’s that it would become a main staple of his usual outfit, so much so to the point where people would easily recognise it’s absence should he ever take it off. That’s how often he wears it.

Gepard loves the sweaters that you knitted for him and would wear them no matter the weather.

It could be warm as shit and Gepard would still be wearing your sweaters regardless. Not because he felt as though he was expected to wear it, but because it had become his most favoured piece of clothing.

Serval and Lynx would mention about how he never seems to part from the light blue sweater with white snowflake deigns on it, and would ask whether or not this had anything to do with you; only to bear witness their brother’s face become red as a cherry as he attempted to find any excuse that would evade him of any answer all of their teasing.

He fails and his sisters -mainly serval- tease him restlessly for being puddy in your hands.

Gepard was more often seen in his armour due to his job but the moment he gets to be rid of it after a long day, he immeditly puts on the sweater you made for him and let’s out a audible sigh of relief as he then burrows his face into the soft, breathable fabric.

If anyone had asked where he go the sweater from he’d scratch the back of his head and say that the sweater was one of a kind, before adding on that you were the one who made it for him.

Needless to say it didn’t take much for any to know just how much he adored the sweater, from the way he spoke fondly, to the soft caressing the light blue sweater between his thumb and finger. He wasn’t as subtle as he liked to think he was.

dame katelyn de feu my beloved 😭😭😭

katelyn first shows up to phoenix drop towards the end of season one under similar circumstances to canon mcd - jeffory's about to be executed for treason, and she's desperately trying to get his name cleared before he dies. however, when it becomes clearer and clearer to her that zane's using him as a scapegoat, she decides to turn on him and side with aphmau and the phoenix alliance ahead of the battle for phoenix drop.

in ashes, ashes, jurors were originally ordained through the bestowal of relics - however, after they went missing a couple of centuries after the first war of the magi, they pretty much became just. super politically powerful guards until about twenty years before the start of ashes, ashes, when the high priest of o'khasis at the time (zane's predecessor) figured out a way to bestow the powers of the juror relics to the jurors without using the relics themselves. anyway, its blood magick and it essentially brands the jurors with a seven-pointed star on their foreheads as a mark of the ritual being completed. katelyn hates what the ritual has turned her into - even though long hair is lowkey pretty impractical in a fight, she keeps hers long so that her mark is hidden (jeffory did the same, and garroth will also grow his hair out a little to cover his mark). when she transforms, a lot of the saturation in her skin in hair is drained out due to the magick not being suuuper holy (in fact, the first casting of the ritual upset the balance of the universe so much that it woke up the primordial gods n they sicked a plague on o'khasis that garte would later blame on tu'lan biological warfare). additionally, because the magick of the ritual sort of like. blends in? with any magicks or witchcraft already present in the juror their juror form will reflect this - katelyn has fire magicks, so when she transforms, her hair turns into this sort of sickly pale blue fire. her fire is hot enough that it burns blue anyway, but yeah.

katelyn burns her juror armour the minute she can once everyone gets out of the irene dimension. for a while, she just wears whatever she can scrounge up from around phoenix drop, but when cadenza finds out about this she gives katelyn this outfit! it's definitely done out of the kindness of her heart, there definitely aren't any ulterior motives don't worry. it's a lot more of a mercenary-ish look compared to her juror armour, but katelyn likes it just fine - especially since a certain flame-haired seamstress with a winning smile made it especially for her.

a little headcanon i have about katelyn - i feel like even though she isn't great at sewing, having grown up in a minor noble house in o'khasis, i feel like she would have some skills with textiles. specifically, i feel like she'd knit and/or crochet in her down time! before everyone heads out to gal'ruk, she knits everyone some mittens/scarves/socks/etc. not sweaters, though - she's loathe to admit it, but she's a firm believer in the sweater curse. otherwise, nothing much changes except that she throws on a coat and calls it a day - i like to think that, similar to laurance, she runs a little hotter than most people due to her fire magicks sort of acting as a bit of an internal furnace, so she doesn't need to bundle up quite as much as the others.

her day-to-day outfit is pretty much her standard guard outfit without the armour. she does wear an underbust corset/belt/thing with a small pouch attached, though - its very useful for carrying around knickknacks n stuff. otherwise, there's not much else to really comment on? idk. i probably shouldve added in some scars on her arms but its 11:30 pm at the time im writing this n ive spent way too long on this dang ref sheet already so yeah.

i decided to change up her conqueror form quite a bit - the form i drew in my original lineup of the second war's divine warriors wasn't really katelyn n looking back on it i shouldve spent more time trying to get it right. anyway, katelyn's mother was from southern tu'la, and was from a merchant family with some distant blood ties to the royal family - katelyn is technically related to the king of tu'la, but the relation is so distant that she doesn't really consider him (or any of the tu'lan nobles, really) to be blood relations. it's through this lineage, though, that she's able to resonate with menphia's relic, although it definitely helps that she's the second war's incarnation of the conqueror. mostly, the design notes from her first conqueror design remain the same - all i've really done is change the colour palette.

aaaand some headshots. i haven't exactly worked out how she got her facial scars - the big one was probably gotten on her first major assignment as a juror. however, it's nasty enough that when it healed it sort of fucked up her facial muscles - the scar tissue has permanently warped the right side of her mouth into a grimace, so anytime she makes a facial expression it's pretty lopsided (it's especially noticeable when she smiles). also, i changed the titling system for the jury to be more similar to the commonwealth knighthood system? like as much as i think "lady katelyn" is sick as fuck, the fact that it's the same title used for the female spouses of lords just sorta,,, didn't sit right? i guess? so yeah. dame katelyn.

He keeps track of your favourite genres too, it's shockingly accurate how well Rolan picks books for you

If scented candles are a thing in bg3 then he'll give you those too

He likes spoiling you a little by giving you a nice drink, a new book, and the loveliest scented candle you can imagine

Just to get this out of the way, Rolan blushes every time you give him something

I'm not sure if this is considered an actual gift or not, but give him a massage

I gotta say, you guys...I'm kind of blown away by what a gorgeous face this doll has. Same old RH original face sculpt, but something about the way they screened it, and the blushing...this is the most beautiful Jade has ever been. Personally I don't mind the shimmer, but I'm a 90s girl--there was a time when body glitter was part of my daily armour. I get it ;p

After seeing her in person I'm far more open to giving the other dolls in this reboot wave a chance. Yes the slime thing is nasty and yes the reduced articulation is frustrating and yes that disgusting hair tinsel is an absolute sensory and aesthetic NIGHTMARE--all my other doll related plans for yesterday were preempted while I sat and ripped it out of her head--but even despite all that, I love this doll. I'm so glad I got her, and so happy to have another green girl in my collection! I love green almost as much as I love purple, and it's a source of endless frustration for me that there aren't more dolls with any variety of green hair other than mint/pastel or yellow-leaning neon. This Jade's green--which is a tad deeper than my Fantastic Fashion Jade's hair--reminds me of trees just budding out in early spring ^_^ I really hope by the time that season rolls around again next year I'll be healthy enough to take her on a little nature hike for some photography.

Post-tinsel Jade is wearing one of the wonderful dresses @dollsahoy made for my girls :D Not how I planned to debut it, but as I mentioned earlier, yesterday did not go to plan. Once I finish up the crochet piece I'm working on this morning I'll try to get back on track with my other posts.

“Yes, darling,” not rolling his eyes anymore, coming closer with his hands out, and Harry’s frown which used to be funny is, is, not. “Hey. Harry.”

“It’s,” hyperventilating, “it’s from Molly, I can’t—it has to be somewhere in here, right,” and Draco scoops him in his arms and squeezes.

Squeezes harder until the shaking stops. “Darling,” he whispers, and “sweetheart.” They find their way to bed and Draco layers him with so many kisses Harry can’t even grumble anymore, can’t, move, probably, until he’s laughing, wiping his face on the pillowcase.

“Sorry,” he says, much later, and Draco shushes him with clinical efficiency and rinses the suds out of his hair.

How hard can crocheting be, for crying out loud? He might not be Molly-Weasley-level natural caretaker, but he can bloody do this. He’ll pick up the yarn and the—needles? Tomorrow. He’ll replace this priceless heirloom of a bloody doily and Harry will be… will be happy again.

“Which tie do you think I should—oh,” looking up and Draco’s already wrapping it around his neck, pout melting into fond smile. “Really? That one?”

“Really,” Draco murmurs. Tying the knot is the easiest thing, and his fingers are happy to do it, skirting over the soft material and, cheekily, over Harry’s tense shoulders. “It’s going to be fine,” he says.

“I know.” Harry’s looking at them in the mirror. Draco wonders what he sees, besides for muggle suits and all the hair. “You look nice.”

Draco huffs. “I always look nice.”

“All right then, you look fucking sexy. You should always wear a tux.”

“Hmm? Even in bed? Sounds clunky.”

“Clunky? Is it a suit of armour or something?” but the babbling is a sign of its own, and Draco, raised eyebrow, takes his hand.

“We only need to be there for five, ten minutes. I told the Minister you won’t be staying for the full event.”

“How did you get him to agree to that?”

“Charm,” Draco says.

“You mean blackmail.”

“I mean, a lovely personality and a knack for fortunate scheduling.”

Harry’s smiling so wide it feels, ridiculously, that he’d tear out of his suit. “You’re incorrigible,” but he’s quiet after that, which Draco takes as a win. And really, how hard is it to threaten a Minister?

With economical moves, he brushes a lucky piece of lint off Harry’s arm. They’ll make the obligatory appearance, keep the peace or—give hope to the nation, whatever, and then he’ll take Harry to the kebab place outside the Ministry and feed him chips till he’s happy.

Because he doesn’t like the marks the charm leaves. “Third drawer on the right.”

Rattling: “Found it. You picked a film yet?”

“Mm-hmm.” Arranging the bowls, leaning back on the sofa.

“Good. And it’s not Mean Girls again, right? Because love you know I’ll watch anything with you but I think four times a month is, er, wha—” stops with his pretty mouth open, leaning against the doorway with a little swoon. “Draco? What’s this? What are you wearing?”

“There’s a pair for you as well,” the fluffiest material Draco had ever seen, with a pattern of little polar bears in bowties. “Go on, get changed.”

“Is that… I thought we weren’t allowed to eat on the new sofa.”

Draco shrugged. “What’s a hoover charm for? They’re selling your favourite apple-cinnamon popcorn again, I couldn’t resist.”

“Clearly,” with a grin that swallowed the whole room. “You’re aware this is excessive, love, yes? You know this isn’t normal behaviour.”

With a huff, “And we’re entirely normal people?”

Harry laughs, shaking his head. He comes to grab the pyjamas, but takes a detour to Draco, to kiss the top of his head. “You’re bonkers,” whispered into his hair.

“For you,” Draco concedes. “Now go on. I hope you don’t mind, but I chose Princess Bride.”

“You unbearable sap,” with affection so thick in his tone it drips, tiny little kisses on his forehead, his eyebrows, his nose. “What?”

“Markers. For the… they help much better than a spell. I’ll have to go back to the office supply shop,” sighing, rubbing his buzzing eyelids. Too little sleep and big test coming up, the constant headache Harry says comes from stress and—

“These ones?” producing a whole pack, unopened, from his work bag.

“What,” Draco says, not quite a question. “You don’t use these.”

“Highlighters? No, not really. I got them for you.” Nudging them closer, nose scrunching on a frown. “What? Why’s that so shocking?”

“It’s not.”

Harry stares. “But?” to the shake of the head, “What, is it only you who’s allowed to take care of me?”

More desperate shaking. Draco’s too tightly strung on no sleep and many-many cups of coffee, and he’s seeing double, and the tears come out unbidden and unexpected.

“Love,” Harry gasps, and cradles weeping Draco in his arms like he would a baby, “I’m sorry, I didn’t—”

“No, no,” nonsensical and silly, “it’s—Harry, you’re so, it’s unfair how much you’re—”

“You’re unfair,” and Harry’s voice is raw too, and they’re both so silly. “Do you even know, do you have any idea how awfully happy you make me just by—”

“Stop, stop,” too weak for the attack, and the markers, and it’s Wednesday and his test is on Friday, and he’s sick with how lovely this is. “Okay, we’re both saps.”

They make each other’s tea and then drink from each other’s cup. Draco’s is too sweet and Harry’s is too strong. Draco’s tired and a little bit terrified, but he keeps thinking, how hard can this be? Not that hard after all.

I got my most beatiful beloved girl Esil A3 (do not regret) and I have cleared every single possible content about her.

Shame that my ass is too weak to actually use her. Workshop of brilliant light (the new stage) I got my ass beaten up despite me trying a lot of teams…. I tried combing my Esil with my strongest hunter Tomas but somehow even Tomas who cleared every content with such an ease where others struggled couldn’t even bring that first boss to half health.

I also tried using Jina Yoo Sohyun and Esil but… made even worse.

Than Thomas Hae-In and Meilin also tried but no success. And I gave up thinking I will come back to it later.

I then went to simulated universe to try my luck there. Because light wasn’t now a weakness I went with Esil Isla (I know she goes only with dark type, I just wanted to use Esil and my fire hunters suck) and Charlotte because she may not with such ease as Thomas but also clears everything.

Got beaten horribly. Tried Isla Charlotte and Harper. Emma was a hater who didn’t even gave me time to regenerate my dash and interrupted every single combo of basic attacks I tried to use so I can have my ultimate. I needed a one more second to win but oh well. Not my day I guess.

If anybody has a tip about Workshop of Brilliant light I would be forever grateful.
