Dish with seated Athena/Minerva
This dish or, perhaps, drinking cup, is part of so-called Hildesheim Silver Treasure and depicts a seated figure of a Goddess, probably Athena or Minerva. She's wearing a triple-crested helmet and leaning onto a shield. This artifact was most likely produced in Italy between 1st century BCE and 1st century AD. Currently at the Altes Museum in Berlin, Germany.

hi, I'm Nike and I use she/they pronouns :)
☆ I'm primarily a Hellenic polytheist, but I include Christianity in my worship ☆ I worship Lady Hestia, Lord Apollon, Father Zeus, Mother Athene, Jesus Christ, and God + I honour other gods, Mother Mary, and the saints ☆ I understand that my practice is heretical, but please do not bring hate to this page. ☆ My asks and DMs are open; my replies might not be the fastest, but I will reply ☆ I organise my worship using side blogs @an-ode-to-olives -> for Mother Athene @the-lyre-and-the-raven -> for Lord Apollon @thundering-zeus -> for Father Zeus @for-the-love-of-hestia -> for Lady Hestia
thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a blessed day <3

HOMERIC HYMN
Homeric Hymn 11 to Athena (trans. Evelyn-White) (Greek epic C7th to 4th B.C.) : "Of Pallas Athena, guardian of the city, I begin to sing. Dread is she, and with Ares she loves the deeds of war, the sack of cities and the shouting and the battle. It is she who saves the people as they go to war and come back. Hail, goddess, and give us good fortune and happiness!"
Homeric Hymn 39 to Athena : "I begin to sing of Pallas Athena, the glorious goddess, bright-eyed, inventive, unbending of heart, pure virgin, saviour of cities, courageous, Tritogeneia. From his awful head wise Zeus himself bare her arrayed in warlike arms of flashing gold, and awe seized all the gods as they gazed. But Athena sprang quickly from the immortal head and stood before Zeus who holds the aegis, shaking a sharp spear: great Olympos began to reel horribly at the might of the grey-eyed goddess, and earth round about cried fearfully, and the sea was moved and tossed with dark waves, while foam burst forth suddenly: the bright Son of Hyperion [Helios the Sun] stopped his swift-footed horses a long while, until the maiden Pallas Athena had stripped the heavenly armour from her immortal shoulders. And wise Zeus was glad. Hail to you, daughter of Zeus who holds the aigis!"

Sharp-witted Athena watched
As her warrior crossed the seas
A smirk on her lips
For even in wild adversity
She trusted him fully
Much more of us the wisdom-Goddess knows
A mortal cannot fathom the depths of faith
The Gods put in our ephemeral hands.
Even when failing as we drew the ire
Of a cyclops of rage without end.
Oh, Odysseus - sighed owl-spirited Pallas.
Containing a laughter and hearing
His pleas and claims again
She flew in clouds, draped in reason.
And close she sat beside him,
hands soon weaving solutions beyond end.

When I am looked down upon and disadvantaged for being poor, while I struggle day to day and I'm barely hanging on and can't live like those better off can, Athene Keleutheia is with me.
When I am looked down upon for being a minority (or few) and feel a multitude of "negative" emotions about it, Athene Xenia is with me for the justice and rights I deserve.
For the fearful, for the mistreated, for those who are wronged by both the law (systems) and others, for the ousted, Athene Eryma is there with them when no one else in power is.
Under the epithets Alea, Axiopoinos, Sthenias, Sôteira, Amboulia, Alalkomenêis, Polioukhos, and Poliatis Athene is there. No matter the status, no matter how others feel or view them she is there for those who need her in every institution and system meant to aid, protect, carry justice and law, and be just -- and in the weeping, rage, and retaliation when they are anything but.

Working with Lady Athena it's like...One of the best things that could happen to me! Was I scared about working with her? Oh, totally. I was on the verge of running to the mountains.
I mean, she's literally the Goddess of Wisdom???? How you don't get intimidated by that????
But in reality, she's the kindest to me, always patient when I tell my worries, always guiding me through life and helping me make wise choices.
Lady Athena it's for the girlies that grew insecure about their own interests, who read books, go through sites just to search about your newest hyperfixation. For the girlies that have the rage of your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother and so goes on.
I just love to tell her about my day, about my hyperfixation and about the fanfiction that I'm writing at this moment. She loves to hear all about that.
By the way, I literally have a devotional on going story for her. I didn't posted anywhere and only my trusted friends read them, but the story has a place inside my heart.
Lady Athena will always support your dreams, she's mother too even though she's a virgin Goddess. Believe in her and everything will be fine 💕
