a soft relationship headcanon i have for tamaki is that he always has your favorite snacks at his place. or if you live together, he’ll grab snacks he knows you love when he goes to the store
🥹🍓🍫🍿🥜 <- me surrounded by the snacks he brought
AHHHH!!!
Mimmy, this is so cute!!!
I can just imagine having a movie night with Tamaki and how eager he is to bring out the your favorite snacks for you to munch on.
He may have gone a bit overboard, but you would never tell him that.
It’s another cozy evening in Tamaki’s apartment. A large fleece blanket covered with a pastel print of baby chicks is draped across your legs. The shutters are drawn tightly over the window, blocking the light from the setting sun from glaring over the television screen as you wait eagerly for the latest episode of your favorite show to return after the commercial break.
Your head is resting against Tamaki’s chest as he slowly slings an arm around you. You’re so comfortable with him. And based on the little contented sigh he lets out as he absentmindedly toys with your hair, he is, too.
The opening credits start to play as you eagerly watch to see if there is anything hidden on the screen for the two of you to unravel, but your focus is soon captured by something else entirely.
Something Unpleasant
You’re Hungry…
Since it was Friday, you normally would’ve gone to get lunch at your favorite cafe, but unfortunately for you, you forgot your wallet at home and were left with nothing but a few sticks of Fruity gum to try to satisfy your cravings. Sure, you could’ve asked a friendly coworker for help, but everyone had already ducked out for their own breaks.
“Did you see that?” Tamaki asks, looking between you and the screen. “That’s the tye-dye sweatshirt from the first episode.”
“Mmm, yeah, that’s crazy,” you murmur distractedly; your attention is on your stomach, which threatens to growl at any moment, exposing your true feelings to your Pro-Hero boyfriend.
“Is everything okay? You aren’t paying attention to the show at all,” he asks, looking at you with the slightest hint of a frown on his face. The look of worry on his features as he scans your face has your heart tightening in your chest.
“No, I mean, yes, I’m fine Tama,” you say with a small smile, “I’m sorry I haven’t been paying attention, it’s just that I’m feeling a bit~” The deep growling of your stomach cuts you off mid-sentence doing more than enough to finish your thought.
“Oh, are you hungry?” he asks; there is an eagerness in his eyes that takes you aback.
“Yeah, but I know you ate dinner at the agency, so I can wait until the show is over,” you tell him, trying to snuggle back into his side, but he stops you.
“It’s commercial,” he replies, getting to his feet, “Let me get you something.” He turns to leave, and you detect the smallest trace of a smile on his lips as he goes off towards the kitchen. Not giving you the chance to object.
The sound of crackling packaging and Tamaki rummaging through his pantry can be heard from the kitchen. “Tama, the show is gonna come back on soon.” you call, “Don’t worry about the snacks; I can get something after.”
“Hold on,” he answers, “I’ll be right there.”
He has been shopping and researching for days, just waiting for this moment; if he has to miss a few seconds of the show, then so be it.
You’re reaching for the remote to pause the show as he walks back into the room. In his arms are full of snacks. The bags and packages crinkle against each other as he plops them onto the coffee table in front of you.
As you scan the pile in front of you, you can hardly believe your eyes; these are all your favorites.
Your Favorite Chips
Crackery Thingamabobs
Candies…
He even has your favorite little snack cakes that are only sold at the convenience store across town.
“Y-you like these ones, right?” he asks hesitantly, his dark eyes darting between you and the glorious table of snacks, unaware of the fuzzy fullness that he has given to your heart.
“I love them,” you smile, reaching over to his sweater sleeve and tugging him closer to you. He stumbles a bit and looks at you with a deep flush on his cheeks as you wrap your arms around him. “But not as much as I love you.”

I think I may need to actually buy a phone soon. The one I inherited during my bedridden period is old enough it won't take more upgrades and won't accept new upgrades on the tumblr app, so I can't use it for that at all anymore. When I took this picture on July 4 to show what we'd be eating while watching 1776, I thought I had uploaded it to tumblr, but it never appeared. So I sent it to my e-mail addresses and it just now finally arrived. If it's going to be like that about it there's not much point in taking pictures.
Anyway, these are cream cheese pies, a low-effort cheesecake substitute that has become our traditional 1776 viewing treat. Since I can no longer wish you a happy Independence Day, I may as well share the recipe. No one who has ever tasted it has not come back for seconds and it's a really good summer dessert because cooking is only involved if you want to make your own topping.
one 8" graham cracker crust (to minimize effort I just buy them; usually house brand is fine but this year they were barely graham crackery and I may have to buy Keebler next year)
one 8*-oz block of cream cheese
1/3 cup lemon juice
one can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (low-fat is okay)
1/8 tsp vanilla
fruit pie topping/filling to taste - for patriotic holidays in the US blueberry and cherry are the obvious choices, but if you think it sounds good, it probably will be. Again, to save work in the height of Texas summer, I just use canned.
Recipe doubles well; haven't tried to make more than two at one time.
Mix together cream cheese, lemon juice, and vanilla at low speed. Add sweetened condensed milk gradually at medium speed. Once all the milk has drizzled in, keep mixing and scraping with spatula until the texture is smooth and consistent. Pour mixture into graham cracker crust; cover with air between pie surface and covering (turning over the plastic casing on top of commercial pie shells and tucking the edges into the crinkles around the edge of the foil pie pan is ideal for this purpose).
Place in refrigerator till set. This takes at least 24 hours. I suggest making on the 2nd to eat on the Fourth; merely sitting overnight results in oozy pieces on the first eating.
Chill the pie filling; putting cans in the refrigerator at the same time as the pies works perfectly. If making your own make sure it has cooled thoroughly.
Immediately before serving, add chilled pie filling to the top. Put back into refrigerator when not being immediately served. You want it nice and cool.
*Really bad at numbers and the packaging is thrown out. I thought the standard block was 12 oz, but it occurred to me to check when I realized there's more condensed milk than cream cheese in this recipe, and apparently Philadelphia cream cheese and its house-brand imitators comes in 8 and 16 oz blocks, and I'm sure there's not a pound of cream cheese in this. No wonder it takes so long to set! Just be sure you get the blocks, not the stuff in the tub, or the consistency will never be right

has there been a poll about st louis style pizza.. i'm from missouri and like. i love stl style pizza but also i think it is objectively bad compared to most pizza. but i love it so much
i think we did chicago, i don't remember if we did st louis, i've got the submission for it though
HOT TAKE TOURNAMENT
POST PRE PRELIMINARY #161
Submission 153
Saint Louis pizza is good, actually
I grew up in New England and was raised as a New York style pizza supremacist, but then I moved to STL and honestly the pizza slaps. Yes it may be square and crackery and have plasticy cheese, but that’s a surprisingly good combination of things. Also if anyone reading this likes Imo’s fries as much as I do PLEASE reach out, they literally changed my life.
Pre-preliminaries will be used to determine what qualifies as a hot take. Propaganda is encouraged!
Also, remember to reblog your favourite polls for exposure!

I've always wanted to try ube, but I think this was the worst possible introduction.
They don't taste bad, they're perfectly fine, but they have no real flavor at all besides sugar. They may as well be generically frosted. If you squint they're kinda vanilla-y, kinda graham-crackery, kinda birthday cakey, just sweet, no nuance. I don't know if that's just what ube tastes like or if they messed up the artificial flavor or what.
Solid 3 out of 5, middle of the road.
