Hello, I am Raghad Qanou, a second-level medical student in Gaza, or I was. For a year, we have been suffering from genocide. I, my family, and my people have been exposed to it. Many crimes have occurred. We have seen a lot and are still seeing. I have lost my loved ones, my friends, my home, my university, and my entire future. We are trying hard to cling to life and survive! We have been clinging to life for a year, but we are tired, and we need help. We are very tired. We feel that we are alone now. We cannot find our daily food. We have lost our money, our jobs, our home, and everything. We have lost our life savings, on rubble, tents, and primitive life. Although it is primitive, it is expensive. In light of the siege and famine we are experiencing, there is no food or... Water or medicine, and if it is available, the prices are crazy. My family and I live in tents. Since last November, we have been living next to a public toilet with a destroyed sewage system. Can you live next to the sewage for one day? Me, my family and my younger brothers, we live hereAlmost a year ago, we haven't gotten used to it yet! We are not accustomed to the ugly sight of filth and excrement covering the oven on which we cook, nor are we accustomed to the insects and worms that feed on us all night, nor are we accustomed to the reproductive system diseases that we suffer from this polluted toilet, which we are forced to enter. It is also a mixed bathroom, there is no privacy. There is no respect for us as girls. We are subjected to terrible harassment and disrespect, and we suffer from many, many reproductive, digestive, and skin diseases, in addition to respiratory, due to the fire.
To cook food, that is, if there is any food. My brothers and I are very sick. We suffer from hepatitis. It is like an epidemic here. Everyone has yellow eyes, exhausted and tired. It is as if we were zombies. We are all lying on the ground, unable to do anything. It is heartbreaking the state we have reached. To him, and to see your world collapsing, and you do not know what the solution is, what is the way to end this nightmare, there is no way out, except this link,
Please, even if just a little, try to help us. It hurts me very much to see my family, especially my beloved brother, in this condition. He is thinking of committing suicide. The children here are crying and banging their heads against the wall from the force of the shocks they are exposed to, and from their regret for their childhood that was lost in the sewers and displacement. This is painful. I think I'm big, I can handle a little bit.
But please, for the sake of these children, donate what you can. If you do not have the money, post the link. Everything makes a difference in our situation, and remember, the little you have means a lot to us, and it may save the life of an entire family somewhere, so do not hesitate!

Summer 2024 Anime Overview: DEAD DEAD DEMONS DEDEDEDE DESTRUCTION
A giant mothership is hovering over Tokyo. The aliens haven’t done anything or even made themselves known yet, but Japan and America are already trying to blow that UFO up, and show off who has the best weapons, causing many civilian casualties along the way. While all this happens, two girls are just casually living their lives. But are they as normal as they appear?
One thing I want to say is if you watch this anime and care about being intensely spoiled, do not watch "episode 0" until you've finished episode 16. It actually slots chronologically between episode 16 and 17, and that's where the episode took place in the manga, so I have no idea why they did that. Fortunately I had someone to warn me about that, so I will be that someone for you.
Dead Dead Demons DeDeDeDe Destruction or De x 8 as I will be calling it, can be really tough show to watch—not because it’s bad, it’s very good, but because of how depressing and visceral it is at times, and how devastatingly accurate it is to the shitshow of our world. This tends to be balanced a bit by the touching friendships (and possibly? More?) of the very likeable cast of teenagers…but you also feel a huge sense of dread about their safety as things ramp up and their stories deepen.
The anime goes hard on criticizing the military industrial complex, Japan’s government, America’s government, xenophobia, treatment of immigrants, rich people, and conspiracy theorists. All things I also hate, so that’s great. What hurts is how you could easily see the events happening—waging war on the aliens despite no provocation, people using an app to to hunt down and slaughter them...
It shows how even some of the protestors of the genocide use their movement to cover their own selfish motivations, meanwhile countries taking the situation as an opportunity to vie for power and dominance, rich government officials lie to their people and abandon them…obviously there's a lot of commentary here on how we dehumanize immigrants and minorities and enable genocides for capitalism and political power.
It's very bleak, and there were a lot of episode that had me just feeling sad, especially comparing it to current events. But there's also this interesting focus on normal people trying to live their lives during this alien "invasion", and the kids who still go through the dramas and upsets of everyday life. And especially the “I’d burn down the world for you” intense emotional relationship between Kadode and Ouran, the two teen girl leads.
Ouran is the main lead, and she’s a chuuni beyond chuuni, acting wacky and cheerful and spouting nonsense-- except if you pay attention, she's saying some pretty valid things—critiques of capitalism, war, government surveillance—but then following it up with something wild like “and that’s why I should rule the world”. You get the sense she’s cloaking an awareness of how shit the world is in humor, and as the show goes on and as her surprisingly intense and weird backstory unfolds, it becomes clear why that is.
The relationship between Ouran and Kadode is the center of everything--their bond IS the show. It's that kind of ride-or-die, I'd-kill-for-you, I'll-be-by-your-side-even-if-the-whole-world-is-against-you, in-every-life-i'd-find-you-and-love-you, soul-bonded, fiery devotion and love. They are the most important person in each other's lives, full stop. It's those kind of relationships that are so transcendent it goes beyond simple definitions of romantic and platonic. In other words, my kind of shit exactly.
But, as far as romance goes, Ouran, at least, is definitely queer and the depths of her determination to keep Kadode safe in a world that wants to destroy her girl that would make Homura Madoka Magica blush. (Kadode is more ambiguous, but she’s definitely soul bonded with Ouran. And honestly should just date Ouran because god she needs to be rescued).
There’s also a gentle empathy for marginalized people underneath all the horror—the girls befriend an alien trying to survive in the guise of a human, and it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that the first person our alien tells absolutely everything to is the gnc/potentially trans person of the group, Makoto (To be specific, they seem to still be figuring out their identity, but they definitely present feminine and specifically came to Tokyo because their small town wouldn’t be okay with how they like to dress). The way Makoto immediately shields their alien friend from others when they make the reveal that they saying “Don’t let them see, it’s not safe” and how it’s followed up by the alien reassuring Makoto that their friends will be okay with it if they take their wig off to swim...it makes the metaphor extremely clear, and it’s always nice when a series can explore marginalized characters both textually and metaphorically.
Through the kids, we get kernels of hope in this story, a reassurance there are kinder people in this world, and a hope that kindness will endure.
As depressing as the story can be, what it has to say is important and it doesn’t hold back in making you see what it’s going for—from the “Cool Japan” logo flashing right before the Japanese government gives a weapons demonstration that will later kill citizens and destroy innocents...
...to the Trump-alike American President (and let me tell you it’s startling to be watching a show in Japanese and suddenly Donald Trump impression in perfect English) *(had to use the manga here because Crunchyroll didn't close-caption this part :/)
Then there's the American tourists, who were clearly va’d by someone really good at English, potentially a native speaker, and it’s incredibly funny how much of their dialogue has “fuck” in it and seeing the subtitles skip over that. Also much of their dialogue is treating the devastated Japan as a tourist attraction and saying how funny it all is to them. Logan Paul has entered the chat.
De x 8 very clearly hates America and recognizes it as a blood thirsty colonial power, which is correct, but the show is just as hard on it’s own country, saying the Japanese government would happily get back on the colonizing horse if they had an excuse, and many citizwns would mindlessly support them.
A small thing I appreciate is far from the usual anime aesthetic where everyone is blandly cute, the anime gives a ton of people ridiculously cartoony features that make everyone distinct—and being goofy looking is not meant to indicate a character is stupid or ugly—Makoto’s a super sympathetic character with giant cartoon buck teeth and one character that’s even pointed out as pretty has like, a pig snout nose. (It also makes it so the character noted as being drop dead gorgeous...actually is, instead of coming off as just as conventionally attractive as the rest)
Soooo a lot of good stuff going into this story. Let’s talk about some caveats.
There’s a continuing storyline between Kadode and her adult teacher, who takes her to his place to have sex with her. When he does, she ends up ditching him because of her feels for Ouran (gay) and I thought that would be the end of it, but nooope he’s a groomer, they pick up dating again when she’s in college, literally months after the previous encounter. The dude is presented as a scumbag, he cheats on his girlfriend, he seems generally apathetic, his clear discomfort with Kadode calling him “sensei” shows that he knows what he’s doing is wrong …and ultimately the relationship is shown to be unfulfilling, with Kadode directly stating so and acknowledging he’s just advantage. That doesn’t stop it from being uncomfortable though, especially since it’s confirmed he and Kadode have sex eventually (offscreen, thank god) and honestly, I felt it dragged on way too long. The first encounter pretty much demonstrated everything we needed to know about the whole thing in my view.
And of course there’s a ton of potentially triggering content in a story like this—from genocide to suicide to child murder to almost anything you can think of. Also like, one character has a sister complex, but on the milder side for anime. One where it’s conceivably platonic, and it’s not like he goes after her boyfriend Yuri Forger style, so it doesn’t bother me too much. There's also a good dose of fatphobia. And finally moment where a woman reveals she has ADHD (which I've never actually heard anyone say in anime so I actually got a little excited the more fool me) and then is almost immediately shown to be faking it.
The ending…is another big sticking point for me. It feels disconnected from the rest of the series, mainly focusing on a character we barely know and likely don’t care about and spending very little time with the characters we do, presenting an interesting status quo and immediately abandoning it, and while earlier episodes of the series presented "actions have consequences and we gotta live with them" as a major theme, it was suddenly like, actually they don’t!
The ultimate ending, again, hinges on a decision from a character we don’t care about and honestly feels like a deus ex machina. It felt almost like the author really wanted a happier ending but knew that wasn’t in line with the story he’s told so far, so he just tacked it on. Or maybe it was an editorial mandate, who knows. I think the most satisfying way to see watch episode 1-16 as its own pretty satisfying complete story (which works really well), and then treat episodes 0 and 17 as their own separate thing, a potential additional ending but not the definitive one. At least that’s what I did.
Overall, De x 8 is a show with a lot to say and it gives you plenty to chew on. While it is often depressing, it is very rewarding. The unbreakable bond between two messy girls, as well as the moments of ordinary joy and small human/alien journeys are the core of the show, and what makes it shine. I definitely encourage you to give it a watch. It's being really slept on, and it shouldn't be.

Goodbye
Pairing: John "Soap" MacTavish x Samantha "Scarlet" Wright (OC)
Note: Finally finished with this ScarSoap fic. Usually what hurts me more is that this ship has become angsty ever since Soap has been meeting the same unusual fate, lol. Well, here's how it went, for the 141 and her..
Warnings: Pure angst, major character death, canon event of Modern Warfare III, bit of violence
"Soap, look out!" Scarlet cried at the top of her lungs, when Makarov knocked her out, and Soap got shot, as he passed out on the ground while trying to defuse the bomb with Captain Price. Scarlet was up, giving covering fire but turns out the Konni group outsmarted her. Ghost and Gaz were also pinned by the enemy forces in their location so they had to fend them off before they could reach to them.
Scarlet was desperately attempting to get on her feet, so she could save Price and Soap but saw that Makarov had the high ground. Price got heavily stunned by him and before he could attack the Captain, Soap immediately got up and tightly grabbed onto the terrorist, preventing Makarov from killing the Captain and Scarlet.
His face turned around towards the Sergeant who was still struggling to get up. "Scarlet, save yourself!" Soap though wanted to save Price, but more likely he didn't want her to be hurt.
"No! I'm not leaving without you!" Scarlet groaned and tried crawling towards the rifle that had fallen on the ground after she got attacked next to Makarov's feet, in an attempt to finally put an end to this genocide. Soap was still trying to keep him held, and Makarov kept beating the soldier to weaken him. Scarlet extended her hand towards the rifle, grabbing it with her fingers until she witnessed the moment she'd never forget, in her entire life.
Makarov knocked off the rifle away from her, and with his strength he broke free from Soap and grabbed the injured soldier through his hair, aiming the pistol on his head. Soap groaned in pain and looked at Scarlet, extending his hand towards her as he spoke weakly. "S-Scarly.."
Makarov smirked, and pulled the trigger, the bullet pierced through Soap's head, blowing his brains out, as he passed out on the ground in cold blood. Scarlet widened her eyes, in shock, and horror, seeing Soap's now lifeless body staring at her eyes. She even forgot to fight or pick up the rifle that was on the ground. The reinforcements arrived, along with Gaz and Ghost who gave a counter attack and Makarov ran away before they could catch him. Everyone was busy taking down the last of Makarov's henchmen but Scarlet stood still on her ground, staring at him in pure horror. He was laid there on the ground, the blood splattered around. His lifeless corpse kept looking into Scarlet's horrified eyes, even the gunshots and war cries felt blurry for her ears.
With the little strength she had, she crawled towards him, the closer she could get, to caress his face, hoping that he'd be alive. I mean, no one survived a gunshot in the head, did they? But, she still urged that Soap wouldn't die. This quick..
After they finished killing the rest of the soldiers, their attention then went towards the huge bomb that they were trying to defuse before Makarov could come over and take them down.
"Captain, the bomb —— how do we stop it?" Gaz crouched and looked at the bomb's components. Price for a moment looked at Scarlet's condition, completely unstable at the sudden loss she incurred by losing Soap. Ghost also joined in the meantime, seeing how devastated Scarlet had turned into, feeling her pain as well. He didn't have time to look for the two yet, but it was more necessary to defuse the bomb and save thousands of lives.
"Alright, rind the red wire. RED ONLY — Soap said we cut together — on "3". Copy?" Price grabbed the red wire, waiting for Gaz's response in return.
"Rog. On three!" Gaz held the red wire, so did Price, in countdown.
"One.. two.. three!" And by that, Price and Gaz collectively, sighing in relief after the bomb successfully defused. They were glad that the threat was over, but there was a bigger problem ahead of it. They turned around and saw Soap's dead body, next to Ghost and Scarlet, who kept examining the dead body. Scarlet just sat there in grief, and Ghost tried to look for a pulse, but no success. The masked man turned around and looked at the Captain, in concern.
Price did feel what Ghost was trying to mean but it broke him more seeing Scarlet, who just kept staring at Soap in all hopelessness and guilt. If she would have grabbed the rifle on time.. Soap would have —
"Scarlet.. are you okay?" Gaz gently asked the woman, who couldn't respond to anything at the moment, seeing the love of her life dead in front of her eyes. When Gaz called her, it was a trigger moment. Her eyes sting in pain, the tears immediately fill her eyes, and they fall down on her cheeks, the sobs and whimpers growing louder but couldn't scream. She tried to grab the soldier in her arms, hugging onto him tight as she finally cried out the loudest. Everyone felt her pain. They did too. She hoped Soap would hug her back, but it seems it was now just false hope. He was dead. Never to return.
Price went through his comms, not sure to inform the bad news while everyone stood in grief. "All stations - this is Bravo in the blind. Threat neutralized. Bomb is safe.. one KIA."
Scarlet kept the man held in her arms, not wanting to let go of him. All the years, they have been and got through, reduced to ashes the moment she saw Soap dying in front of her eyes. The gunshot on his head was what will always haunt her forever. She hoped it was all a nightmare. Just a horrible one, and she'll wake up, finding Soap laying beside her, alive and breathing peacefully. Opening his eyes and moving the locks of her hair to see her beautiful face, caressing it and kissing her nose, the chuckle that always enlightened the woman. But, it seems, she cannot break out of it — it seemed more than real, than of a delusion.
-
They all reach the Isle of Skye, to put Soap to rest. They weren't even ready to say goodbye to him, but usually, Price knew that was the cruel truth of war. You'd never know who's going to die and who's not. Who's winning and whose losing in the process. He wasn't really happy with what he witnessed, and the fear of someone getting away from his life came out to be true. He was more scared for rest, hoping they'd not die a gruesome death like Soap as well.
They all looked at the huge lake, between the two mountains, in the warm sunset, mourning the fallen comrade. Scarlet too was there, but she was more lost in her emotions, sitting on a rock.
"He was the best of us." Price shook his head, and pursed his lips.
"The toughest." Gaz continued.
"He'd've fought the world bare handed.." Ghost spoke in an emotional tone. He sure was a cold-hearted soldier who showed no remorse, but losing Johnny broke a huge part of him as well. His hands went into the bag, taking out the urn that had Soap's ashes. He puts the vessel in the centre of the team, keeping their hands on the top together, sending their blessings to Soap before he leaves.
"Who dares wins.. sleep easy, soldier."
"See you down range, brother. We'll take it from here.."
"Rest in peace, Johnny." Ghost opens the urn, and then prepares to spread Soap's ashes in the air, only to find out it took out nothing. The team was surprised, and swore they kept his ashes in it.
"Where did it go?" Gaz furrowed his eyebrows, wondering where Soap's ashes go. They all turned around to Scarlet, who still sat there on the rock hopelessly, asking if she knows.
"Sergeant, where are his ashes?" Price asked the woman, who wasn't able to utter a word. Ghost tried to examine her and his attention went towards the pocket of her cargo pants. He walked towards the soldier and crouched in front of her, moving the pocket a bit and seeing a bit of ashes falling down.
They all realised.. that Scarlet took out all the ashes, and kept them in her pocket. That visual broke them apart more. She didn't want to let him go. Never.
After they found out, Scarlet sobbed out the loudest, and the tears streamed down her cheeks, her hands covering her face, not wanting them to see the pain and sorrow she was going through. They all did sympathise for her, but at the same time they can't do anything.. when the damage has been done.
"Scarlet.. I know it hurts. But, at times you need to let go. Johnny wouldn't like that at all." Price sighed, sadly. "He will never be at rest until you don't spread his ashes.. would you like that?"
At some point, Price was right. She never would have thought of not putting Soap to rest, but all those memories.. from being childhood friends to lovers, it shattered her to the core. It felt like she never deserved love. She was always meant to lose it. The one she felt could go away from her life, actually did. She had no choice anymore, but to just do it.. she got up from her seat, and walked towards the huge lake, the team giving her space to leave. For a couple of minutes, she looked at the view, and closed her eyes, her hands reaching in her pocket, grabbing a handful of Soap's ashes.
She held them in a fist, ready to spread it but a part of her refuted. The tears kept threatening to fall on her cheeks, but she controlled them as much as possible. She can't let him go.. she just can't —
"Let go, Scarly." She heard the voice. That voice which always brought light in her life. She saw him, looking in front of her from the cliff, smiling. "You have to let go of me, lass.. it's the only way."
Her lips and hand trembled, trying not to breakdown while spreading his ashes. "All you have to say, is goodbye. You'll feel better.."
Hearing Soap's voice, she sighed shakily, and without wasting any time, she finally had the strength to spread the ashes in the air, collecting each from her pocket and then throwing it in the sky. She did it slowly, wanting to bid Soap goodbye a little more late. She finally grabbed the last handful of ashes, and also threw them in the air. She then looked at Soap, smiling at her delightfully before his body started to vanish in front of her.
"Thank you, Scarly." Saying his final words, he bids his farewell to her and the 141, disappearing in the wind. The only word Scarlet could let out of her mouth, before they could leave.. as a tear fell down her cheek.
"Goodbye, Johnny."

This isnt directly a request but if you do end up getting inspiration out of this then im glad! (wouldn't complain lol) Imagine how Shiggy would act if some villain with a big loving heart came in and just- somewhat adopted him. Shiggy gets injured? They're there soothing and scolding him. Ranting about video games or heroes? They're patiently listening. Makes my heart so happy negl.
Omg anon I actually really like this idea lol. I have no idea how I would write it as a fic or even organized headcanons BUT I will most certainly give you my disorganized thoughts on this because I have no self control.
APOLOGIES because I'm writing this at 1:33pm and I am very tired (but will likely not sleep until 3am.), THEREFORE, I probably have many typos because I didn't proof read an I am so sorry lol. Anyways, hope you enjoy my thoughts on this, feel free to add anything, I don't mind going back and forth on this topic (this goes for anyone btw! Not just anon. I love hearing everyone's thoughts on concepts I write for)
I feel like in this scenario of reader being a villain, reader's motives are either out of spite towards their hatred for capitalism or they're just kind of... goofy...and unhinged... in a bad way .. thatcopsandheroesdontlike YOU GET THE PICTURE OK? (Use your imagination bestie)
But regaRDLESS, you have a huge soft spot (and maybe some hard spots;) ) for shigaraki.
Which actually just ends up with you having a lot of compassion and care towards him. You can tell he's been through a lot. anyone can. and seeing him having clear struggles in his physical life and internal conflicts, you can't help but want to, well, help him.
I won't go into a huge back story because I simply... am tired LOL. But somewhere along the way shigaraki let you grace him with your presence.
So now you're here with your adopted introverted son and guiding him through his life full of terrorism, tyrants, and genocide 🫶 (you don't quite understand how he's both introverted and a menace to society at the same time. Shigaraki is what happens when an introvert just gets really fed up with capitalism ig)
BUT I DIGRESS
Shigaraki actually really appreciates you're presence. Will he admit it? FUCK NO LMAO. he'd rather twist his eyelids off and eat them before telling your annoying ass he appreciates you. But he does. Just trust me, he does.
Besides spinner, no one really listens to his rants about video games, players, the fall of society. Dabi refers to him as "a cartoon villain on heroin who monologues " shigaraki didn't like that very much
But you listen. You really listen. You ask him questions, you validate his feelings and concerns, you make sure he knows that he's making progress, ect. You don't just hear what he says, you listen. You engage. Which is something he's needed for a very long time.
Especially when he gets injured, is when he gets the most attention from you. Honestly sometimes he wants to hurt himself just hear you cry over him LOL. He's low-key obsessed with you but don't ever bring it up if you notice.
Like the one time he came back to the bar after the U.S.J incident, all bloody with bullets wounds, you were... not handling it well to say the least. Lol. Shigaraki was fine, just chilling on the floor cursing the hero bastards, as he calls them. But you were "dramatic" as shigaraki says. "I'll be fine I'll just stick some bread in bullet holes and cover them with plastic wrap"
???
????!!!!
SHIGARAKI YOU SUPID FUCK
You, much to his dismay, disinfected the wound with alcohol and with kurogiris help stitched up the wounds and wrapped them with a compression bandage and made him rest while checking in every so often to change out his gauze and bandages and cleaning the wounds again.
You also checked in quite a bit to make sure he was hydrated (with water because all the idiot drinks are energy drinks and alcohol)
Going back to listening to his interests, you both share some of the same interests so it helps a lot with your bond with the leader of the league. Even political views.
He listens to you too, even if he doesn't understand some of your interests or is very knowledgeable on certain topics you enjoy, he loves listening to you. He actually thinks your way of speaking and the way your voice sounds is very, very cute. But again, he'll never tell you. He's too embarrassed to and doesn't want to ruin,,,, whatever reputation he thinks he has.

rating changes made in natla: episode 1
I wanna be clear that I overall enjoyed the series. Most things I had problems with were actually pretty minor.
Planning to attack the Earth Kingdom as a distraction from the Air Nomad genocide: kind of cool I guess but still a weird and random way to open a whole ass show with these randos. Maybe a good way to set up the White Lotus I guess. Cool excuse to see Sozin. Reaction: Neutral
Kyoshi narrating the introduction: Cool. Makes sense. We haven’t met Katara yet. Also cool that they didn’t stick to the original opening monologue bc that wouldn’t have fit as well actually. Reaction: Positive
Showing life in the Air Temple before it was attacked. I mean I get it. It shows Aang’s reaction with Gyatso and kind of leads us to understand where he comes from. It makes his loss hurt that much more. Reaction: Positive
Great Comet Festival: Obviously an excuse to get everyone together for the Genocide but cool I guess. Reaction: Neutral
Aang just going away to clear his head instead of running away from being the Avatar: I get it. It’s to make him seem more likable, not irresponsible. I really don’t care either way. Reaction: Neutral.
Showing the Air Nation genocide: It didn’t last too long and it wasn’t as terribly graphic as I thought it could be. It fit in with the tone and narrative. Did it add anything to the point that it seemed necessary? No. Reaction: Neutral.
Katara using the Fire Nation ship as a place to practice her bending? Badass. Reaction: Positive
Showing more of Sokka’s duties/leadership/burden around the SWT village: love it, delicious, I’m obsessed. Also leaning into Hakoda’s absence. Great. Reaction: Positive
Finding Aang for some random reason that isn’t Katara being pissed at Sokka’s sexism: Honestly I wasn’t bothered by this the first time around but now it’s clear to me this is the first in a long line of choices that make Katara’s character more boring and like. peaceful so. Reaction: Negative
Zuko’s fanatical journal and doodle wall: Love it. Super on brand. Reaction: Positive
Aang already having the bison whistle: whatever. Reaction: Neutral
The SWT having a longhouse: It’s a small change but I love how much more developed the set is… Reaction: Positive
Gran Gran doing the opening monologue from the original show: it fit but I’m sorry it was soooo cringe oh my god….. Reaction: Negative
Let me just mention this here but it’s kind of weird that Katara doesn’t mention her mother’s necklace in the whole show when it was so important to the plot of the original show??? Just another facet of her character ignored I guess. Reaction: Negative
The weird claw thing the Firebenders do: it’s ugly lol. Reaction: Negative
Iroh starting real early trying to convince Zuko his dad sucks: their relationship is so much cooler and better in this show and I can’t really explain it. But I like this and it fits. Reaction: Positive
Sokka’s real ass engineering and defensive skills on full display? Huge love. Reaction: Positive
That one boy close in age to Sokka. Why is he here? Wasn’t Sokka supposed to be the only one left? Glad he gets a boyfriend though. Reaction: Neutral
Iroh’s conversation with Aang on the Fire Nation ship: it’s whatever. An interesting choice to have him tip his hand so early. I have to believe there’s a reason for it and again it works with his overall narrative in the season. Reaction: Neutral
Not spending so much time at the Southern Air Temple… I get it, it was kind of the trade off for showing so much in the beginning. It’s fine, it works. Reaction: Neutral
Aang bringing himself out of the Avatar state by thinking about Gyatso/who he is/whatever, instead of Katara doing it: I get it, they seem to be wanting to cut out any overt Kataang stuff. Still, the relationships between our three main characters are just not nearly as tight in this version of the show and something like this might have saved it? Still, Aang crying in her arms afterward covers that a bit so. Reaction: Neutral

Hey friend, I know that you didn't mean any harm by it, but making light of grave robbing, something that is unfortunately still a pretty major issue towards indigenous communities even today, kind of sucks a little bit and can really hurt to see. :(
This is something that affects real people and to see it just untagged on the dash, and implying that it is taken so unseriously that it would have happened more than once with little action by cannon characters also shows them in a much more negative light than you may be meaning to.
//A very good point I failed to consider, thank you for pointing it out to me (and for being so courteous in doing so, which I know isn’t a necessity).
//I’ll take that post down, since you’re right it is a real issue that still touches people, and it was treated more lightly than it should be, real life or fiction. Thank you again for the heads-up, and I apologize for what harm my post caused you or anybody else affected.
//Since I hadn’t read much into the subject before, I’m also putting a few articles under the cut for anybody else who wants to learn more. Do know they cover, in addition to the robbing of indigenous graves, historic and modern racism in academia and beyond, including discussions of phrenology and indigenous genocide.
//This article covers the robbing of indigenous graves in the United States (specifically in New England) up until NAGPRA was created in 1990, though many artifacts remain unreturned and indigenous graves are still stolen from nowadays. https://www.ctinsider.com/news/article/indigenous-grave-robbing-new-england-17810749.php
//And this article covers modern refusal by major institutions, including museums and universities, to return remains from indigenous graves and the failures of current US laws such as NAGPRA to force those returns. https://www.propublica.org/article/repatriation-nagpra-museums-human-remains
#//since i’m taking the old post down a summary: got an ic anon about raifort robbing graves.#//responded taking it too light ic; implied it had happened before#//again i appreciate people feel comfortable to hold me to this; want to create a safe community#//and i was definitely uneducated about the subject. i’ll keep learning & do better#tw graverobbing#ask to tag

I'm an amature writer and artist, but can I paint a picture for you? You don't even have to say anything about it, all I ask is that you
don't look away.
There's a woman holding two children's hands. One is standing next to her, crying and whimering quietly. She's looking directly at you, with a not quite accusing glare and a face covered in dirt and dust and her own blood. The other is hidden away on a hospital bed under a sheet. The woman holding the children's hands is their mother and she is screaming, begging in a language I don't understand, but then, agony has never needed words, has it?
Ah, my apologies, that's a rather cruel image, isn't it. Here, let me try again then, just
don't look away.
There is fifteen people in the front of a picture, and many more in the back. Of the fifteen people, five are children. One is a small child strapped to an older man's chest with a baby carrier. A second stands near the same man's legs holding a sign in a language I cannot read. A third and forth stand together wearing matching outfit's and standing together holding another sign in that same language. The fifth stands to the left of the fourth and third. He looks younger than those two, but still older than the second and the first. There's an older woman holding a boquet of flowers and there's several younger women in the photo too. In total, there's six women. There's four men in the picture with them. The caption of the photo is in a language I do know, announcing that they are the Hattab family. In that same caption, it also says that every one of them are dead.
Oh my, that was too harsh as well, wasn't it? Let me try again, one more time, just
don't look away.
There's a beautiful young woman, with curly hair and nice skin and and makeup on. She's sitting in a well lit library, with her face leaning on her manicured hand. She has long white painted nails. The library in the background is clean and organized, and the woman is also sitting by a window that lets more light into the room. The woman looks a bit annoyed, as if she just had to deal with an especially loud gnat or another equally small thing that she didn't like. There's a caption on the image, it reads "111 days. Impossible to go back to normal." She does not look at all alarmed or scared, or hungry or thirsty, and she does not look hurt. There's another caption on the same image that was written by another person. It reads, "This is how you know that it is a genocide and not a war. One side is being murdered and enduring unimaginable suffering 24/7. The other side is relaxing in cafes complaining about being scared of an undefined threat, in between living their lives as normal. This is not war. It is genocide."
If you haven't guessed by this point, I am not talking about something false. This is written descriptions of images and videos of the current genocide of palestine. I write this as a person who is not of either country, and nor am I in any way related to any person on either side of this war.
I cannot look aside. I refuse to look aside from this. All I ask is that you do the same. Let the world watch, let the world see, and
don't look away.

”You’re not even trying right now. What, afraid you’ll hurt him?”
Sorry Philip, not everyone has what it takes to kill their brother.
Yeah. I just went there.
To be serious for a moment, I am glad backup is already arriving so Luz doesn’t have to face him alone again. What exactly they can do to get him off Hunter, I don’t know, but at least it evens the odds.
Hold on, did the animation just get super smooth? Like Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas levels of Smooth?
I think we might get a cool action scene here, so before that…
Philip, as always, knows what to say to mess with Luz. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s been spying on the Noceda residence. We did see him consume some poor animal right next to the house. AND it’s likely that he hitched a ride on Hunter when he saw him in the abandoned house. Either that, or he found his own way into the house, as vermin are wont to do. He could have been hiding in the walls or in the covers of the shadows last night while Luz was recording that entry for the video diary
Or not. Let’s talk a bit about what he’s saying and not how he knows it. For one thing, he says out loud that Luz helped him meet The Collector and Amity seems to react to that. So I guess the cat might be out of the bag on that one. Philip also seems to be under the impression that he’ll be able to continue with his genocidal campaign against witches if he just gets back to the Demon Realm. This prompts the question; how does he plan to do that? It’s not like he can start the Day of Unity over and I don’t think The Collector would be overly happy to see his ex-best friend return
YOOOOOOOO, LET’S GO! This is where the budget’s at!
Called it.
Oh, and you’re doing great sweetie, I’m so proud of you.
You guys already know I love me some pretty lights, so I’m having a blast right now. Go! Pew, pew! Woosh! Ka-boom!
Vee’s face right now laughing emoji
Girl really said O_O
(gotta love how that ice bridge got smashed into perfect blocks. what is this, minecraft?)

No Matter What
"Uzi? It's time to rejoin the others. And you know.... Hop on the bus?"
Uzi timidly walked up to N. "Listen, N. I know you still like me but I still killed a whole bunch of my classmates and I already wasn't on the best of terms with them from the start. I mean, for pity's sake, even when I was full genocidal monster on them they STILL didn't know my name!"
N blinked with a beep at her.
"What I'm trying to say is... maybe, after all this time, everyone has avoided me for an actual good reason. Maybe I'm.... supposed to be alone. Maybe is everyone is supposed to... just up and leave me. I mean, if I just end up hurting everyone than it would only be natural that I end up... alone?"
Uzi was always a short droid but she was feeling even smaller with this little admission.
"Hey! Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's never going to happen. I'm not going anywhere."
Uzi smiled. Just a small one though.
"Really?"
"Really. And I'll prove it, through song!"
"Oh wait! No, N! Really, that's okay! Please don't..."
"Too late, I'm singing it! In the light of the day"
Uzi facepalmed. "Oh geez."
"In the dark of the night"
"I guess we're really doing this, huh?"
"When you're raring to go"
"I at least hope nobody else can hear us."
'When you're tired from the fight"
"Otherwise this will be IMPOSSIBLE to live down!"
"When you're losing your mind"
"Seriously, an entirely separate genocide just to keep droids quiet."
"Let me give you a thought"
"Alright, fine. Since I can't seem to stop it, I might as well just ride it out. At least it's just for me. Not everybody can say N sung them a song."
"I'm gonna be right your side no matter what"
Despite the embarrassment, Uzi still smiled. Nobody else was around, so why NOT sing along?
"In the dark of the night"
N covered his visor with his hands for a moment.
"In the dark of the night" Uzi sang along.
N's whole face brightened as soon as he heard Uzi sing with him.
"In the light of the day"
N placed his arm around Uzi and threw out his far hand as if he were referring to something far away.
"In the light of the day"
Uzi playfully rolled her eyes.
"When you're rising to shine"
N stretched his arms as if he were waking up.
"When you're rising to shine"
Uzi pretended to be rubbing dust from her eye (visor).
"When you're hitting the hay"
N put his hands together and rested his head against them mimicking sleep.
"When you're hitting the hay"
Uzi pulled N's hat down over his visor.
"I'll be hanging around"
N jumped up and hung upside down on a tree branch with his arms dangling down.
"I'll be hanging around"
Uzi jumped up and grabbed N's arms, swinging with them.
"If you like it or not"
N brought Uzi up so they were sitting on the same branch.
"If you like it or not"
Uzi put N in a headlock and gave him a friendly noogie. Hat and all.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what!"
N threw some ninja stars at a tree and then he shared some with Uzi. Her whole face brightened with a giant smile.
"No matter what"
N used his tail to hang upside down again.
"No matter what"
Uzi mimicked him but because she wasn't used to having a tail, her's just sort of bit the branch.
"No matter what"
N and Uzi both had their wings out and N was using fingers to count down.
"No matter what"
Both took off into the air but Uzi needed a little help. Thankfully N was able to instruct her on the proper way to flap.
"No matter what"
N shot up a little bit into the sky.
"No matter what"
Uzi followed quickly behind.
"No matter what"
N went a little higher.
"No matter what"
Uzi continued to follow.
"Oh, I'm gonna be"
N twirled around Uzi going higher into the sky.
"Oh, I'm gonna be"
Uzi hovered in place for a moment to ensure she wasn't dizzy. Then shot after him.
"Right by your side"
N appeared up in the clouds now.
"Right by your side"
Uzi popped her head out of one of the clouds, joining him.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
A small game of chase developed between the two.
"In the dark of the night"
Somehow in their little game N had lost sight of Uzi. He could hear her but he couldn't find her.
"In the light of the day"
He looked behind a nearby cloud but she wasn't there.
"When you're rising to shine"
N scratched his head in confusion.
"When you're hitting the hay"
N decided that maybe if he just sang a little louder he could find her.
"Just remember this song"
Uzi quickly poked her head out from a cloud.
"How's it go? I forgot" confessed Uzi.
The two laughed for a moment but N quickly picked the song up again.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
They were flying down to the ground now.
"Through whoever you've been"
Uzi landed on a tree branch followed shortly by N.
"Through whoever you've been"
N jumped down to the ground and folded up his wings.
"Through whoever you'll be"
N opened up his arms encouraging her to jump.
"Through whoever you'll be"
Uzi tried to jump down but she slipped and almost bellyflopped down instead. N still caught her though.
"Through whatever you lose"
In his arms, Uzi stared up at N. A small blush started to form on her visor.
"Through whatever you lose"
N stared down at Uzi with a smile.
"You will always have me"
N realized they were lingering for longer than he thought and put her down.
"You will always have me"
At first Uzi scooted away from him, hiding her optic visor with her hair. However, a moment later she scooted back and playfully punched his arm.
"At the end of your road"
N rubbed his arm but still smiled. He pointed to a trail back to the camp and started walking down it.
"At the end of your road"
Uzi quickly followed after him, making sure she kept pace with him.
"I'll be holding you taut"
Without warning Uzi grabbed N's hand, lacing their fingers together.
"I'll be holding you taut"
N looked down at their hands with borderline shock. He looked to her for an explanation only for her to grin in response.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
With his hand in tow, she started to run down the path.
"Be right by your side, Be right by your side"
N was resistant at first but he soon felt comfortable enough with it and ran past her, never letting go of her hand.
"Be right by your side no matter what"
N twirled Uzi around to slow down their speed and spun her into a hug.

Rambles about the Conscience of the King cuz it gave me brainrot last night
You know after reading some stuff, while I my angst loving self is bummed the whole “Kirk witnessed/survived a genocide,” won’t get brought up again, I’m kinda glad. It’s rare for protagonists to have something that traumatic happen to them while also having it not get brought up all the time. And I did like the way we see Kirk’s past influence him in the episode. Like he cared for the Doctor and believed an outlandish claim like “I have invented a new synthetic food source,” at the start but when the truth is revealed Kirk denies it. He wants this part of his life to stay buried and he uses the ship as cover. “How am I going to be able to explain this in my report?” Only after looking into it a bit did he realize a criminal might actually be on the loose and decided to investigate. His flirting with Kodo’s daughter appeared to be more playful, even genuine. Like he actually thinks she’s pretty but also wants information. But then the doctor was murdered.
And this snaps something in Kirk, tho he will try to not show it and nearly the entire enterprise crew doesn’t pick up on it. But after this, Kirk throws the Enterprise off course and his advances on Kodos’ daughter seems more of an act. She even basically calls Jim out for fishing during one of their “romantic,” walks around the ship. He gave her a tour to try to get her to trust him but this tour gave her the run of the ship, which let her track down and nearly murder the only other still living survivor, Riley, after Kirk moved him to engineering for safety.
I made a separate Sorta joke post as I was watching the story about Jim’s weirdass smile here but it’s true.
Jim is not in a good headspace here. He’s recklessly making decisions under the guise of seeking justice but leaving everyone he cares about out of the loop b/c it’s his personal business and he doesn’t want them to get hurt and he is attempting to bury his emotions to focus on this mission.
Aka basically what Spock just did in the Menagerie.
And so of course, Spock notices this instantly. And unlike Kirk, who was in denial about Spock’s lie until it was irrefutable, Spock follows logic, figures out what’s going on, and confronts Jim with Bones to make him see reason. That he’s needlessly risking his life here. And I think this is what ultimately snaps Kirk back to reality. Cuz after this he’s way less reckless. (The phaser nearly killing everyone on his deck also helped but still)
Kirk still confronted Kodos, even had the execution order he apparently memorized (god that is a whole other can of worms), but importantly, he’s almost sympathetic here. Like he sees a broken man and doesn’t want to take that away from him. He’s piecing together that Kodos isn’t the one killing the survivors.
And I like that Kirk stops Riley from killing Kodos but then still attempts to arrest Kodos before it all goes to shit. Kirk wants justice, not vengeance.
Best episode so far. I know these episodes were filmed out of order but whoever made the call to have this air after the Menagerie, thank you it works perfectly.

Two years have past since the end of the war with the Bugnarok Empire. Under the guidance of its new King, Jeremy Brasieri, the Bugnarok are now recognied by the other five kings as their own sovereign nation. However... centuries of pain cannot be undone so soon. Not when the world faces ever greater peril.
And... after that... Freaky Friday x 3.
Spoilers, I guess...
-Oh.
-He dead.
-Kamejim's an alien, huh?
-Ohhhhhhhh, that's a lot of bugs.
-Well, his majesty King Gira certainly looks older.
-Everybody seems to be resting on their laurels.
-Rita would be ashamed.
-"Oh... I see... Well, that's not the least bit surprising."
-What the hell happened to our worldwide government?
-"Please stop crying, it's not your fault! D:"
-The aliens are coming! We've been compromised!
-"I do, yeah!"
-Dugden Dujardin...
-"Right, here's the deal. You're all gonna hand your planet over to me.
-THEY THREW THEM IN JAIL?
-WHY THO
-RITA YOU RUN THE JAILS HOW-
-"Hey buddy, you lied to me, y'know?"
-Ohhhhhhhhh
-Holy shit
-This guy is just Bug-type Evolt.
-Oh my God.
-Y'know, I can't say I expected intergalactic genocide from this show.
-"Wow, you're right! I am mocking you."
-I have to say, the green screen halos add a lot to how surreal and terrifying he is.
-Hey, wait a fucking second, that's America on that earth model!
-All that with a flick.
-He nearly destroyed all of America.
-Racules you motherfucker
-Gira says "Up yours, Dugdump."
-Whoaaaaaaaa, who is that?
-J
-Jesters.
-Gorma...
-Man's got his own roster.
-Jimmy, of course, was here the whole time.
-I suppose God's sitting this one out.
-The Tyrant King returns.
-Ohsama Sentai! King-Ohger!
-Lovin' the new hair, Yanma.
-Kaguragi seems just about the same as he always is.
-Ran, on the other hand... Absolutely serving.
-Oh, short hair Rita. Love it.
-Rita's one gray eye...
-We are so back. ...even though really it hasn't been that long.
-"Freeze, stinkbug."
-Oh great, Jimmy slipped away.
-Oh
-Oh my god.
-What kind of fucking PC needs global power siphoning?
-HIMENO CAUSED A WILD FIRE
-KAGURAGI CREATED A FARM TANK
-RITA WOULDN'T FUCKING TAKE A VACATION
-Yes, kings are back, I saw last episode.
-Intergalactic clown bugs.
-We traded Dezzy for this jhkhkl
-Gorma's already come up with a perfect scheme~!
-Kaguragi's a flasher I see.
-Oh wait, no Himeno???
-Goddamn, Kaguragi's living it up.
-Yanma, you're in the middle of a tundra, why the hell did you take Rita's shoes off?
-There is literally no episode premise better for an ensemble cast like this than a Freaky Friday plot.
-Ohhhhh, I noticed that Rita covered Yanma's eye. It must be blind.
-The actors are absolutely nailing each other's mannerisms, holy crap.
-I'm glad Kaguragi and Jeremy are enjoying themselves :)
-Himeno's still absolutely serving in Kaguragi's body.
-"Yanma... please... hurry up, I need it."
-"Dude, c'mon, you're already making yourself home in my body, at least-"
-"GIVE!"
-My current theory as to why Rita covers their mouth so much is because they have an oral stim they view as particularly embarassing. I imagine it must've hurt a lot when Gira laughed so hard.
-It is so weird hearing Rita's voice speaking so casually.
-Apparently Ran's not built enough for Kaguragi's liking.
-"Oh, trust me, Mantis Lady! You gotta knead your dough and feel the burn to make a nice, extra crispy bread."
-Gorma Jumpscare.
-Gorma Rosalia...
-Ninpo! Body Swap Art!
-"Beat me, and you'll be heading right home."
-Ohgai Busou!
-Oh, right, just because the minds switch around doesn't mean the authorization does.
-Nin!
-Oh, Rita smiled, that's nice :)
-"Jeremy, you're thinking a little too generously..."
-And this is Gira saying this, so you know this is gonna be a geopolitical nightmare.
-Jesus Christ Himeno jkjhjkmnhl
-Well at least Kaguragi's employing a bit of aid.
-SEBAS WHAT
-"No fighting."
-C
-Cross-brained fox.
-"I'm arresting each and every last one of you bastards!"
-Yanma, Yanma, Yanma, Yanma!
-Aw, Jeremy :)
-Not the least bit surprising that Gira and Jeremy are taking this the best.
-"Whaaaaaaaat? Nooooo, nooooooo, I don't think the Bugnarok are responsible for this, nooooooo!"
-Huh
-I have to disagree Jeremy, that was insanely quick, considering.
-Heat stroked out.
-Having a bit of a wild day.
-"Suppose we've spent a bit too much money on healthcare..."
-There's a certain elegance in Kaguragi's interpretation of Kamakiri Ohger.
-That's a really cool way of tying the body swaps into the fight scene though, I won't lie.
-They mad.
-Bang!
-That's our Jeremy.
-We won! Technically!
-Now to remove the Ninja
-OH FUCK
-Ohhhhhhh, you're one tricky son of a bitch, aren't you Gorma?
-Oh man, shit's getting real now.

I kinda already answered this for Ericka on the "Issues" one. So I'll go with Audrey Drew.
This post got long, so putting a cut here.
Audrey's got ALOT and unlike Ericka, isn't as good at masking it. Partly due to her young age - she's about the same physical age as Mavis. Sure, she's surprisingly chill with a dry and dark sense of humor. But this girl has seen some seriously messed up shit. Girl was drowned by the one person she found she thought she could trust, and manipulated into helping him drown her besides. She was thrown into the horrors with no help and had to learn to survive in a dangerous inky nightmare where everything was out to kill her. She woke up covered in ink as something not fully human anymore. She accidentally zaps and hurts one of the few friendly faces she runs into, accidentally and unwittingly freeing a giant murderous ink beast. She tries to make it out only to be thwarted by evil robots who decided to basically kill her, ends up befriending the little cartoon who turns out to be the ink beast. Gets nearly killed TWICE by the robots who consider her dangerous. Finds out she's not really human but an ink monster and her father/creator is Joey Drew himself. Gets saved by the guy who murdered her and taken to his compound, gets attacked by a giant spider, kidnapped by a demented angel, has to escape the Keepers again, gets manipulated and nearly used as an accomplice to genocide, gets her LEGS ripped off, fuses with the ink beast that's been taunting and chasing her this whole time, watches her father die AGAIN crushed infront of her, then has to pilot the beast's body while the whole of his realm is after her and he's taunting her in her head. People getting tortured and killed. Dead bodies getting up and attacking her. Things coming out of the puddles on the floor. This gal has a whole entire trauma CONGA LINE as @lovelylivelyv has said. And THAT'S just dealing with what happens in CANON!! All because the poor thing just wanted some coffee so she could finish up her animation!
A big side effect of the trauma for Audrey is a dislike of being grabbed without notice/consent, particularly having her hands or arms grabbed as seen by her interaction with Allison. This is because she was grabbed and held by her arms both times Wilson tried to kill her. She also has self image issues from her ink corruption which manifests itself as a problem with mirrors and sometimes staring at or gripping/rubbing her hands, especially the blackened left one. She has existential problems due to finding out she's not human, a strong revulsion to cannibalism, hypervigilance, some issues with fluid sounds or feeling submerged/surrounded by fluid, Guilt from killing and being manipulated into helping Wilson, forgot her past due to a memory block surrounding Joey's first death, has an instinctual response to people who remind her too much of Wilson (creepy old guy, in bad health, wheezy breath, kind of creepy yet persuasive, older speech and honeyed voices, being overly friendly and familiar, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their ends, creepy janitor, little TOO into the paranormal, unaware how he comes off to others, etc. It's nothing personal, it's a trauma response that makes her scared or uneasy.)....trust me, there's alot there. Like Ericka, I'd be surprised if this girl didn't have a panic attack or some other breakdown at some point. She DOES canonically almost give up after the spider fight before she meets Memory!Joey. Thankfully (or unfortunately) she's not alone in this: Most visitors and inhabitants of the Cycle end up traumatized in one way or another.
I tend to see her as more introverted and quiet, kind of similar to Henry but a bit more outspoken and outwardly emotional. Largely prefers drawing either on her own or with people around. Generally one of the practical ones who prefers hiding from enemies or banishing them to killing them, but also has something of a playful mischievious streak along with a kind heart. Surprisingly chill but still unused to the weirdness of the Cycle and can provide a bit more of a humany outsider's perspective to it's weirdness and insanity. Despite her own congaline of trauma, she's actually MORE stable than Ericka is. But she isn't particularly judgemental since not only does she have trauma, but many of her family members are kind of nuts and cartoony. Probably has an affinity for dark and spooky things in a "I just think they're neat" or "I empathize with this thing" kind of way. Definitely a "You're weird, but I like you" kind of girl. Sort of a Lydia Deetz without the dramaticism compared to Ericka's Delia "Optimism and Positivity repressing all the trauma until they're a lil bit crazy" deal.

Sort of MercyTale Patchnotes but also not
Writing Chapter one and Figured I would give an update on how its going now that I finished the updated designs! continued underneath the cut~!
Prologue is done! with little glimpses of angst!
I have an editor now! my good friend Mouse/TastelessSkin agreed to help me out! :D
Melody is officially gonna be trans. not going to affect the story, but the idea wouldn't leave my head.
I know now that, canonically, Sans doesn't actually remember resets... but he kinda has too for this au to work (I'll try to keep him as canon as possible in other works of mine though)
Cover art is sketched out, so I just need to finish the background and lineart/color/shading and it'll be ready for the post!
I'm playing through a genocide run slowly while I write this- the idea is for me to be able to run around the underground so that I know what rooms come after which. its a lot easier on my brain than just looking up a map lmao
also kinda unrelated but Mouse found me a dark mode extension so now my eyes don't hurt/strain when trying to write.
Mouse is the best and I will fight ya'll on that.
Also, EVEN MORE EXTRAS.
...My brain decided to try and come up with what the different themes/music would be for the au and now I can't stop it lmao.
The ruins would be similar to their original theme, but more somber- kinda like your walking through an empty tomb.
Flowey's theme would be similar, though a bit less somber than the ruins.
Snowdin would seem verry calm, kinda give you the abandoned ghost town kinda vibe
Waterfall would be similar to the ruins. its original theme is already pretty somber though, so maybe just some haunting wind added to it?
Hotlands would be waaaayyy more quiet and less bopping than it usually is. unlike the others, it would also be a decent bit more ominous, like your slowly approaching something sinister.
the core would be even more ominous- its like, the ominous feeling is slow, starting in hotlands and coming to a climax after the core.
New home! this is where its REALLY unsettling. It would give you the feeling of being watched by something really, REALLY dangerous. like a giant predator is nearby but not yet chasing you.
Sans theme would, obviously, be megalovania, but it would be very orchestral. a slow build up, but once it got going its GOING. it would have hints of 'Your worst nightmare' and 'Finale' in it, but it would have quite a few more pieces of 'Megalo strike back' strung throughout it. It'd kinda sound like the boss music for an eldritch deity, or something out of monster hunter.
the Soul remnants theme would be their original themes (Bonetrousle, heartache, Spear of Justice, etc) but with a more haunting, somber feeling to them.
Honorable mention, but Melody's theme would probably be pretty cheerful. kind of a mix of toriel's theme and 'Your best friend'.
...yes I'm putting a lot of thought into the rewrite. this au/fic has been unfinished since 2017- I think its about time I finished it.

Sedna Trine Venus - The Divine Feminine in the Men's Locker Room
On 16 February at 5:13 AM GMT, Venus reaches it's exact trine with Sedna. This is happening as a bit of a prelude to the Venus-Pluto conjunction in Aquarius at 8:51 AM GMT, 17 February. This is the first Venus Pluto conjunction in Aquarius and the last Venus Sedna trine in Taurus.
This means everything this Sedna Venus tine is happening in a context of a lot of Pluto-Mars-Venus all conjunct kind of energy. So there's an edginess, a struggle for supremacy, a struggle for survival. It's a lot. Things are a lot right now.
Some things I'd be keeping my eye out for with Venus trining with Sedna
An alignment with primal feminine archetypes and energies
I was expecting (and we might get) appeals to bioessentialism, what women evolved for, the "divine nurturing mother goddess" but okay hear me out. Kristen Stewart in a jock strap in a men's changing room is the representation of the divine feminine that the current astrology calls for. Powerful, challenging male dominance in their own spaces, angry, gay, and it pisses off the transphobes, homophobes, and misogynists who want women to be little mothers.
An awareness of forms of beauty that go beyond what we're normally told to accept
Rejoice! The stars are telling you to be weird and gay
Heroic resignation and sacrifice for the greater good
Sedna trine Venus empowers for a wider view of what is good and beautiful, which to my mind covers putting your survival underneath other people's
Awareness of intense, generational levels of trauma
This may feel bad but isn't necessarily bad. Sometimes we need to feel and communicate our feelings.
Maybe even evolutionary levels of trauma.
The last time Sedna was about to enter Gemini was 9000 BC. The growth of agriculture and the written word all fit into a single cycle. We might feel the loss of species, cultures, societies. This would be a good week to be aware of Gaza and Sudan and the ongoing genocides there.
Re-evaluating values on a wider scale
Situations where what is good for now clashes with what is good for your lifetime or over multiple lifetimes. For instance, you may be called to tell the truth even when it hurts you long term because being truthful matters more.
Appeals to the Greater Good
People may be susceptible to the opposite - to tell lies because it aids their politics, or commit war crimes because the world needs certain types of people removed from it. There's few things in human history worse that when people justify doing bad in the name of a Greater Good

179.
one hundred and seventy-nine days without alcohol.
when i was still drinking, my relationship to and with my body was incredibly disassociative.
i had trouble being present in my body, taking care of it and listening to it. most days it was really difficult to even stand in front of mirrors for more than a few moments. eyes squinted, only looking for what surely needed to be presentable. no crust or sleep or out of place hairs. minimum wrinkles. an even collar. but i'd always keep my distance.
very few details--never too close.
a couple of months ago, my girlfriend sat on facetime with me while i conducted my nightly routine.
i get out of the shower, call her, and prop the screen up with an empty 7-day candle atop my chest of drawers. mindlessly, i begin to moisturize as we kiki. she stops me and asks why i'm slapping the oil on body like that. i laugh. what do you mean? she laughs too and tells me that i'm quite literally hitting myself as i spread a palmful of melted coconut oil on my skin. i shrug it off--tell her that's just how i moisturize.
a few days later, we do the same thing.
shower, facetime, night routine. i moisturize while we talk and when i'm done, walk over to the sink to wash my face. i grab my silicone scrubber and squirt a bit of cerave onto it (which i will no longer be using upon learning they support genocide, ahem). i run it under cold water and start on my left cheek. it's always the left cheek first. by the time i cover both sides of my face and reach my forehead she tells me to be gentle. i hadn't realized it, but i'd been scrubbing the fuck outta my skin. i tell her damn you right and chuckle, slowing down.
it instantly felt good, being gentle. and then i thought back to the moisturizing. and i thought about how i brush my teeth. wash my hair. i thought of all of my body cleansing rituals. how the only intention ever was to get it over with. and with very few mirrors involved.
i am almost 6 months sober now. a time period that feels both like the longest amount of time ever endured and also a singular "blip" in the grand scheme of it all.
there's is still plenty healing to be done. i definitely assumed i'd be the absolute best version of myself by now lol but if you were to ask me 7 months ago... i'm sure i seem pretty damn close.
i am falling back in love with me. falling back in love with loving myself. with paying attention to my body and not being afraid of it.
i took myself to the doctor for the first time in over 2 years. got my eyes and teeth checked out while i rode that responsibility high. even scheduled [and didn't chicken out of] follow-ups to said appointments.
and when night falls. when i muster up the energy to complete that night routine, i am aware of how much better it feels to feel myself be loved on. and so i take my time--i move so much slower. and i notice things.
i noticed new freckles popping up on my face--just like my dad and aunts and grandmother. i have a solid seven grey hairs along my hairline now. my breasts have grown heavier. my back hurts after sitting for so long so i stretch.
and i moisturize. and i breathe. and i look. and i notice. and i feel... so good.
